Erased hard dirve. How to determine correct OS X to reinstall, and if I need to order DVDs or if I can reinstall online
The hard drive was erased. Disk utility suggests that Snow Lep. can be reinstalled however I beleve the OS X was an earlier version. 1) how to determine correct OS X to re install. 2) do I need to resinstall of disks over can it be done over the internet? Thanks in advance
You need to start with the version that was originally installed.
If you are in the US call Apple Customer Support 1-800-767-2775, provide the Serial Number and specifications of the Mac, and for a reasonable fee, they will supply a replacement set of system discs (if available).
The discs will be for the original version of the OS that was pre-installed when the Mac was manufactured.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion you won’t have been given disks. Instead you use the recovery partition or internet recovery:

2. Create the partition and insert the Windows disc
3. Your computer will restart into the Windows DVD. Erase BOOTCAMP when it asks for a volume
4. When the install ends, install the drivers

How to determine correct NLS_LANG settings

My Database server is RHEL 5.8 32bit with Oracle 11gR2, nls_characterset is AL32UTF8
My client machine is Windows XP SP2 32bit, Chinese Simplified
What should be the correct NLS_LANG settings for my client machine?
When I am not setting the NLS_LANG value, the sqlplus seemed to work, but when I set NLS_LANG=AL32UTF8, the sqlplus gives me below error:

Erased hard drive, how do I reload OS Lion with out DVDs?
Hi,
I made a huge mistake of erasing my hard drive. When I turn the computer on it only appears a question mark.
I dont have the restore DVDs or restore image.
Is there another way of restoring OS X Lion 10.7.3?

ChristianHow did you erase your drive? Are you saying you do not have a Recovery Partition? You've tried booting while holding down Comman + R? If so, you've got a big problem on your hands.
Got another computer you can download Lion to? If not, looks like a trip to an Apple store. -
How to determine which languages available with portal, and how to install
I have a customer who may have a need for languages that might not be default delivered with the portal. They are able to install languages in an ABAP environment (unicode). What I'm trying to understand is:
1.) What languages are available after a NW70 portal installation? How can I determine this? The pull-down list of languages in the UME record for a user is extensive, but they aren't all actually active because I tried some like Korean and the logon to portal was still English. But then I tried Thai and that seemed to work, as did French, Spanish, etc.
2.) How can I install needed langauges for the portal?
I realize that even with the language support, the actual portal content needs to support those. But that's an entirely different issue.Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm in the right section, but I'm wondering if it's possible to use an Adobe program to restore actual colors in a black and white photo? If there's one thing missing in a B&W photograph, it's any vestige of color information. All you have is gray scale. You may NEED to determine the real colors, but without a color photograph to use as a reference image, you're out of luck. -

I am a SQL Server Database Administrator who is monitoring some SharePoint databases. On a daily basis it seems that they are creating new databases but don't delete the databases that they are no longer using. For example, they might be testing
on a development server and if things aren't working properly instead of asking that the databases be deleted they just go ahead and create new databases to do what ever they need to do. Is there a way on the SQL Server side to determine which SharePoint
databases are being used and which ones aren't being used? Or does one determine this information through the SharePoint Central Administration console?

How do I correct version conflicts between host and RT engine?
I was running LabVIEW RT7.0 on a host PC (WinXP) and PXI-8145 system. I installed LV7.1 and LVRT7.1 on the host. However, the software versions in MAX still report as 7.0
I would like to upgrade to 7.1 on my 8145-RT. I cannot run 7.1 on the host and target the 7.0 RT engine (results in version conflict). Version 7.0 is installed on C:, but 7.1 is installed on D: due to space.
How can I get MAX to recognize my latest version (which should allow my to download it to the PXI)?

C:\RT Images contains only a single folder for NI-PAL
However, I backed it up and copied the RT Images folder from D:, but still the same effect (MAX thinks 7.0 is the latest LabVIEW version).
D:\RT Images\LabVIEW\7.0 contains subfolders and install scripts (e.g., 7002.rts)
D:\RT Images\LabVIEW\7.1 contains subfolders but no install scripts. Also, there are many fewer files in these subfolders than in the 7.0 folder. I'm worried about trying to manually install from the 7.1 folder.

my hard drive crashed. I regularly duplicated it to an external hard drive. So can do I find the files I need to recover my music library, audible books and podcasts to my new hard drive?
Restore the iTunes folder from <User's Music> in the backup to <User's Music> in the rebuilt computer, install iTunes. Job done.

How do I correct error messages MSVCR80.dll and windows error 7 126?
After installing the latest itunes update, I received two error messages: MSVCR80.dii and windows error 7 126? I cannot access itunes at all and am eager ti fux these errors. If Apple itunes is at fault I sure wish they would fix the problem. At least I'll save money if I can't access itunes!

Yes, Apple does have a screening process or else there would be floods of scams. When you get your email receipt, click the Report a Problem link, follow the steps and say the item was not as described (depending on how you define "useless"). Sometimes a bad one slips through. -

bhavani.I can't give you specific guidelines as every client/cube is different based on needs. Here is some general info.
Cube refresh is a pretty generic name for a number of things.
It could be as you say clearing and updating the cube, or just updating, or running calculations or running restructure operations. It's pretty much what you need it to be for your environment. As to timing, There are two timings to consider. First, the frequency of refresh. Is it Monthly, weekly, Daily, hourly? That depends on the application and the needs of the users. The second thing is how long the refresh takes. Is it seconds, minutes, hours, etc. This has to be considered to meed the User's SLA and hopfully fit into a batch processing window. Refreshes can be done manually or automated with batch or shell scripts (depending on the OS) and scheduled through whatever scheduling package is on the box (Windows AT scheduler, Cron, third party, etc) -

If the Latter try this.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode).
