Error 101 (problem extracting the installer): Creative Suite 6 Master Collection Trial

I have 400 gb of free space. 32 gb of ram.Im using Win7 64bit SP1. Have downloaded to the default folder and "tried the solutions" on the adobe troubling shooting guide. There seems to be alot of users with the same issue. Please advise.

Not an answer, but the same question and a terrible experience with technical support.
I am running a Win 7 64-bit machine with 16GB ram and twin terrabyte drives (OS and programs on one, data on the other). I'm downloading CS6 Design Standard.
After downloading and installing the Download Assistant, I download the files. After 2-3 hours, it gets to 100% and gives the 101 error upon extracting. I've tried extracting it to both drives (never the applications or program folders) - both of which have more than 700GB available and no permissions issues. I have MS Security Essentials disabled. I have tried twice to delete everything, then used Revo to uninstall the Download Assistant, rebooted, and reinstalled. Every single time, I get the same issue. I started a direct download, but it was looking like it would take twelve hours to download, so I decided to call Tech Support.
After spending a total of almost an hour on hold to get Technical Support, and about 20 minutes talking with Technical Support, the guy told me he had never heard of the problem persisting to that degree. He then advised me to disable all startup programs and services (except MS), reboot in safe mode. I thought he was just trying to troubleshoot some issue, but then he says he wants me to download the file that way. The guy got all ratty when I said I can't have my main computer running in safe mode with all the services disabled during business hours. Upon trying to get my computer back to normal, it uninstalled a bunch of drivers, and I had to go back to a restore point. Not your problem, but what a pain in the bum.
I'm now trying it on my laptop (W7 64-bit 8GB ram) with minimal stuff running and Security Essentials disabled, but I'm not hopeful.
At this point, I have burned through half of my monthly bandwidth in two days downloading and re-downloading the same package. I don't go through that much most months! This has been an incredible disappointing, frustrating experience.
Has anyone yet figured out what is causing this issue on computers that don't have space or permission problems? Is spending half a day doing a direct download the only workaround?

    Should be okay for all but the most demand apps. Don't expect miracles though.
    Again, though, please be careful with bargain software. Anything more than about 5-10% off the list price is likely to be illegally pirated or stolen software.

    The trial CS5 will only have the "new" applications.
    Acrobat 9, not be "new", won't be in the trial.
    Should you purchase CS5, Acrobat 9 Pro will be on the install media.
    If you download, there will be two items to obtain.

  • Help with reinstalling Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection

    About a year or so ago, I purchased and installed the Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection on my 1TB external hard drive (since that hard drive was bigger). Unfortunately, the hard drive just died, which means that all the programs in the suite are gone. I'm now trying to reinstall the suite internally on my computer, but it isn't letting me pick the directory. Everything else is fine; the serial number works, my account is working and there aren't any errors. But when I reach the 'options' page, I'm stuck. I check the option to install all the programs, I pick the language, but where it says the directory, it still has the directory of my old hard drive. I've tried unplugging the external hard drive (just in case it was still reading it), but it still has the directory chosen, and there isn't any button to let me browse and change it to another hard drive. I tried installing it anyway to see what would happen, but the install fails and stops. I even tried to copy and paste the new directory into the space, but still nothing. Can anyone help? Also, I went to Control Panel to see if the files were still there, but they weren't.

    Thank you so much! I ran the cleaner, and it's given me the option to change BUT now, it gives me this when I pick the new directory. Any suggestions?

    Under this address, CC has been purchased in July  21st, 2014, that is the reason it is not allowing further purchase as under one Adobe ID, only one subscription of CC( Individual, single app, Team) can be activated & used.

    Hi, I'm trying to download the Adobe CS5 Master COllection, but when the "Akamai Download Manager" pops up and should start the download, the two downloadbars disappears and I get the message "Cancelled Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection English Windows". I've tried with Chrome, Mozilla and internet explorer, as well as restarting the computer, but that doesn't work.
    Anyone knows how to make this work?

    Just use the browser's download function. There should be a choice in the download link to download directly or with the Akamai Downloader.
    And don't use Internet Explorer. Use Firefox or Chrome.

    Please merge all these 3 iso file contents into a single folder and retry. Alternatively, you can mount these iso files one at a time in sequence(though same mount drive). AAMEE should be able to recognize CS6 medias in both the cases. Please refer to AAMEE 3.1 deployment guide & share the logs if it does not work.

    Has anybody had this problem when installing Creative suite 6 Master Collection? It says: The product you are trying to install in not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit. I have received the product directly from Adobe. It will validate it then start to install then stop and give me the above error. Help.

    If you are still experiencing difficulties please try copying the install files from the DVD to your desktop and try installing from there.  The error still indicates that the installation files have become compromised.  If you are installing from the DVD this could indicate either a problem with the media or your optical drive.

    Ok will you can try running the uninstaller which is located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installer.  It may not function due to the method you utilized to remove the software.  If you still have problems then you can try running the CS5 Cleanup Script - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

    CS 4 is not supported under Windows 8. There are bound to be problems with several programs. You will have more problems with 64-bit Windows 8 than the 32-bit version. I know for certain that you will have issues with Acrobat.

    if you read it it says to open the Flex folder and change the name. I did that and the apps work but I was not asked for the serial number again. I was in in 10.4.11 and just upgraded to 10.5.4 could that have caused this as I was running fine before.
