Erased mail application in error how do i get it back???

how do iget mail application deleted by mistake

OK.
You will need to extract Mail from either your original disk set for Snow Leopard, or from the download update for OS X 10.6.8.
I think a utility named Pacifist can do that, but I've never used it.
Perhaps some one else who has that knowledge will post in with assistance.

Often when people think they've deleted an application, what's really happened is that they deleted its icon from the Dock. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A to open the Applications folder. If the application is in that folder, drag it to the Dock (not to the Desktop or anywhere else.) The other Dock icons will move out of the way to make a place for it.

I no longer have access to an in application purchase. How do I get it back? I have not backed up my system since I originally bought the application. Is there anyway of getting it back?

Very unlikely. Try checking with the developer?
May want to check with iTS just in case....

How is this possible? How can the iTunes eat what I bought and what for? To buy the applications again?! Geez!
Tell me the solution. It must exist one!

You can redownload you previously purchased apps for free as long as they are still available in the app store.  Be sure you are logged into the Apple ID in iTunes used to purchase them, then follow this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.

Simmply either search applications in spotlight (magnification glass in right top hand corner, and click and drag the folder onto your dock, or open up finder and the folder should be on the directory on the left and you click and drag the folder onto your dock.

You don't.  Apple no longer ships Front Row... it's part of the OS... so it goes away when you upgraded.

If you had a back-up created you can simply restore from your back-up.
    This article may help, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you don't have a back-up you will unfortunately need to input all of your settings again.

The mailbox list is divided into categories with headings in caps, such as ON MY MAC. When you hover the cursor over one of those headings (except for MAILBOXES), you should see the word Show or Hide on the right. Click Show. The  MAILBOXES category can't be hidden.
In each category, the mailboxes are arranged in groups, such as Inbox. To the left of each group is a small disclosure triangle. If the triangle points to the right, click it so that it points down.

  • I deleted my mail to the trash - how do I get it back?

I had 2 mail icons on my desk and I moved one to the trash. No both are gone and I can't get my mail. How can I get this back - thank you.

If you are referring to the Mail icon in the dock at the bottom of the desktop screen, then you should still have the actual application in your Applications Folder - check there and if Mail is there, you can simply drag its' icon back onto the dock (that icon is just an alias for quick access).

  • I set up an iCloud account, and it erased ALL of my contacts, how do I get them back?

I just now set up an iCloud account, and when I went to my messages, I saw that there were no contacts, just all numners. So I went to my contacts, and it turns out that there are none. How do I get them back? I'm freaking out!

So when setting up the iCloud account and it asked if you wanted to import the contacts on the device, what did you tell it to do?

  • Mail preferences has disappeared how do I get it back

A couple of days ago my mail went crazy and most things suddenly dumped themselves in Junk.  I spent some time sorting it out and adding a lot of rules.  Yesterday I found I had missed a couple and wanted to add a rule or edit an existing one.  Click on Mail Preferences and nothing happens.  Was busy, went away, forgot about it.  Tried gain today.  Nothing.  Checked other Preferences eg Safari, Excel.  They're there.  What do I do now?

    Hey MingtheSiarmese,
Thanks for the question. Let’s try quitting the Mail application and restarting your computer. If you have trouble quitting the application, see this article for information on how to Force Quit:

  • Most of my old mail just disappeared.  How do I get it back?

Mail from before January 28 has just disappeared from my mailbox.  Other mailboxes were not affected.   How do I get the mail back?

These instructions apply only if you've been backing up with Time Machine.
Bring the Mail browser window forward, then enter Time Machine. You'll see a series of Mail windows cascading back in time, each representing a snapshot of the Mail database.
Scroll back to the most recent snapshot containing the messages you want to restore. Select the messages, then click Restore. The messages will be restored to a new mailbox named "com.apple.Mail.backup" in the On My Mac group. From there you can move them wherever you like.
Depending on how many mailboxes you have, you may have to scroll the mailbox list up or down to see the new entry. According to some reports, you might have to relaunch Mail, or perhaps wait a while for the database to be reindexed, before it shows up. I can't confirm those reports.

  • I have deleted "mail" from my computer, how do I get it back?

    Hi
I deleted Mail from my computer, won't even come up on search facility. This was done about a yr ago, but I love Mail, others drive me mad. Can I get it back? My computer is about 6 yrs old and it won't update past 10.6.8. I have recently purchased a time capsule but of course it won't work on anything less than 10.8. Can I fix both of these problems please.
    thanks Helen

    1. Use Pacifist to extract Mail from your Mac OS X 10.6 DVD and then run the Mac OS X 10.6.8 combo updater.
    2. The Time Capsule needs to be set up from a computer running a newer Mac OS X version, or a compatible iOS device. Once done, it can be connected to from a Snow Leopard system.
