• Inventory 0IC_C03, issue with historical data (data before Stock initializa

Hi Experts,
Inventory Management implementation we followed as bellow.
Initailization data and delta records data is showing correctly with ECC MB5B data, but historical data (2007 and 2008 till date before initialization) data is not showing correctly (stock on ECC side) but showing only difference Qunatity from Stock initialization data to date of Query.
we have done all the initial setting at BF11, Process keys and filed setup table for BX abd BF datasources, we are not using UM datasource.
1 we loaded BX data and compressed request (without tick mark at "No Marker Update)
2. initialization BF data and compressed request (with tick mark at "No Marker Update)
3 for deltas we are comperessing request on daily (without tick mark at "No Marker Update).
is this correct process
in as you mentioned for BX no need to compress ( should not compress BX request ? )
and do we need to compress delta requets ?
we have issue for historial data validation,
here is the example:
we have initilaized on may 5th 2009.
we have loaded BX data from 2007 (historical data)
for data when we see the data on january 1st 2007, on BI side it is showing value in negative sign.
on ECC it is showing different value.
for example ECC Stock on january 1st 2007 : 1500 KG
stock on Initialization may 5th 2009 : 2200 KG
on BI side it is showing as: - 700 KG
2200 - (-700) = 1500 ,
but on BI side it is not showing as 1500 KG.
(it is showing values in negative with refence to initialization stock)
can you please tell, is this the process is correct, or we did worng in data loading.
in validity table (L table) 2 records are there with SID values 0 and -1, is this correct
thanks in advance.

Hi Anil,
Thanks for your reply.
1. You have performed the initialization on 15th May 2009.
yes
2. For the data after the stock initialization, I believe that you have either performed a full load from BF data source for the data 16th May 2009 onwards or you have not loaded any data after 15th May 2009.
for BF after stock initialization delta data, this compressed with marker update option unchecked.
If this is the case, then I think you need to
1. Load the data on 15th May (from BF data source) separately.
do you mean BF ( Material movements) 15th May data to be compressed with No Marker Update option unchecked. which we do for BX datasource ?
2. Compress it with the No Marker Update option unchecked.
3. Check the report for data on 1st Jan 2007 after this. If this is correct, then all the history data will also be correct.
After this you can perform a full load till date
here till date means May 15 th not included ?
for the data after stock initialization and then start the delta process. The data after the stock initialization(after 15th May 2009) should also be correct.
can you please clarify these doubts?
Thanks

• Inventory Stock Initialization not working

Hello Everyone,
I tried to follow the steps of "Inventory Stock Initialization" in ERP but when I see the quantity and value fields (BWMNG and BWGEO) in RSA3, all the values are zero. Can someone tell me where I am going wrong?
Here are the steps I am following:-
1) Delete the data from Set Up Table
2) Set the Industry Sector
3) Stock Initialization with no selections (pulls around 35 records)
Looking forward for any solutions.
Regards,
Abhishek

Hi,
1) Delete the data from Set Up Table -->Yes
2) Set the Industry Sector -
> Yes
3) Stock Initialization with no selections (pulls around 35 records)
Try to follow the steps..

1.Fix the down time and lock all users at that time.12-03-2009 (from time 12:01:01 onwards).
2.First clear Setuptables,RSA7,SMQ1 in ECC and Cube data in BW.
3.Run MCNB, under DataSource Info tab, select only All Stock Including - non valuated.
4.Load the data to BW.
5.Compress the request *without Check Box*.
6.Delete the setup tables once the BW load complets.
7.Run OLI1BW give the Posting date range From 01-03-2009 to 11-03-2009.
8.Load the data to BW.

12.Load the data to BW.
13.Compress Cube *with Check Box*.
14. Check the BW Data with MB5B Tcode in ECC, it will match.
15.Delete the setup tables once the BW load complets.
*16.So you set Delta Successfully i.e. you complete Init load.*
17.Here I'm assuming that I have data from 2006 Jan to Till Date.
18.I loaded from 01-03-2009 to 11-03-2009, so I need to load Historical data from 01-01-2006 to 28-02-

19."STOP V3 JOB.* don't run till all Historical data is finished.
20. Split the setup tables i.e. 01-01-2009 to 28-02-2009 one load, then load to BW (Full Load) and
compress with Check Box.
21. Repeate step 20 for BX and UM till you reach from date as 01-01-2006. (Each time delete setup
tables and fill).
22. Once you complete the Historical data, then Run V3 job and then load Deltas in BW.

• Subcontracting stock initialize in vendor's place

Dear All,
Right now we are about to golive and for that we already initialize the stocks in the plant and storage location level by MB1C with 561 MT. But I have to initialize the stocks in the vendors place and also create the subcontracting challan for the same.So kindly guide me how to do the same in standard SAP.
Waiting for your earliest response.
Thanks and Regards
AKS

the process overview says create subcontract PO (ME21N) - move goods to subcontractor (MB11) - create Subcontracting Challan (J1IF01) - MIGO - Reconcile Challan (J1IFQ)
As you have to enter the material document that moves the goods from your side to the vendor when creating the challan, then I would says you need to load the data in 2 steps: first you load it into own storage location with 561, and subsequent you do a MB11 transaction with movement type 541 to move the stock from your site to the vendor

• Consignment Stock for Inventory Management

Posting as a new thread...
I have installed and loaded the Inventory Management Cube 0IC_03 in our development and quality systems. During testing we have found just one problem with Consignment Stock. The Stock Initialization (2LIS_03_BX) does not bring in an initial quantity (BWMNG) for any material flagged as a Consignment Stock (Stock Category = K, field BSTTYP).
My question - is there a good reason for this or is this a problem? It causes a problem with reporting, because balances are now off. Do I need to change how reporting is done for Consignment?
It seems to me that the BX extractor should be picking up the initial balance. I am trying to debug the code, but am getting a headache!
Any help would be appreciated!
Yes, I have reviewed the "How To..." documentation, but don't see anything regarding consignment stock.
We are at BW 3.0b Support Pack 25.
Lisa.

Thanks, Ken. I don't know that this note actually helped me, but I did another review of OSS notes. We have applied 3 of them (726485, 756151, 762219) and our consignment issue has been resolved.
Thanks for pointing me back in the right direction!
Lisa.

• Issue with Negative Value for Total valuated stock 0VALSTCKQTY.

Hi Experts,
we loaded the Cube with datasources 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM.
We mapped the quanity field from 2LIS_03_BF in transformation either into Key figures "Quantity issued from valuated stock" (0ISSVALSTCK) or "Quantity received into valuated stock" (0RECVALSTCK ) of the cube.
For obtaining the Total Valuated stock, we used the Key figure 0VALSTCKQTY. This key figure is having the Inflow and Out flow values as 0RECVALSTCK and 0ISSVALSTCK. When i tried to check the content of 0VALSTCKQTY, the key figure 0VALSTCKQTY is not present in the infoCube content. I understood that the value for this key figure would be calculated at the time of query execution with the formula
{ Last obtained Valuated stock + (Received Valuated Stock u2013 Issued Valuated Stock ) }.
The issue is the first records in the query is obtained with negative value for the total valuated stock 0VALSTCKQTY even though the values of Received Valuated Stock and Issued Valuated Stock are with Zero. Could any one please help me on how the first record in the query is with a negative value eventhough the inflow and out flow fields of it are with Zero.
Many Thanks in advance.
Jeswanth

Hi Srini,
I observed an interresting reason for the stock being with negative in the first record.
Issue : While executing the BEx report, we have the first record with a negative value.
Let me explain with an example
Material : XYZ
Plant : A
Date of Stock Initialization for data source 2LIS_03_BX -
> 12th April 2009.
So on 12 Th April 2009 consider that we have a stock in store with a value of 2640.
Then we have loaded wih Data source 2LIS_03_BF for all Historic Movement types.
At the time of query execution we will have the first record with a negative of available stock present on the day of initialization .
So, as we have initilized the data source 2LIS_03_BX on 12 th April 2009, we have at that time a stock of 2640 in availability.
Exactly with the same value of 2640, we are having a negative value i.e. -2640.
and also one more point to be noted is ...as we have initialized the data source 2LIS_03_BX on 12 th APril 2009...it has created a
opening balance of 2640 on the day of initiailization i.e on 12 th April 2009 in infocube....(which is an extra record...)...so if the previous record of 12,04,2009 is having some value in it..then it will get added to 2640 EA..which will give incorrect stock
So in the query the records will appear in the below following manner
Calendar Day Total stock Received stock Issued Stock
28.12.2005 --->  - 2640 EA
29.12.2005 --->    2000 EA                                                                       640 EA                                                        0
10.04.2009 --->      0                                                                                0                                                               2000 EA
11.04.2009 -
> 0 0 0
(For making
the earlier record of initilization to 0 a negative value -2640 EA is created in the first record )
12.04.2009 (Initializtion day) --->  2640 EA                                                 0                                                                0
13.04.2009
the day before initialization the total stock will be 0 due to the negative effect introduced by the first record and from the day of initialization the records will be the accurate values... On 12 th april 2009 we can see that a stock of 2640 is brought into the total stock. In fact if there is no negative value i.e. -2640 in the first record then ...the value on 11.04.2009 will be 2640 Ea and this will get summed up with the Opening balance of 2640 EA created by 2LIS_03_BX on the day of intitialization. So on 12 .04. 2009 the total stock will be shown as 5280 EA...so in order to prevent the double value only we observed that the first record is created with the negative of available stock present on the initialization ...to make the record before the day of initialization i.e. 11.04.2009...to be 0...so that from 12 th April 2009 ..will start to see the actual total stock in the query result...
This is happening only if we use both the data sources 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF for loading into BW.....
If we load alone by 2LIS_03_BF ...then as 2LIS_03_BX is ruled out in the loading...then no negative of available stock will be created ...because there will be bno opening balance created on the day of initialization.....and the opeing balance available will be flowing into consecutive records due to the movement types and 12 th April 2009 will be shown with avaialable total stock of 2640 EA.
Kindly let us know your opinions on this...
Thanks.
regards,
Jeswanth

• After inital stock load in 0ic_c03 infocube "seems" empty

Hi everybody,
I carried out the steps in the document How to handle inventory management scenarios in BW ... to load data in 0IC_C03 infocube
to keep things simple I only setup table MC03BX0SETUP ...
i performed the following steps:
1) initialization of current stock in r3
exec tc MCNB
2) then check when tc RSA3 the structure 2LIS_03_BX which shows 66378 records
3)Upload data to the infocube (selection "create opening balance" radio button ). The monitor showed 66378 records
4) Compressed the request (the check box "no marker update" was blank)
5) then went to tc RSA1 and select the infocube 0IC_C03 -> right click -> manage ->and check the contents of the infocube. in the selection screen no selections were made and execute, but no data was shown. Why I can't see any data
thanks for any help with this
rgds
Azael

According to the aforementioned document, page 14, "when historical material movents are not required" step for loading statistical data isn't needed, only a delta initialization with no data is requiered which I already did.
What I d'ont understand is why I can't se any rows of the infocube.
As I understand, after loading stock initialization (2lis_03_bx), compressing this request and initialized delta without data transfer (2LIS_03_BF), data with the stock figures at the moment of creating the oppening balance in R3 must be shown in the infocube, is it right?
Is it correct that historical data is only required if I need stock figures in past? for example I run MCNB at 10.05.2006 and I'am intereisting in what the stock was at 01.05.2006, if I do'n need that past sate I don't need to load 2LIS_03_BF, only delta initialization without data transfer is rquired, right?
sorry for the long text, but I only want to make sure I understand the process
thanks

• 0IC_C03 Inventory stock- Please help

Dear all.
We have compressed the cube 0IC_C03 with the "No Marker Update" option selected. Now we found out that our stock reports are not working fine any more.
we are not sure if running the compresion with this tick is the one causing the issue. Is it a problem to do it so when our reports use the non-agregated keyfigures?
Is there any way to reset the Mark up so that it is reacalculated based on the new situation (compressed requests) of the cube.
I would appreciate any answer since our users are not able to report correct figures any more.
Thanks a lot in advance for any help.
Best regards,
Alfonso.

Dear All.
Thanks a lot to all for your answers, unfortunatelly noone gave me the answer I was waiting for, i guess because it is not available. I was expecting that SAP would have provided a program to fix this can of issues by allowing to recalculate fully the reference tabel based on some selections or criteria. Unfortunatelly looks like this is not the case (as always SAP providing great service).
For future reference of anyone, our final decision is to make a copy of the original cube, move all data to the new cube and compress there, and then delte the old cube. This is easelly done, thecnically no issues, the only problem you might find is that you have all your queires over the cube (they can also be easelly copied), not our case since we use multicube.
Other porposals i got were:
1.- Delete cube and reload all PSA (not realistic, more than 1700 request currently in the cube
2.- Reload from R/3. Rediculous, it would require downtime and huge amount of time to reload
3.- compres the rest of the request with "NO update marker" settin on, and then load stock initialization with BX . Possibel solution but will require downtime from R/3 again, we donñt use up to know BX so it will require additional develoment and testing.
Best regards,
Alfonso Gonzalez.

• Excise stock registers initiallization procedure after stock upload

Dear Gurus,
I am currently facing a SAP Excise Duty issue when trying to get in the "actual closing stock" column of the inventory settlement report (TCODE /BEV2/EDIS) the quantity of stock contained within material documents generated during stock initalization (using Mvt 561).
As stock settlement report seems only to consider ED material documents assigned to a stock ledger number (/BEV2/EDMSE-YHLGBUCH <> ''), I tryed to integrate movements assigning MM Movement 561 to ED Movement Category 001 (both movement categories to 597 and 460 are not assigning any stock ledger number to the ED material document once integrated within the ED stock registers). Unfortunately "actual closing stock" column remained empty even after having executed the update fixed stock transaction.
Here is the procedure I followed :
- Closed previous ED months and exercises
- Updated Fixed Stocks until the previous month of stock initialization
- Uploaded MM stock (mvt 561) and integrated corresponding movement within ED stock register
- Closed month of stock initalization
- Updated Fixed Stocks (warning message no. /BEV2/EDMESS1462 not created correctly appears but disappears after executing twice the transaction and no configuration error was returned by /BEV2/EDP2 report)
here are the values otbained using /BEV2/EDIS:
OPENING STOCK : EMPTY
TOTAL RECEIPTS : INIT QTY
OP. STOCK + RECEIPTS : INIT QTY
TARGET STOCK : INIT QTY
ACTUAL CLOSING STOCK : EMPTY
DIFFERENCE : 100%
here are the values I am expecting :
OPENING STOCK : EMPTY
TOTAL RECEIPTS : EMPTY
OP. STOCK + RECEIPTS : INIT QTY
TARGET STOCK : INIT QTY
ACTUAL CLOSING STOCK : INIT QTY
DIFFERENCE : 0%
After having a look to /BEV2/EDFIXSTOCK table it appeared that it was empty for the ED type that has been initalized.
Thanks in advance for any advise that either would help me or explain the /BEV2/EDFIXSTOCK containt.

depends on your selection and this:
SAP determines the next cycle count date based on the last inventory date (that you dont have) and the indicators, or if based on the accounting view creation date and the indicator setup.
You have to update (with an own ABAP) the last physical inventory date (using different dates) to get the counts spread out all over the year

• Error: Displaying Total stock quantity captured in Delta

Hi,
I am facing a problem, in displaying "Total stock qty" in Bex query. If I display qty Date wise, it should show me "Last value" for the current day (if there is no transaction for a Plant material combination).
I try to elaborate more my issue -
(1) Did stock Initialization in R3 ( on 29 Jan 08), with zero stock transfered ticked.
(2) Filled setup table for 03.
(3) Loaded BX with "Marker update".
(4) Did INIT without "Marker update".
(5) Did Delta with "Marker update". Latest delta is on 30 th Jan.
(6) Executed bex query.
There are few Plant Material combinations, for which I get "Total stock qty" value only till 29 Jan 08.
I am using this Bex query as Snap-shot purpose. It should show me value till the current date.
If there is no transaction for any Plant Material combo, it should show me the Last value.
Please help.

Is the delivery document being flagged for deletion or is it physically being deleted?
If the document is being flagged for deletion, then your stating about how the process should work for extraction of the document into BW is correct. However, if the document is being phyically deleted from the database, R3/ECC doesn't have any way to identify that this has occurred and therefore won't provide the record with the deletion flag.
For phyically deleted documents, there are only a few options available for capturing this:
1) Re-load everything from a Full Repair extraction.
2) Create a process that can validate if the document on BW exists still in the R3/ECC environment.

• Error during loading of initialization data for 0ic_c03

Hi
I am setting up the inventory cube 0IC_C03 for stock reports. I am following the document How to Scenarios for inventory management.
I have made the necessary preperations in the R/3 side. The setup tables have been populated and the data is visible using rsa3.
Now in BW i have created infopackages for the 3 data sources 2LIS_03_BX / BF / UM.
For 2LIS_03_BX the update status is generate initial status
For 2LIS_03_BF the update status is initialize delta process
For 2LIS_03_UM the update status is initialize delta process
I am now trying to upload the data for stock initialization by scheduling the 2LIS_03_BX infopackage for an immediate pull. However in the manage are there are no records being transferred (0 of 0 records) and the status of the request is yellow.
Is there some interim step that i am perhaps missing?
Regards

Hi AHP / Aby
The update was going on for an elongated period of time so I set the QM status to red and have restarted the data pull. This time the data did come to the BW system but still showed an error.

>>>>>>>> record 1965 : value of characteristic 0batch contains invalid number
>Processing End : Errors occured
>> Error 4 in the update
According to my understanding of the situation there is a data error in the record 1965 in the second package. Is it possible / advisable to go an edit this in the PSA? If not then what is the procedure to be adopted. Since this is an initiallization and not a delta update i am not sure whether i should pull this again!
Thanks in advance and for all the help so far! its really appreciated!

• 0AFMM_C02 Infocube - which is right Initialization datasource

Hi,
We are planning to use infocube 0AFMM_C02 but want to know which initialization datasource has to use for this infocube.
There are two initialization datasources one is 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION. Among these two which datasouce is correct to use for the infocube 0AFMM_C02?.
If I have to use datasource 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION as specified in help.sap in the below link i have to fill setup table by going to SBIW in Customizing: Business Information Warehouse ® Settings for Application-Specific DataSources ® Logistics ® Settings: Inventory Controlling ® Stock initialization. Here which transfer structure i need to select because 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION datasouce is not showing as transfer structure there eventhough it is activated.

• Stock init - load time?

Hello all,
How long should it take to perform a stock init load (2LIS_03_BX)? I only ran MCNB (stock init) for 5 plants, but the job has now been running for 30 minutes (I also load non-valuated stock, however not stock with zero value)..
Why is it taking so long and how long does it usually take?
Best regards,
Fredrik

hi Fredrik,
check if helps oss note 728360-PLUG: Performance of stock initialization
Symptom
You want to use transaction MCNB (RMCBINIT_BW program) to perform a stock initialization. You experience very long runtimes.
Other terms
MCNB, RMCBINIT_BW, 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_40_S278
Reason and Prerequisites
Very long runtimes occur when you execute transaction MCNB (RMCBINIT_BW program) to perform a stock initialization.
The reasons for this are quite varied:
Datasets
Transaction handling
Unnecessary data enhancements
Zero stock selected
This note provides some recommendations for performing a stock initialization.
Solution
1. Datasets and transaction handling
Of course, the runtime of the transaction increases if very large datasets have to be processed. It therefore does not make sense to start the transaction for the complete dataset.
Depending on the data constellation, the data should be restricted on the input screen of the transaction. We recommend that you start the transaction separately for each plant. However, this recommendation cannot be considered to be universally valid because different SAP customers may also have very different data constellations.
For example, the system may have a large number of plants but a small number of materials or a large number of materials but a small number of plants. We therefore recommend that you check the performance of the stock initialization beforehand, using different selection variants.
1. Unnecessary data enhancements
If, in addition to BW, you are still using the Retail Information System (RIS), you generally have to activate the RIS-specific data enhancement for material documents. However, this is not necessary for the stock initialization for BW. We therefore recommend that you deactivate exactly this enhancement in the Customizing during stock initialization.
This can be executed using transaction MCH_ in which the indicator for enhancing the goods movements is deactivated. After you complete stock initialization, you should reactivate this indicator to ensure a correct update of the RIS.
If, in any event, the RIS should not be used, we recommend that you use MCH_ to deactivate the complete RIS enhancement.
1. Zero stock selected
We recommend that you do not use the indicator for considering zero stock in transaction MCNB since this greatly increases the runtime. For more information, see note 655798.
CAUTION: Important additional information: As of note 823951, you no longer have to use this option.

• Valuation of stock

Hi all,
we have a cube where the stock levels are loaded, using the 2LIS_03_BF extractor.
Till now, the stock levels have been valuated with the standard cost valid at the time of loading. In fact, during extraction we get (in enhancement) the R/3 field MBEW-STPRS.
Now we need to give the stock value at an arbitrary
date chosen by the user. Basically we need to use the standard cost valid at that date of analisis.
Do you have any idea how we could implement this scenario?
Cheers, Davide

Hi David,
Well 2LIS_03_BX is used for stock initialization.
To say it as every company has a particular value,
form where it initializes its stock holdings.
In some of the cases this init. value is zero.in
such a case the values would match.I think similar is the case with you.
but in other cases where it is not zero it would give an error.
Regarding not implementing BX data source would be a
serious error .
I hope you have gone through the document i had refered
last time.
Anyways go through it.It would clear all your doubts as to what is the purpose of each of these data sources.

Sidharth
