Error #1009 Live Office Connections

Hi,
I created a dashboard in Xcelsius 2008, with live office connections. When I'm testing (select an options with combo box, and show me tool bars, datasheets....) it on Infoview, the following message appears by surprise on a grey background:
"An error has ocurred.
For more information, contact the file creator or your system administrator.
Error: Error #1009
Connection type: Live Office Connection"
When I try again (the same combination) , the results appears correctly.
Apparently, the live office connection doesn't return all query results at the first time.
Any idea what's the problem? and how can I solved it?

Hi,
You Didn't mentioned the Xcelsius version you are using.
I presume that you need to install the latest fix pack. This fix pack 3.1 addressed this problem. I would suggest you to install all in a row (Hot Fix 3.4 is the latest one).

Problem with Cross Tab in Live Office Connectivity

Hi Experts,
I am using Live Office Connectivity to build a Xcelsius Dashboard.
The webi Report has data in 4 cross tabs which comes to Xcelsius as 4 LO Connections.
The size of the Xcelsius Doc is around 900K. I am getting "Xcelcius has stopped working " error when i preview the document.
Earlier i have built dashboards on Webi Report which used Verticle tables(more than 1 MB in size). I am able to preview them and generate SWF without any problem.
I am working on Xcelsius SP3 on Vista OS with 2 GB RAM.
Is using Cross Tab, responsible for the Application Crash or any other reason?
Please help me in solving the above problem at the earliest.

Webi cross tabs via Live Office connection should work. Pls see this [post|Re: Does Xcelsius support Cross Tab report via Live Office?; for more detail.
Pls let me know what version of Xcelsius you are using because this error is known to popup when some of the dlls are not registered as well.

Hi Mahendra,
Confirm if you are getting the same issue outside Xcelsius i.e in the Microsoft Excel.
Try refreshing the Live office objects in MS excel using the option "Refresh all objects "and then import .xls it in Xcelsius.

Live Office Connection not showing Go to Object Option

Hi All,
i m using Xcelsius Enterprise 4.5. I have created a dashboard in which I m having a live office connection. I had added the live office connection from a Webi Report, Binded the Prompt and created a live office connection to the server. The report was working fine.
After a couple of days when I open the report again I find the Go to Object has been disabled in the report and the Modify Object shows only Properties option. The Refresh Object also does not work.
Could you tell me what has gone wrong and how to fix it.

I am still on Xcelsius 2008 but faced similar refresh disabled problems. May be this helps:
These days I maintain a Live Office Excel spreadsheet and import it into Xcelsius after any kind of changes.
You can maintain the data connections part within Xcelsius as required, but treat Live Office Excel report as a separate unit and set up all the refresh properties at report part level before you import it into and start developing the Xcelsius.
This way the refresh never gets affected and it works every time.

Live office-connection disconnected

I have live office connection problem in Xcelsius 2008. When I see into connections,live office connection is showing as disconnected. Right now, I am using Live Office SP1 and Xcelisus SP3
Can any one help me resolve this problem?

In design time it will show the status disconnected but in run time it will work. So status is not an issue.

Automatic Refresh of Xcelsius dashboard with Live Office connection

Hi,
I have an Xcelsius dashbaord which has Live Office connectivity to universe query. Universe is build on a Bex query. Now, I need to auto refresh my dashboard say every 15 seconds.
Under 'Data > Connection' menu, I could find 'Refresh every' option for refreshing the dashboard at specified interval. However, it doesn't seem to work. Also, the user guide for Xcelsius 2008 SP3 indicates that this auto refresh is only for QaaWS, Web Services, and XML Data connections only.
Can someone let me know if this is still the case? Is it possible to have auto refresh for LO connection ? If not, what is the best alternative? I believe QaaWS would work.

Well its still possible to refresh LO connection every 15second. You can use play selector which counts 0-15. Then bind your LO connection refresh option to Play Selector's destination, make it When value becomes 15.

Fatal Error during Live Office Installation

Hi Friends,
I am facing issue in Live Office.
I had installated Live Office but since the Live Office option was not seen in any of the MS Office applications so I tried to uninstall Live Office software.
But its giving me Fatal Error during installation.
Could you please let me know how can I reinstall only BO Live Office software.

Also, I ahve installated BO XI3.1 server.
Earlier it everything was working fine.
Later as the Live office icon was not seen in the Excel so I tried repair it.
After that I am getting this problem: nFata error during installation.
I tried rintsllaing entire BO 3.1 setup completly by cleaning the resigstry. But that also did not help.
It would be great if someone can provide any solution ASAP.

Web Services URL - Live office connection

Hi,
When I try to give the web service URL as
http://<Server>:<Port>/dswsbobje/services/Session
I get a error saying unable to connect to the server. Any thoughts?

Live Office Error when connecting to SAP BW data (Offline dashboard)

Hi experts,
we have built up an Live Office connection to SAP BW query data to create a dashboards, which can show the data also in offlne mode. We are using exactly the same procedure as recommanded by Ingo Hilgofort in [End-to-End Scenarios With Xcelsius 2008|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/90ad73b1-506c-2b10-9e9b-9fde523f010a].
When trying to refresh the Live Office connection using the "Refresh" button in the dashboard we receive the error LO 26301: The current refresh option requires a report instance that does not exist.
The recommended action is: Change the refresh option of the object or use the CMC to schedule a new instance.
But creating an instance of the dashboard is not possible. What is meant by that? Is it necessary that we embed the Xcelsius flash into a PDF or a Crystal Report? What are our alternatives?

i create an instance of report by USER1... and..... dashboard is pointed to latest instance.
when i refresh a dashboard (by clicking on refresh button) it requires login to infoview ... i login to infoview by USER 2 not by USER1.....
it showing an error
_The current refresh option requires a report instance that does not exist. (LO 26301)_
Note:-But data is changing in dashboard
any solution for solving this error.

Live Office Errors

Anyone else having any similar errors? or have any resolutions?

Live Office Version: XI 3.0 FP2
Xcelsius Version: 2008 SP1
Description of Dashboards
·          Dashboard pulls about 22 tables that have been built within a WEBI report into Excel via a Live Office connection
·          I updated web services URL for each connection and set each to u2018Update on Loadu2019
·          I then exported the dashboard both to a local SWF and to InfoView
So on to the issues:
·          Issue #1: Iu2019ve noticed when I load the dashboard for the first time in the day that I get error LO26000, but then it doesnu2019t show up for subsequent loads during the day
·          Issue #2: About 20-40% of the time, I will get errors LO26315 (one error popup is generated for each table that does not get loaded), however, I always get varying numbers of this error in one load (i.e., different numbers of tables are not getting loaded) but usually it is around 3-4 errors u2013 in addition, it is always different tables within the dashboard that donu2019t get loaded
So in other words, when loading the dashboard, about 20-40% of the time I will get these LO26315 messages, but it canu2019t be caused by specific tables that are causing errors (since different numbers of tables donu2019t get loaded AND it is different tables each time)
Re: Issue #1 u2013 I have already troubleshot the servers not being running with support and I showed them that the servers were all running, but I was still getting this error
Re: Issue#2 u2013 I originally thought this could be caused because the WEBI Processing Servers that Live Office was using to download the tables were at capacity and therefore were faulting because they did not have enough memory to allocate to the requests, so I tried assigning the WEBI source report to a WEBI Processing Server Group that we have that gets very little traffic. This seems to have reduced the number of times that I get the error messages, but hence, I am still getting them.
BTW u2013 The dashboards that Iu2019ve created that consume less tables (5-6) seem to give me errors much less frequently, if at all. So I am convinced, perhaps incorrectly, that these errors have something to do with the number of tables that Iu2019m trying to pull.

Thanks so much for the reply - and very prompt too. I really appreciate you taking the time to read through the long post.
I couldn't agree with you more regarding consolidation of the reports. Unfortunately, I think you would understand that this comes at the cost of a much more complex Excel model. As my client is currently comfortable building WEBI and working within its environment, it's great for long term maintenance of the dashboard if they can build the reports in WEBI and levergae it's inherent functionality rather than building complex Excel logic (of which can cause other issues for Xcelsius). For example, if you have to build INDEX functions on top of INDEX functions on top of INDEX functions. Would be great if there was a way to leverage the 'INDIRECT' function in Excel, but unfortunately it isn't supported yet, so you have to build INDEX on top of INDEX (which works, but I've heard isn't officially supported either).
So, anyways, to your point, I'm definitely with you in terms of consolidating tables, but I'm hesitant if it means building extremely complex Excel logic....
In terms of the 'Refresh on Load' - I can test the other option that you mention, but my gut would tell me that I'd get the same errors, since I'm getting Live Office errors (since the Live Office routines would be the same in both cases) and not Xcelsius errors with the Initialization freezing, etc.
I have had the same experiences with you regarding LO26315, but unfortunately neither of these causes are the answer to my problem.
Suggestion #1:
We have 11 WEBI processing servers, and yes, while some of them may be stuck in the state of 'Starting', etc. that is definitely not the case for all of them (they are usually in 'Starting' mode because the server failed because of a capacity issue that cause it to fail).
Anyways, I've heard from Business Objects engineers that the dashboard Live Office connections will use the same servers that the WEBI source report is scheduled to. So, I scheduled the WEBI source report to 4 of the 11 servers that get utilized very little (hence they never fail). This should essentially eliminate this as being a cause.
Furthermore, with BO support on a webinar, I have checked to make sure all servers were running, then loaded the dashboard, and then still gotten the LO26315 errors.
Suggestion #2:
There are no changes to the report that have been made. As I mentioned, the LO26315 errors only show up about 20% of the time that the dashboard is loaded, in this time there have been no updates made to the WEBI report. Here is a typical scenario.
1st Dashboard Load: Get error LO26000
Close Dashboard
2nd Dashboard Load: No errors
Close Dashboard
3rd Dashboard Load: Get Error LO26315 x 3 (meaning that 3 tables of the 22 didn't load - let's say table 1, 2, and 3)
Close Dashboard
4th Dashboard Load: No errors
Close Dashboard
5th Dashboard Load: Get Error LO26315 x 2 (meaning that 2 tables of the 22 didn't load - except this time it could be tables 4 and 6)
Close Dashboard
Basically, it is always a different set of tables that don't load (give errors) and it doesn't happen everytime the dashboard is loaded.
Because of this, I'm strongly thinking this is an issue with the Live Office product and how the data is retrieved, but hoping it isn't....
After all - if Live Office works for pulling 3-4 tables (simple dashboard), then it should also be built to handle complex Enterprise dashboards as well (15-20 tables)....

Live Office or Qaas Connection perfomance

So my question is whether we should use Live office connection or QAAS connection.
Perfomance wise which one is better.

If you want to combine advantages of easy connection design from QaaWS, with complex blocks & scheduling from LO, oyu may want to try BI Services (Web Intelligence report parts published as web services from WebI Rich Client since XI 3.1 SP2).
This also provides access to report filters and drills.
Benches have shown BI Services to be more efficient as compared with QaaWS, since they provide several setting parameters to tune consumption, leverage scheduling and avoid as much as possible DB round-trips (ie document refreshes) which you cannot really avoid with QaaWS.

Unable to add Live Office Data Connection

I Opened EXCEL -> Went to add-ins tab of the excel sheet -> added a new live office component (webI report) -> saved as LIVE OFFICE OBJECT ( .XLS).
Opened Data Manager in Xcelcius -> clicked on add -> Live Office Connections. There is no action happening!
Can anyone help me what would be the problem
Note: I am able to add other connections like qaaws

Live office objects loses connection with server

Issue : Creating new query in live office XIR2 and saving excel file.
After reopening live office document the inserted objects is not recognized as Live office objects .
While going to live office properties error occurs "Live office objects properties cannot be shown because there are no objects in current location"
same newly created query work fine fro 2 days and again same error occurs.

Problem with Live Office Web Services

Hi@all,
we have a problem with the Live Office connection options.
The Webservice URL entry has an error: "Verion conflict: Your Live office client needs a newer version of Business Objects Web Services".
I have installed the newest SP (SP3) for XI 3.1 for my Live Office Client and for the BO client tools but it do not work. Has anybody an idea?

Any solution for this? We have the same issue.
Got resolved by recreating the webi document from scratch and the live connections.
But this issue really scares me as I have did not see any reason for this to happen and it is very inconsistant.

Live Office SP3.4/Office 2010 - Live Office objects disappear on conversion

I am testing Live Office XI 3.1 FP3.4 on a Windows 7 laptop with Office 2010 installed and have a question.
I take an Excel 2003 file (XLS) file that has Live Office connections and open it in Office 2010. Then I save as an XLSX file. While saving I get a message that states:
"The name, [1]_1_CRADDIN_DataGrid, either conflicts with a valid range reference of is invalid for Excel. The name has been replaced with 11__1_CRADDIN_DataGrid. You may still need to manually update any references to this name used in VBA code or as text arguements in functions. You must close and reopen the workbook before these changes take effect."
I complete the save then close and reopen the file. When I go check for my Live Office objects, they seem to have disappeared (meaning I right click on what used to be a Live Office object, but I no longer see Live Office on the popup menu).
Can't I convert my old data models to the new excel format? I am doing this because the XLF is taking a LONG time to open in Xcelsius 2008 SP4 with multiple server busy messages. I thought updating the Excel file might speed things up but since the Live Office objects are disappearing from my spreadsheet this is not working as expected.
If any pointers can be given that would be great. If I have missed any documenation that may help me out, please let me know. I checked the Live Office documentation and the highest thing for XI 3.1 I see is SP3, no FP3.4 (or even SP4).

How do I know if Office is 64 bit? If I go to the control panel, I see that "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010" is installed.
There are no named ranges in my sheet.
