ERP 6 EHP 3/ NW 7.0 on MSSQL 2012

Hi All,
As most of you know, Microsoft pulled it's mainstream support for SQL 2008 in July.
We now need to make some decisions. Right now, we aren't ready to move to a newer EHP for ERP, so the question asked to me is, can
ERP 6 Ehp 3 run on MSSQL 2012.
I started looking at the PAM for ERP 6 EHP3, it doesn't list any details.
So I looked at the PAM for NW 7.0 https://websmp210.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001225132009E
This PAM includes all EHP's.
I see support for SQL2012 on Win 2008/2012 and see note 1651862
Our NW is 7.0 SP 17, NO EHP's.
Note says this
Required minimum SAP Netweaver Support Package Stacks (SPSs) for SQL Server 2012 (SAP ABAP, SAP ABAP+JAVA stacks)
SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 - SPS 26 (SAP BASIS 26, SAP BW 28)
Anyways else have this irritation?

As per PAM, Extended planned support for MSSQL 2008 is upto 2019. You may check the Details link under MSSQL 2008 within PAM

Our's is a new installation and I am applying the required patches in the Development system. The Kernel release is 701 and our SAP_APPL version is 600. Please let me know what will be the impact of upgrading SAP_APPL to 604.The upgrade will require the EHP installer which will ask for the XML file prepared from Solution Manager. This will involve the upgrade of all the components. Is it mandatory to do the upgrade of SAP_APPL?

EhP 5 New function, sharing template of Purchase Request or Purchase Order

Hi Experts,
From SAP ERP MM EhP 5, we can create, save and load " template " of Purchase Request or Purchase Order.
This is discribed on SAP release note of EhP 5 "LOG_MM_CI_3: Public Templates in Purchase Orders and Requisitions".
Does someone know whether this public document template is shared cross company codes, cross clients?

Trying to determine if we need the Java stack for ERP 6.0 upgrade

An issue we have regarding our research of a potential ERP upgrade to 6.0 has to do with the potential requirement to add the Java stack to the WAS engine that support our ERP. This appears significant due to the impact on infrastructure requirements and operational support. Based on the master guide for ERP 6.0, it appears that the following components would require the Java stack or usage type AS-Java:
- Biller Direct 6.0
- Learning Solution LSO (CP) 600
- ESS/MSS -- XSS 6.0
- Extended E-selling Components, XECO 5.0
- Enterprise Portal Content for Business Packages
- XI Content, Elster 2.0
Is this the complete list? Will other components of ERP or ehp's require the Java stack in the future? How likely is it that the Java stack will become a requirement for us to support ERP?

Yes, this is correct if Java Stack is already install but I understand from the question that they do not have Java installed already so if they plan to go to ECC 6.0 ABAP Stack they won´t need to install Java stack before or after upgrade.
They only need to do it´s upgrade to Abap stack to ECC 6.0 and in fact if actual 4.7 is non unicode they won´t need to make it unicode before or after either, just when installing ECC 6.0 SR3 then Unicode is the only way to intall it.

Installing SAP ERP on DB2 with high availability

Hey Gurus,
currently we're installing SAP ERP 6 EHP 6 based on DB2 for unix and windows, this is done using the high availability option on AIX 7.1 and IBM's power HA.
We have the following architecture:
          Node A:
                    1-A host for ASCS, ERS and CI.
                    2-A host for the DB instance.
The same with node B replacing CI with DI.
Please advise on how to proceed with installation.
Also I need a bit of clarification regarding how to share (or export) the file systems between the hosts of the same node so that the CI can and DB can be connected, since as far as I know the DB installation will ask for the profile directory through the installation, while the CI will ask to see the db file systems as well as the db instance.

Dev freeze needed with erp 6 ehp3 to ehp5?

Hi All,
I have a question.
Customer has this landscape
project - dev -qa - prd
ERP 6 EHP 3, no business function activated.
They now want to update this landscape to ERP 6 EHP 5
Once landscape is upgraded, the needed business functions will be activated.
Is a development freeze needed for this project?
This freeze would be from start of dev upgrade to end of prd upgrade.
It looks to me no development freeze needed, since no business functions are activated, so transports created in development ERP 6 EHP5 can still be imported in qa or prd ERP 6 EHP3.
Am I right that no dev freeze is needed?

Hi,
There will be transport freeze as once development will be upgraded to EHP5 then system will be on different support package release (EHP3 is netweaver 700 release while EHP5 is netweaver 702 release) even if business function is activated or not.

Error in inbound delivery replication ERP - EWM

Hi,
We have recently installed SAP ERP 6 EhP 6 and EWM 7.0 Ehp2 Add-On
Now, we are not being able to replicate Inbound Delivery from ERP to EWM.
As we save the ID in ERP we are getting a message that the ID has been distributed.
But the document is getting stuck in the RFC queue.
In SMQ2 the particular queue gets the status "SYSFAIL" with the error message "Function module does not exist or EXCEPTION raised. Message no. SY359"
The function module field contains "/SCWM/INB_DLV_SAVEREPLICA"
The status message says: "CREATE DATA: The document /1DF/_PDI000 is no... "
I've properly defined the standard BAPI destination and I've checked note 1398474.
Please help me get out of this mess.

As per my knowledge I haven't see this issue and table you are asking are not found as requirement in system without which delivery is able to replicate in EWM.
Also try to create new delivery in ECC and send... As you was checking in SMQ2 it means
"The status message says: "CREATE DATA: The document /1DF/_PDI000 is no..." it means after sending your delivery from ECC it is coming to back to the system where you are checking inbound queue and trying to create delivery.
That time it find NO range for delivery , so see number range assignment or number range maintenance and refusing to create delivery.
so update Number range and assignment properly for ID in EWM system and check new flow.
if resolved dont see below points.
please provide more infrmation of below error from SLG1. keep some extra selection time zone.
1. Do you have same or different client. As per above your description my understanding was same client (ECC and EWM).
If you have different client then your ECC WM parameter under EWM interface makes ur delivery move to EWM system with distribution model created with BAPI replica.
As I do not have ur system my second option will be try to check above setting and if not try to push in debug mode to see proper code.

Kernel version for SAP ERP 6 Ehp4

We have installed ERP 6 Ehp 4 with SAP kernel 7.01. Is it possible to upgrade kernel to version 7.20 without upgrading other components (basis) to Ehp 5?

Hi, this is so called Rolling Kernel switch.
you can replace to the release 720 without much problems. I have done this in release 710.
However, could exist some situations that you have to update the support package like in my case that I had the short dump DDIC_TYPELENG_INCONSISTENT after the kernel update. You can check further details in note 1636252.

Purchase Order using ESOA

I am working on ERP 6 (Ehp 4) and SUS.
Could someone pl provide me the settings to be made in ERP for sending out PO's to SUS using ESOA.
Pl throw some light on t-code SOAMANAGER and the settings to be made to enable sending out PO from ECC to SUS.

There are a few switches in SRM $ ECC which are irreversible switches which needs to be activated. After that there are 2 badi one in SRM and one in ECC where in you can code.
I am taking reference from Contract Non PI webservice that I have configured at a client place using WSRM.
I used enhancement spot PUR_SPOT_SE_PURCHASINGCONTRACT for transfer.
You may use PUR_SPOT_SE_PURCHASE_ORDER.
Also place a breakpoint using RFCUSERBBP then it might stop. Let us know if you are stuck elsewhere.

Missing entrys in SPRO after upgrade to FS-RI 6.60

Hi,
We've upgraded FS-RI 472 to 6.60 fp4. (R/3 470 to ERP 60 EHP 4)
Refering to the Release notes there should be some new entries under "Accounting", "Settings for Time Period".
There should be "Edit Financial Years", "Open and Close Accounting Periods". We only have "Edit Scope of Accounting Period".
Anyone have any idea? I guess I've missed some step in the upgrade.

Looks like you need to add more space to /tmp directory as I see the following entries in CLONE*.error file.

PDF attachements need to be accessed by other non-SAP applications

I recently was approached with a potential new business requirement that requires access to the documents that have been attached to contracts in our SAP RE-FX system. Currently the users use the GOS to attach a document of some sort (letter, lease info, etc.) to a contract object. Our GIS system has the contract lease information available to it and would like to be able, when they click on a lease area on a map, have access to the PDFs that are stored in our SAP system so they can be displayed along to users using the GIS system.
Since those documents are currently stored in the sap database table (no customizing or content server setup) SOFFCONT1, those documents are not available to the external system. They would like to have a central location where PDFs are stored and can be accessed by the SAP system or GIS system.
Is this a possibility at all?
My understanding to date is minimal on GOS and DMS and document management. Very little was/is known about it other then users can attach documents when they click the button. As an x-dba I've always been a little concerned about storing those growing number of large pdf files in the database and in a single table as well. So for the moment I'm doing what I can to learn about what options are available, and what information I can pass on to our GIS time as to a possible way to share (read only) those files.

The SAP Portal can access Vignette through iViews, KM in the Portal offers an API (the Repository Framework API) to which Vignette could connect or via which you could connect Vignette and this would e.g. make Vignette searchable trough the SAP Portal.
You see the tendency, right?
If Vignette wants to search (and before this they will have to index and crawl) KM repositories, the connectivity question lies on Vignette's side.

RFC-Error while reading table TFMCA003

we have a running system with campus management an I'm doing the customizing for a separate system SLCM with EHP3. I created a RFC-Connection as in the Base IMG Configuration Settings for Pre-Configured SAP Student Lifecycle Management (ERP 6 - EHP 3) 31 October 2007 page 8+9 described.
On the old system it works without problems but on EHP3 I get the following error displayed while creating new students: Error - check RFC-Destination RFC_FICA_ACCT_CREATE
Looking into the rfc trace I read the following entry:

So there is an error reading table TFMCA003, but this one is empty, in both systems!
Although the error message is displayed I can not see any limitation working with the created student. So it seems everything is working normal. But the message is unacceptable in a live system, of course.
Any ideas?

MOPZ error while generating stack file for EREC upgrade

I need to upgrade E-Recruitment 604 to 606.
Currently we are on Netweaver 7.01 While adding this system in SOLMAN 7.1 SPS 05 in order to generate
stack.xml file i manually selected this product system in product system
editor and we had selected below combinations
1)EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0/NW 7.01(marked as installed) + SAP ERP
-> started MOPZ with same and selected target as SAP ERP 6 EHP 7 but
while doing so got error as Invalid queue because EA_APPL is not selected
but actually EA_APPL is not in components for EREC system
2)EHP4 for SAP ERP 6 with ABAP technology and E RECRUITING + EHP1 for
NW 7.0
->started MOPZ with target as SAP netweaver 7.4 but while doing so
getting error as "EHP Component ERECRUIT 604 without suitable Technical Usage!"
and Mark relevant instance to include the software component ERECRUIT
604 in SMSY/LMDB but Product system editor is perfect and verification tool is also green.

During Upgrade checks it says I must Upgrade Database first before continue since DB Release is too low for NW 7.4 SP9 as stated in Note

So, at this point I agree i have to update SQL Server to 2012 before next step
Now, my concern is that my Source System does not have the minimum NW SP level (14) to run under SQL Server 2012 which is 26.

If your system is running on a SPS lower than the one required above, you have to apply the minimum required SPS before upgrading/migrating to SQL Server 2012.
If you install a NetWeaver product on SQL Server 2012, the required SPS for your product must be applied immediately after the installation - see SAP note 1676665, section I for more information.
But performing the Upgrade would be technically possible? I mean not for productive use but technicaly during that time the Database is Upgrade and during SUM Execution.
According to the note it states if you install a Netweaver Product in SQL Server 2012, SPS must be applied immediately, so is kinda ambigous what SAP is saying.

Hi Martin,
For a test scenario, there's no harm in trying it (other than spending a lot of time on it, but hopefully that will prove not to be a waste). Generally, I expect you'll be fine upgrading your DBMS even though you aren't on the required minimum SP yet. The main thing you'll be missing out on is the updates to DBACOCKPIT, but once you do your EhP upgrade (with sps update included), you'll be putting that in place.
So, you could try this on your sandbox system and see if there are any problems. I assume the intent is to start the EhP upgrade as soon as the DBMS upgrade is done, right? In other words, you won't be actually using the system without the required SP except to run the EhP upgrade?
Alternatively, you could do a minimal support pack update, perhaps just a Basis SP only, to the minimum SP needed for your current release, then do the DBMS upgrade, then proceed with the EhP upgrade. This would be the safest procedure, but, as I said, I expect you can probably get away without going to this level without much problem. Again, the idea would be minimizing the time between the start and end of the total project on each system (DEV, QAS, PRD, etc).

The Source is protected - HANA Migration

I have performed a migration from SAP ERP 6 EHP 7 SQL database on HANA database.
Now I have a problem with a client program.
The program can not start(F8) -> Error The Source is protected. But the code can be viewed, but not changed, because there is no license.
But that with the license was before the upgrade too.
What should / can I do so that I can run the program again?

Migration Assistant in Mavericks is compatible with OS X Snow Leopard v10.6.8 or later. If you are migrating from an earlier version of OS X, update your older computer first, or manually copy your data from one computer to another.
