Erp 2004 configuration

Hi,
I installed ECC5.0 in my system and started working in BW with the step - by - step guide book.
In chapter 10 the replication of data etc were described. When i attempted to do it it could not be completed. After this, though I am able to log on to the system with SAPUSER( an user created by me) I am unable to go to administer workbench of BW.
As this erp2004 demo is having a builtin bw add-on, I need to know the congiuration settings one had to do initially on succesful installtion so that the R/3 objects such as 0plant and others are readily available for use and we can create queries and web reporting be done.

I get a message of "Entry in inbound table already exist" and unable to go to the administer workbench of BW.
Need more info to solve the problem.

I have done the following steps:
1)Copied the current scenario customizing from client 000 to the current client using transaction QISR_SM29 (object lists P46C_ISR_SCENARIO and AX8_ISR_SCENARIOX).
2)Indicated the server on which the Web applications (Web Dynpro) are located in the IMG of the mySAP ERP system under Cross-Application Components> Internet/Intranet Services> Internal Service Request> Scenario Definition> Define Scenarios --> Details --> Additional Data for Scenario.
If i preview the forms via transaction SFP, say form ISR_FORM_SPPM
The form is displayed in German.
What all configuration eneds to be done?how to resolve the Error?

MSS mySAP ERP 2004 - PCRs

Hi,
Has anybody used JSP PCRs in MSS version ERP 2004, instead of Adobe forms? We'd like to keep the same webdynpro screens to select forms but after form selection instead of opening adobe forms, it opens JSP forms. I am wondering if this is possible with configuration or we need to do some customization in web dynpro.

while MSS supports different UI technologies, one of the novelties of ERP 2004 is the use of an interactive PDF form as part of the PCR applications. If you wish to use and extend the processes and forms shipped by SAP, you need to install the NetWeaver infrastructure of Interactive Forms, in particular the server component 'Adobe document services'. Check the MSS/PCR installation documentation in Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/mss -> Documentation -> Personnel Change Requests.

Ldap integration on mySAp ERP 2004

Hi,
1°)I'm installed SAP ERP 2004 for use ESS webdynpro.
I'm configure LDAP connection since SAP Portal, and now, all my client ( on LDAP system ) are connected on SAP PORTAL. That's very good.
2°)I'm implemente a "replication "fonction in SAP Portal for automaticly create a same user on ABAP system.
That's good.
Now, if I'm create a new user on portal system, a same user is create on abap system. That's very good...
But if I'm implemente the 2 solutions on my system, LDAP user can connected on SAP Portal ( SAP Portal see it on LDAP system ) but the replication doesn't run because no user is created on SAP Portal.
The LDAP fonctionnalities is very good but I didn't know how apply it on ABAP system???
Which solution should be implemented for that one LDAP user can launch a ESS webdynpro automaticly???

Not clear with your question. But, have you decided on where to keep the user stores ...
1. Corporate users
2. SAP users
The corporate users can be in the LDAP and you can authenticate portal users against the LDAP.
The sap users are defined seperately in the sap user store (the logon ids match the windows logon (ldap)).
The next step is to configure SSO between the J2EE engines of ERP system and Portal (if they are on a different host).
Define the ERP system in the portal, enable SSO and assign the role to the user. You should be able to then access the ESS iViews seamlessly.
The help documentation provides all in detail I mentioned above.

what is the prerequisities for ESS on portal ?
is the java components for ESS are to be deployed on Portal Server?
How can setup the SLD for using WebDynpro Application on Portal?
and provide some guidelines to configuring ESS on the Portal Server

For ESS totally you need to download 3 Files and deploy them thro SDM.

How to install ERp 2004.

Hello all, I want to install ERP (mysap) 2004, I went to downloads area in the sap, after going into the ERP 2004 there are lot of stuff, I am big ambiguous which I have to download and how tostart the process. If any body could assist me I appreciate that.

First thing you need to download, if you are doing ABAP Stack installation:
1. Master CD
2. Kernel CD
3. Export CD
4. Database CD and Client in case of Oracle with patch.

Why does ERP 2004 installation fill up 30G of SQL data?

Step 2 of mySAP ERP 2004 installation is to create "database instance." I just finished doing that (after running it overnight). Now I see that the installation has taken up 30G of SQLServer database space.

C:\SIDData3 - 10G
C:\SIDLog - 2.5G
I am a novice when it comes to SAP installations. This actually is my first successful installation. However, I am just curious on what the heck is being stored in the database that takes up this much space. More importantly, is there anything I can do to reduce the footprint? Are there things I can safely get rid of?

Among the alternatives not mentioned... Using a TiVo DVR, rather than the X1; a Roamio Plus or Pro would solve both the concern over the quality of the DVR, as well as providing the MoCA bridge capability the poster so desperately wanted the X1 DVR to provide. (Although the TiVo's support only MoCA 1.1.) Just get a third-party MoCA adapter for the distant location. Why the hang-up on having a device provided by Comcast? This seems especially ironic given the opinions expressed regarding payments over time to Comcast. If a MoCA 2.0 bridge was the requirement, they don't exist outside providers. So couldn't the poster have simply requested a replacement XB3 from the local office and configured it down to only providing MoCA bridging -- and perhaps as a wireless access point? Comcast would bill him the monthly rate for the extra device, but such is the state of MoCA 2.0. Much of the OP sounds like frustration over devices providing capabilities the poster *thinks* they should have.

Source system icons changes when connecting SAP BW to mySAP ERP 2004

Hi,
Just an Interesting observation in relation to the creation of source systems in SAP BW to SAP Web AS 6.40 based systems (mySAP ERP 2004, mySAP SRM, etc).
I thought it would be interesting to share!
The behavior is logical but can be a surprise for a BW administrator who is not aware of the new internal SAP BW systems within mySAP ERP 2004.
Scenario:
The customer was connecting a stand-alone BW system to two new systems with latest and greatest mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.00) and mySAP SRM.
Observation:
In the past the SAP R/3 source system would be created with a "SAP R/3 icon" indicating a SAP Source system.
As of mySAP ERP 2004, the source systems will be created in the SAP BW standalone system with the "SAP BW System icon".
Note: This is also the same behavior for new releases of mySAP SRM, and other SAP applications that are based on SAP Web AS 6.40 or greater
Why?:
The standalone SAP BW system is connecting to a system that contains an internal SAP BW system. The standalone SAP BW system determines that it is possible to extract both from the internal BW System and from the Plug-in extractors. It simply denotes that this source system is a SAP BW system and uses the BW Source system icon. (Remember SAP BW is client independent*!).
Note: This behavior will still occur even if you do not use the internal SAP BW system within mySAP ERP! It is there whether you use it or not.
Second Note: You can still use the ERP Content extractors from the mySAP ERP Source System as you did in prior releases.
Another related observation:
I would expect that this case will probably be true even if you only use the internal SAP BW.
Scenario: You use the internal SAP BW in another client in the mySAP ERP system than your ERP processing.
Result: The connection between the BW client and the ERP client source system(s) (i.e. client 001 for ERP, client 100 for BW), both the 'myself' and ERP client source systems, will show up as BW source systems!
Source system 001 and source system 100 will be displayed as SAP BW icons because SAP BW is client independent*
user master and authorizations are client dependent

Java programming in mySAP ERP 2004

With mySAP ERP 2004, Can I do java programming instead of abap programming?. My intention is not to depend on ABAP programmers for simple tasks.

No, the core system still runs on ABAP. You cannot use java to develop business logic in R/3. It all runs on ABAP. You can however use java on the frontend and talk to the mySAP ERP 2004 system on the backend via RFC calls.

actually I don't see a difference as "mySAP2004" is not an official name for anything
There is "mySAP ERP 2004" which is the marketing name for a bunch of functionality provided by several different bits of software components.

Hello Kaan,
the SEM 3.5 exam is simply based on an older version. You should take the mySAP ERP 2004 exam (or 2005 once this comes out). The BPS functionality has changed only marginally so it's not really a different, but it's nicer to have a recent certification of course
