Err 3259 when trying to download a purchased track

I've purchased an album tonight (Crystal Castles) and iTunes won't download the video that comes with the track.
I keep getting a time out error -3259.
I've downloaded videos before without issue. I've tried disabling my AV just in case that is it, I've turned off the simultaneous downloads, but to no avail.
I'm connecting wirelessly, as I usually do. Any ideas?

Thanks for the response...
I thought it might be the AV, but it downloaded about 30 tracks without problem, its only the video that was problematic.
I've tried again tonight and got a security alert that the firewall was blocking it. So I've disabled the firewall and the intrusion prevention, logged out and logged back in, but it still keeps displaying a -3259 error.
Unfortunately its a work laptop, so I can't disable the AV as a whole because its locked down, but as I say, I've downloaded music videos in the past without this issue.
I can't get an iTunes Network Diagnostics report as iTunes shuts down everytime I try to run it.

I had the same problem! I don't know what caused it, possibly slow Internet but I suppose my antivirus or other software could have affected it. Maybe it's an iTunes problem.
After restarting the download at least 5 times in iTunes after it timed out, I found this website. I didn't know this before, but you can download the update in your browser and then apply it to your iPhone in iTunes once it finishes. I used Firefox 4 and it downloaded without timing out once. All you have to do is hold down Shift and then click on Update in iTunes and it will prompt you to select the update that you downloaded and it will apply it.
Try this and let me know how it works!

I am getting err= -100000 when trying to download a song

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I have purchased the Bob Evans Cd called Suburban Songbook, and when itunes tries to download it, it gives me an err 404 and stops. In the store it looks as if the link is broken. I have purchased heaps of music from the itunes store and this has never happened before. Any Ideas what to do?

Contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them. Then wait a week or so and try again.

  • This computer is already associated with an Apple ID (when trying to download family purchases)

On my iMac I have five user accounts: 1 master family, father (me), wife, daughter and son.  For iTunes, the family is used for family sharing and as is the organizer for family purchases.
My son's iCloud account is maintain through the Family account as he is under 13.  I recently set up his user on the family computer and today started to build up his iTunes library so he can sync his iPod.  iTunes was not logged into his iCloud account and had no music (it had not been used before).  I entered his iCloud account and annoyingly it would not recognize the password I had recorded for him so I had to go through iForgot,  Once in I went to family purchases to download a song that I had just purchased on the family account.  It stated that this computer was not authorized to I authorized it using my son's iCloud account. When I went to download it stated:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.
You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 72 days.
What?  It's a new set up....
I deauthorized the computer and reauthorized it using the family account, as the computer is registered to the family account.  Why I tried to download again I did not get the error about but this time it said the computer was not authorized (even though I just did it).  I appear to be stuck in a cycle of Apple ID association or authorization denial.  I'm a little PO'd.
In the end I did it the old fashioned way and simply dragged in the music using family sharing (as this is switched on).
Beyond having to wait 72 days for the Apple ID to resolve itself is there any other options?  Can I delete the entire user account of the computer and try again?  I'd be willing to do that if I thought it would work...

Not from your end. Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance.

  • I get error message -3259 when trying to download Version 5 update for I  pad, yet the internet connection is still operational. Why is this?

When trying to upload Version 5 update for IPad after the download is complete and the files are being processed I get an error message - 3259 which says the internet connection is timed out but in fact it is still operational. The download is unsuccessful. Why is this?

Try temporarily turning off your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.

  • Why do I get an error "50" when trying to download a purchase and what can be done about it?

I've been trying (over a number of evenings, days) during the last 8 weeks to download my purchase of The Amazing Spiderman movie itunes extras.  It gets so far and re-starts from where it last started and if I stop it and start it I get an error "50" message saying it's an unknown error.  My internet connection is functioning perfectly well as I have been able to download other items in iTunes.  How can I get my purchase downloaded?  Can anyone help?

  • Stopped (err = -19) when trying to download a movie?

    Hi,
I have seen similar threads relating to -50 error codes and was wondering if this is the same thing?  Sadly iTunes Customer Support have given me no guidance on how to resolve this so hoping the Community can help!
When I open iTunes the movie tries to download the iTunes Extra content for the movie but then I immediately get connectivity error messages.  I am unable to view any of the iTunes Extras even though the download is showing that it has downloaded 336.9 of 336.9MB?
I am confused to say the least and hoping someone out there can assist.
    Many thanks!

    Hi Maxmutt
I have the same issue as you although I'm not sure that the code is the same.  I recently purchasesd Avengers Assemble with iTunes Extras, the movie file downloaded fine (no connection issues etc.) as did the itunes extra file but then it wouldn't process the file.  It is now stuck in my downloads viewer saying it has downloaded 336.9MB of 336.9MB but there is an error.  This is the second iTunes extra file I have stuck.  Looking around the forums I see a few people complaining of a similar issue but no solutions.  I reported the issue and they reset my download but the issue happened again.  They have now advised me to contact Apple Care.
Just wondering if you've managed to resolve your issue or if anyone else has had this problem and found a solution.  In all honesty I'm not that bothered about the additional content.  I don't seem to be able to clear the download from my viewer and stop iTunes from trying to download the file.
Any thoughts, suggestions or help from the community would be most appreciated.
    Many Thanks,

  • Error 3259 when tried to download iOS5

    Hi,
keep on trying to download the update and do all the prompts about backing up stuff before the download etc
tried it last night didnt get very far and got error 3259...
tried it this morning and got to about half way and error 3259
just trying again now and it seems to be estimated time of 5 hours
now I know I have a crap internet speed but is that about right? is it the slow internet that is making it crash and making me have to start the ENTIRE download again?
what is error 3259 anyways? I havent had problems with previous downloading of software updates?
    hope someone can help thanks

    Hello all,
I had the same issue with attempting to update the iOS 5 software for the past week now and receiving the same failed update (with error message).  The anti-virus program that I use is Kaspersky Pure.  I googled and read all threads on how to fix this issue.  Most people recommended doing a direct download, which I initiated, but that didn't work or uninstalling the anti-virus software, which I can't do because I don't have my installation cd.  So, what I did was the following, I wasn't expecting for it to work but I guess anything would help at this point; however this technique worked perfectly and now I have the update !  Keep in mind I have Windows Vista.
    1. I went to Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
A pop up window will display and you have to go to "Windows Firewall Properties"
Under (all 3 ) Domain Profile, Private Profile, and Public Profile set the "Firewall State" to off.  Hit Apply then exit.
    2.  Next I went to Kaspersky Pure and did the following:
I opened the "Settings" for the antivirus program. I went to "Protection."  This will open the "Network Ports" screen.  I unchecked every port (I mean every single port).  Under the same tab I also unchecked "Monitor all ports for specified applications."
Still working under the "Protection" tab under each sub tab I unchecked everything that was checked
Finally I restarted my computer with the Iphone connected
    3. Voila! The update worked.
    Hope this helps you guys.
