ER?: JSPX popup dialogs/windows and the JDev IDE

One thing I'm starting to find tedious in the JDev 11gTP4 IDE is when I have a JSPX page with a <af:popup> dialog/window, and I want to work with the popup rather than the rest of the page (say to drag n drop something into the popup in the editor window), I need to either search through the JSPX source code, or click down many levels in the structure window until I find the actual popup (....which if I then click on the popup node in the structure window, the editor window will display in the editor window).
Possibly I could do a search through the code searching for "popup", but if I have several popups this can also take sometime as I need to search 1 by 1.
As such, is there a shortcut I'm not aware of for navigating popups in a JSPX page, or alternatively could we raise an ER such that the Structure Window or similar shows an easily accessible, clickable list of popups and their ids available in the JSPX page please?

In addition to editing popups, Visual Editor also provides ways to edit ADF components which are clipped (ie., not fully visible in VE). Select the component which is clipped and select 'Design This Container' from the contextual action menu (small drop down menu on the top-right corner of the component). Visual Editor will show the component (and its hierarchy) in the visual editor.

The pdf is loading as html code. If you save it, it will download as :

How do I get all the control buttons in one place in 3.6.16, like they used to be in previous versions? Having the refresh and stop buttons between address and search windows, and the home button to the far right is awful.

In 3.6.16, the buttons are all over the place. In previous versions, the forward, back, refresh, stop and home buttons were all together. In this version, the refresh and stop buttons are between the address and search windows, and the home button to the far right.
I would love to have them all together as they used to be - much more user friendly that way. I have tried installing alternate themes, but the coding of this version over-rides the themes.

Firefox 4.0 has a combined Reload and Stop and Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar.
To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
* Open the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window to move the Stop and Reload button out of the location bar.
* Move the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

Can I view the browser window and the effects window at the same time?

I just got a second monitor to complement my 24" iMac, and would like to take advantage of it by having the effects window and the browser window with all my clips open at the same time. Anyone know if this is possible?

I think you just need to grab the Effects tab and drag it out of the Browser onto your extra monitor (though I could be wrong).

Hi cris2121, assuming you're using a mouse from apple, go to >System Preferences<
it's here where one can configure a mouse device.
Additionally you can also configure Scrubbing in Logic: "When in scrub mode, you can slowly move the playhead in the Tracks Window and the Audio (and optional MIDI) will be played back. The playback speed depends on how fast you move the Playhead in either direction."

Duplex printing. No dialog window on the HP LaserJet 1020

I'm running WinXP Pro, but I think it doesn't matter so much, because I've used duplex printing on it for a year without any problems. But now the dialog window, which must appear while using duplex printing is gone
When the Print on both sides instruction dialog window appears on the PC's monitor, follow the instructions, says the Duplexing Manual.
How to solve it, please help

Victory at last. OK, in case there is anyone out there who still has this (and start up no start) problems.
1. Delete the HP 1020 printer software via the Printers box from Control Panel (Visa 32 bit OS).
To do this, right click on the HP 1020 printer image, open the box, click on delete to remove the old driver & printer.
2. Go to HP 1020 site and find software downloads (words to that effect).
3. Download most recent driver (it is a plug and play driver -- currently [2-2011] there are 3 choices, this one is on top)
4. Install this driver. It will take a few minutes to complete
5. Plug in the printer and power up.
6 Once the dialogue box on the task bar says the printer is installed it's time to restart (if you look in the Printers Menu you probably won't find the printer. Don't panic yet)
7. Restart
8. Now look in the Printer Menu again. You 1020 should be there.
9. Test and good luck.
If this isn't the exact sequence for your computer, try a variation. The plug and play doesn't work on top of old software. Clear that old dog out and install the latest [Nov 2010 date] driver first, then plug in, then restart your computer.
Too Bad HP didn't publish this "fix" or even explain it on its woebegotten website. You can't drag this stuff up with a search engine. Next time you shop printers, tell the salesperson you deserve a big price break for putting up with all of this nonsense from HP.

Whenever I do a "lookup" from other software, or click on a hyperlink from outside the browser, the browser appears but the URL is not in the address window and the link never loads.why?

I may be reading an article while within Foxfire, and click on a hyperlink in the article...or I may be using Thunderbird email and click on a hyperlink within the email...or I may be using software like Quicken and do a "lookup" to a webpage...no matter, any time I click on the hyperlink, it will switch to Firefox automatically (good!) and the tab shows "loading", but a webpage never loads, and the URL address window never has anything in it. On the other hand, if I copy and paste the URL from whatever hyperlink I'm trying to use, and then paste that into Firefox's URL address window, it will open. How did I lose the auto load feature?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Opening the Canvas window and the Timeline from the browser

I am on an Intel 2x2.66 Dual Core using OS 10.4.11 and working in FCP 6.04.
I know this is a stupid question but having been a composer all my life, I am not up to speed on FCP and I seem to be unable to find the answer in my manual.
I dragged a QuickTime movie to the browser window. It is 500x375 in dimension and uses a H.264, AAC codecs. (info I got from the Get Info window).
The video shows up and plays in the Viewer window but I cannot get the Canvas window nor the Timeline to open.
I have tried selecting the sequence from the list in the browser and then control clicking it and looking at the shortcut menu there. The manual says I should choose Open Timeline from this shortcut menu but that is not even a choice I have. I don't mean it is grayed out, I mean there is no Open Timeline choice on the menu.
As an alternate, the manual suggests selecting the sequence and then choosing View > Sequence in Editor. I tried this also. There is no Sequence in Editor choice under the View menu. There is a Clip in Editor choice but when I select that it simply opens the movie in Quicktime.
I am aware that I am probably forgetting something simple or doing something stupid but I cannot figure it out. Help would be much appreciated.

the simple fact that is being eluded to here is that without an active sequence in the project (shown in the browser) there is no canvas or timeline. If you delete your sequence from the browser, the timeline and canvas will disappear, and you will have to create a new sequence, then open that sequence by double clicking it, to get those windows back. Canvas and Timeline display sequence content. No sequence, no c/t.

There is an on submit process multiplying the number you enter by two and populating the target item. The process is running only if there is number entered. If you enter any other string a pop-up window will show you an error message. The approach is simple:
1. create a process which does something on submit, if the supplied parameter is O.K. and nulls if not,
2. created a branch to an empty page which fires on submit and it is conditional - using process exception(s),
3. on the empty page there are two onload javascript calls:
onload="javascript:popUp2('f?p=&APP_ID.:201:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:::', 700, 700);javascript:redirect('f?p=&APP_ID.:50:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::');"
the first one is opening the required pop-up page and the next one is redirecting back to where we started.
I don't know if there are any security issues with this approach. It is not so clean, since you need to create an additional empty page. However, it saves some coding of extra scripts.

SQLPLUS 9.2 on Windows and the "&" character

Running Windows XP SP@ and SQLPlus 9.2
using the Insert statement and text with "&" within single quotes within the Insert Statement
The insert pauses and asks for input from the screen and removes the "&" character and the text after it.
I tried escape: "\&" with no lock..
How can I insert the "&" character within a text field delimited by single quotes?

Opening a dialog window from the JSX file

I can open a new window in a normal jsx script with
var dlgMain = new Window();
dlgMain.show();
But this code will give an EvalScript error when run inside a JSX file in an HTML5 extension. (What I actually need is to open a file selector window and get the full path of the file). How can I do this with an HTML5 extension?
