Error 0x00022838 with MS Office 2008

I have an error with MS Office 2008.  Anytime I try to run any MS Office program it starts to open then gives me the Encountered error and needs to shut down message.  The error code is 0x00022838.  I have a Macbook 4.1.  My OS is 10.5.8 and SU states its up to date.  I have 1GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM.  I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz processor. Any help would be appreciated to get these running again.
Thanks,
Metal

  • Problems with Microsoft Office 2008 and 2011

    Hiya,
I am running Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro and I'm having ongoing problems with the Office system. I'm doing a PhD so I use footnotes all the time and in Word 2011, the autosave function makes the footnotes disappear from the bottom of the page, but I'm not comfortbale working wihtout autosave running. I deleted Office 2011 and put Office 2008 back on my machine. However, since I re-installed Office 2008, the whole OSX seems to have slowed down.
Could Office 2008 cause my whole system to get sluggish? Is there anything that I can do about it?
I am also wondering if there is there another solution to my original Office 2011 problem with footnotes that doesn;t involve disabling autosave? Has anyone else has similar problems with footnotes? I just wiped my whole system and re-installed all the programmes, so I am surprised to still be having these same problems with Office!
Thank you for any help and advice!

  • HT2476 I recently upgraded to OS X Mavericks and now I cannot open any of my Microsoft apps. Is Mavericks not compatible with Microsoft Office 2008? If not, how do I revert back to Mountain Lion?

I recently updated my Macbook Pro to OS X Mavericks and now I cannot access any of my Microsoft Office apps. Is Mavericks not compatible with Microsoft Office? If not, how do I revert?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Office 2008 and 2011 are compatible with OS X Mavericks.
If you are using Office 2008, I highly recommend you to reinstall the latest Office 2008 update > http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36897 Note that Office 2008 is not supported by Microsoft anymore

  • After migration to new iMac - problems with Microsoft office 2008 using multiple users

I migrated my data from my old Imac to my new Imac.  On the new Imac I created multiple logins for my kids.  My microsoft office 2008 programs will not open.  I keep getting the "Customer Experience Improvement Program" screen which cycles through, checks for update then closes never allowowing me to access the program.  Please help!!

Reference your first post - I download and use dmg files, so either I'm lucky or they are supported.
I would try the disk reinstall since at this point there doesn't seem to be many options.
Do you have a backup? You could restore the Microsoft Office 2008 folder.

  • Issue with new Office 2008 and Leopard

I recently installed Office for Mac 2008 on a new MacBook Pro. Once it was installed, when I launched the program (like Excel or Word) on the application launching screen (where it comes up showing which program you opened and the product key and the name of the registered user) it showed my full administrator password for the MacBook. Then when I went to look at the document properties for the application, under 'company name' is showed my adminstrator password. Not necessarily good when you send files to clients, friends, etc.
I uninstalled Office 2008, changed my admin password, then reinstalled Office. Same thing happened, except it was still my old original MacBook admin password. Obviously, it did not uninstall the entire program.
Does anyone know how I can correct this so it will not show my MacBook admin password everytime I launch one of the Office applications?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!!
I recently installed Office 2008 on a Leopard Macbook, and don't have these issues. The launch screen shows my name and the registration code only, and the document properties show only my name.
All I can suggest is you go to MicroSoft's Mactopia pages, and access their forums from there.

  • Error -4110 with MS Office Report VI

I am trying to use the MS Office Report VI to open an Excel template that has two worksheets and then write information to named ranges on the two worksheets.  The VI works with no error when writing information to only the first work sheet but it I try to write to the 2nd worksheets an error -41110 occurs. Is this normal?
I am using LabVIEW 7.1, Report Generation Toolkit 1.1.1 and Excel 2000.

    Hi Joch,
Well, I've always been a big fan of workarounds. I love a challenge! So here's one for you that should allow you to continue using the Express VI.
If you can only use named ranges from the first page, why not selectively make whichever page you currently hope to edit the first page! This will mean that you can only insert values into your template Excel file one page at a time, but that's not too bad I suppose.
So I wrote a small subVI that will use ActiveX to programmatically make a sheet of your choice (1,2, 3, etc) the first page, then saves and closes the workbook. Let me know if this helps!

  • File links / drag and drop no longer work with MS Office 2008

not sure what happened, but my installed and up to date version of MS Office suddenly refuses to accept file open events. Cannot double click on files anymore, nor can I drop files into the MS icons in the dock. The only way to open files is now using the "open" command from inside the application.
This error seems to be global on my system, across multiple user personalities, and doesn't go away with a restart.
Anyone have an idea what could be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Michael

Do a "get info" on one of these files.
About the middle of the info box is a pull down menu labeled "open with".
Pick your office app and then check the box labeled " change all".
Now double click on the type of file that pertains to the app you choose.
If this does work, do the same for one file each of the office apps.

  • Error -41110 with MS Office Report vi

I'm trying to use the MS Office Report express vi, and when I use an excel template with named ranges on more than one sheet I get the error "Error -41110 occurred at ex_RGT_Append Anything to Report.vi"..."Possible reasons: You specified invalid Word bookmarks or Excel named ranges."  I know that the names I used are acceptible by excel, (data, high_limits, low_limits) and they work fine when on the same sheet, but I want them to be sent to separate sheets.  How do I get around this error or is it a limitation with this vi?

    I found a workaround:
I modified Excel_Get_Range vi in the framework libraries and added a loop to iterate through the other worksheets of the workbook until I find the named range.
Well, I guess that hacking in framework VI's is not a solution that NI would recommend (and for good reasons).
I nonetheless posted the modified VI in case someone would be curious about it.

  • Started having error 0x887df78e with HP Office Jet networked printer. Seem to be related to Itunes

I recently started having my networked HP Office Jet printer begin flashing lights and displaying error code 0x887df78e. It seems to be related to the use of ITunes. The only information from HP is to remove the print cartriges, keep unplugging the printer and plugging it in several times and then hit a combination of keys on the key pad. This does not seem to work. Any clues? It appears I am not the only one who sees a link withthis phenom and ITunes.

Try unistalling Itunes and reinstall without the option for automatic updates on the Apple download site. reinstall printer software.
