  • How to delete a calendar on iPhone when there are no accounts in Mail, Contacts

I have 3 calendars showing 1 Exchange and 2 Gmail.  There are no accounts in Mail, Contacts and Calendars and when I deleted the accounts I did select remove all data.  The mail and contacts deleted but not the calendar.
I have also tried sync with itunes only the calendar selected and checking the erase all other information box, however it simply adds the On My Mac Calendar for a total of 4 calendars.
Any suggestions are welcomed, I have tried a few other things that I read on discussion boards all with no luck, but keeping an open mind.
    Thanks!

  • How to erase servers parameters in Mail?

    Hello!
I can't send any emails from my email adress so i have to erase and recreate a new account in Mail. My problem is when i recreate a new account, the computer takes the the old parameters of the servers, and not the new ones. How can i erase the old parameters of the servers, before i erase the account?

Look in Mail / Preferences / Accounts tab to view your email accounts. From there it should be pretty easy to see the incoming/outgoing server information.

  • Why is mail erasing or resetting outgoing mail servers?

Yesterday morning, Mail had reset itself to have no outgoing mail servers. I manually reentered the outgoing mail server info, and Mail functioned properly until this morning. Today, Mail had reset the outgoin mail server onmy several email accounts to None--but it didn't "erase" the proper email servers' info.  I've now manually changed the outgoing mail server for each of my email accounts, and Mail is functioning properly.  I'd like to understand what's happenin and how to prevent the nuissance int he future.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Bill, I take it the Mac loses that info when logged out or restarted?
It sounds like your Main pref file is corrupted...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Trouble is it holds almost everything, not sure if you'd like to quit Mail trash that file & setup Mail all over again, or if it'd be better to try trashing it once Mail is up & running & have it attempt to rebuild that file from what is in memory.
Do you have any backups of that file?

  • How do i create more than one account in Mail with the same isp?

I am using suddenlink and have set up one account for Mail. It seems to work ok. I want to set up two others with the same provider but can't.
Let's call the first account, account1
    It works.
I set up another and call it account2.
It is using the same provider which already has the account set up on their end, but how do I set it up to work on my end? Does it need to use the same username as account1 or can it use the user name for account2? I hope this makes sense.
I just want to use three email addresses from the same provider with mail. I need some help. Please?

Initially you need to configure via the provider's own web based control panel multiple e-mail accounts. If they don't have one, work it out with their customer support to have three distinct mail accounts. Then you can setup multiple logins by adding new accounts to mail. Since mail checks all accounts per Mac OS X user account simultaneously, it probably is best to use different usernames on the same internet provider. If you don't want mail to show all the information from all three mail accounts simultaneously, configure Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Accounts to have multiple users on your computer, and configure each of the internet service provider accounts for each separaet user on Mac OS X.

  • Unable to create new email from Gmail account in Mail

I just installed gmail to retrieve messages within Mail: I can receive gmail messages and reply to gmail from Mail. However, I cannot create and send a new message in Mail using my gmail account; when I do I get the following error message:
    Enter Password for Account
    smtp.gmail.com:xxxx[account name]
The SMTP server "smtp.gmail.com" rejected the password for user "xxx[account name]"
Please re-enter your password, or cancel.
No matter how many times I add it correctly and click OK, the same message returns.

Google provides instructions for setting up a Gmail
    account in Mail here:
    http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13
    275
Make sure you’ve set up the account as described
    there.
That is what I used to set up my gmail account in Apples Mail App before your post. Those instructions say that when you click on the Advanced Tab that the port will switch to 995 - which it did for me. I do have a minor problem though. Is there any way to prevent emails sent from Mail via gmail from showing up in gmails web page? I don't really like web mail whatsoever!

  • Why can I no longer send email from my Hotmail SMTP account using Mail?

I can no longer send email from my Hotmail SMTP account using Mail. The connection doctor says it can't connect to the SMTP server. All the settings look to be correct and it was working fine before. I can still email using my iPhone with the same account.

Other may post it is some type of change with your ISP but the simple fact is this happen with Apple Mac Mail all the time.
IMHO Mac Mail is one of, if not the, worst mail program ever written.
Do yourself a big favor and start using some other mail program, any other Mail program.

  • Mail Accounts in Mail

I had to re-establish one of my e-maila accounts in Mail and I can't see any messages.  It shows me how many messages are unread in the left panel, but no messages are displayed in the main window.  Can someone suggest a fix?

If you deleted the account in Mail in order to re-create it, you deleted all messages in account mailboxes.  If the account was a POP account, those messages are probably not still on the server, but you can be sure by selecting the account, pressing command-i and seeing what messages are reported as being on the server.  If the account was IMAP, then the messages should all still be on the server.  You may simply need to force the account to sync (Mailbox -> Synchronize All Accounts).
If the messages are gone, do you have any backups?

  • How do you access more than one email account with Mail

I have multiple email accounts, and have already set up my pop, and smtp servers. But I cannot figure out how to access/ login into the other account. I have had one account setup for a while now. I just setup another account, but can only access the original account. I've looked under 'preferences' I can see that the new account has been created, but how do I log in to it? Can someone please help?
    Thanx,
    Mike Dunn

    Hello Mike.
You can access multiple accounts and account types with the Mail.app with one exception.
You can access multiple accounts with Mail by the same provider (same account type and shares the same incoming mail server) and each account can have the same password as long as they are true accounts which means each email address or account has its own user name which is usually the portion of the email address in front of the @ sign only but with some providers it is the entire email address.
An additional email address or account by the same provider that shares the same user name and password as the primary account is really an alias account and cannot be accessed as a separate account with Mail.
An alias account or address to a primary account can be accessed with the primary account by adding the email address for the alias to the email address field separated by a comma under the Account Information tab for the primary account's preferences.
All messages addressed to the alias email address will be received and delivered to the Inbox mailbox for the primary account.

  • Changing from ".Mac" account in Mail to "IMAP"

When I orginally set up my primary Mail account on my laptop it was ".Mac", rather than IMAP or POP. I'm finding I can't fully take advantage of the Alias features. Another posting here explains that if I delete the existing ".Mac" account and build a new one as IMAP, I'd then be able to create alias email addresses. In the present configuration I can "create them", but they don't appear as available in the pull down menu when I send mail. I'm a bit reluctant to delete my present .Mac account in Mail because I get a warning that all my mail will go away if I delete that account. To complicate matters, I sometimes work on my iMac at home, and that one's set up just the same as a ".Mac" account. Presumably I'd have to change that one too? Or is there some way I can make setting up the alias addresses work while keeping my primary account as a .Mac account? Obviously I'm not relating conceptually to what's going on here!
    Tom
PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Also have iMac dual core

I access my .Mac account as a .Mac type account with Tiger Mail and I use/access a single .Mac alias address at a time. I have no problems with the alias address being available as an address to choose from via the Accounts selection when composing a message.
Do you access more than one alias address at a time?
Does it make any difference when selecting Edit Email Aliases under the Email Address field available under the Account Information tab for the account preferences?
Since a .Mac account is really an IMAP type account and behaves in the same way, when deleting the account in Mail, no messages available at the server in the account's Inbox or any other server stored messages will be affected when deleting the account and re-creating it as an IMAP type account.
What you do lose when deleting an account in Mail are any locally stored mailboxes/messages for the account such as Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk if these messages are not stored on the server.
If you don't store Sent messages on the server, before deleting the account you need to do the following:
Create/utilize an "On My Mac" location mailbox which is stored on the hard drive and not associated with any account. Transfer the account's Sent messages from the locally stored Sent mailbox for the account to the user created "On My Mac" location mailbox.
Delete and re-create the account in Mail as an IMAP type account. All server stored messages in the account's Inbox mailbox will be available again in the account's Inbox mailbox and after sending a message with the newly created IMAP account which will create a new Sent mailbox for the account, you can transfer the old sent messages from the "On My Mac" location mailbox to the new Sent mailbox for the account so no messages will be lost.

  • How do I setup multiple emails accounts on mail for mac pro ?

  • I have 3 email accounts in Mail on Macbook Pro.  Mail is only being sent from 1 account.

I have 3 email accounts in Mail.  Mail is only being sent from 1 account, even though I select one of the other accounts in the "from" field.  In my sent box, the "From" field says the accout I selected, but all recipients say they receive it from a different account.  I set my composing preferences "send new messages from" to the main account, but all my mail is still being sent from a different account.  I cannot see that this is happening, only people receiving it can.  I noticed it because when they reply, it goes to a different account than what I sent to them.  Any suggestions with what I should do?

Thank you!  Funny.  I had just found that answer eleswhere:  http://simonwheatley.co.uk/2013/02/apple-mail-sending-email-from-the-wrong-accou nt/

  • How do I create subfolders UNDER multiple accounts in Mail, similar to Outlook?

I am trying to move from Outlook 2011 MAC to Apple Mail. I understand how to drag my folders (mbox) but I have 3 mail accounts in Outlook and want to create these same accounts in Mail...followed by the specific folders under each mail account.
Mail doesn't seem to allow me to simply drag a subfolder under a particular account. I'm on the latest version of Mountain Lion, as an FYI.
Can someone help me because there has to be a way to keep things organized by email account and respective subfolder.
    Thanks,

  • I have 2 POP accounts and 2 IMAP accounts in Mail.....

I have 2 POP accounts and 2 IMAP accounts in Mail 6.2 (1499), how do I ensure they all leave messages on the server?
I was trying to check with my ISP why they were not sending me notice of my monthly bill. They said they were, and gave me the dates of when the missing ones were sent. They went to check my inbox so that they could re-send the offending messages and said there were no messages there! Hence my question, How do I make sure that messages are left on the server? I have looked in Mail/Preferences, and certainly in the POP accounts the Remove copy from Server is unchecked, on the IMAP accounts, there doesn't appear to be a means of leaving on the server, which, in essence, shouldn't worry me because they are different ISP addresses, (1 = icloud and the other is BT.) and only the one address of the POP account is the one the ISP is sending messages to me.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

I have, indeed, checked with my ISP and they do accept imap accounts. So I followed religiously their instructions, published in their setting e mail information for Mountain Lion website. The instructions were quite simple, and choosing imap was as easy as setting POP mail. however, the net result was that I could never connect with the servers to do anything with the mail. I know they are set up correctly, but when it tried to send mail, after a while an error message came up saying that it couldn't connect and gave me the option of dealing with a "connection doctor" or some such system. This I clicked on and noted that there were an awful lot of servers that it was trying to connect to some of which had been removed when I removed the setup addresses. The ones I wanted were, in fact, showing as connected!! It was obviously checking on anything that had been used in setting a server name from way back when and suffering with a severe bout of indigestion!
I think what really needs to happen is to get iMAC/Mountain Lion to regurgitate all that rubbish which is no longer a requirement, since I am only using three addresses, one from icloud and two from my ISP. I do not need the clogging up from redundant server names, but it seems that the MAC hangs on to everything just in case I may want to go back to them rather than set them from afresh!! I am not feeling too confident in trying to set the address that originally showed the problem, my BT one, and since this morning, it is almost working 100%, I'll leave well alone and see if it settles down. (One step forward and nineteen backwards!!)
    Cheers
