Error 1005

I'm trying to use my recovery disc's and partition to reload my Vista laptop however I keep getting an error 1005 on it.
My laptop is a Presario CQ61-220SA
Anyone got any ideas?

Do I need to replace the hdd?

  • HP Pavilion DV6 - problem with HP recovery - error 1005

    I'm trying to format the computer and reinstall windows.
    The laptop does not have a hard disk partition for the recovery. I'm using the DVD's that where made when I got the computer.
    I can open the HP recovery system and get about 36% in, before i get the message: "error 1005"
    I have tried several options that i could find on google like: cleaning the disc's, setting the BIOS to default, checking the disc's are DVD+R.
    Someone suggested that Wireless has to be turned on when using the recovery. Mine is turned off. I can't turn on the computer and switch it on, and the keyboard button (touch button) don't respond.
    Any suggestion on how to turn Wireless on, or how to fix the recovery?

    There may be a work around if you have ( or can borrow ) a retail Windows 7 installation disc that is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the exact retail version you would need.
    If you have access to this, use the retail disc to perform the installation, enter the activation key found on the underside of your notebook when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this is fully supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software normally bundled with OEM installations.

  • DTW,  Unkonwn error 1005!65171

    Dear all,
    I have UDO which contain 2 UDT ( Master and Master Row )
    I try to DTW the UDO , but always fail.
    I generate the template by using Template->Customise Template->Select Object->User Defined Data->UDO-> My UDO Name
    After that i fill my data and dtw.
    After DTW the status Created failed Reason Unkonwn error 1005!65171
    I also try to generate the udo by using Template->Generate Template UDO-> Choose my UDO Name
    The result still same, status Created failed Reason Unkonwn error 1005!65171.
    My data input has matched with table structure
    My SAP Version 8.8 PL 15, Database USA Localization
    Does any one can help me to solve ?

    If you're using your Recovery Discs to reinstall Vista this may just be a problem with the Recovery Process, I would suggest trying the following method to see if this will allow you to reinstall Vista.
    Before trying the following, make sure you can still read the 25 Character Product Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
    In the same way that it's possible to create a Windows 7 retail disc, use this to perform the installation and then use the OEM windows 7 activation key from the COA label, the same process is possible if your PC came with Vista.  A full description ( including links to the Vista Image downloads ) of this can be found on the following link.

    I have Hp dv5 1010ea one day I formatted the system with Win7 but it was infected witha  a virus so I decided to recover it with the recovery DVD( purchased from hp) but it didn't work after finishing to 100% a message appeared and said error 1005? can you help plzz?

    Error 1005 is often seen with a bad hard drive.The test in BIOS usually tells you if there is a problem with the hard drive. However, I have seen the test pass but still no successful recovery without replacing the drive. So to answer your question- it just might tell you right off the start that the drive is bad.

    Hi everyone!  I'm from chile and I have  a pavillion TX2510us notebook tablet pc. I'm trying to restore my  TX 2510us tablet notebook pc from just created dvd's but twuce I have received the same error #1005, while at 52% of the first dvd. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance!!!

    I would suggest either ordering recovery discs from HP or attempt to recover from the F11 recovery manager.

  • DTW Unknown error 1005 filling @BNITMDV

    Hi experts,
    Trying to fill the commodity codes of the items intrastat settings with DTW, using UDO_BNITMDV, it is running in "Unknown error -1005".
    If trying the same wiht UDT it fails indicating "created failed" with reason 65172.
    Both of these errors are told to indicate a formatting problem. What may be wrong with the following data?

    Can anyone shed any light on this? A few people online have had the same issue but our application is all instaleld locally to the machine and it's not making any requests/calls to any other servers etc.

    Does the vendor support this application on Windows Server 2012?
    Just because it ran on an earlier version of Windows is no guarantee that the vendor has tested it and supports it on 2012.

    I can't get my IPad to play a radio station or news broadcast, it says there is an error connect to internet, yet I'm on the internet!?

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • Error 1005 in Photos

    I am having trouble moving photos out of the new Photos app. I tried dragging an dropping, I tried dragging to PS Elements and then I tried exporting to a file on my desktop. Each time I get this message. It seems I cannot export ... any suggestions?  Many thanks!!

    The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    I get the following error when attempting to add a new CrystalReport to my project:
    Database Connection Error: ‘ADO Error Code: 0x80040e14
    Source: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0
    Description: Line 1: invalid procedure number (0). Must be between 1 and 32767.
    SQL State: 42000
    Native Error: 1005 [Database Vendor Code: 1005 ]’
    This is happening as soon as I select the database:
    It asks me to enter the database password, then crashed out with this error, without giving me the chance to even select any procedures.
    There are procedures there, and the user account used to log in has access to them.
    I'm using Visual Studio 2010.

    Database Vendor Code: 1005 is being passed from the database client through the report engine - unmodified. E.g.; look for the error in your database documentation.

    All 65171 errors are related to data format mismatch. You need to try by only few columns first and add one column at a time to test.

  • DTW Error 65171 "Cannot find this object in B1"

    Hello experts
    By trying to perform a massive modifying of Journal entries using DTW I am getting this error for all the lines of my source file. I am trying to modify cost center, so I am using the JDT1 template for the data load.
    The thing is that by checking Step 5 "Map Object Fields", "Source Data" tab is displaying all the data as it is on the file, but on "Target Data" tab I can not find Journal entry number and LineNum, the rest f the data is ok, but those two fields are not being retrieved on "Target Data".
