ERP 4.7 x 110 and WAS 6.40

We are running SAP 4.7 x 110, I am wondering if WAS 6.40 is supported with this version of SAP. We currently run WAS 6.20 which seems to be supported with SAP 4.7 x 110 can someone please confirm that WAS 6.40 is support with SAP 4.7 x 110.

I'm sorry I am not being clear on my questions. There are some features in JAVA WAS 6.30 which our developers would like to use in a business project. However, our system is currently 4.7 x 110 with ABAP WAS 6.20 and JAVA WAS 6.20 I would like to upgrade to  JAVA WAS 6.30 with the SAP J2EE engine 6.40 so the developers can use these features.
The scenario which best describes what I am trying to achieve is found in this SAP note: 716046
Below is what I found in note 716046 which seems to state what I am trying to achieve is possible:
Example 3
Start: SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x110, SAP Web AS ABAP 620, SAP Web AS Java 620
Requirement: "Upgrade" to SAP Web AS 6.30; no upgrade of SAP R/3 Enterprise
Result: SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x110, SAP Web AS ABAP 620 + Support Packages = SAP Web AS ABAP 630, new installation of SAP Web AS Java 630 with SAP J2EE Engine 6.40, migration of the applications from SAP J2EE Engine 620 to 640
Does this seem correct?

From a technical point of view, SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x200 consists of
following sections, which in turn contain various software components:
o  SAP R/3 Enterprise Extension Set 2.00 consists of the following
           software components EA-HR 200, EA-APPL 200, EA-IPPE 200,

  • Data Transformation Services Execution Utility stopped working and was closed

    Hi,
I had the SSIS packages (ETL job) working fine for a long time and then we moved the server/machine and ETL job keeps failing.
The ETL job run number of packages. The ETL job fails for the first run then I set the retires and it works in 2nd or 3rd try on the ETL job but it fails daily for the first run where DTexec.exe crash (log pasted below)
    Server: Windows 2008 R2
SQL Server:  SQL Server 2008 R2
    RAM 64 GB
    CPU cores 8
we had the similar specs on previous machine and ETL job worked fine. Only difference is we have 2 SQL server instances now on same machine.
I am suspecting it's an issue with ETL packages  but why it was working fine before for a long time and after machine move it keeps failing.
    Any thoughts?

  • Canopus 110 and the dreaded "Cannot connect to device"  msg

I am using Premiere Elements 2.0 with the Canopus 110 to make copies of my HI-8 and Beta tapes, and getting increasingly frustrated with the way PE 2 drops my temporary file and forces me to start the whole copy over again from the beginning every time I get the "Cannot connect to device" error. It occurred to me that maybe later versions of PE have fixed this problem. It seems simple enough -- when I press 'Stop Capture' the temporary file instantly becomes permanent, so why not when I get a momentary interruption in the signal? It would be worth $100 to me to upgrade to PE 6 or 7 or whatever the latest version is.
So, my question is directed toward others who are plagued by this irritating message: Do the later versions of PE 'save' what has already been recorded?
    Thanks!

'Stop capture on dropped frames' was already turned off. You gave me an idea, however. I will turn it ON and see if that solves my problem (if Capture must be aborted, I want PE2 to save what has already been captured).
I had not heard of WinDV and was quite impressed. Only a 38K download, and it works right out of the box! Now to try recording and see what it does when the connection is interrupted.
Two good ideas -- thanks, both of you!

  • Ep5.0 and WAS cookies...

    Hi,
I have an iView that is calling a web page on WAS6.40.  Now my problem is when I leave the page from 6.40, it ends the session from the server, but the problem that I am running into is it also kills the portal session, deleting the cookie.
Is there a way of disabling the cookie deletion on the WAS so the portal session does not die, or a way of maintaining the portal session cookie?
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Dimitry,
Actually you are installing the Java Addin to the ECC 5.0.
This gives you the benefit of using various web
applications which use the Java web dispatcher and the
    services.
Some of the useful applications which are included in the
Java components along with the ECC 5.0 are IPC(internet
Pricing and configurator), Biller Direct, Internet Sales and some more.
For further information on the ECC 5.0 and the various
components and benefits to your scenario, follow the

  • BSP and WAS version

    Hi All,
Sorry to disturb with this simple question, but i'm very new within SAP Technology.
I'm working as Portal administrator, and the company I'm working in has some developments in BSP on WAS ABAP 6.4 and ERP 5.0
We call those bsp from portal6.
    The thing is,
1- is there any newer version for SAP Web AS than the currently 6.4 ?
if yes: can I have same BSP code or do i have to rewrite code?
2- is there any newer version for ERP?, I mean, all I know is that we have
        ECC5.0.
If new version exists: can I preserve old BSP?
Hope it is clear and I applogise if any terms above are incorrect or my questions are too obvious.
    Thank you
    Regards

    Hi Claudio,
unsurprisingly for SAP, that is not a very easy question to answer. For the ABAP stack the most appropriate answer is 7.0
    7.1 is well underway.
Ultimately you may find yourself constrained by the ERP release you are on. You will need to have it running on the WAS version that it supports which wont be the latest.
Several of my customers install a standalone WAS in their system landscape so they can take advantage of the latest ABAP and WAS technologies even though they are running older versions of ERP. Using RFC it is very easy to develop ABAP applications that call relote systems for backend functionality.
    Cheers
    Graham

  • Graphics hardware encountered a problem and was reset.

I have had my macbook pro for over two years now and never had a problem until I downloaded Mountain Lion. Now none of the games that I have purchased in the app store will work. Most won't even load to the main screen before they crash.

This is not what is wrong.  I have been getting these error messages for over 2 years on many different apps.  I have even had a partition that had windows installed and I was still getting graphics errors. The apps crash during play and some before the game loads. The list of apps include Total War Rome 2, Napoleon Total War, Civilization 5, Rome Total War, Empire Total War, Europa Universalis 3, Black & White 2, and Company of Heroes.  I have tried EVERYTHING to try to get them to work and nothing has happened.  My computer more than meets the requirements to run these apps but I still can't.

i am having macbook air recently my iphotos did not open and was showing report apple and reopen but i came to know that by pressing alt and iphotos i open an new photo library and stored the pics but now how can i get the pics which i had in the earlier photo please help me to recover my photos

    Well I'll guess you're using iPhoto 11:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • HT201250 I use Time Machine to back up my entire computer with my external hard drive. I am getting a brand new iMac this month and was wondering what is the process of using this back up to restore my new computer exactly how my old computer was?

I use Time Machine to back up my entire computer with my external hard drive. I am getting a brand new iMac this month and was wondering what is the process of using this back up to restore my new computer exactly how my old computer was? I want to make sure I will still have various important files on my new computer, like my songs in iTunes, my photos in iPhoto, etc, etc. Thanks so much in advance!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
When you turn on the new iMac for the first time, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so connect the external disk and follow steps to restore all your files to your new iMac. Your new Mac will have the same settings and programs as your old computer.
In other cases, I would recommend to restore the whole backup without using Migration Assistant or Setup Assistant, but a Late 2012 iMac uses a special OS X build, so the OS X version that you're using on your old Mac won't work on the new one. have been a Verizon customer since I got my first cell phone in my 30's - I am 50 now! A year ago, I stupidly opted to get a new phone on the EDGE program because I was trying my first Samsung device and was not sure I would like it having been an IPhone user for years.I was right! Or so I thought.... The Note 3 has been horrible. I am on my second phone(replaced it under warranty) and it still freezes, shuts off on its own, and will not come back on for long periods of time. Having had enough, I decided to EDGE Up to another device. On March 16th I tried to edge up my device online but was unable to. I immediately called to figure out what the problem was. Back in October I had a mix up in my billing where I had set up a payment. It was not done properly by customer service and as a result my line was cut off. I called the EXACT day it went off, filed a complaint about the lack of follow through for my arranged payment, and thought I had it straightened out as the payment was made that same day. That incident, although it was a Verizon error, caused my Edge Contract to be "hotlined". I spent an hour on the phone on March 16th clearing the whole mess up. When the conversation ended, the Verizon representative admitted it was a Verizon error, documented everything, and then told me she was filing a release for the hotline hold that would take a couple of days. Her name was Linda and I stupidly trusted what she said.
The days passed as I prepared to have a major foot surgery and to get my classroom straight before I would be out recovering for 3 weeks. All the time, my Samsung continued to glitch out like it has since I got it! While sitting on the couch recovering, I decided to deal with the phone issue again and EDGE UP. I figured 10 days latter, Linda would have taken care of the issue. Unfortunately, I faced the same problem and was told it was not eligible to edge up at this time. BACK on the phone again, 2 supervisors, 3 customer service reps. ( JOE from New York being the rudest customer service rep. I have EVER worked with) and 4 frustrating HOURS latter, Jason, the equally rude supervisor from Rochester, New York, informed me that Linda gave me BAD information, there was NOTHING he could do, and I am NOT eligible until April 14th!!!!! The WORST experience I have EVER had with a company. They were completely inept, rude, and not concerned about my time, my frustration, or the problems I was facing with their product in the LEAST. I have 4 LINES on Verizon that I am going to talk to Sprint about buying out. It was a horrible experience, and I can NOT believe I have no recourse or anyone to talk to....

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • Hi I have two questions. I am using NAS 4.1 and was wondering is it possible to set a different session timeout for different users? How is the session timeout set? Thanks, YS

<i>I am using NAS 4.1 and was wondering is it possible to set a different session timeout for different users?</i>
Um, there is no such thing as NAS4.1.
I'm assuming that you mean NAS4.0 (maybe NAS4.0sp1?). If so, then the session timeouts are specified in the session section of the NTV configuration files.
AFAIK, you can specify session timeouts on a per user basis.

  • Just got FiOS installed today and was given a horrible DVR. Is this normal?

The box is a Motorola QIP6416-2. After an endless installation, I finally got to sit down and play with my new service and was shocked that:
The DVR guide was not in HD. It's pillarboxed, fuzzy and very hard to read.
The performance of the interface is glacial. It often chokes during usage, queuing up button presses then performing them all at once. Just flipping through the guide is painful.
The signal is limited to 1080i. I'm probably just mistaken, but I swear I read that FiOS was 1080p.
The picture is not particularly crisp despite what Verizon claims in its adverts. The HD channels I looked at had a softness to them (though no pixelation).
The guide itself is terribly designed, just an awful, awful user experience. I can't believe I'm saying that after coming from Time Warner Cable's DVR!
A quick Google search turned up complaints about this DVR from 2010; that's like 15 years in technology!
I spoke to a Verizon rep and he said that I can upgrade to a 7216 (He offered this VERY reluctanlty and insisted he had to justify it by saying my current DVR was defective. **bleep**?), but he swore up and down that all of the above issues would exist on all boxes. He also mentioned the ability to pay an upgrade fee for a 7232 500GB box, but said it would only buy more storage and not better performance.
Any suggestions or advice about the various models and which I should be looking to get?
So far, not a great experience with FiOS, I'm disappointed.

The 7232 is just a 7216 with the 500GB drive instead of the 160GB drive.
Nope.  The 7232 has more memory (although the same size drive), has a faster CPU and newer chipsets.  It is also "greener" using less power.
Also most 7216's now going out have 500gb drives instead of the original 160bg.  And probably all are refurbished rather than new.

  • HT2477 I just purchased the IMac and was in the process of setting it up and got locked out.  A password is being requested and I did not establish one.  Is there a default password for the imac?

I just purchased the iMac and was in the process of setting it up and it locked up, requiring me to put in a password.  I never established a password, does the iMac have a default password?

If you have been using the mac.com Apple ID to make iTunes purchases recently, then there should be no issues continuing to use it with the new iPhone. I would abandon the new ID as you will never get Apple to merge the two IDs. I have had a mac.com ID for years and continue to use it with my iPhone 4S.
Tell us the issues that you encounter trying to set up the iPhone with the mac.com account.

  • Macbook pro over 5 years old phoned up because it fell onto the floor and mad a big bang looked at screen it was cracked and battery looked liked it had exploded i explaind what had happend and was told that it was normal how dangerouse is that no warning

mac book pro 17 over £2000 when new in the middle of the night i heard a loud noise found out that my laptop was on the floor looked and seen screen was craked and that what looked to me the battery had exploded coursing it to fall on to the floor the was nor warning and have had no recal letters from apple warning me that this may happen . so i phoned up apple and was speacking to some one i have thare name but wont say explaind what had happend an he said that it was normal to my shock as if it landed on any one or poss a pet as it was random .he said it was normal more than once and also i was on speaker phone and had some one else listening .i asked for him to send me what he had said via email but he said he could not so he put me through to some one called katalin who said to ignore what he had said . but at this stage i had two isues one that my expensive laptop is damaged .and the second it thta thay admited liyability by saying it was normal
after many emails and phone calls i think there best offer was if i spend about 184 pound thay would give me a £54 discount which as i have just spent over £2200 on new macbook pro was a bit on an insult
i do under stand that batterys do charge but as i had no warning especial if this was going to happen
if as thay said this is normal as it was bourght from apple direct should thay have sent a letter or email as thay would have had my details warning me that this can randomly happen as in my case .
the battery in my opinion has exploded ref defonition and .
my consern is that this could have been alot worse and no warning even thay admited that it is normal
.that sent me a letter basicly say all about my waranty .but how can this be so defently a safty isue regarding my case
i cant just buy new battery because screen craked and dont no any other things wron ref fall fery disapointed with apple but i do not have the money or time to take any further .i and my familey have many apple products and were due for upgrading but hard to think are thay save.as iphones /apads/macbook /macbookpro/and other products very disapointed .dont think i would have been treated this way by dell
