Error 103 when updating iTunes 10.6.3 -

My Mac Mini (late 2009) doesn't accept iTunes updates. It keeps at version 10.6.3. Problem started when OS X was Lion and it still continues with Mountain Lion. I have downloaded iTunes and tried to install it but with no success. After ML upgrade I tried it again and it doesn't helped. Every time it gives me error 103. Somebody told it is a registering software issue so I made an authorization again with iTunes. Problem is still the same. Now I don't know what to do anymore, it's very frustraiting situation. My MBP works well and it has iTunes 10.7. I'd like to use shared iTunes libraries between these computers but now it's impossible because of different versions.
Any idea?
br. Sauli

You need to backup your computer then uninstall I-tunes and reinstall itunes.
Delete iTunes
Deleting iTunes is not recommended unless you know what you’re doing.
Launch Terminal from the UTILITIES within Applications
Type the following commands:
cd /Applications/
This brings you into the Applications directory, the next command deletes iTunes itself:
sudo rm -rf iTunes.app/
Enter the Administrator password to confirm
There is no warning or confirmation other than entering the admin password, iTunes will immediately be deleted, effectively uninstalling it from the Mac.
Deleting the iTunes application will NOT delete the ITUNES or music, and any purchases bought through iTunes will still remain tied to the Apple ID used to originally buy them.
You can download the newest version from Apple, and running their installer will bring iTunes back to life on your computer.

  • Error message when updating Itunes...can not open Itunes program

I am recieving error message when updating Itunes for my computer.  The error message reads "MSVCR80.dll is missing and the other error message reads Error 7  (Windows error 126)"  I can not open my Itunes.  I have reloaded the Itunes onto my computer but still have the same error messages.  Please help.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • I Keep getting error messages when updating itunes

The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with package. The error code is 2349.
That the error i get when updateing the itunes iv downloaded it like 5 diff times and still the same message what else can i do about it?
can anyone help me please and thank you for your time

Although it's a better bet with a 2330 error, I'd try running a chkdsk over your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you've got your program files installed on).
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Error 103 when updating.

I have tried all the recommendations but still get the error message 103 when trying to update. I cant update any Apple updates
Can anyone shed any light and help please

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

Let's try the following procedure with that missing itunes.msi message.
First, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. If it goes, good. If it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to iTunes.
Next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. Use it to clear any existing iTunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC. (Launch Windows Installer CleanUp, find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.)
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover iTunes and QuickTime program files:

Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Error 2908 when updating iTunes to 11.3.54

Okay so I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop. The other day I got an iPhone and I want to put my music onto it. So I connect it to iTunes, but iTunes won't let me sync up to it without the update. So I figure okay let's update this and get it over with. I then try several times to update using the iTunes installer. An error occurs each time. So I download each item in the update to install everything manually. I try to launch the .msi files. Regardless of what I launch, I end up getting an error code 2908, but the update doesn't stop there. It continues and tries to write to the registry. It then tells me I am missing a key and I need to access it. The thing is iTunes is running just fine. Even as I type this now I'm playing music with it. So thoughts?
I have not tried to completely uninstall/reinstall yet. This is not the first time updates have failed for me. I've waited it out before and updated to a  later version. This error doesn't seem run-of-the-mill though so any and all thoughts are appreciated. I'll also provide some other info: all services associated with iTunes, those 3 services, are all running. I've also run a complete registry clean with cccleaner yesterday to see if it would fix the issue - it didn't. At this point, I'm stumped.
The only reason I haven't uninstall/reinstalled is cause it takes a long time and everything works right now, so if it ain't broke don't replace it, right?

  • Error 103 when updating software (Garageband and Apple Loops 1.0)

My Macbook Pro (retina) keeps recieving an error(102) msg when trying to update the software that contains Garageband and Apple Loops 1.0

    Paul,
I think what is happening is, that the update you are trying to install is meant for the new Mavericks compatable version of GarageBand - GarageBand 10.0. When the download finishes, it cannot be installed properly, because GarageBand 10.0 is not present. With GB 10 installed, these instruments download with no problem on my mac.
GB 10.0 is free on Mavericks - so, honestly, download and install GB 10.0 in addition to your current version. Let it download and install additional instruments and loops, launch it once to let it rebuild the loop index, then ignore it. The application does not need much space, and perhaps you may want to use occasionally the automatic drummer or the Arpeggiator. Before downloading GB10.0, make a backup copy of GB '09, just in case the installer should try to overwrite it.
After GB 10 installed the additional instruments, search for all places with installed loops in the system library and rebuild your loop index.

    Okay.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
