Erase driver from Networking list

Hi,
I realized that in the Networking window appears a driver that I had not given access to be connected to my laptop, so I tried to erase it, but I can not. Does anybody knows about that? Thanks a lot!!!
Enriqueta.

I got that, and the one I want to erase it is not in that list. I feel like I don´t know how to explain myself, I´m sorry!!! Let me try it again.
When I open the finder window I have a menu in the left side with icons, the first one says PowerBook G4..., next says Networks, and the last one says Macintosh HD. After that there is the list of the content of my laptop: Desktop, Applications, Documents, Music, etc, etc.
When I click in the Networks, it appears a list, and there is the one I do not know why is there, so I want to erase it. In other words, I don´t want this device is entering in my info.
I hope to be more especific this time, and I apologize to confuse you...

Go to your Spotlight search. (Swipe from left to right at your primary home screen.)
    Type in 'Facebook'.
You should see your Facebook app.
Unless you held down an app icon until it 'wiggles', then hit the black 'x' to delete it, you didn't delete the app.

I can't erase songs from my wish list.    When I click on a x on right, the song disapper for a split second and comes back.  Songs stay on my wish list after purchased, filling up my wish list.    It is not taking any more than 73 songs into the list.

  • Deleting neighbors wifi from network list

My neighbor has an unsecured network and everytime I log on to my mac it picks her's up. I want to delete her forever and keep my secured network always as the defualt. How?

Go to "System Preferences", select "Network". The left-side of the network panel has a list of network types (e.g. you'll see your wired network, your Airport network, Bluetooth, Firewire, etc. etc.) Click on the "Airport" network to highlight it. In the lower-right corner there's a button that says "Advanced...", click it!
A new window will slide down with several categories listed across the top... the left-most, labeled "Airport" is probably already selected, but if not, select it now.
You will see a box with a list of WiFi network names titled "Preferred Networks:". Find the network you WANT your Mac to join first and, with your mouse, select it and drag it up to the top of the list. You could also select your neighbors network and either (a) use the "-" button to delete it from the list or just drag it to the very bottom of the list so that it'll be least-preferred.
Click the "Ok" button to save your changes and close the "Advanced" panel, then click the "Apply" button back in the Network preferences panel. Quit "System Preferences".
Your computer should no longer try to join the neighbors network.

    Tim

  • Commands to copy apps to local drive from networkshare and installing via unattend install

    Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of deploying and testing Windows 8.1 with different settings via unattended answer file. I would like to test out with another settings during unattended install but I'm having a hard time to implement it. Here is the scenario, I've a
server named WDS-DEP-SERV with a hard drive portioned into 2. One is C and other is E. On my E drive, I've a bunch of .exe apps saved. I would like my unattended answer file to pull those .exe apps over to the local drive from network share and install them
as the unattended install takes place. I'm looking for a command that can help me achieve it in a silent mode. During testing before, I was able to have my unattended file to pull VMware tools drivers from network share under RunSynchronousCommand parameter
with domain credentials of the network share and it installed successfully. For example, like this below.
    \\WDS-DEP-SERV\E\Distribution\Drivers\setup64.exe /s /v "/qn REBOOT=ReallySuppress" /l C:\Windows\Temp\vmware_tools_install.log
I was searching online and came across a lot of things but none answered what I'm looking for. Can someone please reply back with the answers on how can I implement it in my unattended file.
    1) To be able to have unattended file pulling drivers from network share, copy them over to local drive during unattended installation process and execute them silently. I need a command to pull this off.
    2) What pass should I use in unattended file?
    3) So far, I've used RunSynchronouscommand  under Windows Deployement Neutral during "Specialize" pass to install just VMware tools. Is there a way to execute all apps in one go instead of doing it one at a time via Synchronouscommand? Please
correct me if I'm wrong, Is it true every time you use Synchronouscommands for various different apps or scripts to pull from network share, you'll have to use network credentials under each and every Synchronouscommands section. Like, if I add 4 SyncrhonousCommands
to the unattended file to pull 4 different apps or scripts from network share, I must provide network share credentials for each of those. Can it be just one time network share credentials under those and they all get pulled and executed during unattended
    install?
Again, please if someone can get back to help me out. I would really appreciate it. Hope to hear from someone soon. Below is my unattended answer file in case someone would like to see it to understand better.

  • HT3275 Time machine at home and it will not allow me to remove the listing of my external hard drive from the excluded files list.

Please help guys, I have a Time machine at home and it will not allow me to remove the listing of my external hard drive from the excluded files list.
I am trying to use time machine to back up the hard drive. For backing up from Macbooik pro and Imac, there is no problem. It seems to not want to allow the external drive to be removed from the Excluded list and as such will not back up from it.
Is there a way to be able to transfer files (music, movies etc) to time machine, format the external drive then put the files back to hard drive?
Sorry it is a long winded question but it is driving me nuts that I cant sort this out.
The <Macbook and Imac are both running mountain lion.
    Thanks Guys

As for the hard drive to which you have never been able to write, is it by any chance in NTFS format? OS X can read NTFS for importing files, but it does not contain code for writing on an NTFS volume. That's a choice, not a bug.
There is third-party software available to install NTFS-writing capability into OS X. An example is Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X. Another alternative would be to use a disk format that both Macs and Windows systems can use for both reading and writing; this would require either a new drive or erase the existing data.
If by "the new system software" you mean OS X 10.9 Mavericks, you may want to repost that portion of your query in the Mavericks forum at https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/os_x_mavericks . I haven't made the leap yet.
I don't know what other problems you have been having, so I cannot comment on them. You don't seem to have any other recent postings on these forums.

  • Need help removing hard drive from Time Machine exclusion list

I have a 1TB Western Digital Essential hard drive with about 500Gb of music, movies and other assorted data tethered directly to my iMac. I also have a 1TB Time Capsule that serves as my wireless router and connects to my iMac over the wireless network. I'm trying to use the Time Capsule as the ultimate backup device, to backup the data on my iMac and the tethered 1TB Western Digital hard drive via Time Machine. It already backs up all the data on my iMac, but unfortunately, Time Machine places the 1TB Western Digital hard drive in the exclusion list (which I understand is normal), but will not let me click the minus sign to remove the drive from the exclusion list (which is where I'm at a loss). Someone please help me find a way around this as I've been unable to find a way to remove the Western Digital drive from the exclusion list and have Time Capsule access its data. Many thanks in advance for any help with this.

    gotham,
Forgive me, but are you highlighting the drive in the list before you click the "-" button?
Also, were is the external drive? Connected to your Mac or the TC. If the TC, then Time Machine won't backup the external drive. It needs to be connected to the Mac directly.
Otherwise, you can delete the TM .plist.
*Delete The Time Machine Preference .plist*
Go to --> Macintosh HD / Library / Preferences (Note: NOT Home / Library / Preferences).
    Drag the .plist file labeled,
    com.apple.TimeMachine.plist
to the root level of your Macs’ hard drive.
    Reboot your computer.
This .plist file is automatically recreated at startup if it is missing.
You will need to reselect your Time Capsule in the TM Prefs for backup.
Now try 'removing' the other drive form the exclusion list.
Let us know if this helped resolve your issue.
    Cheers!

  • Adobe files missing from network drive after editing...

Problem started around June 1st.  PDF files are shared on the network drive.  After I edit one of the forms and resave it, the networked computers can no longer see the file listed on the network drive.  Only the hosting computer still sees them.  Also, if I resave one of the files as a new name, it will reappear on the network.  Any ideas?  Adobe Reader 11.0.03

Yes, the problem is still continuing. However, after looking into as much of it as I can, I can confirm something that r.p.b_ started stumbling on. The files are deleted IF AND ONLY IF a user is using the built-in Windows 7 disc burning utility AND is dragging
and dropping the files to the drive from a network share; this doesn't happen locally. If you watch what happens in the native folder, the files are literally scrubbed from the drive as they are processed and added to the image. However, if you Right Click
on the files and copy them, then Right Click->Paste onto the drive, they remain. (The keyboard shortcuts also worked.) Also, 3rd party disc burning utilities function they way the should. (In other words, they don't delete the files.)
My speculation is that there's a bug in the coding that sees the network share as a temporary buffer file while the image is being prepared. Then, as the files are processed in what ever way is needed, the "temporary buffer" is being deleted. The result:
lost files on a network share. But, this is just speculation.

  • Can I exclude a backup network drive from iTunes?

I have just installed iTunes on my PC after using WMP and WinAmp for many years.
I have a sizeable collection of MP3's on my computer AND on a network back-up drive. When I installed iTunes, not only did it access my internal drives (c: & d:) but it also imported into the library my Back-Up drive (k:).
I want to EXCLUDE the backup/network drive from the iTunes library, but do want to keep my hubby's HD in the network loop for music.
I can not figure out how to do this. Please Help me remove all the files that are on my back-up drive from the iTunes library. Not all of my MP3z as duplicates in the library at the moment because hubby's computer is DOWN at the moment but I still never want iTunes to access our mp3 back-up drive [K:].

I wrote a program to remove tracks from iTunes based on the file path (among other things). You can use it to remove all tracks from the K drive very easily. Go here:
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/index.html
and click the download button. Extract the ZIP (teridonsitunesscripts.zip) somewhere, and run "teridonsitunesscripts.exe".
In the window that appears, select "itunesremove_bylocation" and click "Run Selected Script".
A new cmd prompt window will appear, asking you for a pattern to search for. Enter <pre>^K:</pre> (thats a caret (shift-6)) and hit enter. You'll then get a listing all your playlists. Select the Library playlist by typing "1" and hit enter. The program will automatically remove all tracks from iTunes that are on the K: drive.
The files will not be removed from the K: drive itself unless you actually have K: set up as your Library location. It certainly sounds like you do not. However, if you want to double check, from the Edit menu select Preferences. On the Advanced tab, under the General tab, check the "iTunes Music folder location". As long as it isn't K: you don't have to worry.
The forum TOS requires me to say: "I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link" because I have a paypal donation link on my webpage. The program is free (donation totally optional).

    Rob

  • Booting from Optical Drive - Drive omitted from boot list

Hey Guys - I've read similar posts yet none seems to offer a solution. My machine came preinstalled with windows 8 which I upgraded to 8.1 and last week upgraded  to Windows 10 with only one issue (display driver). The machine itself has a recovery partition. And the product key is obviously embedding within the motherboard. Obviously with the Windows 10 upgrade I am concerned about recovery issues as I believe the upgrade effectively makes the recovery partition useless (I can only go by what I've read) therfore I downloaded the winddows 10 64-bit iso from microsoft and I attempted to book the iso from my optical drive but the drive was not listed in the boot options. I'm not an amateur in this regard and when I was using 8.1 on this machine i booted from the optical drive a dvd to recover my password. I've included a screenshot to show the set up but I'm sure that'll need to be approved so in the meantime the BIOS boot set up was as follows:CD ROM BOOT - ENABLEDLEGACY SUPPORT - ENABLEDSECURE BOOT - DISABLED UEFI BOOT ORDER - SAME AS LEGACY LEGACY BOOT ORDERUSB CD/DVD ROM DRIVEINTERNAL CD/DVD ROM DRIVEUSB DISKETTE ON KEY/USB HARD DISKNOTEBOOK HARD DRIVE! NETWORK ADAPTER  - (network adaptor boot disabled by the way) Now I'm trying to boot from teh internal dvd/cd drive not usb and i have swapped them around it made no difference. If i can post two screen shots i'll also post the boot list. I should also add the the disc itself boots on another machine no problem and the internal optical drive on my HP machine passes all the HP diagnostics. So with all that said - what is the issue. I did contact HP support on twitter who ran out of ideas and suggested i wait on windows 10 updates from microsoft (why? lol) but for me this seems like the bios just inst reconising the optical drive - it's as if secure boot hasn't been turned off. So i start the machine - press Esc then F9 and select boot list and my optical drive isn't listed. FYI - I even tried refreshing the bios image but this has not effect either - so advice please?!

STILL NO ONE CAN OFFER A WORKAROUND FOR THIS? WHERE ARE ALL THESE EXPERTS???

  • Unable To See Network Drive from outside Home Network..even when using DynDNS

    Hi
I have just got a Freecom Media storage Network Center which I have attached to my WRT150N router.
I am attemting to permit access to authorised users to files on the drive via the internet (presumably via ftp).
Here is what I have done:
Swiitched on DynDNS on the web admin page in the router (used DynDNS.com free service.
Obtained a user addess which is middle-earth.dyndns-home.com from DynDNS, which is linked to my Virgin Media IP
Switched on Port Range forwarding with
    Ports 20-21 as ftp
    Port 80 as http
    Port 57 as DNS
    Selected "both protocols"
Set the IP address to route to 192.168.1.42 - (this is the IP address which the web based software for the Network Drive reports as.
However the configuration of the TCP/IP protocol in PC attached by LAN cable to the router is "Obtain an IP address automatically" (i.e. dynamic?).  If I change these settings and specify static IP addresses   will I not muck up internet connection to Virgin Media.
what I was hoping to acheive was typing     ftp:// middle-earth.dyndns-home.com
in the address bar would let me see the network drive from anywhere!
I have tried using DNS pinging on Ports 20, and 21 but that tells my ports are closed.  i have also tried switching off my software firewall (Kaspersky) and the router firewall, but this does nothing.
What have I done wrong or no done!!
    Thanks

I think the problem is solved.
The Freecom device needs to use a different part of its interface to be assigned a static IP address, which I have now done.  At my last try it was visible from two independent views outside of my network.
On another front, I am appalled at Linksys or Cisco, who are not prepared to advice on getting more from their produicts if they are 'out of warranty'.  The online chat tech said I could ring an 0871 premium line number in the UK.  When I rang that, I was told as tthat as my unit is not faulty and was out of warranty I would have to use their pay per incident  service.
That is not a way to deal with customers.  When it comes to upgrading or replacing network equipment, I will look to a provider who is interested in their customers.

  • Hi. Does anyone know how to delete my guest network from the list of network choices that everyone in the neighborhood sees when picking a network?  Followed helpful suggestions on this site to delete the netwk but it still appears.  Appreciate any help!

Hi.  I'm trying to make my guest network disappear from the list of network choices that appears to everyone in the neighborhood.  Even though I followed the great suggestions on how to delete the network, it's still appearing in the list that everyone sees.  It has my name and would prefer to get rid of it.
    Please help!  Many thanks!

Thank you for not only the tip but also especially the research showing that for anybody other that those using Wi-Fi for the first time the network wouldn't disappear.  I wanted it to disappear for everyone so.....I finally solved it by resetting the Airport Extreme to the factory settings and starting over from scratch!  It worked! Yay!!!!!
So, for everyone that has had this problem (and I've read many of the same complaints in different places on the Internet), you must go into Airport Utility and check the box stating that you want to reset it to the factory settings.  Do not do it with a paper clip and the reset button on the box; I tried that first and it did not work.  You must reset it via the Airport Utility.  Then just start over and you will have the choice to NOT check the box to Enable Guests.  If you want to enable guests, just be sure not to use your name or you're back to the same problem. Apple is so great with everything...wouldn't it have been so easy for them to just put this in the manual somewhere?????  Thanks for all your help.    Hope this helps others!

How can I erase (or remove) the hard drive from a dead Time Capsule?

I found this having had the same problem...
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=553818
Having removed the hard drive I'm finding I can't reformat it. I manage to mount the HD but Disk Utility crashes when trying to format (HD attached to Mac via Newer Tech. SATA cables to USB) and causes what I think is a kernal panic on my Mac which hard crashes. I see 3 partitions when attempting to mount one of which is AFP. Anyone got any ideas about how to do this? I've dug around but the only progress I've made is to note others have had to work around ACL's when replacing the logic board of the TC. Not sure if this even relates to the problem. However the tool for doing this seems to have been removed from SL. (Forum references to this procedure all relate to 10.5).
