I can't update iphone 4s in itunes got error 1

Hello boyskie,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To help resolve this issue where you're unable to update your iPhone, due to receiving error code 1, I'd like you to please follow the directions outlined below.
Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Make sure that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • Error when updating iPhone software.

error: [There was a problem downloading the iPhone software for the iPhone "Eliz's iPhone". You do not have permission to access the requested resource.] I am trying to update iPhone to version 1.1.4 and I get the above error. I have reset the iPhone, restarted my computer, updated and repaired iTunes software (7.6.1.9)and nothing works. Has anybody else had this problem? Anybody know how to fix it?

Well I checked and all my USBs are 5.0 or higher. However, i have 4+ USB ports on the back of my computer. I tried two different ones and the second one allowed me to pull in my photos (which i could not do before). However, It still will not let me update the iPhone software. Same error - you do not have permission to access the selected resource.

  • HT201210 Error when updating iPhone from 5.1.1 to iOS 6.0

When I tried to update my iPhone software from 5.1.1 to iOS6, it said there was an error.  Then it said I needed to restore my iPhone.  I pushed update and restore, and it keeps giving me an error.  My iPhone is essentially wiped out and not usable because it shows iTunes with the cord logo on my phone.  I've tried this several times to restore.  What do I do?

  • Error 9 updating iphone 4 to ios4.3

Hi guys.. Anyone experienced error 9 when updating iphone 4 to ios 4.3? Any solutions? My phone is now useless because of this.. stuck in DFU and cannot do restore/recovery..

Did you check your security software settings? http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125
Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off of the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

  • IOS 7 Error when updating iphone 4 with new itunes account

Hi Guys, my phone is an Iphone 4, i tried creating a new itunes user account (as i was using my sons) then when i tried to peform an IOS7 update, it had an"upload Error" Message and i lost everything on my phone?

    Take a look at this:
Errors related to third-party security software
    Error 2, 4 (or -4), 6, 1000, 9006
Follow the steps to troubleshoot security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or phobos.apple.com isn't blocked by a firewall or other Internet security setting.
Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under "Advanced steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)" below for file locations.
Restore your device while connected to a different network.
    Restore using a different computer.

  • Unknown error when updating iphone

I just tried installing the 7.0.3 update for my iPhone 4 and it came back with an unknown error message. Does this mean I have lost all of my pictures that I hadn't downloaded yet? I just synced my phone before I updated. It has some irreplaceable pictures I took of my kids.
    Thanks.

    Here:
The folder where your backup data are stored varies depending on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your periodic data-backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Note: The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your home folder, Option-click the Go menu.
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press theReturn key.
If you find the photos, then restore.
Or, go to iTunes>iTunes Preferences (drop down menu)>Backup> and check to see if the backup is the most recent one. If there is no back up, then the photos might be gone if they are also not on your computer from any other methods.

Well I checked and all my USBs are 5.0 or higher. However, i have 4+ USB ports on the back of my computer. • -50 error when updating iphone???

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to update/back-up my iPhone 4 to the latest version. I've been sucessful in updating itunes, however, when I try to update my phone, the (-50 error message appears. It gives me the option to continue or cancel. It warns me that if I continue, it will delete all content. I'm concerned I will lose everything if I continue".
If anyone has any step by step information on how to fix , it would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    jamiefromon

If you have a backup stored in itunes you have nothing to worry about if not just right on you iphone under device and choose backup.
As far as the error message goes if you search that message (-50) on http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694 it refers you to errors 13 and 14 which states
These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
    Hope that works for you

  • Error trying to Update iPhone, now I cannot use my iPhone!!!!!!!!

I plugged my iphone into my computer, clicked "Check for Updates" and it downloaded the software and installed it.. and then while it was "Verifying Software Update" it gets an error saying "The iphone "iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occured. (6)"
Then a picture of itunes and a usb cable shows up on my iphone screen.
So I unlug it and plug it back in, and itunes then says "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes."
So, I click OK and thn Restore. Then it says "Are you sure you want to restore your iphone "iphone" to it's factory settings? All of your media and other data will be erased, and the newest version of the iphone software will be installed." So I click "Restore and Update" (because if I click cancel, I still can't do anything but click restore, and it gives the same message everytime.)
So, once I click Restore and Update, it then starts that process. Then I get another error in the middle of it "Verifying Software" saying "The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured. (6)" I then click OK. Itunes again no longer finds my device and my iphone screen shows ituness and a usb cable.
NOW I CANNOT TURN MY IPHONE ON, BECAUSE WHEN I DO ALL I SEE IS THE ITUNES PICTURE AND A USB CABLE. UGHHH OMG, HELP/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic_ __/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images /migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not- avail.png
Also, under version, it now says my iphone is Up to Date with its software.
Also, everytime I connect the iphone to my computer, itunes says "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes."
So, I can't restore my phone... I can't use my phone because all that will show up is the usb cable and itunes picture, so I don't know what to do/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___ /migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/m igration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-av ail.png

Hi everybody, well update on my phone....IT CRASHED!!!! I happen to be a fortunate sole as my phone was ONLY 21 days old....I took it to nearest dealer after techs could not resolve the issue...it would not go past 'verifying phone software'....I was given a FULL refund, thank goodness....no more IPHONE for me...back to the ole faithful 'razor' phone..one thing a tech tried was other than the obvious, while plugging your cord into port HOLD down the HOME button at same time and it could FORCE the phone into recovery mode...didn't work for me but might for you guys....very pathetic...have an aunt in SLC, Utah...up for an upgrade in November and with this she's OPTED to maintain her current phone and contract with other carrier....I don't think this is very good for Apple or AT&T....for those of you lucky enough to still be up and running, the only thing I can say is make sure you have a backup OFTEN...FYI, my original contacts on my sim card that was transferred from my old phone were STILL THERE....good luck everybody, I'm out of here....
