Eraser brush for radial  or graduated filter like in PSCC Camera Raw?

Does anyone know if we are going to get an eraser brush for radial  or graduated filter like in PSCC Camera Raw or why not? I thought the camera raw engines were supposed to be the same with the same tools.

Lightroom will likely, eventually, get the new Radial/Graduated filter brushes but very likely not before LR 6.0.  The developing engine under the hood are the same and Lightroom is capable of reading and rendering any of the ACR 8.6 filter brushes. The interfaces and tool sets have always had small discrepancies.
Example: Anyone using ACR can tell you about the Color Sampler tool that has been in Camera Raw for sometime but never been in Lightroom.

  • Radial Filter non existing in Camera Raw 8.7 on Photoshop CS6

I've upgraded to Camera Raw 8.7 on my Photoshop CS6 for Mac.
I do not have the Radial Filter button in the Camera Raw plugin and I can't access to Camera Raw from the Photoshop's Filter menu.
While searching on google for screen shots, I see that I'm not the only one.
    Anybody else got this problem?
Is there something else to install?
    Thanks

    Hi
I encountered the same problem. No Radial Filter button after installing Raw 8.7 on CS6. Any idea how to solve this problem?

  • I have a CS4 and would like to install Camera Raw 8.6. How do i do it?

I have a CS4 and would like to install Camera Raw 8.6. How do i do it? The reason being in LR5 when I want to edit the images in Photoshop Layers, the message comes that I need to install Camera Raw 8.6 for compatibility.  Even
After installing Camera Raw 8.6 I am unable to install the plugin in CS4. Please advice.

Camera Raw 8.6 is only compatible with Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC. There is no way for you to install it in Photoshop CS4.  The message you are receiving means that you need Camera Raw 8.6 to have full compatibility with Lightroom 5. But in that message you are given the option to edit a copy that includes the Lightroom adjustments. That is the option that you should use. Lightroom will create a copy (PSD or TIF, depending on your choice in Lightroom preferences) and will send that copy to Photoshop CS4. Then you can use Photoshop and all of its features to continue editing your image. When you close and save the image in Photoshop, it will appear in your Lightroom folder along with the original raw file.
Another option you could use would be to use the free Adobe DNG converter to create DNG (digital negative) copies of your raw files. Those DNG files would be compatible with the Photoshop that you have now. Your other option would be to upgrade your Photoshop.

  • Diference between filter Lens correction and Camera Raw Lens Correction

Whats is the main diference between tools: filter lens corection and Camera Raw Lens Correction.
I am using PhotoShop cs6, OS Windows 7
I already asked support team in Poland, but they send my back message: "we dont support any longer PhotoShop sc6"

Swila, were your "other images" previously edited in Camera Raw? I.e., do they already have saved image settings? The defaults that you save via the flyout menu will only apply to new images, or if you reset an existing image to the defaults. (e.g., choose "Camera Raw Defaults" from the flyout menu).

  • Where's the missing graduated filter brush

ACR has the ability to use a brush to finesse a graduated filter. LR doesn't.
Why? According to the team: "As a matter of policy, we cannot add features to Lightroom dot releases."
But part of Creative Cloud membership is "ongoing updates and upgrades when they become available". This is the pitch of CC. CC was to overcome the "no new features in dot releases" BS. All of the other apps do it, and we're to believe only the LR team can't? Nonsense. I'm a subscriber for the reason that we are promised that we don't have to wait for full version number releases. Listen to Adobe's evangelists...it's what they're promising.
    What's the real story?

    LuminousWorks wrote:
"many LR users don't want CC."
Many users of all any of the apps don't want CC, but Adobe is not offering a choice to them. One wonders if it's a particularly vocal and prolific LR user that doesn't want CC...
Yes, but LR was never part of the original Creative Suite packages that Adobe used to offer prior to CC, unlike all of the other applications they now make available through CC. Same with PS Elements. It's always traditionally been a standalone product. Adobe added it to CC because lots of subscribers complained it wasn't available to them. Different market, different approach.
As I said earlier, it would be nice if it was fully CC compliant from my point of view (and obviously from yours) but it's not and so we'll just have to wait for the next big release. Nothing we can do about it.
I think that the replies you've had do answer your original question.

  • Are there any apple sanctioned stylus or brushes for ipad2?

I am looking for a stylus or brush for my ipad2 and would like one that is apple sanctioned. I don't want a wacom tablet, but are there any brushes or styluses that are backed by Apple?

As an illustrator and designer, I would be using the ipad2 more as a digital sketchpad or digital canvas for my work. Since so many artists and designers use apple products, I am just wondering why apple doesn't have styluses or brushes that they sanction. I would much rather pay more for something that apple makes than for a third party item. Ideally, I am looking for a stylus that draws and a brush that paints with the same speed and ease of the real thing. Is there anything out there that can draw/paint directly onto the Ipad2?

  • Missing Camera Raw Dialog Box in Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows.

    Hello,
I have Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows. This runs on a 32-bit Windows Vista VirtualBox virtual machine.
It has been running fine, but suddenly opening raw Nikon images no longer opens the Camera Raw Dialog box, but takes me straight into editing on Photoshop Elements.
I really like having the Camera Raw Dialog box open as I do most of my image processing using this before opening the resulting file in Elements.
Does anyone know how to get this box back, or to open it from within Elements?
I have tried opening the images from within Photoshop Elements using the "Open As..." mnu item from the File menu, and the selecting "Camera Raw" as the image type, but it still opens without the Camera Raw Dialog box.
    Thanks very much.

Check your screen resolution settings for vista.
I believe the screen resolution needs to be at least 1024 x 768 for the camera raw dialog to show in pse 8.
For example, if instead of running VirtualBox full screen, your running it in windowed or seamless mode and made the window smaller by dragging on the corner, that would automatically lessen the screen resolution in vista.

  • Which version Of Camera Raw for PSE 6

Can anybody enlighten me as to which version of Camera RAW I need to download for use with PSE6 in order to handle .ARW files from My Sony Alpha 350?

Looks like you need Camera Raw 4.6:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4036
Look in the Camera Raw 4.6 ReadMe to see that the Sony A350 is supported.
The above link is the update for PC.   You didn't say whether you have a Mac or PC.
The following would be the equivalent Mac update:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4035

  • Seems that we are unable to Choose for "open as"  a default of Camera Raw" ?

    Greetings
I have no problem with this in that if I, for instance, want to open a JPEG in Camera Raw, then I choose that from the drop-down box.  I have learned this by
initially forgetting many times, then completing the action successfully.  Then the drop-down box comes up with that option for the rest of the session.  Next time I
open Elements however the default is not Raw but, instead Photoshop PSD.
However, we do teach other people at our sessions how to use Elements and this makes it more difficult to do.  Although there are many possible permutations, the
most obvious is to open as Adobe Camera Raw.  If we want to open as Photoshop PSD then a simple "Open" on a Photoshop PSD file will do the trick.
Is there something I am missing ??

PS - I did not answer your question re are we teaching the use of "ACR as default for jpegs".  I would not go so far as to say, default.  Nevertheless we try to encourage the use of RAW and also very definitely for the images that we really like and/or are unique shots, the extra value of processing these jpegs in ACR.
Yes I agree with the purpose.
I think it's not only a quality advice, it's also a matter of efficiency in your workflow. When you compare the workflow in Lightroom to a traditional workflow in the combo editor - organizer - ACR, you can see how the 'parametric' editing of Lightroom is valuable. You can edit batches of files with raws and jpegs, you don't bother about creating output versions at editing time, you can appy the same edits to a selection of files. In a way, you can do the same if you are only working with raws in Elements. What breaks the combo is when you are working with jpeg. You can't open jpegs in ACR from the Organizer... unless they have already been opened from the editor!
My last experiment in the Christmas event was dealing with a collection of 300 pictures taken at max ISO by three different P&S cameras, a few with flash, most without. The lighting was indoors, several kinds of fluorescent lights, halogen, tungsten and mixed daylight. Any combination of those lights, different abilities from the 3 cameras re ISO, noise, saturation... but they were taken by short sequences of 4 to 15 in the same lighting conditions.
So, you are right only ACR can provide a good start to deal with the atrocious white balance problem as well as the noise (In some cases, there was no other solution than a black and white conversion). But I was able to process quickly each sequence in a similar lighting by using common settings. I did only open a few in the editor, I simply clicked 'Done' after the tonal, noise and cropping adjustments. After the first batch of edits, I was able to use only the Organizer for my final edits as I could open 'converted' jpegs as well as raw in the editor.
So, the workaround for the organizer inability to open jpegs in ACR would be to 'Open in ACR' in the editor batches of jpegs, doing nothing in the ACR dialog except selecting the whole batch and clicking 'Done'. After that, you can open in ACR from the Organizer! Note that doing nothing in the ACR dialog means that the 'default ACR conversion settings' will be applied (non destructively). Believe me, that was already a big improvement in white balance and tonal rendition!

  • Camera raw for Canon SX50HS

I am currently using Photoshop CS6 and can't seem to find any info for my new camera for processing images in photo raw. I checked out Adobe Labs and they don't list the camera, does this mean that it is just to new and that I have to wait for the update?
I also ran the latest updates for Photoshop with no success.
Any info about this issue would be helpful.
As a side note, I can edit the images using the Canon provided software, however I am taking a course in Photoshop and would like to use that software for the edits.
    Thanks

There is a dedicated Camera Raw Forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/cameraraw
But your camera does not seem to be supported yet.

I hope you are aware that your camera manufacturer could just adopt DNG and thus not force Adobe to reverse engineer RAW format after RAW format.

  • Camera Raw for Elements 7 enabling use of Nikon D7000

I use Elements 7 with Camera Raw 4.5 I now wish to edit RAW
images from a Nikon D7000. How do I go about obtaining the r
elevant Camera Raw download for use with Elements 7 which will enable me to view and process
    Nikon D7000 RAW images?

The last version of Adobe Camera RAW that PSE7 will work with is ACR 5.6, and that does not support the newer D7000.
Either buy PSE9, or download the latest DNG Converter 6.3 and convert your NEFs to DNGs and open those with the older ACR.
You can get the downloads for both ACR 5.6 and the DNG Convert 6.3 by going to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ and using the dropdown at the top to find Camera RAW for your computer type.  If you update Camera RAW then be sure to use the PSE-specific instructions on the page or in the readme.  The DNG Converter is a standalone program that operates on an entire folder of RAWs at a time.
