Error 0xc00000f required device is inaccessible. Windows 7 wont complete reinstall

I have an HP Pavillion dv7 Notebook with AMD Turion dual core proccesor and 500GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive; I was using it and let the battery deplete and at 7% it went into its power saving mode, so I just left it and a couple hours later plugged in the batter and turned it back on and I got a BSOD and then this error came up on a black screen.
"wINDOWS FAILED TO START. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT BE THE CAUSE"

since then I have done all I can think to do, I am somewhat savvy with computers but get lost on some of the lingo. Heres what I have done
I have a windows upgrade disk to Windows 7 home premium 64 bit (which is what I had on the computer) I have run the startup repair, failed. I have opened the command prompt and completed all the bootrec.exe steps. I have tried to reinstall windows 7 completely from both a usb drive and the upgrade disk (when I use the usb it tells me no drivers were found so I don't get very far at all) I got to the part with the partitions and deleted both the primary and recovery (had 100mb storage) and then I hit next and it stays at Copying Windows Files 0% until I get an error (cant recall the exact error) hit ok and try again and still same thing. When I go into bios (which people say to see if it detects the hard drive, my bios has no option for that, it has a Hard Disk Self Test that fails every time and also a memory test that passes. But thats it. At the top it says InsydeH20 Setup Utility.
So now I do not know what else to do.
Is my hard drive shot? Did it get overheated and now is broken, I can't even reinstall windows....

As you did mention the Hard drive test has failed you need to replace the Hard drive then reinstall the operating system back on the unit. Only then the unit will work fine Please call HP Technical support check for the Warranty of the unit and get the part replaced.

Please let me know what can be done. I think it's battery issue because it says battery problem but even if I remove the battery it's not going to windows home screen. I grasp that when you start your notebook you are seeing " The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible"
Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Resolve Boot Device Not Found Error Message (Windows 8, 7). As you have already tested the hard drive and memory you can omit that step.
If a recovery should be required, you will have an opportunity to backup your personal files to prevent data loss during that process. The link for the recovery process is in the document provided.

Windows 7 won't boot (required device is inaccessible)

I accidentally interrupted a "back-up to a previous date" and now can't get Window 7 64 bit to boot. Tried recovery dvd but no go.
Please help!

A Major problem I've occurred in the past was just getting Windows (XP/ME/98), etc. to go back onto the drive after a former operating system was in place. I've solved the problem in the past by using the manufacturer's diskette or CD (you can download
it from their websites and burn it to a CD/disc/disk/flashdrive). Western Digital (which uses Data Lifeguard Diagnostics in DOWNLOADS/Seagate and others which has diagnostic software free from their site) and has a "bootable" solution
set of files within that when booted to LOW-LEVEL format (that is, buring "0"'s and "1"'s to the drive, hence erasing everything down to the core level, whereas it's destructive to even remove hidden and boot-level info back to the condition when the drive
was first created, pristine state).
After it low-level formats, one can either high-level (format) it, or run Windows on CD, etc. to install Windows back. The premise was that one can place a specific operating system on the former condition drive and by installing a different one (ex.
32bit to 54 bit, or in 98, etc, difference operation layers which tend to cause changes/upgrades going forward to fail.
This has worked for me on numerous occasions and I was able to put any Windows (provided it's supported by the BIOS or operating system met the system requirements (RAM, etc).
Always good to know.

I tried to shrank drive c and changed the file system by force. After that following message showed up.
“The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible“ error code 0xc000000f.
when you press F11 nothing happens. When I rearrange boot order, still does not work.
Same screen comes again and again.
Even when I insert recovery media in same message comes in.
I am able to use internet through HP quick web when I enable HP quick web in boot order.
Any ideas guys how this can be fixed????

then type Startrep.exe to launch a quick automated startup repair utility which corrects boot environment values. This step may require more than one attempt and should be repeated a couple of times if the first repair fails.
If step 3 fails, open the command prompt and type bcdedit This
will display the values for Windows Boot Manager.
Review the values for Device. Is it set to unknown, as shown below? If so, proceed to step 7.
At the command prompt, type the following commands (c: is the default system partition. If your original partition was another drive letter, this value can be set to that drive letter):
bcdedit
/set {DEFAULT.EN_US} device partition=c:
(press enter)
bcdedit
/set {DEFAULT.EN_US} osdevice partition=c:
(press enter)
bcdedit
/set {BOOTMGR.EN_US} device partition=c:
(press enter)
Reboot the system after removing the OS disk.

I need some help fast please. I recently booted up my gaming rig after swapping out a 7970 graphics card and upon system boot up, as the windows 7 logo appeared the system crashes and a BSOD appears for a split millisecond and I'm asked to start up repair windows
or start windows normally however when I click start up repair a black error screen appears with the following message and error: The boot selection failed because a device is inaccessible error state and an error code:0xc000000e. Now of fixed this before
multiple times except this instance nothing seems to work Ive tried the following:
- check for any unplugged or loose cables
- Re installed my ram
- Booted with on board graphics
- unplugged all usb devices and external devices with the exception of the keyboard and mouse
- Booted with system installation disc and attempted system repair several times only with the same outcome of wanting to restore from a previous system restoration point however it always fails
- changed the boot type to IDE which made the system boot furhter past the logo screen however it still crashes with the same error
- From the system installation disc I ran a chkdsk /f and no corruptions or bad sectors were found
However, I did run from the installation disc a "bcdedit" and my osdevice was unkown and my boot manager and boot loader were set to two different drives on being D: and the other being C:. So I re-linked all three back to the D: drive as the
windows installation disc says thats where Windows 7 is installed, although in the actual windows 7 My Computer its listed as C: drive which is weird? anyways after re-linking them using bcdedit /set {default} osdevice partition=D: and the other two commands
my recovery partition disappeared which was listed as C:, and now I can only see my local drive? That did not fix the error so I tried one last thing and ran another chkdsk D: /f /r which is taking for ages and I'm assuming my hard drive and its contents
are still intact ( thank god!!) because its taking so long and there are 612080 files to be processed!
I thought I might try and rebuild Master Boot Record?
I don't want to loose any of my data, well I hope I haven't lost any because I have over 150+ games and their saves :(
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated :D

I have been using itunes on my windows based pc for years but since installing the latest itunes update I have been getting the error message A required itunes component is not installed. Please reinstall itunes. (-42404)

I have been using itunes on my windows 64 bit laptop for years but since downloading the latest itunes 10.7 update whenever I opened itunes the error message 'A required itunes component is not installed. Please reinstall itunes (-42404)'
Itunes would still load and play music in my library and I could still sync my ipod but when loading a CD itunes would not recognise the album/tracks and I would need to type them manualing after uploading.
I have just bought the new iphone5 and went to sync the phone with itunes. itunes recognises the iphone when plugged in via the usb port or when wi fi is turned on but itunes will not allow the phone to sync.
I spent over an hour the other morning speaking to apple customer support and have ensured I have administer right and that UAC is turned off.
I was taken through msconfigure and adjusted the startup tab but still no joy.
In the end I was e-mailed instructions on how to uninstall and then reinstall itunes and component parts.
Now that I've uninstalled itunes when I try reinstalling I get the following messages during the download.
The 1st message is;
'The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\Web kit.resources\inspector\Images\Spinner Inactive Selected.gif.'
When I click ok the next message that appears sometime later during the install is;
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) Failed to start Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
The options I have are to abort, retry or ignore. If I retry the same message comes back and if I abort or ignore the download continues and I then get the following message:
'Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run itunes Helper. Please uninstall itunes, then reinstall itunes again. Error 2'
After attempting to reinstall itunes only some components were installed however itunes would not open.
It would appear many people have experienced problems with this latest download!

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Windows 8 Recovery Error - 0xc00000f

Hi All
I currently have a HP Pavilion 14-b030tu Sleekbook. What happened was the initial harddrive that came with the computer died and i was unable to clone the recovery partition for it. What i did was i called HP Support and they send me Recovery CDs for my laptop.
Since i currently do not have a external DVD drive i decided to copy and merge the contents of each disc onto a 32GB USB formatted as FAT32. What happens is everytime i try and boot the USB with Legacy Support Enabled and Secure Boot Disabled and vice versa it always says

A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
Error code: 0xc000000f
The new HDD is formatted as GPT and currently has a clean Windows 8 install on it. Ive set the USB Partition Type as Active but it still has the same problem.

The failure ID that you have provided for the memory test means that the Checksum has failed. This means that it is not finding a part that should be available, but is not showing. After taking a look into the issue of the memory test failing, the most likely cause of the failure is one memory modules has failed. I have included a link to another HP Forum thread here. Please follow the steps that DavidPK has outlined.
For the recovery error message that you are getting, this means that an integral component used during startup can not be found. This error should resolve itself once the memory Checksum error is resolved.
If your notebook has two memory modules, you should be able to boot from the one memory module until the other one is replaced.

How do I fix "OS requirements not met" error message when installing CS6 on Windows 8.1?

I am trying to install Design Standard CS6 on a Windows 8.1 Machine 64 bit (Toshiba Click-2 Pro, i7, 8 GB RAM, 1920 x 1080 resolution)
I get Warning DW066 and DW065, saying "OS Requirements not met" and "Display Requirements not met" for various things related to Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign CS6 but I don't believe this is true.
Acrobat Professional simply has ERROR DW050 - install failed, and doesn't show up at all.

Dear Jeff - Thanks for that - I had seen those notes on the adobe help site, but, the instructions given don't seem to apply exactly to Windows 8.1 as when I looked them up, I couldn't find the network path specified in the help document you reference:
Windows 32 bit (XP, Vista, 7): \Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
Windows 64 bit (XP, Vista, 7): \Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
because on my windows 8.1 machine, in the "Adobe" folder there was no "installer" folder.
Since I wasn't sure how to find the error log, My first "Troubleshooting" move was to de-install the program (Adobe Design Standard CS6) and then re-download the file from the adobe site here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/other-downloads.html
However, at the moment, the problem seems to be ok, so I guess that perhaps that fixed the problem? Fingers crossed!
For future reference (or in case someone else is looking at this posting with a similar issue?) do you know how to find the error log on an installation on Windows 8.1? Thanks!

Help!!! iTunes install error "Apple Mobile Device Service Failed To Start". Error 7 (Windows Error 193)

Help! Following a standard upgrade I got the error message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 193).
I am running Windows 7 and installing again brings the message "Apple Mobile Device Service failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services"
I have uninstalled everything Apple, deleted all related folders and run as administrator numerous times with no luck.
I had hoped that iTunes 12.1.2 would resolve the issue, unfortunately it failed to do so leaving me iTunes free which is driving me mad!
Can anyone advise what else I can do to resolve the error and bring back iTunes?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version, or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Some cameras are designed to use the power suppled via USB when they're plugged into another device, usually a PC or laptop. The iPad does not supply sufficient power for a camera. The iPad Camera kit allows for either a camera to be plugged in only for the transfer of photos, not as a power sourse, or the removal of the SD Card from a camera so it can transfer photos as an alternative.

Error "Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones"

I have a Curve 8300. With OS v4.5.0.81. And I am on a BB Social network plan through my cell providor "Fido".
I mainly use it for Facebook & Twitter and have no problems using either app. However I was prompted for an update for my twitter recently but wasn't near a wifi spot to update. Just decided to update today at home where I do have wifi. However when I go to do the update, it gives me the following error:
"Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones"
I have scoured for answers but haven't had much luck. I tried checking for OS updates. I apparently have the most current one that my phone will support. I uninstalled twitter and then tried to reinstall it via the twitter Icon on my phone. Got the same error. Tried reinstalling it through app world, it installed just fine. However it installed the version that I had previously had. So I went to twitter's settings and checked for updates. It prompted for one as I expected it would. And when I tried to get the update. It gave me that error again. I can use twitter as it is, but I don't see why my phone shouldn't be able to get all the updates for various apps. Is it a software compatability issue? Is it a hardware compatability issue? Is there anything I can do to get the update or do I just have a phone that won't take some app updates?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
The 8300 is not listed in the device upgrade table for Blackberry device OS v5.0. The newer versions of apps like Twitter and Facebook require device OS v5.0 to run correctly. Might be time to consider a new device!

Itouch locked up on window 7 iTunes[8143:10e2b]: server error (94): This device isn't eligible for the requested build on mac 10.4

Itouch was plugged into new window machine moving from vista to window 7 and froze with itouch window showing the itune icon and usb cord photo on screen.
It will not reset with off and select button holds.
does not show up in the directory of windows vista or 7
does not show up in Mac directory or disk utiltity window
will try to go to restore on mac but I am still at 10.4.11
and i get the computer screen message:

and got a couple of pages of dianostic stuff when clicked on ask for details
ipod did show up in mac itunes window until it gave me the "go away" message, but the only choice it gave me was to update the ipod software
I do not need to update the os on my mac mini   I am happy with it for as long this it lasts
Any help here would be greatly appreciated

I have followed one of your links to print cnfig in a run box and go down that path but it would not allow me to exit and restart without choosing quit On restart there was a cheer of hope from me   apple found in itunes and it showed up in the device and printer window but after 10 min or so of restore it said it is stuck in recovery and I must fix that issue first
Yeah Bite my tongue   did a second restore attemp and it syn'd to my itunes!!   I put on the old tune do you believe in magic and it is playing!!
