Erorr Code -3 when installing itunes

I installed itunes fine and it was running fine until i accidentally deleted quicktime. Then it said i needed to reinstall itunes and when i did i get error code -3. Ive tried deleting both quciktime and itunes, restarting, and reinstalling and it won't work. I went to the suppport page and deleted my temp folder, except for one file, and tried reinstalling and that didn't work. When i try to open itunes, it says itunes can't run because some parts are missing, please reinstall itunes, but i can't reinstall itunes because i get error code -3. Im really quite fruistraited right now and would really like some help. Thank you for reading this.

I'm certainly not an expert...I've been messing with my computer all day and finally got it going, but it may help if you download QuickTime as a stand alone. You can do that from here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
That may help get iTunes working. It's at least worth a try. I know how you feel! Hang in there.

  • Error code 2329 when installing itunes

I am getting error code 2329 when installing itunes

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • What is error code 2324 when installing iTunes?

What is error code 2324?  I got this when trying to re-install iTunes.  I was in the middle of the latest iTunes update when I had to cancel it.  Now I can't access my music so I tried to reinstall iTunes but I get this error code.   I also get a error message saying I need Administrator privlages.  Well I am the Admininstrator and logged in as it.  I can't reinstall iTunes and when I go to remove programs I don't see it listed only Apple Application and Apple Updates, along with an Apple Mobile Device Support.
I even 'restored' my system to earlier today before I started downloading the iTunes update to no avail.  Any ideas/suggestions?

Let's try the fixit from the following Microsoft document with that one:

So, drive J: is wrong (I'm installing on D:), and I cannot find any files by that name. Seems the installation scripts are screwed. I will try installing to disk J: and revert back.
    Thanks for your input.

    Mike

    Sean,
Yes, this is a known defect:  CSCue69477 - CTI Route Port Synch Issue with CUCM.  As per the bug:
"This issue will occur if the "SUBSCRIBE Calling Search Space" under Protocol Specific Information in the Template for the CTI Route Ports is configured. To work around this, the "Owner User ID" under Device Information for the Template needs to be configured."

  • TS3212 I get an apple application support error when installing itunes. It says uninstall and re-install.  Does not work.  same message.  What is a solution?

I get an apple application support error when installing itunes. It says uninstall and re-install.  Does not work.  same message.  What is a solution?

Is that an error 2 message?
If so, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

All I want to do is upgrade from 9 to 10 so that I can run my ipad.
When installing iTunes 10 I get an error message "Invalid Drive: F:|". ANy advice?

    Bissley,
I have received this error in the past and it is usually caused by Windows automatically changing your external drive letters when you install. There are two ways around it; first, follow the directions provided by b noir. Second, within iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced
Under the advanced options you'll see a recessed section called "iTunes Media folder location". Although you may have set this in the past it, if Windows changed your drive letters it will no longer be valid. Default is usually "C:\blah\blah\mymusic"
Changing it just a matter of clicking "change" and finding your music folder again or change your drive letter back (if it changed at all).
If Windows is changing your drive letters, it is best to set them yourself so that everytime you plug in the devices they use the letter you assigned. Here is a link for that process:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Change-add-or-remove-a-drive-le tter
    Hope it helps.
