Error 1042006

Hi,I have a VBA program developed in Excel 2000 and it works without any programs. But error 1042006(Network error) returned by EssVGetMemberInfo() when running in Excel 2003. The function is using in a loop and it works fine for the first 4000 members.Does anyone know about this error? Thanks in advanceHenryEssbase 7.1.3.2Excel 2003Windows XP

Thanks for the reply...I have restarted the services..But still no go...
The issue is that I was able to stop the two instances...When I try to stop the third instance, I was getting these errors...I want to stop the services...
Platform is Sun Solaris 5.6.

    You could try the following
    1. From the Start menu, click Run.
    2. Type regedit and then click OK.
    3. In the Registry Editor window, click the following directory:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
    4. From the Edit menu, click New, DWORD Value.
    The new value appears in the list of parameters.
    5. Type MaxUserPort and then press Enter.
    Double-click MaxUserPort.
    6. In the Edit DWORD Value window, do the following:
    * Click Decimal.
    * Enter 65534.
    * Click OK.
    7. From the Edit menu, click New, DWORD Value.
    The new value appears in the list of parameters.
    8. Type TcpTimedWaitDelay and then press Enter.
    9. Double-click TcpTimedWaitDelay.
    10. In the Edit DWORD Value window, do the following:
    * Click Decimal.
    * Type 300
    * Click OK.
    11. Close the Registry Editor window.
    12. Reboot essbase server

    It is not new installation and worked well before.But recently can't login and retirive error emsg "1042006 - Network error [111"

    tried to restart essbase agent with opmnctl. it also occured error to start this component.
    checked ohs_component and got below error messages.

    Hi All,
    There are three essbase instances, two of them a working fine but the third one which is test instance produces an error when trying to stop the servcie for maintenence refering to: Error 1042006 - network error 145, unable to connect to local host.
    Made changes in the settings of NETDELAY and NETRETRYCOUNT Values to 1000 in .cfg file, but still no help.
    Any contributions ? Thanks in Advance.

  • Essbase Error 1042006 Network Error 111

    We are receiving the above errors, plus the text:
    The client timed out waiting to connect to the Essbase Agent using TCP/IP. Check your network connections. Also please make sure that Server and Port values are correct.
    ...whenever you attempt any form of connection to the essbase server, example in the Essbase Administration Services console and double click on the server to open the list of apps/databases it has. After our Redhat/Linux Essbase server became unresponsive to Essbase requests ( server was OK otherwise ).
    Everything else I've read points to a procedure to recover after an abnormal shutdown, but I cant find the procedure itself, can anybody help?

    Those seem to be when Essbase itself is up but one or more of your applicatopns of databases is corrupt.I agree, this sounds like a database is corrupt. Have you looked in the application log(s)? Are there .xcp files? What about Essbase.log?
    One thing of note, the same server is use to authenticate when you login, and that is all OK, just when you try and connect to Essbase element of the server.The good news is that Essbase works, as does Shared Services, and OpenLDAP. :)
    Can you load my Very Favorite Essbase Database In The Whole Wide World, i.e., Sample.Basic? If that loads, it sure sounds like you have specific database issues. This is your time to find out how good your IT department's backups work.

  • Workspace Error with Large Financial Report Book

    I have been having inconsistent issues getting certain FR books to run in Workspace with the only error I'm receiving being:
    +5200: Error executing query: EssbPROD/RE/RE/nholmes/Error(1042006)
    Network error [10048]: Unable to connect to [EssbPROD:1423]. The client timed out waiting to connect to Essbase Agent using TCP/IP. Check your network connections. Also make sure that server and port values are correct+
    The reason I say inconsistent is that sometimes the same books that give me errors run just fine with no problems.
    It has started to become an issue because it seems more and more that they will not run and they are being used for our month-end close so it's pretty important that they run when needed. Unfortunately I can't break up the report books because the accounting group wants to see them the way that they are now.
    I have tinkered with Report Optimization Settings with the FR client to find a combination that might make it work better but it always eventually comes back to this error even if it works after change the settings. I see no need and modifying the reports since I know they work because they work sometimes. I just need to know if it is possibly a memory setting somewhere that can be adjusted to make these report books run consistently.

    But, i am getting different errors in planning. As you suggested, i checked all the member formula. Its validating fine.

  • Unable to connect to Server  Error in Essbase 11.1.2

    We are working on Essbase 11.1.2.2. Our applications are in Production and suddenly the  some of the BSO Application are down. We tried to re start the applications but not restarted. So  we restarted the Essbase Hyperion Services in the Server.  Later after bringing the server online when we try to connect to the server we are getting the following Issue..
    Error: 103: Unexpected Essbase error 1030818
    Error: 1042006: Network error [10061]: Failed to connect to [gvw3086-v.

    But usually when we restart the services the server will be online and the applications will be started but now its showing above error. Can any one guide us on this. The server and port are correct but still we are facing this Issue.

    1.Check if your backend database or schema are running & try to connect your database or schema with the user id and password which is being for configuration
    2.Stop the essbase server
    3.Restart the essbase server
    4.Go to Task manager then see whether essbase.exe appear.
    5.if so then try to login into essbase server with your user id and password
    6.or else check  if the oracle process manager is getting starting and  for the below logs
    For eg
    d:\oracle\Middleware\user_projects\diagnostics\logs\OPMN\opmn\console~Essbase1~EssbaseAgent~AGENT~1.log

  • Unexpected Essbase error 1030818

    Hi All,
    I am able to login into EAS and when try to connect to Essbase server, i get the error:
    Error: 103: Unexpected Essbase error 1030818
    Error: 1042006: Network error [10013]: Failed to connect to [macinename:1423]
    Error: 1030818: Login failed. Please check if server and port are correct. If you received timeout or handshake failure, please check if you tried to connect to secure port without secure keyword or clear port with secure keyword.
    I checked the Essbase. log as well as Essbase_ODL.log. All seems good
    I checked the Essbase status and can see Essbase.exe running in process list. Similarly when I check OPMN status, I get EssbaseAgent is active.
    Probably, Essbase was shutdown abnormally when I directly shutdown my laptop without stopping the services.
    I also tried replacing Essbase.sec with Essbase.bak, Essbase.bak_preUPM , Essbase.bak_postUPM but get the same error.
    When i try to login using Maxl, I get the error:
    ERROR -     103 - Unexpected Essbase error 1051293.
    ERROR - 1051293 - Login fails due to invalid login credentials.

    Thanks. I was able to find out the solution for this.
    On replacing the Essbase security file, the credentials for admin user is no longer valid which i provided during installation. In that case the admin/password works.
    I was able to connect to essbase using EAS and then followed the following steps:
    1. Login to Shared Services and delete the EssbaseCluster -1 under Applications
    2. Externalize security from EAS to change it to shared services mode
    3. Restart the services once.
    It worked !!!

    hi,
    I am ale to login to EAS when I click on Essbase server: localhost, it says 'network error'.
    I am working with Hyperion 9.3.1 Essbase. OS is XP Sp3.
    I stoped and restart the services. manually started the Essbase.exe
    I uninstalled and install couple of times.
    Here is the log:

    OK, that's because it's already running (as a service, maybe?). You could shut stop the service / kill the Essbase.exe process first, then load it that way.
    But if you can connect via MaxL successfully it doesn't sound like that's really your problem - Essbase is clearly running. That said, stopping the service and launching manually might be worth a try if only so you can see if there's any activity in the Essbase.exe console window when you attempt to connect via EAS.
    Not that I have any clue why it would make a difference but have you also tried using machine name and / or 127.0.0.1 in place of localhost?
    1423 is the default port, incidentally, so it shouldn't be your problem.

    But found the issue still persists. Any suggestions would be of great help.

    So it's the unloading from memory of the database that causes the problem, yes?
    Have you tried:
    1) Unloading other databases -- just interactively, without the kill and logout commands? Do they error?
    2) Getting on the system at a quiet time and trying to unload the app/db?
    3) Trying to stop a different database after the kill and logout?
    4) Running a validate (whatever it's called in MaxL) on the db in question?
    My guess is that it's either a corrupt db or a corrupt essbase.sec (yeah, I know, not overly helpful) -- the above steps should help you determine which is the bad actor.

    Are the data source connection details correct for the report.
    Do any of the reports work against the essbase database.
    If other reports work then it may need a registry change to increase the ports.

    What version of MS Office do you have? Earlier versions of Office (2003 for example) is a bit buggy with System 11.

    I'm using essbase for the first time and i'm trying to add my essbase server into my administration console.
    It asks for the server name and the credentials.when i entrer the correct informations my analytic server can't be added and i catch the following error:

    I started all the servers (Administration,integration,shared,provider) and they're all well configured.

    Try starting Essbase in the foreground by typing "essbase" (without the quotes) in a command window.
    If there's an issue with Essbase starting then the error will give you a good idea of what's wrong.
