$$$/Err/Sport/File/Exceptions/MiscDisk

After rebuilding my DVD three times, I FINALLY was able to get a working copy finished. After watching the DVD, I noticed I had put the wrong date in the title, and went back to Encore to fix this little error. I went to the menu, clicked on "edit in photoshop", and went on to change the date. As I went back to Encore I received an error message saying that it had a problem reading the photoshop file. I continued by restarting Encore hoping it would fix itself, but wasn't so lucky. Now, it won't open any part of the project, and continues to give the same error message. The entire error is as follows.
There was a problem reading the Photoshop file. $$$/Err/Sport/File/Exceptions/MiscDisk=A file-system error has occurred.
After already rebuilding this DVD three times for other errors, I do not consider that an option. If someone could please direct me in a way that will just let me open my project again; I will be very grateful.
My system is dual P4 2.8GHz processors, 4Gb RAM, running Windows XP Service pack 2.

That is an error that has to do with a corrupted photoshop file inside the folder "Sources" of the DVD project. Inside that folder are all files including temp that encore builds every time we make a correction to a psd file in encore using photoshop at the same time. Sort the files by date to see which files where edited in photoshop last. Try to open these files to check which one is corrupted. Once u find it delete it or better replace it with the correct psd file but make sure u know which psd menu it is. In my case there were a few psd files with the same number but different ending at name. For example i had:
Menu_Ppgc_Osf_790983638.psd
Menu_Ppgc_Osf_790983638_temp.psd
Menu_Ppgc_Osf_790983638_temp.psd#1A.psd
Menu_Ppgc_Osf_790983638_temp.psd#1B.psd
the first one was corrupted and encore could not open the project. It is exactly the same as the temp one so i copy-paste the "Menu_Ppgc_Osf_790983638_temp.psd" at desktop and renamed it to "Menu_Ppgc_Osf_790983638.psd". then i paste and replaced it inside the sources folder (DVD/project_name/Sources). Now encore could read the file and managed to get back to the project and continue work.
Hope that helps!

    Perhaps someday the troll will finally realize that it is worthless and will go away. No one cares about what it has to say and no one has ever found it to be helpful. Even good information is bad information when it is presented in an insulting, blathering,
    incoherent, and belittling tone. Plus, I think it's really funny when something tries to justify its own sad existence by making itself feel superior (when it clearly isn't). Sometimes I almost feel bad for it, but then it reminds me of how big of a jerk it

    When a browser attempts accessing to my webwork, the server opens a certain number of file descriptors to "tapestry-framework-4.1.1.jar" file and don't release them for a while.

    These unknown references are sometimes released automatically, but sometimes not.
    And I get "Too many open files" exception after using my application for a few hours.
    The number of the unknown references increases as I access to my webwork or just hit on "F5" key on my browser to reload it.
    I tried different types of browsers to see if I could see any differences in consequence, and in fact it differed by the browser I used.
    When viewed by Internet Explorer it increased by 3 for every access.
    On the other hand it increased by 7 for each attempt when accessed by FireFox.
    I have already tried optimizing the max number of file discriptors, and it solved the "Too many open files" exception.
    But stil I'm wondering who actually is opening "tapestry-framework-4.1.1.jar" this many.
    Could anyone figure out what is going on?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Cause might The server got an exception while trying to accept client connections. It will try to backoff to aid recovery.
    The OS limit for the number of open file descriptor (FD limit) needs to be increased. Tune OS parameters that might help the server to accept more client connections (e.g. TCP accept back log).

    That bug refers to some changes which were made in WLS to support Servlet 3.0 file upload. However, this EOF file exception is observed in a much older release of WLS which does not have the Servlet 3.0 changes yet so that bug shouldn't apply. In addition, this exception is described as being intermittent while the Servlet 3.0 issue is consistently reproducible.

    Thanks for the obvious question. I mean it. The very same thought came to me this morning and, sure enough, I had booted into another drive--my old one that, of course, had the old desktop, etc.
    It didn't dawn on me that this was the case since I hadn't set it as a boot drive but I guess in the course of all the restarts I did, it got switched.
    I'm back to normal again.

    No. It is related to trying to run a JAR file produced by a later JDK than the one you have installed. As it says in the Javadoc..

    Hi
    Actually the problem is not with the client but with the servlet I think. In the servlet, I am able to retrieve the attachment and print its content. After receiving the Message, I am creating a new message and populating its body with a new child element and returning the message back to the client. Just Before returning the message, I am getting the Axis Fault error in the log file. I am giving the code for the Servlet I have used below:

  • Error when uploading par files - Exception

    Hi all,
    I'm getting an error when I try to upload any par file of the MSS package through the administration console. The error thrown is:
    Messages:
    INFO: Detected Portal Archive File: com.sap.pct.hcm.attendanceoverview.par
    INFO: Application successfully stored in the PCD
    Messages from Server ID 8657950
    ERROR: Operation failed: The archive com.sap.pct.hcm.attendanceoverview has not been deployed.
    ERROR: Exception caught: com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: [PortalApplicationItem.prepare]: com.sap.pct.hcm.attendanceoverview
    The error is displayed in the administration console. The logs don't say anything useful. I'm getting a few exceptions about finding archives and this error message: get data source CVERS failed! Trying SAP/BC_UME...
    I have checked the rights to all directories and the directory structure. We're running EP6.0 with SP 9.
    Thanks for your time.
    regards,
    Dion

    Hi Dion,
    i would think that SAP tries to stop uploads of par files which should be installed with them SDM or import of a whole package.
    Try the following :
    - rename the par file name from com.sap.... to something else...
    or :
    -  import the par into Developer Studio and change the project name
       change/delete the META-INF files
    Another question : why do you want to install only certain elements of the MSS package ?
    Regards,
    Kai

  • Error writing metadata to any file except jpegs

    Hi all,
    A coworker and I have been assigned the job of keywording all the photos in our database. We aren't photographers and are only messing with the keyword metadata on the photos.
    But we've been having a consistent problem with Bridge CS4. When I attempt to add keywords to any file format except jpeg, it gives me an error message "Error writing metadata to " and the filename. Then to make matters even worse, Bridge continues trying to add the metadata to the same images over and over again until I do a forced shutdown.
    We're running Bridge on a network with exported cache. The only thing I have found as a possible solution is a permissions setting problem, but I can't find any way to check on that.
    Any help you can offer would be great. Thanks!

    I had this same problem. This was the solution for me in my CS4.
    Go to Bridge
    Go to Preferences
    Go to Metadata
    Make sure IPTC and Keywords are checked.
    This will allow you to add keywords to your metadata in bridge.
    Here it is not checked:

  • Can a include file exception crash an app server?

    Hi,
              Can somebody please help me with the answer to this question?
              Question is: I have an include file in a jsp page. But this include
              file is not present on the server and hence it is giving an
              exception.This exception is being caught and a message is thrown on
              the console.Now, will this exception 'crash' my app server anytime?
              Also will the exception be thrown everytime a user tries to access the
              jsp page? Please help.
              Thanks,

              No. It shouldn't crash the app server.
              > Also will the exception be thrown everytime a user tries to access the
              > jsp page? Please help.
              Yes, until the file that is included exists or until the page handles the
              exception.

  • Par file exception in production server

    Hi All,
    I had customized logon page for portal. It is working fine in Development and Quality system, but when i upload the same par to Production System i am getting the following error. I am uploading through the Pdk Archieve Deployer and Remover and when i try to preview the logon page through PDK Starter and Viewer, I am getting the following error.
    com.sap.engine.applications.security.logon.LogonApplicationPermission.
    Exceoption id: 04:17_23/04/09_0014_813597951
    see the details for the exception ID in the log file.
    I had seen the log file but i could not get any information. Anybody please help me out in this.
    Regards
    Raghu

    One way to avoid the problem is to use NFS files sharing among the app servers, so they have, in effect, a single files system that they all access.
    Another approach is to store the information in a database table, rather than a file, so that it is accessible from all the app servers.

  • UTL file exception handling oracle 11g

    We use oracle 11g
    We use UTL file and exception handling in many place. Thanks in advance.
    We have many utl program and we are writing same exception handling code ,copy and paste .
    It is possible to create new UTL exception procedure and call it.
    I am not sure how to write generic UTL exception procedure and reuse the same.
    I am learning oracle etl files method.
    Please advise.
    sample program 1 :
    DECLARE
    fileHandler UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;
    BEGIN
    fileHandler := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('test_dir', 'test_file.txt', 'W');
    UTL_FILE.PUTF(fileHandler, 'Writing TO a file\n');
    UTL_FILE.FCLOSE(fileHandler);
    EXCEPTION
    when utl_file.invalid_path then
    raise_application_error(-20001,
    'INVALID_PATH: File location or filename was invalid.');
    when utl_file.invalid_mode then
    raise_application_error(-20002,
    'INVALID_MODE: The open_mode parameter in FOPEN was invalid.');
    when utl_file.invalid_filehandle then
    raise_application_error(-20002,
    'INVALID_FILEHANDLE: The file handle was invalid.');
    when utl_file.invalid_operation then
    raise_application_error(-20003,
    'INVALID_OPERATION: The file could not be opened or operated on as requested.');
    when utl_file.read_error then
    raise_application_error(-20004,
    'READ_ERROR: An operating system error occurred during the read operation.');
    when utl_file.write_error then
    raise_application_error(-20005,
    'WRITE_ERROR: An operating system error occurred during the write operation.');
    when utl_file.internal_error then
    raise_application_error(-20006,
    'INTERNAL_ERROR: An unspecified error in PL/SQL.');
    when utl_file.invalid_filename then
    raise_application_error(-20010, 'The filename parameter is invalid.');

    IF UTL_FILE.IS_OPEN(fileHandler ) THEN
    UTL_FILE.FCLOSE (fileHandler );
    END IF;
    RAISE;
    END;
    How to write generic procedure of utl exception handling ?
    please advise.
    create or replace procedure sp_utl_exception
    begin
    when utl_file.invalid_path then
    raise_application_error(-20001,

    when utl_file.invalid_operation then
    raise_application_error(-20003,

    when utl_file.read_error then
    raise_application_error(-20004,

    IF UTL_FILE.IS_OPEN(fileHandler ) THEN
    UTL_FILE.FCLOSE (fileHandler );
    END IF;
    RAISE;
    end;

    Very poor implementation.
    a) Absolutely no need for that exception handler in there. It should be removed.
    b) As it's a procedure for logging exceptions relating to UTL_FILE, it would seem error prone to be logging the errors with UTL_FILE. For example, what is it supposed to do if the exception is raised because of lack of disk space in those file locations? How is it going to write out the exception with the disk full? Also, if the exception handler is used by multiple processes, then only 1 process at a time can access the log file to write it's exceptions, so it doesn't scale well. Better logging is done by having an autonomous transaction procedure that writes log/trace messages to dedicated table(s). That also means that the logs etc. can be viewed, as appropriate, from any client using SQL (either manually or through a application written to view logs etc.), rather than requiring physical/remote access to the server o/s to go and view the contents of the file, which in itself could lock the file and prevent any process from writing further logs whilst it's being used.
