Eris Gmail attachments

Hello all, can anyone tell me how to save Gmail attachments to my SD card?  No problem saving from MMS messages, but can't figure out how to do it with Gmail.  Other linked email account (hotmail) no problem either, just Gmail.
Thank you.

In gmail some attachments like JPEG files will give you the option to download to SD when you open the email. Other files like PDF will not. You may have to download an alternative email application or an application that will allow you view file types not support by Android OS.

    Hi there,
Sorry about your issues with gmail attachments. Is this a recent problem in Firefox for you? I'm guessing you're a long-time Firefox user and that this is a fairly recent problem for you. If so, this could be due to problems with your local cache for gmail.com. What you could try is to clear the cache to see if that takes care of the problem: [[How to clear the Firefox cache]]
Please let me know if this solves the problem so I can tick this off of my todo list - or please let me know if you need more help and I'll get on this again to sort it out for you!
    Thanks,
    David

  • Why can't we simply have an option to enable/disable Javascript on sites again in the settings for Firefox 27? Suddenly my Gmail attachments won't open. Gmail.

Suddenly my Gmail attachments have stopped opening, and I receive the message: JavaScript must be enabled in order for you to use Gmail in standard view. However, it seems JavaScript is either disabled or not supported by your browser. To use standard view, enable JavaScript by changing your browser options, then try again.
I found a Mozilla support thread where it was explained that Javascript has been turned off for a while in FF. OK. Then there was a complicated answer about how you could still turn it back on by typing in a config code into the address bar. What? Or, you could download an extension to do that for you. Why?
Please-- if you really feel like users can't be trusted, and Javascript must be turned off, at least bring back the ability to enable/disable Javascript on a per site basis in options, without having to know code. It's Gmail.
    Thank you.

There is nothing on that thread that says Javascript is turned off by default. to quote:
"In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and protect users from unintentially damaging their Firefox, the option to disable JavaScript was removed from the Firefox Options window.
However, the option to disable JavaScript was not removed from Firefox entirely. You can still access it from about:config or by installing an add-on. "
The UI checkbox to disable Javascript was removed, but the option still exists in about:config (which isn't code btw, it's just preferences), nor was Javascript turned off by default, in fact the opposite is true, it is enabled by default with the option to disable it made a little more difficult to find, as only advanced users need to disable Javascript.
Please try to clear the cache and cookies for gmail, let's see if those are causing problems. [[Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored on your computer]], [[How to clear the Firefox cache]]

  • TS3276 I can not open gmail attachments  on my iPad, the icon for the file is a down arrow

I can not open gmail attachments  on my iPad, the icon for the file is a down arrow....  that only happend on Gmail account

It could be just an issue with the gmail server. I don't know what settings can be made for attatchments there. I generally leave those messages with large attatchments alone and view them on the computer. I was finding that certain large files like .wmv would sometimes take 5 to 10 minutes to open on the iPad.
Yes it's aggrivating, but I don't have that answer either.

  • Gmail attachments

Anyone have trouble sending Pages documents as attachments in Gmail? It seems to not want to send these. It just waits and waits.

    Welcome to the Forum Ephraimg.
how do I zip a file?
Locate the document in the Finder, Ctrl+click the document, from the menu that appears choose the "Create archive of..." item.
The Finder will then compress the file in the same folder as the original. It'll have a .zip file extension, and a plain icon with a zipper down the middle.
One other question if you don't mind. To what extent
is iwork compatable with microsoft office?
iWork includes Pages (word processor) and Keynote (presentation). So iWork is only compatible with MS Word and PowerPoint. Note also that iWork is not 100% compatible with either program, but then no program is.
If you want total compatibility with MS Office then you will need to use either Office for Mac or Office 2007 for PCs. (You can use Office 2007 on an Intel based Mac by installing Windows and Office in a separate partition. Look into Apple's new product called Boot Camp if this interests you.)
NeoOffice is a free clone of MS Office and provides the best third-party compatibility with MS Office. That is, it's more compatible with MS Office than iWork.
Can I open my Pages documents in Word, for example? If so, how?
No you can't open Pages documents in Word. Your only choice is to export your Pages document into a Word format, and to open this Word document in Word.
Note also that Pages does not let you directly edit Word documents. When you open the Word document in Pages it creates an unsaved copy of the document, leaving the original Word document intact. The same happens in reverse when you save/export a Pages document into a Word format - a new Word document is created based on the original.
When I tried to open a document I sent to
    myself, it came up dingbats.
Try compressing the document first before sending, and decompressing it when received, to preserve the document.

  • Safari: gmail attachments

I notice that the new Safari has started not processing attachments to gmail email as well as it used to. I can attach one picture/file but not more than one and it then just continues with a message saying 'working' whilst it prepares to send the file, sending happens quickly, but it does something to the pic before it is ready normally. Anyway because of this I have to now open Firefox if I want to send attachments on my gmail. Is this a glitch on this version?

your prompt on mail urged me to have another go and setting Mail up, as I didn't know how to configure it, eventually I found the settings for gmail and it's now works well. But still Safari is not working as well as it should. On gmail docs it says that my word doc cannot be saved and is full, but on firefox this isn't the case and it continues to display the updates. So something is a bit odd about Safari currently. Has anyone else found this?

  • How do I downlaod Gmail attachments with FDM?

    1. FDM downloads even if plug-in is disabled. I do not see a way to use the browser's downloader rather than FDM.
    2. When downloading a Gmail attachment a "service login" is downloaded and not the doc.
I am not sure why this is happening - at some point it was not and then it was again and then it wasn't - now it is again happening.
I am using the latest update.

    Hi guigs2,
The link you provided is for attaching files to gmail.
    1. I do not have pop-up blocker activated, so I cannot add gmail as an a exception.
    2. My problem is not about adding attachments, but about downloading them.

  • I cannot gmail attachments from my ipad

I cannot e-mail stuff from my ipad as attachments using gmail. Normal messages are ok, those with jpeg photo files or pdf files from certain apps. Stay in the outbox of my gmail app.

Seeing exactly same problem on IOS 5.1.1 ipad 2.   This ipad belongs to my parents. I upgraded it for them and now they are pretty disappointed because of this problem.
The email account has many pictures and videos as attachment. None of them are displayed in ipad 2.
I configured the same account on iphone 4S running 5.1.1 and Original ipad running 5.1.1, saw the problem there too.
The only thing unique about this gmail account is - it's got too many emails with videos and pictures attached.  None of them are displayed. They download onto ipad, but don't get displayed.

  • Gmail attachments on pb

    hiball,
if i am not somehow missing something, there is no way to attach something on an email of a gmail account when using the shortcut for the mobile site that comes with the playbook and if you use your browser and log in gmail with the normal desktop version of the site, then the links on the page do not work. so practically in my understanding there is no way to attach a file on gmail, unless youbhave bridge to a bb phone that has a gmail account set up, then it works.
could some one tell please if they have found a solution to that or if i am missing something here, because i would likento be able to use fluidly gmail on my pb without using the bridge some times.
    thanks a lot
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

there are several interfaces for GMail on a playbook:
the desktop interface. does not work well (can't scrool)
the HTML5 interface. Two panes: messages list on the left, and discussion on the right. Works but lacks features
the basic HTML interface: it is the one you get when you use a phone.
for that last interface, I am sure that adding attachments work. To access that interface, when you are in the HTML5 interface, scroll down the left pane until you see the footer. Click on the "basic html" and you'll get to a website that looks like past century. It is ugly, but works fine.

  • Mail - GMAIL - Attachments Not Showing UP

Suddenly on my iPad, for no apparent reasons, some of emails with attachments are showing up just plain ordinary emails with no attachments. There is no paperclip logo on the e-mail. I logged into the account on Safari browser and it appears those emails have been classified as an inline attachment. Again no paperclip logo on the emails. But, I am not sure that would be the reason behind the sudden disappearance of attachments on iPad because when I initially received those emails I could open/view the attachments on iPad. I did forward the e-mail to quite few people, though.
On my iPhone (3G, iOS 4.2) I don't appear to have the problem.
I have restarted iPad. I have re setup the account, etc. But still nothing.
    What could be the cause?

I have this happen all the time; it seems to be a known bug with Mail, and Apple doesn't seem interested in fixing it. Every week or so Mail will stop showing attachments. If I quit Mail and restart it, then it shows them and everything's fine. It's extremely annoying.

  • Flash Player and Failed Gmail Attachments

I updated Flash player using the .msi file acquired from the “Flash Player Distribution” page pushed out via gpo, to around 150 workstations everything seemed to install correctly.
But now all of our computers that have installed that file can no longer attach files in their gmail or google apps accounts, also there are some other websites that use flash for file upload (Walgreens…) that no longer work either.
Workstations are either Windows xp sp3 ie7 or ie8
I have also tried to manually update Flash player via adobe website, it installs correctly but problem still persists.

opened a case with Adobe, and hopefully for once they will be able to help.

Note : Save the installer on Desktop and once download is finished, you can run the installer

  • I use gmail on my ipad. Why can't I open any attachments? Not word files, not photos, nothing. Thanks

I use g-mail on my ipad. I have no trouble receiving mail, but I cannot open any attachments of any kind. Why?

For Gmail attachments, if they are PDF files (as well as many other formats) when you are viewing them on the iPad in Safari there is an option to "Open in iBooks" just below the tab you have open (at the top of the page).
From iBooks you can print them to a wireless printer easily.
    Hope this helps.
