Error 0xFFFE7958 when downloading videos

Not only am I getting this error, but all attempts to reply to another post on this topic end up timing out.
I've been able to download music since this error occurred, but not video. It seems to go through the download process just fine unti the end, when the error message 0xFFFE7958 inevitably pops up.
For the record, it was Battlestar Galactica: Ressurection Ship, pt1 that I was trying to download

I had this problem with (so far) one episode of Lost (orientation) and two episodes of the Battlestar G miniseries (parts 2 and 4). The two episodes of BG just sort of resolved themselves after numerous attempts. The Lost episode just downloaded correctly after dozens of attempts. What finally worked was a combination of various fixes I found in the forum. I shut down all other apps and went into iTunes preferences/advanced, where I hit the 'reset' button. Then I shut down the computer and restarted it fresh, doing NOTHING but launching iTunes and checking for purchased music (which it did automatically come to think of it). Obviously based on my BG experience it could have just spontaneously resolved itself, but on the first attempt after all that it worked. At least it gives you something to try. Good luck and thanks to all the other users who experimented and posted their fixes.

  • Error message when downloading videos

Hi, I'm Godwin. I used to download lots of videos, including movies but of recent, I haven't been able to download any video; when I try, it'll say "error". I don't understand why its like that. I've checked my free memory space and its about 169megabyte, my signal status is -70, my network reads "3G",.....my phone's model is BLACKBERRY CURVE 9320. Pls help. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Unfortunately, from merely "error", there are too many possible reasons. Is that the exact and complete error message? Is there anything else in the error message that might give some additional hints?
In any event, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
You might also contact your mobile service for formal support...maybe they can see something more than just "error".
    Good luck!

  • Error message when downloading video from itunes

It keeps saying that my disk cannot be read or written to. I've already purchased the video (episode of the Office). Does anyone know what I can do to solve this? Thanks.

Easy way. Reset the iPod, then disconnect when you see the Apple logo.
Another way. Hold ctr-alt-del to bring up the Windows Task Manager. Go to the Processes tab and look for iTunesHelper.exe and iPodService.exe. Select them and hit the End Process button. Close the Windows Task Manager Window and try ejecting the iPod via the safely remove hardware method.
If you are still having problems you can try one more thing. Right click on the My Computer icon and select Manage from the list of actions. Go to the Services and Applications item and from there the services item. Double click on the services item to bring up the list of services currently installed on your computer. Look for the iPod Service and double click on it. From the new window select Stop. Now try again to eject using the safely remove hardware option.
Some anti-virus security software (particularly McAfee) can also cause a problem, and if you have this you might want to try turning it off and see if the iPod then ejects correctly.

How can I solve the -50 error when downloading video from itunes.   The apple support people cannot even figure it out!??

The 2330 error often means some sort of damage to the filing system as might happen if the battery fell out while the disk was in use.
Try running a disk check to see if it finds and fixes any errors.

  • Error (-50) when downloading from ATV and Trailers don't work - Invalid Fmt

My Apple TV syncs with an HP running Vista over an 802.11g network. I have a Watchguard Edge firewall. I can download updates and view YouTube without a problem. I have no problem downloading or renting movies on my PC.
The Apple TV will not download rentals. It fails in a very short time with Error (-50). It will not show any trailers displaying an invalid format error. Any idea what the problem may be?

iTunes Store: Error (-50) when downloading purchased videos
Last Modified on: April 24, 2007
    Article: 303887
    Symptom
The following alerts may appear when trying to download purchased videos from the iTunes Store:
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. An unknown error occurred (-50)."
This can happen when the connection timeout occurs while downloading purchased video content from the iTunes Store.
    Products affected
    iTunes Store
    iTunes for Windows
    iTunes for Mac OS X
    Purchased video content
    Solution
Deleting the cached video files of the download, and starting the download again from the beginning, often will resolve this issue.
To find the cached video downloads:
Navigate to the downloads folder on your system. This folder can be found in the following locations:
    Mac:
    ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads
Note: The tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
    Windows Vista:
    \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Downloads\
    Windows XP and 2000:
    \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Downloads\
Locate the folder that contains the cached video file for this purchase.
In Windows Vista, the folder will be named for the purchased video, and the name will end with .tmp.
    Example: The Dundies.tmp
In Windows XP and Windows 2000, the folder will be named for the purchased video, and the name will end with .m4v.tmp.
    Example: The Dundies.m4v.tmp
Move the .tmp folder for the affected purchased video to the Trash or Recycle Bin.
    Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Check for Purchases.
Enter your account name and password and click the Check button.

  • Error message when downloading from Google Play Store

After recently doing the toshiba system update for my AT300-32gb tablet I now get the following error message when downloading free apps from Google Play Store -Error processing purchase {DF-BPA-13].
Automatic update for downloaded apps no longer works either. Anyone have a solution to this?

Go into your settings and touch "apps" on the left. Then touch "Google Play services" and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache." Then touch "Apps" again on the left. Now do the same for the "Google Play Store" entry. Then hold down the power button until it asks if you want to turn it off. Go ahead and turn off the tablet. Then turn it back on and try again.

    Hi, DickmoAZ.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like a permission issue most likely with the iTunes Media folder.  Here is an article that will help you troubleshoot this issue.

  • I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading some Podcasts

I am getting Error = 9006 when downloading a podcast, Derb Radio on TakiMag, but not other podcasts.  It started occurring recently, about 3 of the last 4. This occurs on both a Windows and Apple machine.  iTunes is updated.  It does not occur with other podcasts.  Then end result is that the podcast does not download.
I also get a "rebuffering stream" interruption during playback on the computer.

    Hello there, johnsilker.
The following Knowledge Base article references some great information in regard to the very error you're seeing:
Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694#9006
    Particularly:
    Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.
