I need your help! I am looking for an iPod expert and I see that you're one of the most frequent and popular forum users around so I'm going to take my chance. I need help with my iPod problem. So far, I've got no useful answers. Here's what's happening.
Recently, all my podcasts were added to my song playlist in the iPod. They are also found in their rightful place - the podcast playlist. Which means, these podcasts appeared in two places - song playlist AND podcast playlist. Why is this happening? I just want to see songs in my song playlist, not podcasts or anything else. Can you help??

I saved a corrected, most up to date version of my master Address Book Contacts as a back-up on my Mac Book Pro.
then in an effort to "simplify my life" i attempted to sync my I phone contacts - ( pre clean-up version) with my clean list on Mac Book Pro, New I pad and newly available icloud. DUH!! Using iTunes to do the sync caused the clean MacBOOK Pro list to be commingled with the dirty iphone contacts. amd now the whole mess is in the cloud.
I need to clear out the contaminated lists from all iplaces, and startover with Back-up on my macbook pro. BUT HOW???

I had exported an address book backup: abbu
so since i wrote, i have found my way into the cloud: selected all entries - deleted them all from the cloud.
This wiped out contacts on my iphone and i pad, and MBP, as well as on the cloud. I then imported the abbu back into my now empty address book.
To repopulate the crowd, i selected all in my address book and created a single card vCard for export to my desktop. I then dragged that vcard into my empty cloud. Now my cloud has the same clean contacts as my MBP addressbook. The cloud then pushed the clean contacts into my empty ipad and iphone contacts.
I had to go back to Address Book>preferences>Accounts and Add an I cloud account - but if you accidentally create a second i cloud account - all of a sudden your address book will duplicate itself. I quickly reversed it by deleting one of the icloud accounts in my Address Book>preferences>Accounts.
I created a new entry on my MBP and it is now on all devices and in cloud
I also created a new entry on my iPhone and it is now in the address book on my MBP.
I feel empowered!!
Have i missed anything??

Is there a way to make sure firefox does not erase the address bar list

First of all I have no idea where I am supposed to ask this so forgive me if I am in the wrong place. I have noticed when firefox erases it's history all of the web addresses are erased from the location bar. This is a huge inconvenience. Is there a way to 1: customize the bar quickly with all my favorite websites and 2: prevent firefox from erasing the address list in the location bar?

How do I rename an email address contact list and delete an old one?

I want the names of my Contact Lists to reveal which one it is instead of the generic Personal or Contact List. I want to combine two of them into one but can't figure out how to delete the old one. It's probably really simple but evidently the solor flare-ups have rendered me incapable of figuring out things like this! Thanks!

Random contact numbers have been deleted/erased from my contacts list.

As the title says, after having a number ring me the other day ( my father), which I recognised, I checked my contacts list and discovered that numerous random contacts now have no number listed with them.
What could have caused this and is there any way that I can recover them?
I have not synced the phone for a while now and Im pretty sure that my father had rung me since the last time the phone was synced and his number was still logged at that time.

You need to have a valid billing details even if you are downlaoding free app. go to sttings/itunes & app store , tap on the ID htere and lig in and check your account billing details. The message you go twas to contact Apple. APple is not here only users in this user forum.

TA25594 How can I print an address/contact list, without printing them individually?

I don't want to print each individual card. All I want is to print the view that I have on my screen which is a list of my contacts with their respective categories.
When I send to print it begins to try to print them as v-cards. I only want what I can see on the screen.... Print screen will not work as it will cut off...

It may be you should print the way I have discovered. Open contacts. Click 1st name. Cmd -a will highlight all names. Click File. Export as PDF. Save (suggest) on desktop. Go to desktop. Open Print. Beware that my screen indicated information on the print screen that was unwanted but that the print came out just fine.

I recently upgraded my I phone 3gs to a 4s and gave the old phone to my father but forgot to turn off i cloud and now all my contacts have been deleted and replaced with his contacts is there a way to restore my contacts

login to icloud online and see if you can see previoud backups. if nothing is there. no dice.

Does the iPhone contact list update your online contacts when syncing?

I know that you can update your iPhone contacts thru your Yahoo contact list, but does this occur vice-versa when new contacts have been added to your iPhone and you sync with Yahoo?

In an indirect way, yes.
It syncs with Address Book and updates the contacts
there.
Your computer will then sync with .Mac and update
contacts online.
Hopefully Apple will implement direct .Mac sync'ing
in future versions, but who knows if they will.
obviously syncing your iPhone to your mac, will update address book, which in turn will update your online contact list on .mac
this was not the question, the question was, will changing the contacts from a yahoo contact list update your online contact list through yahoo when sync'd.
best way to find out, try it, see if it does.

Mail Bug - Reply To addresses list everyone in your address book

I use reply-to addresses a lot to ensure I get replies to the right address.
In 10.4 I'm sure if I started typing my address in this field, it would give me a choice of similar reply to addresses I'd used before, or perhaps based on my accounts.
In 10.5, it is now listing everyone in my address book and has potential for serious consequences.
For instance, if my reply-to is ian @ mac.com then when I used to start typing ia.. it would give me a list of my various reply-to addresses. Now, it is giving me the default of another ian in my address book. It is easy to dismiss the default and inadvertently ensure a reply is sent to another person completely! The list should really only include email accounts you have or some other limited list.
Anyone else notice this change/bug?

OK, JUST TO CLARIFY: I OPEN MY MAIL PROGRAM. I then start a new letter. I then click on the little person icon button which opens up the address/contacts list. This action does not open up the address book as such.
I simply want to select various contacts from the list. But now I can no longer simply go down the list to double click on those contacts that I want to automatically drop into the TO field of my new message. It does not work any longer in Mavericks??
Now I have to click on each contact, and then go up, and click again on the TO button ....
Can Apple please stop making tasks more difficult?? The previous version worked great, and now it has been upgraded so that it doesn't work as simply as it did??

Unfortunately your other contacts may be lost. Contacts are not saved in iTunes; they are only synced with iTunes to a supported program such as Outlook or mac Address Book. If you don't have these, there are other options for backing up your contacts such as syncing them with iCloud or another service such as Google. Syncing only partially saves contacts in the backup in order to preserve your favorites and recent call lists; it can't be relied on for backing up your entire contact list.

Please kindly clarify what this request was?
Did this have to do with adding a contact list to your Skype contacts list, and sending those who were not currently Skype accountholders a contact invitation?
If you wish to not view contact pictures on your Contact list, in the Win7 PC version of Skype, click on Tools -> Options -> General -> un-check Show Profile Pictures on Contact List -> Save.

Sync Outlook Contact List and AOL Contact List

I have several Outlook Accounts and an AOL Account. I would like to combine my calendar and contact lists into a single one. When I sync my phone, will the sync process allow mw to do that? If so, how?

The iPhone supports syncing contact info and calendar events direct via the iTunes sync process with Outlook 2003 or 2007. It doesn't matter how many email accounts you are accessing with Outlook.
The iPhone's mail client supports accessing POP or IMAP accounts, and can access an Exchange account via ActiveSync, which Apple licensed from Microsoft for the iPhone's mail client.
You can access an AOL account as an IMAP account with the iPhone's mail client, which includes an AOL account preset that creates the account as an IMAP account.
If your AOL contact list is not available in your Outlook contact list, you needs to do so since the iPhone does not support syncing contact info with the AOL program's address book.
