I completed my project and want to make a DVD. I next completed the "Publish" step. I understand iMovie '09 now has a simple way to make the finished DVD. What do I do after the Publish step is completed???

I don't think I worded the question properly. This is what I've done:
1. Completed the project
2. Clicked on "SHARE"
3. Clicked on "iDVD"
4. Screen says, "Preparing Project"
5. This "preparation" takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

6. Next I'm ready to make the DVD. I understand with iMovie '09 it is very easy
to create the DVD.....but I'm not sure what to do now.

ME05 How to schedule source list job with steps?

Can someone please give me instructions on how to create source list ME05 in background using "Steps"? I know how to create a background job in ME05 but need to have several jobs run back to back in the middle of the night. I am reluctant to shedule them at different times and would prefer to use the "Steps" function. Thanks for your input!

Steps:
First create variant for the report in normal execution mode (to provide input selection parameters in backgrpund)
1. Transaion code SM36
Give Job name you want created (Give some meaningful name) and Press enter
2. Give the ABAP program name
3. Select variant and save the selections
4. Come back to initial screen , select the Start condition button and provide the interval as per requirement to schedule the job and save.
5. Save the job.
Check the Job in SM37 and relase the Job.

Passing parameter value from one script to another in job chain steps

Hi all,
We have a scenario where in we have a job chain with two steps
1-Step 1 contains a script which fetches value from database to the script parameter(in/out) - PAR_DB_VALUE
2-Step 2 contains another script which uses the value of the parameter PAR_DB_VALUE and has to assign to another parameter in the script 2 called PAR_FETCHED_VALUE(in)
How to pass the value of PAR_DB_VALUE to PAR_FETCHED_VALUE which are parameters in two different steps

Hi,
You can achieve this as follows (CPS version 6 & 7):
- Edit the chain
- Go to the second step, to the parameters of the script call in that step
- Go to the parameter (PAR_FETCHED_VALUE) that you want to be filled by the parameter of the first step
- choose "Chain value" in the detail screen for the parameter, and select the desired out parameter from the drop down
Note that both parameters need to be of the same type for this to work.

Query to see the Status of all jobs including steps

I have 5 jobs in my sql server and each job has 5 steps.
I need a query which returns the job status, along with steps status in a single query.
i want the result of last execution only

Can Not Publish "Step By Step" To Word

Hello All-
I am trying to publish a "step by step" to a word document, but when I do I get an error message (Print Screen attached).
I use OpenOffice rather then word, is this what is causing the problem? Also the "error log" that captivate is trying to create is non existent because the directory it is trying to save it to does not exist....
Any help would be appreciated.

Now it is working fine (so far), I've only had it installed for a few days, and at this point I still lean pretty heavily on Flash to create content (read, its new and I dont know how to work it).
The install was not Captivates fault actually it was because I downloaded the beta of flash player 10.1, and I could NOT uninstall it, captivate couldn't find it (it was in programs (x86) and captivate was looking in programs). Finally out of frustration I just did a clean install of Windows. I have plenty of back up drives so I just saved everything I needed and started fresh, and from there I have had no problems.
In general Windows 7 is great OS, I've been using the beta for over 6 months now and haven't had a single problem, aside from the occasional driver issue (which I haven't had since it went into production which is encouraging, one of the biggest problems I had with Vista was sound card/driver issues that NEVER were fully resolved)
The only other "Adobe/Windows7" issues I've had (that were not related to the Flash player) was some weird problem where Fireworks needed to modify my registry everytime I ran it, but that too has been resolved by reinstalling Windows.
I did follow your recommendation and send an email to the "feature request"

I was trying to publish module to "step by step" text document. I use OpenOffice and don't have Word on my computer. I found out that I could not use this feature with out word. I don't know anything about Software development, but my assumption is that Captivate can not just create a .doc file with out access to some portion of the native word program?
It would be great to be able to use other word processing programs, such as OpenOffice or iWork (for those Apple people out there) I got the impression through your forums that Captivate ONLY publishes to MS Word.

Multistep background job, one step fails

If I schedule and run a multistep job. That is each step runs an ABAP program, and the first step fails, do the succeeding steps run or are they not run.

If one step fail the job will stop, the rests of the steps will not be executed. simply because is a chain of events, once the chain is broken the process stop.

Hello Samir,
Job search is a relatively broad area where it's nearly impossible to give you a quick overview. That's the reason I mentioned the wiki pages as there you have potential errors/check reports mentioned you can use to investigate why the job search isn't working for you.
There can be several issues on that: not indexed on TREX, fulltextsearch not working but attribute on does, wrong search application customizing, wrong SICF service customizing and so on.
If you have done changes on the search customizing it is usally the best to start the check report I mentioned as there you see what search settings might be missing or are wrong. If all steps are shown with green lights then you can take the next steps.

EREC : Job search for external agencies still displays expired job posting

For external job agencies when they go to view publications. It still displays the job postings which have expired.
For example it displays job postings whose end date is 15.06.2011, no extension has been done for this postings.
It allows applications be created for these postings as well. Any idea on how this can be prevented.

You mean by the reference code search? Yes, there you see by default all codes.
If you want to see only valid ones you have to activate the checkbox 'published'.

Pass value from SQL agent job step

I have created one SSIS package and I am scheduling the same using SQL Agent job. Now I want to pass one value from SQL job agent and want to use that value in SSIS package and then run that package. Can someone point to the solution.

I have created one parameter on SSIS package named strValue and assigned a empty value "". After that I have created one SQL job and step wherein I have set the value to "Nike" for parameter under Parameters tab.
Now I am expecting Nike value which I have set on SQL job step should get reflected on SSIS package when I am running my job. Am I doing anything wrong ?

Monitor the step in the job

Dear all,
I want know the function that can monitor the step in a job. I have a program that generates a job within steps. I want to abort the job if a step is cancelled. Can you share the ideas with me? Thank you!

if you are in the loop and and executing the job within the loop... then in that case you can use the following logic...
loop at......
...............        processing steps....
call function bp_jobvariant_schedule....      " to schedule the job....
if sy-subrc <> 0.    " if there was any error then it will exit from the loop which means no other jobs can *be executed
exit.
endif.
endloop.

Missing steps in Job History

Hi,
I am having this strange issue where in the job some steps are missing. There are 20 steps out of which in the job history the first 4 steps are not showing up. The packages being called in these 4 steps are running successfully.
Also, in job history, I can see only the history for current run. All the previous entries are missing.
Any information would be very helpful.

By default is set to 100, you change it by going to
Object Explorer -> SQL Server Agent –> Right click -> Properties -> History - > check Maximum

Background job terminated in LSMW last step

Experts:
When I run the last step in LSMW: 13 Start Direct Input Program,
I set a background job for Trans:BMV0,
But it goes an error:
"Job started
Step 001 started (program RMDATIND, variant....)
Could not open file xxxx.lsmw.conv
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE"
could you tell me possible reasons for this error?thank you!

Ichecked the file assignment in step seven.
what file path and name did you define for the converted file? is this located on your PC or on the application server?
did you execute step 11?
did step 11 tell you that SAP had written xxx records to the conv-file?
The file path is on the application server

Regarding your description,though not aware of what is the purposed to call only one step of that job, the below sample can somewhat help to achieve your requirement.
--find the job steps
SELECT
steps.step_id,steps.step_name,steps.subsystem,steps.command
FROM msdb.dbo.sysjobsteps steps
JOIN msdb.dbo.sysjobs jobs
ON steps.job_id = jobs.job_id
WHERE jobs.name = 'youJobName'
--find the command runs in that step, usually that is some command exec stored procedure

Error in step Activate BW content for RCA

Hi Experts,
We have upgraded solution manager 7.1 system from SP06 to SP11.
Facing issue in
Solman_Setup -> Basic Configuration -> Configure Automatically -> Activate BW content for RCA.
This step is going to error and not showing any log details in screen.
also ccms_bi_setup job not getting scheduled in the system.
We have performed below steps already:
all previous steps completed sucesfully.
T-code: RSTCO_ADMIN: showing activation sucessful.
Also downloaded latest version for sap roles SAP_BI_E2E and SAP_SM_BI_PROCESS and assigned to user "solman_admin",which is used for performing solman_setup.
Please provide your inputs to resolve this issue.

We have generated the profile and did user comparision as well and status is green.
Also logical system and RFC NONE exist and works fine.
I have already done activation along with replicate in RSA1, but issue remains same.
we are not getting any error details ....so there is no clue what is happening.
When execute this step . one background job starts "SMSETUP: DIAG_SM_BI_SETUP" and getting finished.
below is job log for this.

Step 001 started (program RAGS_SISE_ACTIVITY_JOB, variant &0000000000542, user ID SOLMAN_ADMIN)
Imported p_act_id:DIAG_SM_BI_SETUP

DIAG_SM_BI_SETUP for system SMP~ABAP~100 ended
Job finished
But ccms_bi_setup not getting scheduled after this, step goes to error state.
