Automatic update advised me updates ready to install but when I try with iTunes get error message 103. Has anyone any ideas please?

I'm trying to update my itunes on my iMac G5 but whenever I try to install the update it comes up with
' itunesX cannot be installed on this computer. Please quit iTunes before performing this update'
I know that OS 10.3.9 is required and that is the system that I'm running on so I'm stumped.
I'm extremely frustrated as I've previously managed OK when updating for the families other ipods, now I've bought my husband the 2G shuffle I can't even get the update to get it to work!

Make sure all apps are closed completely then click on the blue Apple (Upper Left hand Corner) Go to Software updates..

Every time I click Help- Check for updates iTunes gives me a pop-up. This pop-up reads "The server for updates cannot be reached" and to "check my internet connection" or something to that effect. This just does not make sense, since I am able to do everything else as normal on the internet. Help!

Error message when try to download itunes

Trying to download itunes again to my windows laptop. It appears to be loaded having gone through the set up procedure but keeps coming up with a runtime error message in a box. It says;

When I clear this box another one pops up and says
' itunes was not installed correctly, please reinstall itunes error 7 (windows error1114)
I have tried to reload itunes but this keeps happening. I tunes has been running correctly on this computer for several years!
Does anyone out there have a clue as to what to do?

Getting Error Message When Try to Open iTunes

I recently had to reinstall my Os now I am having some issues. I unlocked all the folders to access my archives but now I open iTunes. I even reinstalled (10.4.1) the application but I am still is getting this error message, "The folder “iTunes” is on a locked disk or you do not have write permissions for this folder."
I do not know what to do. Please advise. Thx.

i found that apple added new update to 4.2 so i choose update after it finish it gaves me error 1015 now my iphone stucks at recovery mode and all i can do is restore and it gives me the same error

I have the same problem! Even I changed a computer, changed another usb, changed everything I can change! if u can find 4.0 ipsw I think u can restore ur iPhone back to 4.0, I did, at least I can use my iPhone.

When I try to update iTunes 10.3, Insufficient Privileges error. C:\programData\{429CAD59-35B1-4DBC-BB6D-1DB24-6563521}\x86\DIFxAPI.dll

When I try to update iTunes 10.3, the installer finishes downloading but then this message appears "errors occured while installing updates. If the problem persist, select Tools, "just download" and instal them manually"
so I go and do that, select Tools and then just download. Then when it finishes loading it goes back to the Apple Software Updater and pups up another window at this location C:\Users\brandsmart\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update
there I find AppleApplicationSupport, AppleMobileDeviceSupport, Bonjour, iTunes, QuickTime and SetupAdmin. So when I select iTunes it starts downloading it again, but this time as if it was the first time (not an update)..
It takes me to "Welcome to the iTunes Installer" I click next, I accept the terms and conditions and click next, takes me to the "Installations Options" I check and click "Install" then click "accept" then "accept" again, so it starts to download but then when it finishes downloading this meassage appears "the installer has insuffisient privileges to modify this file: C:\ProgramData\{429CAD59=35B1-4DBC-BB6D-1DB24-6563521}\x86\DIFxAPI.dll.
and there are three options- "Abort, Retry and Ignore." If I "ignore", nothing happens, just closes and pups right back up. If I click "retry," just the same, closes and opens right back up with the same options. If I "abort" it asks me if I'm sure to cancel, so I click "yes" so it says "rolling back action." when it's done it just closes everything and if I try to update, it's the same story all over again.
If I go to the "Advanced Security Settings for iTunes" I can see my name and two more options, all of them say "allow and full control" so I'm guessing that's not the problem but I don't really know.
Please somebody help me!! I don't know what to do.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
