Hi All
I have a 7200 series Router and I have just had a wierd crash...
Debug from console @ crash time attached below - Any ideas ???
Thanks
MalcolmHi, don't take this as a personal critique, but a bit more information about what a "new version is" would be beneficial for your organization.
You have 12.3 T in which new features are introduced version after version. At some point the process stops and the result is called 12.4 in which very limited features are introduced. Then by testing or whatever other method cisco decides that 12.4(3j) is the the most suited for general use and in fact it is what the new routers are shipped for. the j means that there have been a-b-c-d-e-f-g-h-i releases before, each one consisting of bug fixes only.
So, using that on a router is a safe choice and not a "big version change".
In my experience I've seen that many times, customers exithating in upgrade, getting the consequences of bugs in the meanwhile. -
Multilink limitations application on Cisco 7200 Series
Hi,
Can someone please mention if Multilink can be supported on Cisco 7200 Series?
IOS version:
IOS 7200 Software (C7200-P-M), Version 12.3(16a), SOFTWARE (fc2)
cisco 7206VXR
Any comment will be appreciated.
Thank you.Hi -
Our s/w development group is in the process of implementing ipv6 support in our products, and would like to use our Cisco 2650XM running ITP s/w for ipv6 interoperability tests.
However, it appears that ipv6 is not supported in this s/w version:

ITP1#config
Configuring from terminal, memory, or network [terminal]?
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
ITP1(config)#ipv6 ?
% Unrecognized command
My question is: Can I use this s/w version on the 2650XM in an ipv6 network? Do I need to upgrade the s/w?
Thanks,

Lecture message redondant sur un port serie rs232
Bonjour,

Video controller unknown (7200 series)
Dear reader,
I recently upgraded my 7200 from MS Win 98SE to MS Win 2000 professional (SP 4). Now my screen only displays 16 colors.
The Windows hardware wizard tells me that my Video Controller (VGA Compatible) is unknown ("The drives for this device are not installed. (Code 28)"), but it can't find any suitable driver by itself and I don't have one at hand. Also the Windows display settings tell me that a "(default monitor) on VGA display" is currently installed.
Can anyone tell me where I can download/find a suitable driver to have more colors displayed at preferably higher resolution?
Thx in advance,
Rob.HI,
you could go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com then Drivers&Download and choose your machine and OS!
If there is no W2k driver you could go to http://newsletter.toshiba-tro.de/main/index.html
There you could search your machine configuration and search for a driver in the internet for your own!

This is the the alert I keep getting when i try to add this new printer
"Can't install the software for the Samsung CLX-3180 Series because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."
Im am having BIG problems getting my printer to be recognizedwater bar wrote:
I am getting the identical error message for an HP Officejet 7200 series printer.
First there is a message that software is available from Apple. You click to get it. Then it tells you that it is not currently available from the software update server.
I am running OS 10.8.2. Printer is on my home network (not USB).
I went to the Apple Software Dowload site and re-downloaded the latest "HewlettPackard Printer Drivers" (v.2.12) and installed them (twice). No dice.
Anybody found a way around this problem?
I solved all print related issues by avoiding HP, worst software I ever saw, this may not work for you though. -
Trying to install os 8 on 7200/75
Picked up an old but in very good condition power macintosh 7200/75.I am trying to install a retail copy of os 8 on it. Tried the press c on bootup but it goes straight to the hard drive. When the computer is booted into 7.6.1 and the os 8 cd is in the drive it does not show on the desktop. I also tried booting to the disk tools floppy but this gets spit out and when I try to look at it in 7.6.1 it says the disk is unreadable.
When I look at the contents of the cd on my macbook everything appears to be fine.
Any ideas?Of the (2) "Disk Tools" floppy disks that were included with the OS installer CD, one was designed to boot a pre-PowerPC Mac and the other a PowerPC Mac. Obviously, the latter should work with your 7200, but the fact that neither does raises the question of whether the floppy drive is functional. When booted in OS 7.6.1, have you tried inserting a blank floppy disk to test the drive's read/write capabilities? I had a couple of unresponsive (worn out) floppy drives that I had to replace, when I bought some older, used Power Macs. If you had any thrift stores in your area that sold older computers for very little, you might be able to find a comparable Power Mac to use for parts. This would eliminate the shipping expense for the odds & ends you may need to buy. Keep in mind that a functioning 7200 with a 75 MHz 601 processor is a slow computer. Even if your expectations are minimal, the costs for reviving it will likely exceed its value. I made that mistake about 6-7 years ago, when I bought (3) 7200s (mint condition) for very little. Although the processor speeds varied (75 MHz, 90 MHz, and 120 MHz), the 7200 motherboard had serious upgrade limitations - especially with a soldered processor. Fortunately, the 7200 power supply is compatible with the 7500, 7600, and 8500 motherboards. I ended up replacing all three motherboards with 8500 boards, which provided dual SCSI buses, a processor slot (enabling the use of a variety of faster processors), more memory slots, and an A/V module. I poured too much money into them, making them the equivalent of the better-designed PCI Power Macs that replaced the 7200 series. Today - even in mint condition - I wouldn't invest any $$ in a 7200 or any of the "beige" Macs. Two years ago, when I saw a mint condition beige G3-266 MHz desktop for $25 in a thrift store, I had to remind myself that it was 10 years old and resist the urge to buy it.

7200 as centralized network service platform
I'm about to gain a 7206VXR that's being decommissioned from its current purpose and plan to utilize it not for routing, but to provide centralized services to other routers in the enterprise. My initial thoughts are as a primary NTP server and an IOS Certificate Authority server.
Does anyone have experience with the 7200 platform as an NTP server using an external GPS time source through the AUX port? I've read that this is a platform-specific capability of the 7200 series and wanted to get some feedback about real-world experience. The two possible locations are in a data center (thick cement walls, tons of possible sources of interference) and on a middle floor of a 70-story skyscraper (in the center of the building). Would any of the compatible GPS receivers be able to get a signal in either location? Are any of the GPS devices better than the rest?
Beyond NTP and CA functionality, what other services would be worth exploring for this router? We're running a traditional (AKA very little above basic configuration of routers) WAN and looking to start using the functionality available in the gear we already have out there. If a 7200 would be a good platform to host some enterprise service other than NTP and CA, I'd love to know how else it could be useful.
Thanks.

I can't get the 7216 multi-room DVR, I have the 6000 series
My old comcast dvr had an out coax outlet that I ran to my TV. I found when watching SD I received a better picture when I switched the TV input to CATV which I assume was using the coax cable opposed to using the component or HDMI cable. I noticed on the Verizon website the 7200 series has the coax out and I spent an hour on the phone trying to get one. Hardly anyone at Verizon knew what I was talking about until I spoke to probably the 5th person. This person was in tech support and was very helpful. He set up a service call for one of their techs to come to my home and swap out the box for me. Well of course when the tech showed up he had no idea what I was talking about, saying as far as he knew the box was unavailable. Honestly I wish I hadn't switched from Comcast, the TV isn't any better and either is the internet.
Any ideas? I said I would just go pick one up like you could do with Comcast but they don't do that.Call 800-483-4000. Ask to add a new HM DVR to your account and return your existing equipment. You will be refered to a store that is equiped to handle your request. The store reps have an extensive knowledge base reguarding equipment and model numbers. They also have the equipment available for you to exchange if needed. You simply need to add new equipment and return the existing you no longer have a need for. Enjoy FIOS!

I already mention the TurboACL feature statement. With ACLs, fewer are faster, and how they ordered (especially without TurboACL) impacts CPU. How you order you class-maps, within a policy, and how the match statements are ordered will also have some impact on the CPU load. If buffers are being allocated/deallocated, that too will impact CPU loading. I assume CEF is enabled, but for some traffic, flow caching might decrease CPU load.Remember a software based router, like the 7200s, are, more or less, a computer that takes your configuration and determines what's to be done with every packet it "sees". The more your configuration requires for per packet analysis, the more load for each packet. There are whitepapers addressing high CPU load caused by "process switching", but what you posted appears to be mostly all interrupt processing, which is "fast path", or optimal, packet forwarding. There's not much you can normally do to improve against that, other than insuring your configuration is as optimal as possible for your needs (again, things like sequencing/ordering of statements).
hi ,
thanks very very much for this nice information,
let me answer you :
you said that NPE G2 has finite capacity , but how to know this full capacity ???
i mean that my policy map is matching the traffic , but the matched traffic is not being enhancemend ??!!!
last about two weeks , the matched traffic of youtube was excellent and no interrupt durting the my rush hour.
i didnt change any thing, but my bw increased from 730 Mbps to 760Mbps ,
im un able to make sure that i need to chnage my platform to faster one.
agian
my cpu is 60 % without QOS
after QOS it increase to 80-85 %
agian ,
about NBAR
i want to tell you that i cant depend on NBAR , as an example , im matching the ips of videos of facebook , i cant depend on NBAR because it is https videos.
but in summary ,
my qos is matching well , but i have no real enhancement for my traffic.
did you face my issue before ???
i mean have you see like my problem ?
like my router platform with cpu over 80 % and 750Mbps , and matched qos without good result ??
note that i upgraded to iso 15 , but seems same issue !!!
regards
