Erase date/time digits from footage

Dear friends,
I've searched the Web and these forums in search of the perfect method to get rid of the date and time digits from a series of footage clips. I've discovered that one of the suggested ways to make them disappear is to apply a blur mask, but after a series of tests, it looks they are still too visibile, even after applying the mask.
Does anybody know if there is a plug-in or a way to make those time stamp digits disappear from the affected footage?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

All you can do is make it look less bad. You cannot remove these kinds of pixels, they are part of the image. Reshoot the footage using a different shooter, someone who knows how to operate the camera.
My favorite related dufus story: Guy comes to me with footage he shot of his kid playing soccer. He says, "My kid kicked the goal but you can't see him. It's digital. You can edit out the people standing in front of the camera, right?"

  • How do I see the time stamp from footage

    I was wondering if it is possible to see time stamps from footage taken by GoPro camera in FCPX. I can see the duration of the clips and the DATE it was created. I would like to see the actual time it was created. I have 2 cameras that were shooting at the same time and I would like an easier way of sifting through all of the clips to mary them up.
    Is there a way to see the time stamp of when the video was taken?
    Thanks

    Got ya. I will suggest one more thing: You can add "markers" at points where you can visually (or aurally) see (or hear) a synch point. Once you add these markers, "synchronize clip" will begin to grind out the rest.
    Again, if you look at the above tutorial, I think it explains this under "manual" synch.
    I don't mean to push this upon you, but... FCPX is GREAT for multi-cam synch. It is the best--I think--in the industry.
    Good luck. Sorry if I'm of little help beyond this.

  • How do I update Date Time Digitized to match an updated Capture Time for a DNG file?

    I am updating capture time based on GPS Time (a bit OCD, I know) but when I change Capture Time the Date Time Digitized value does not change. This in in LR 4.3 and is not affected by whether on not the Catalog is set to 'Write date or time changes into proprietary raw files'. Maybe this is a problem for DNG files only.

    GreSep wrote: I saw another LR discussion that said that with LR 4.3 updating Capture Time would also update Date Time Digitized but it does not do so for me on my DNGs (and as of last month ALL my images were converted to DNGs).
    One or two intermediate versions of LR 3 (perhaps Lr 3.6) set DateTimeDigitized when you gave the Metadata > Edit Capture Time command. But for people managing scans in which the capture time of the original image was different than the scan time, this behavior overwrote their scan times, so Adobe backed out of that change.  Before and since those versions, the Metadata > Edit Capture Time command just changes the EXIF:DateTimeOriginal and related fields in XMP and IPTC.

  • Date Time Original & Date Time Digitized bug

    I have noticed that in Lightroom (1.1 or 1.2, doesn't matter) my photographs display WRONG Date Time Original & Date Time Digitized in the Metadata section. Both are exactly 30 minutes behind the actual time the photos were shot - eg., if I have shot a photo at 7:00pm, it will be shown as though it was shot at 6:30pm. Bridge correctly displays both this info. Any suggestions on how to rectify this info in Lightroom? Thanks,

    If you are shooting RAW, take care with "Edit capture time". There is
    evidence that it causes a rewrite of the RAW file by LR. This
    kind of a rewrite is dangerous, sometimes causing corruption. See

  • Date/time conversion from UTC to CET

    Hello,
    Jjust a little question to our SAP BI community!
    Is there a BI function/ggod way that converts a (datetime) string DDMMYYYYHH:MM:SS  in UTC time zone into a string DDMMYYYYHH:MM:SS in  CET timezone ?
    We receive this string in input in a flat file and need it to convert from UTC to CET.
    Or do you know any way to convert a date/time from IUTC to CET, eveen using an ABAP function?
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi,

  • Date time string from UME-SPML interface

    Hi,
    I am using the UME-SPML interface to manage users in SAP UME and using AS ABAP user management as the user store for UME.
    I have noticed a problem in the date time string returned in the SPML search response when I search for a user. When you search for a user, normally you get 3 date time strings for "validfrom", "validto" and "lastmodifydate".
    These are what have been returned in the SPML response:
    <attr name="lastmodifydate"><value>20101019030648Z</value></attr>
    <attr name="validfrom"><value>20101019010000Z</value></attr>
    <attr name="validto"><value>25001230010000Z</value></attr>
    When I check the same user with the user management administration console, I get these:
    Date of Account Creation: Oct 19, 2010 2:06:48 PM (Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales))
    Start Date of Account Validity: Oct 20, 2010 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales))
    End Date of Account Validity: Dec 31, 2500 12:00:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales))
    The timezone I am in is GMT10 (Australia Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales)) and now we in day light saving so effectively we are in GMT11 now.
    You can see that the datetime string for "lastmodifydate" correctly reflects what's shown on user management administration console.
    But the datetime strings for "validfrom" and "validto" seems to get the conversion wrong: both seem to be using 12 hour format instead of 24 hour format. (2010 10 19 01 00 00Z should be 2010 10 19 13 00 00Z and 2500 12 30 01 00 00Z should be 2500 12 30 13 00 00Z)(I have put in a space in the string to break up the date time components)
    Anyone has any idea what went wrong here?
    Regards,
    GG

    Also search service.sap.com for the term "sy-zonlo".
    Personally I am a member of the [flat earth society|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat_Earth_Society] when it get to this topic, because it causes no end of problems.
    Most customers simply stop operations on 31.12.xxxx or before, or alternately use reporting tools to make corrections afterwards.
    In the security realm, SAP also respects server side timestamp tolerances (only a few seconds are allowed).
    Time is server time in my books. Some people work late, others early - and there is nothing you can control to stop a customer in the US from placing an order via a system in Japan anyway.
    Anyway, this is probably a program error with the 12 hour format in the component software or possibly the API interface to user management in your release so you should open a customer message with SAP (my best guess).
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Reading date/time type from Microsoft Access in LabWindows 7.1

    Hi,
    I'm afraid I'm having some trouble reading some date information from an MS Access table.  I assume it's returned as a string (and this may be my first mistake) but when I use DBBindColChar I just get garbage information.  This is the code I'm using:
      sprintf(queryString, "SELECT date_time, type, serial_number, Voltage_at_G5_V, Voltage_at_G6_V \
                            FROM gain \
                            WHERE serial_number=%lf \
                            ORDER by date_time", *serialNumber);
    followed by...
      queryHandle = DBActivateSQL (pmtDataHandle, queryString);
    and....
        resCode = DBBindColChar (queryHandle, 1, 22, internal_date, &dateStatus, "");
      resCode = DBBindColChar (queryHandle, 2, 4, internal_type, &typeStatus, "");
      resCode = DBBindColDouble (queryHandle, 3, internalSerialNumber, &serialNumberStatus);
      resCode = DBBindColDouble (queryHandle, 4, &g5VRead, &g5VStatus);
      resCode = DBBindColDouble (queryHandle, 5, &g6VRead, &g6VStatus);
    Is there anything special about the type date/time that I am not taking care of?  All of the other columns read back fine....
    Thanks in advance

  • How can I erase data on TC from older MBP?

    I had a 1st. Gen. MBP and all it's data was backed up on my 1TB TC.
    I Recently bought the new 15" MBP and restored all data I had on older version by using my TC.
    My problem came when I turned on the TM on my new MBP...
    It made a full Backup, duplicating all data I had on my older version. and lowering the free space I had on my TC. instead of just keep going with my new MBP.
    How can I erase old data from my previous MBP on my TC?

    Welcome to the discussions!
    Open your Hard Drive and look under SHARED for the TC icon
    Click the icon and then double click the Time Capsule folder
    You should now see several xxxxx.sparsebundle files
    Each sparsebundle file displays the name of the computer and its MAC address
    Click the sparsebundle file that you want to delete
    Click the gear shaped icon just above and select Move to Trash
    Be very careful as the file will be deleted quickly and cannot be recovered.

  • Want to remove time code from footage of a Video_TS folder

    I received footage my client wants cut but the footage she received from her videographers is a DVD with the time code on it. Im pretty sure I cant, but is it possible to remove the timecode window or do I need to get a version from the videographer sans timecode?

    Sounds like a burn-in to me.
    I'd ask for a version without.
    Also, you're going to have to transcode to an editable format if your stuff comes on a playable DVD.
    While you're asking for a version without the TC burn-in, ask for a quicktime instead of a playable DVD.

  • How convert date/time from xml in xdp(Designer)?

    Hi, i want to convert date/time format from xml in Designer, date/time value in xml is NOT in common format YYYY-MM-DD (if is in a common format i can do this with pattern)
    I have a "DateTime" Field in Xdp can get from Xml date and time:
    In XML <DateTime>DD-MM-YYYY</DateTime> i want to convert in XDP in DateTime Field in "DD-April-YYYY"
    Can i do this?

    You can do this way..
    Bind the date field to your XML tag.
    Set the display pattern for the date field.
    In the initialize event of the date field place the following code.
    Set JavaScript as language.
    var dtStr = this.rawValue;
    var pos1=dtStr.indexOf("-");
    var pos2=dtStr.indexOf("-",pos1+1);
    var strMonth=dtStr.substring(0,pos1);
    var strDay=dtStr.substring(pos1+1,pos2);
    var strYear=dtStr.substring(pos2+1);
    //Assign the formatted value to the Date field.
    this.rawValue = strYear + "-" + strMonth + "-" + strDay;
    Thanks

    select substr(v_variable, 1, instr(v_variable, 'T') - 1) from dual;       --> Replace v_variable with column name, if you are referring to table column and Dual with corresponding Table name.And yes, string between T and Hyphen ( - ) is the Time format and the string following Hyphen ( - ) is the difference of Time zone from UTC.
    See a small demo attached:
    alter session set nls_timestamp_tz_format = 'DD-Mon-YYYY"T"HH24:MI:SS.FF-TZH:TZM';

  • Date/time in LR 2.1 -- still not what I expect

    Date/time of images that I scanned and input the dates outside of Lightroom are now working better, but still not what I would call correct. If I use the Library Filter, the date selection is correct under "Date".
    This is the date that Lightroom calls "Date Time Original" in the metadata panel available on the right side. But when I select a folder and ask LR to sort based on "Capture Time", it sorts on what it calls "Date Time" not what it calls "Date Time Original". What I put in Date Time is the scan date, usually called the "Date Time Digitized". (I care when they are digitized because that indicates the quality of the scanner.) This shows up as "Date Time" in the metadata panel.
    So why is the metadata search based on "Date Time Original" and the sorting by "Date Time Digitized". Surely most people want a sort on "Date Time Original" (which is the same as LR's "Date Time" in a digital camera) not some other date. If they think some people really want the other date, then it should be a choice under sort.
    The sort field is called "Capture Time". OK, I agree, I did scan the files on that date. So in that sense it is the "capture time" but MY opinion is I "captured" them on film on the "Date Time Original" date and that is always the date I want them sorted by. The other date is just for reference in my case.
    If "Capture Time" is really what the designers of LR think I want, why is that not the date in the library filter?

    Holy macaroni! I think I got it right this time. But from now on I'm using Integer.toBinaryString(int) ...or my own special brand of sluggish code he he. Thanks for the input though. Really appreciate it.

                if(rest > 0)
                    tall = 1;
                else
                    tall = 0;
                result = result.concat(result.valueOf(tall));
            return (reverse(result));//returnerer den omvendte rekkeflgen av binrtall

                System.out.println(tegn[index]);
                index++;
            index = 0; //reset index
            String newString = new String(tegn);

  • Capturing HI8 tapes: Date/Time

    Hi all,
    I recently started to capture my HI8 tape collections from an old HI8 Video Cam via Fire Wire into Premiere Pro CC 2014.
    The data/time when the footage was taken is visible for around 3 to 5 seconds in the Camcorder display at the beginning of each tape
    but it's not visible anymore if the media is imported into Premiere. Is there any chance to make the date/time stamp visible? Is there
    a setting that I may have overseen or any chance to add it manually?
    Thanks a lot

    No version of Premiere (Pro or Elements) will work with ANY device that does not connect to a Firewire port
    EXCEPT... you may buy a card (I think Blackmagic is one) and then use the device driver supplied by the vendor to "link" the card to Premiere (I did this back in 2002 with a Pinnacle DV500 card)
    Premiere will NOT work with a USB device... as I said above... you may use a TI chip for adding a firewire card http://forums.adobe.com/thread/940242 to then use something like a Grass Valley product
