These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 80070BC9, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

Ca fait plusieurs jours que je cherche sur le Net pour résoudre le problème d'installation de Itunes 10 mais en vain...
Lors de l'installation un message d'erreur apparait: " Microsoft.VC80.CRT.typewin32 version=8.050727.6195 publicKeyToken=1fc8b9a1e18e3b"
avec le message "HRESULT: 0x8007054F"
J'ai déjà tous désinstallé, jusqu'au moindre fichier apple dans le répertoir "C" , effacer toute traces de Itune,Bonjour, Quicktime,... puis ensuite utiliser "WINDOWS Installer Cleanup" pour nettoyer en profondeur.
Relancer l'installation mais toujours le même message d'erreur !!!
En forçant l'installation, dès que je lance Itunes, le message d'erreur : "ERREUR 2" apparait et Itunes ne se lance pas.
Aidez-moi SVP merci car là je sèche complètement !
Je suis sous VISTA 32bitsSCAN your computer for possible WIndows system file corruption.
Can you go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
type in
sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer.
Then do the install. -

Vos idées sont quelque chose considérer. Oui, l'iPod a pu avoir beaucoup plus d'options. Mais c'est un joueur de musique et de vidéo. Pour l'obtenir pour faire tout que chacun pourrait vouloir, ralentirait seulement l'iPod et le ferait que beaucoup plus difficile à employer.

I have itunes directory on an external hard drive and want to direct a new installation of itunes on windows 8 to use it. I tried holding down ctrl and clicking itunes and after many tries got it to work one time. When I went back in later it had reverted back to a blank version of itunes and I cant get ctrl to work again. Any other ideas?
This is sometimes caused by a problem with the iTunesPrefs.xml file, normally found at C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml. Try dragging this to the desktop and trying again.
Alternatively the problem may be that you have McAfee AV and it is preventing iTunes from updating the same file and thus causing the problem. See Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml? for details.

i am trying to install itunes 10.5 but I get an error message that says "click ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes.msi..." I try to point iTunes to the .msi file on my c drive but then it gives me a message says "the file location is not a valid installation packaage for the product iTuness. Try to find the installation package 'itunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install iTunes". Any help, insight, guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

How can i remove iTunes 10.1.0.54 saying the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource...enter an alternate path to a folder contaning the installation package 'iTunes.msi'?
< Edited by Host >Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
After trying to run the iTunes automatic update, I got this box on my pc "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes.msi" in the box below.. I ran a search for the file, and entered that into the box, to no avail. Then I launched iTunes and clicked on 'check for updates', and was told I had the latest version 11.0.1 I think it is. So, any clue on what to do? Thanks for any and all help.

I have a new machine with a previous installation of Itunes, linked to another Apple ID. Even I authorized the machine to my Apple ID, I can not connect to the Apple Store. I tried removing Itunes and reinstalling it, but anything changed. I still can not connecto to the Store.
My previous machine has Itunes Installed, and I deauthorized the machine so I unlinked to my Apple ID, if this is correct.
Anyway, Dropbox is also not connecting....so I do not know how to make it woek. please help!I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option? -

Hello. I found that in Windows XP Home Edition that I had two subdirectories of iTunes: C:\Program Files\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes(2). I assume this situation has arisen by me not properly updating iTunes in the past. When it came time to update iTunes from one of the version 10.3s to version 10.4 of iTunes, I tried to do something about the pair of iTunes subdirectories. Via Start, Control Panel, and Add or Remove Programs I "Remove"d the only listing of iTunes; that is iTunes(2) was not listed there. But afterwards C:\Program Files\iTunes(2) still existed, as viewed in the program Windows Explorer. Next while offline I installed iTunes10.4 by running the downloaded file iTunesSetup(4).exe in my case. I chose C:\Program Files\iTunes(2) as the directory for installation. Next I uninstalled iTunes via Add or Revmove Programs. The directory C:\Program Files\iTunes(2) then still existed. I need an iTunes cleanup utility, if there is one, or else a way to eliminate all vestiges of iTunes, including registry entries, from my Windows XP Home Edition. [I think this situation is the opposite of a situation in which the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (WICU) would apply. I think the WICU is useful when a program is visible by name in the Windows Add or Remove Programs list, but can't be removed by clicking on "Remove" in that list.] [I also noticed the directory C:\Program Files\iPod(2). Is that directory associated with iTunes(2)?] After that I would hope that a fresh offline installation of iTunes 10.4 to my computer's hard-disk drive would result in only C:\Program Files\iTunes among iTunes subdirectories in C:\Program Files when viewed in Windows Explorer. I'd also dig down into where your home user account holds temp files, as well as application preferences and support. I just know Vista began using \myaccount\AppData and multiple locations under there.
Apple leaves behind every past installer cache, support (imporant to get rid of that also).
The first thing I do (no iPod etc) is uninstall Bonjour and disable iPod and MobileMe.
Windows Uninstaller Cleanup Utility also use to be a must for stubborn "partially installed" apps.
When you are done, CCleaner and Registry.
Another place to clean is %TEMP% (may be different in XP). -
I have a PC with windows 8.1. My itunes folder is stored on external drive. I haven't used itunes for a while. I got a message to update to itunes 11.3.1. I got error message that "registry settings used by itunes for importing and burning CD's/DVD's has stopped working" I uninstalled itunes and attempted to reinstall. Now i get message" error occurred during installation before itunes could be configured" How do I fix this.

I am trying to install iTunes 12.0 on my Windows 7 PC to sync my iPhone6. I am getting error message, "Item already exists" on installation of iTunes 12.0. Apple has no fix. Help???
Item or object?
For "Object already exists" or "Access denied" errors when installing try opening Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates then checking for Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2918614). Uninstall if you have it, then reboot and try installing again.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
