Error 0x8002006E Mountain Lion - fixed?

This error has quite the history and many threads.....
In case this might be of any help out there, I was getting this on an i7 MBP machine that had Parallels/Windows installed on it, later removed.
User account would throw this error after trying to burn a DVD (using Sony discs). Top speed shown was 8x. Burning at 4x produced same error and failure.
After creating and logging into a new admin account and trashing user/library/preferences/com.apple.finder.plist for good measure (instantly regenerated), optical drive's top speed was shown as 24x and it burned a DVD at that speed without a hitch. Seems to be related to prior Windows install and doesn't mean drive has failed.

I am running Mountain Lion on Mac Pro (early 2009) and the Audio MIDI Setup does not allow more than 24/96 for both Toslink and USB to my DAC - but it may be different on your machine.

  • Mountain Lion Fixed 24/192 digital out or still 24/96?

Seems running Windows on a Mac the chip set puts out 24/192 audio. If that is true, has Mountain Lion "fixed" this issue? If the hardware is capable of 24/192, why handicap it ?! Anyone with information on Mac digital audio output with Mountain Lion? Thanks in advance. Actually running 10.7.4, not 10.6.8...update profile needed...

  • Error with Mountain Lion Download on the App Store

Hi there, I've come across an error which I've been unable to solve and have not found similar instances/references on the forums: I bought Mountain Lion and started downloading. I have several laptops, so I also started downloading on my main laptop. In the mean time, the first download was very slow and had 9 hours to go. The second laptop, started later, had 30 mins to go. I realized the first one was connected to my slower home wi fi (I have two), so I interrupted the download  and tried to re-download it once I connected to the fast wi-fi. When I tried to press download again, I had an error. Next to that error, a "X" (for cancel) came up.
Then, the oddest thing happened and Mountain Lion was removed from my purchases!
After that, I went back into purchases and when I clicked "buy" it just said "You've already purchased this, click here to download". When I did that, I got this screen. Now, nothing happens. I just get stuck here.
I've installed Mountain Lion on the other laptop (the second one) and it seems to be working fine.
I looked online and there was a supposed fix: to download a Lion Combo 10.7.4. I did, but when I tried to instal it, it just said that it requires a version of Lion 10.7.3. or earlier... I have 10.7.4, so this did not work.
    Any help?
    Many thanks!!!

  • S.M.A.R.T. error and Mountain Lion will not install

I downloaded Mountain Lion so I could use the iCloud with my iTunes for other devices and it says that there is a S.M.A.R.T. error on my hard drive and it cannot be installed.  What can I do to fix this?

Hi, I too had the exact same thing happen.  I called support on the phone and they suggested I bring my computer into the store.  I took it in and the employee determined that the hard drive was failing and I was the third person that day with the same issue.  Luckily, it is under warranty but they had to replace the hard drive.  I still haven't gotten my computer back because they didn't have the parts.  My advice - BACK UP NOW!

  • "XNetwork.osax declares no loadable handlers" error in Mountain Lion?

I'm attempting to make a simple bash osascript to communicate with the user of a 2012 Mac Mini running Mountain Lion 10.8.4.
This is what I have so far:
    #!/bin/bash
    printf "> "
    read USER_TEXT
    /usr/bin/osascript << EOF
set user_text to do shell script "echo '$USER_TEXT'"
    tell app "System Events"
    activate
display dialog user_text default answer "Type here."
    end tell
    EOF
It works quite cleanly on older machine running Snow Leopard. While it does technically work on my newer Mac, it does so at the expense of several lines in the terminal.
    This is the result:
    Davids-Mac-mini:~ davidlones$ ~/message
    > This is a test message.
    2013-07-23 04:30:20.932 osascript[55692:707] Error loading /Users/davidlones/Library/ScriptingAdditions/XNetwork.osax/Contents/MacOS/XNetwork:  dlopen(/Users/davidlones/Library/ScriptingAdditions/XNetwork.osax/Contents/MacOS/XNetwork, 262): no suitable image found.  Did find:

osascript: OpenScripting.framework - scripting addition "/Users/davidlones/Library/ScriptingAdditions/XNetwork.osax" declares no loadable handlers.
text returned:I have recieved the message., button returned:OK
What is this error and how do I fix it?
On a rare occasion, it also returns an error from System Events telling me that "the application is not running." How can "System Events" not be running??? Of course, that may have just been a fluke, but for some reason this otherwise relatively simple terminal app of mine doesn't work properly. What am I doing wrong?

Well, thank you. This does effectivly hide the error...
    #!/bin/bash
    printf "> "
    read USER_TEXT
    /usr/bin/osascript << EOF 2> /dev/null
set user_text to do shell script "echo '$USER_TEXT'"
    tell app "System Events"
    activate
display dialog user_text default answer "Type here."
    end tell
    EOF
Now I'll be contacting the XNetwork people to see what the problem was.
    Thanks again.

  • HT5473 Java Runtime error on Mountain Lion

I have been reading the forum on the Java problems with Mountain Lion, but none of the proposed fixes are taking care of my issues.  I have the latest version of Java installed from Oracle and have the fix posted on the Apple website installed for the Java SE 6 runtime error I was seeing.  I no longer see the runtime error, but programs continue to say that they don't detect Java on my computer.  I feel I'm close to resolving this issue, but am obviously still missing a step.  Any help?

I just tried this (I was simply trying to verify whether my removal of Java 7 worked :-):
I opened a Terminal and just typed "java".  Mac OSX knew that there was no JRE installed and offered to install one.  I agreed.  When I did a "java -version" from the terminal after the install was complete, I found that it had installed 1.6u33:
    dhcp-110-03:~ twolf$ java -version
    java version "1.6.0_33"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_33-b03-424-11M3720)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.8-b03-424, mixed mode)
You might want to give that a try.  It was 16:00 US Eastern time when I did this.  Good luck.

    Tom,
Thanks for the suggestion. Glad to hear some progress is being made by someone! Sadly though, this did not work for me; I got the same error as before. Sticking with it.

  • Sparsebundle in use, error codes, Mountain Lion problems!

Ok ,Apple has another bad experience on its list. So called" smooth upgrade" to Mountain Lion, clearly breaks automated back up on Time Machine. I have rebooted, and still no sustained back up. What a farce. Apple is becoming the old Microsoft.. upgrades and breaking stuff... I am VERY disappointed... what is a formal Apple answer on this. Anyone left in Cupertino , who is not working in iOs , and actually cares about Mountain Lion actually supporting stuff their store sold me ? Tim Cook, you should now be allowing this. Stock price high, customer sat with Mountain Lion- low ?

I have had the same issue.
Nothing on Pondini's C17 has worked for me.
Toggling the "enable file sharing" box and rebooting CPU & Time Capsule worked...for about 2-3 days. Then I get the same error. I gave been putting up with this for over a month. I have been to just about every forum that relates to the "sparsebundle already in use" error and no fix has worked for more than 48-72 hours.
Lion and Mt. Lion correlate with a lot of new issues for me. Getting desperate for some help.

  • Will reinstalling mountain lion fix image retention

After installing mavericks i started getting image retention so i was wondering if reinstalling mountain lion will fix my problem.

It's unlikely that has a thing to do with OS version. But it you wish to reinstall Mountain Lion:
    Erase the drive.
Reinstall Mountain Lion from a backup.
Since your computer can run Mavericks you will no longer be able to re-download Mountain Lion. However, if Mountain Lion was pre-installed on your computer, then you may be able to reinstall it by going through an Internet Recovery:
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
This may restore the version of OS X originally pre-installed on the computer.

  • Error downloading Mountain Lion, impossible to restart [SOLVED]

I just wanted to drop an issue that I had.
I have a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro, that was covered by the free upgrade to Mountain Lion program. I received a correct coupon code, but while downloading, there was an internet problem. After, it was impossible to restart the download or erase any data.
The OS X Mountain Lion item in the App Store inside Purchased, was locked, with a black button and a red alert.
To fix the problem all I had to do is:
Log off from the app store
Delete every file in ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.apple.appstore.savedState/
Run App Store.app, and inside App Store
    Log in again
Purchase again Mountain Lion, it will say that it's free (it has been previously purchased).
After that it will run again.
    Hoping to be useful

Try brining your MAC up in safe mode, download Mountain Lion, then restart your computer and install.  Should work fine.

  • ERROR DOWNLOADING MOUNTAIN LION (100)

    Can't download Mountain Lion?

OK, here is how to fix the issue if you are using Intego Virus Barrier X6
    1. Disable "Ad Banner Filter" under "Surf" in X6
    2. Shut down your mac
    3. Restart into Safe Mode (holding Shift key until it fully starts up)
    4. Check date & time, make sure auto adjust time & location are both selected, then restart your Mac
    5. Once restarted, try to purchase Mountain Lion
This solution worked for me and did not require the need to uninstall X6, but make sure that you have the newest X6 update for Mountain Lion compatibility before you try to install OS X 10.8.
Once you have downloaded and installed ML, you should be able to turn the Ad Banner Filter back on.

  • Canon iR5050 Job Accounting Error on Mountain Lion - PAHU HELP!

    Hi --
I specifically mentioned the user PAHU because he seems to have all the answers when it comes to this stuff.
I am the lone Mac user using our networked Canon ImageRunner 5050.  The printer uses Job Accounting.  I have an ID and password, and I even created a second ID and password to test.
BEFORE installing Mountain Lion, I would get a dialog box every time I printed that forced me to type in the ID/Password for the printer.  It worked just fine for years.
AFTER installing Mountain Lion, the printer started to freak out.  My department ID is, let's say, 299.  The dialog box would pop up and I'd enter the ID number as always.  However, it would then print 299 copies of whatever it was I was printing.
So, I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it with the newest driver from Canon (which says on the website is UFRII 2.42; however, my Printer Prefs just says "2.0" - see attached image.)
Now that I have the "new" driver, I don't ever get a dialog box.  Instead, it always comes up with error # 15513 and says "Incorrect ID or Password.  Specify the correct ID and Password.: 15513"
I have used the Printer Utility and have put in every combination of ID/password I could think of -- including, as I said above, a brand new ID and password I created on the printer itself.
I work on a large University campus and no one knows what to do.  Tech support told me to call the printer contractor.  The printer contractor told me to call the other tech support.  The other tech support told me to call the first tech support.  I even spent a few hours trying to retrieve my "old" drivers in Time Machine because I was willing to get 300 copies of whatever I wanted to print out.
Does anyone have ANY clue what else I can do?
    Thank you.

The new UFR2 driver for Mountain Lion functions differently to the previous versions. With regards to Dept ID (Job Accounting), you no longer have the option to get a pop-up. I don't know why Canon has changed this but they have and you therefore have to change your workflow.
So, with the new driver installed (and you have to use this new version on Mtn Lion) you need to open the Printer Utility to enable Dept ID Management. Otherwise you get the errors you mention. Open Print & Scan and select the iR5050 printer. Then press Options & Supplies followed by Utility and then Open Printer Utility. This will open the Canon UFRII Printer Utility and have a section where you can enable Dept ID and set your ID and password. There is also a Verify button that will let you check that the ID is correct and does communicate with the printer. With the ID/pwd set you can then press Save Settings and quit the utility (you have to click on Canon UFRII Printer Utility in the menubar and select Quit - or use Command Q).
With the Dept ID set in the utility you can now open a document and select to print to the iR5050. If you change the print dialog menu to Special Features, you should now see that Dept ID is enabled and you should be able to print and get a document out of the iR without the previous error.
With regards to using a different ID than that set in the UFRII Utility, you can change the ID via the Special Features menu of the driver. This new ID will be used for that job, and when you print it again, the default will be use unless you open Special Features and set another ID to print with.
Hope this helps you. Reply if you need more assistance.
