  • Help!!! err = 9006

When I try to download my purchased items from itunes store to my library, it always stops and the err = 9006 comes up. Can someone please help me. I have purchased songs, but cannot download them.

I ran into the same thing while downloading a season. I have a theory on the cause and am fairly certain I found the solution:
*The cause*, I unchecked the "Allow simultaneous downloads" box in the middle of downloading the season. At the time, it was downloading 3 episodes simultaneously. It stopped the 2nd and 3rd and continued downloading the first to completion. It was these two stopped episodes that kept throwing the "err = 9006" error afterwards.
I tried some of the solutions I found online: rechecking for purchases, logging out and logging back into my iTunes account, etc -- but none helped.
*My solution*: I shut down iTunes and went into my music folder. There should be a folder called "Downloads" that contains the download fragments and some other partial download playlists. I deleted everything in that folder (on second thought, it might be wise to simply copy it elsewhere as a backup -- just in case) and then restarted iTunes. I ran the "check for purchases" tool again and sure enough the two episodes downloaded fine.
I'm guessing that something got corrupted in the download and the only way to do it was to start from scratch. Since iTunes only counts it against you when you complete the download, you're fine to delete the partial download and start over.
    Hope this helps!

  • Err -9006

i try to download a movie and err -9006 keeps coming up. i've gone to store=>check for purchases many, many times but err -9006 keeps coming up. apple tells me it's something to do with my firewall, but i've successfully downloaded other movies and had not problem (i downloaded one the same day i tried to download this one). i don't know what to do to download my movie. can anybody out there help out--i'm not to computer savvy. thanks!!

Look for a folder called "Downloads" in your iTunes Music folder. If there is such a folder, look for files that would be the partial download and delete those, so that the download starts over from the beginning. Then try again using the "Check for Purchases" command under the iTunes Store menu.
If that doesn't work and the problem persists, contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them.
    Good luck.

  • Err=9006-cannot finish downloading purchased movie

I am trying to download the 10 commandments; but it stops almost immediately and shows only 7 kilobytes downloaded with err-9006 in the download progress column.
The movie is in my download list but when i try to "resume" the download, it wont download saying that the download is interrupted and i have to check for purchases. I then check for purchases and trys to download but it almost immediately stops downloading saying stopped downloading and "check for purchases" which i again do and the same thing happens...wont download... not sure what the problem is; but cant download this movie--also tried restarting my computer and deleting the movie from the download list...when i check for purchases the movie reapears on download list; but same thing happens as described before.
I also have been able to download other videos/movies after this error occurred; but for some reason i cannot download this movie (the 10 commandments).

  • Err- 9006 Having issues with three episodes....

    Hey all,
I am getting an err-9006 on three episodes. They are partially downloaded.
Reps at iTunes are giving me they do not know what to do. Offering a refund. The problem is one of the three episodes is a part two of two in the season and well that would just make me angry. :O)
Any ideas. Software is the most up to date for everything.
    Sean

I am practically convinced that this is a problem beyond your (and my) control. I've encountered this "err=9006" problem twice now (once with a tv episode, and another with a movie, both purchased from the iTunes store). The first time, I contacted iTunes Support, and they basically said that I needed to plug my modem/router directly into my computer, and by-pass my wi-fi connection. Sounds like voodoo, right? Anyway, it worked.
The second time, with the movie, I tried the same thing, and it didn't work. I restarted my computer, and my modem/router, and again tried plugging my computer directly into the modem/router, but it didn't work this time. I was about to fire off another email to iTunes support (from the iTunes store link), and it directed me to the "are you sure?" splash page within the iTunes Store, where it gave me the option to download my file, or proceed to contacting iTunes Support. I tried this download link (remember, I tried downloading through my iTunes Store account already via the "available downloads" link 20 times already, which didn't work), and this download link worked!
Something is up here, and as I wrote above, I don't think it has anything to do with any computer set-up, or operating system OS, or internet modem/router. I think it's a network problem - either on your (our) internet service provider's, or on the iTunes Store's end of things. My guess is that with "err=9006" problems, if you repeatedly try to download your problem file enough times (like 100 times!), it will just eventually work. But, try plugging your computer directly into your modem/router - that voodoo may work for you!

  • Can't Update my Iphone 4.0 to IOS 5.0 ,,, Err 3259 & Err 9006

  • What is (err=9006) I cant download a movie!?!?!?!?!

I tried to download lord of the rings the fellowship of the rings today and it stoped like 8 times and gave me (err=9006) what does that mean and what should or can I do about it.

I've been running into this issue on my AppleTV all the time and sometime see it on my macs at the same location. Sometimes it resolves itself after a few days but I currently have two movies I rented a couple of weeks ago that still won't download. This is truly frustrating. Any chance someone from Apple could give an explanation for the error code so we can try and debug this?

  • What is up with this err = 9006? is there any solutions, this is ridiculous considering the time and money i'm wasting (mostly the time) i have seen no solutions thus far.

I've found the following on that page for error 9006 :
Errors related to third-party security software
    Error 2, 4 (or -4), 6, 1000, and 9006
Follow the steps to troubleshoot security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or phobos.apple.com isn't blocked by a firewall or other Internet security setting.
Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under "Advanced steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)" below for file locations.
Restore your device while connected to a different network.
    Restore using a different computer.

  • Error 9006 help

so today i recived my uncles iphone 4s and he has forgotten the itunes password when i put it in recorvey mode it keeps coming up with error 9006 so how do you resolve it

    Good day thomasallen818,
It sounds as if you are trying to do a restore of your uncle's iPhone and iTunes is giving your an error 9006 when you try to do so, is that right? This article tells what to do for various errors while restoring an iPhone -
Resolve iOS update and restore errors in iTunes - Apple Support
If the basic steps in that article are unable to resolve the issue, this article has some specific steps for that error -
Get help with iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support
    Specifically -
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can stop your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't blocking a connection to the Apple servers.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Can't download Transformers: Dark of the Moon. "err 9006"

As the title suggests, I get an "error 9006" message when trying to download Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
I've tried restarting my pc, restarting my router etc. My iTunes is up to date. I've even tried dowloading a random song off iTunes to see if it was my connection to the store. That was fine.
It's been quite a while now and I still haven't received a response from Apple's "customer service".
Anyone know anything about this? It's a very vague error message.

Transformers released in the UK last week and I too had problems downloading the digital copy that came with my blu ray, and today the same problem with the latest Harry Potter.
All other triple play blu rays I have bought have had the digital copy on one of the discs, but these two have to be downloaded via the itunes store.  The Transformers reached 164 Mb and failed with error 50, got it going again and it reached 1.54 Gb of 2.24 Gb, then error 50 and went back to only being 134 Mb downloaded.  Harry Potter has reached 1.20 Gb and error 50 occured - and it has taken 10 hours to reach that!
My broadband is capped at 5 Gb and above that usage I pay per Gb, the Transformers download actually used 3.2 Gb of that 5 Gb, and the Harry Potter has virtually used the rest so instead of being free with my blu ray, they have both cost me around £10 and my data downloads will be slowed down till the end of the month.  (My BB is linked to my work so it is difficult for me to move to an unlimited download provider).
Anyone any idea why this is happening?  Once I have managed to download I will complain to Apple as it is the iTunes download that is failing, but it is a bit daft that WB make you download rather than put the film on a disc.  And their help page is no use as you have to input the name of the film - and guess what, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 doesn't seem to exist, even though they have probably sold millions of copies since Friday.

  • Getting err 9006 and err 8003

I tryed to download a season of shows and i get a err on the videos while they download and the errs are 9006 and 8003

I too have experienced this; but do not loose heart as the songs eventually come down. I had 42 to update since the upgrade. I now have 8 remaining. I get all the errors (some 8xxx too). They make no sense. There is no Apple coverage of the problem. It appears for me they are specific to artists. Meaning I had one album come down quick; one a little slower and now the remaining hardly at all. I get a couple hundred K every now and then and keep trying when they error out. I guess I am one of thousands doing the same. Would be nice if Apple would respond and at least post that they are aware and working on better load balancing.

  • ERR 1009 help!

Running a Mac. Updated to Muse CC (2014.2) about a week ago. Started getting Err. 1009 when I tried to change or edit text objects and pull things from the widgets panel. Recreated the error making a new site and the same thing happened when I tried to insert text on the same version of Muse. Also tried uninstalling Muse CC 2014.2 and reinstalling. Didn't work. The site I need fixed is very large and I'm on a tight deadline. There's no way I can start from scratch. HELP!
Update: After messing around with the assets panel (embedding links) I can now edit text and insert images without the #1009 error popping up. But as soon as I try to click and drag something, anything on the page or from the library and assets panels, I get the error and Muse crashes. Maybe a bug in the drag event handler in the newest version of Muse?

  • Cannot download TV episodes "stopped (err = 9006)"

I can't download 4 episodes of 19 from a season pass I purchased. I have no firewall, virus-protection, or web-acceleration software installed beyond what OSX provides.
    I have tried:
    (1) Checking for Available Downloads repeatedly.
    (2) Clearing the "~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads" folder repeatedly.
    (3) Downloading from my iMac and my Macbook Pro (each with it's own user account).
    (4) Creating a new, test user account.
    (4) Downloading from two different physical locations.
Nothing works. Apple Support insists: "this error is caused by limits set by your ISP. It tends to occur with files that are over 2GB in size. It isn't based on the file being SD or HD but the total overall size of the file.
I do realize you have mentioned that you have contacted your ISP and they said there is no limit set on your downloading and that you have also tried downloading from two different locations.
Unfortunately, there is not something that I can do on this end to make these files download so I can just refer you to your ISP again to consult about this issue."
I made 2 separate calls to my ISP. They claim, and my experience suggests, there's no limits and according to speetest.net my bandwidth is fine. Furthermore, the files I can't download range from 300 - 800 MB.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

This may be a little late to be suggesting anything for this but I ran into the same problem just this morning while downloading a TV episode. I am running OS X 10.9.5 and iTunes 12.1.0.50 .
Tried all the usual things such as re-starting iTunes and re-booting my MBP with no resolution. Checked some threads that suggested running using an Ethernet cable connection rather than Wifi or turning Wifi off. Tried both and still no resolution...the error 9006 continued. Checked some other threads on this and saw that someone suggested the Firewall could be involved.
So I checked my Firewall and found the OS X Firewall was indeed turned on as per System Preferences for Security & Privacy. Before trying by turning the Firewalll off, I clicked on the lock and entered the password to get Admin privileges This allowed me to click on Firewall Options where I got the window listing the apps in which incoming connections were allowed. I noticed that iTunes had two lines in this list while the other 4 apps in the list had only one. I deleted the second line for iTunes thinking that the first line would be the oldest one.
With Wifi turned off and connected via an Ethernet cable, I tried the download again and it worked. I paused the download and turned Wifi back on. The download resumed OK. I paused the download again and disconnected the Ethernet cable. The download resumed again normally.
Don't know why there would have been two lines for iTunes in that list I saw but deleting the second line seemed to resolved my 9006 error. I see this is a very old thread but thought I'd add my comments anyway.

  • Err = -100000 Help

I purchased an Album and Track 01 throws off the error (err= -100000), despite the fact that I can download podcasts as well as the other 20 songs on the album. What gives? I know for a fact that I am behind a firewall and an additional level of security, neither of which I can tamper with.

Could be the security that's causing the error.
Try disabling a/v software and turn off the Firewall.
    Disable antivirus software
Turn Windows Firewall on or off
