Preliminary Web search points to a disk error. Like corruption of some kind. Are you installing from CD? Do you have another CD to try?

Search your hard drive for your music - it should still be there, but perhaps this fresh install of iTunes just isn't seeing it.

You absolutely do NOT want to sync your iPhone with an empty iTunes library. It will erase everything. Apple only gives you one download and you need to make backups. I hope it is still on your PC! But at least you have it on your iPhone.
I don't think you synced your iPhone with your father's iTunes, or his music would be on it. Have a look in a folder named Previous iTunes Libraries. There might be an iTunes database ITL file in there that you can use.
They have names like "iTunes Library 2009-04-06.itl" which would be from April 6th, 2009.
Press and hold the shift key while starting iTunes, and when prompted, choose the most recent previous library. Does it show most of your music, and can you play some songs in iTunes OK?

An error occurred during installing OS X

I trusted the java form the government website so i installed it and my MacBook Pro crashed. It kept "thinking" and I can do nothing. So I erase the hard drive and reinstall the OS ML as indicated in the apple web site. After about an hour, it told me that "an error occurred during installing OS X" and keep thinking again. I am now stuck and don't know what to do, can anyone help me?

Error encountered when installing Acrobat Pro X in CS6 Master Collection

The "Documents" folder of my personal account is on D: drive. I followed your advice and tried using administrator, whose "Documents" folde is on the default c: drive, to log in and install the software ut the same errors were encountered.

Error 1935 During installing Acobat XI.

Greetings, while I was installing the Acrobat Pro XI after helps was given here. Now facing another problematic installation.
Upon the almost completed installation process, there popup an Error Box. It writes
"Error 1935, An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {76C3F0F6-9BD-35DA-81C6-CA8A88CC93CA}.
HRESULT: 0x800736FD."
Then it took crazily long time to unwrite the software from registry.....wasted many hours for repeating these processes.
I was given link to download the software directly from Adobe site, suspecting my DVD is damage. But the of problem persists.

Solution 1: Clear the transaction log.
If you receive a 1935 error when you try to install Acrobat or Reader, the Windows file system transaction log has become corrupted. The Windows file system uses the log to recover when a file error occurs. To correct this install error, clear the log.
Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow for the elevation prompt
In the command prompt, type the command below:
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter appropriately.
Restart the system.
Seems ok at first then the whole process repeated.
Ran the process as Admin in my PC at the cmd page.Should I get out of the environment to pure C:\ by using cd\ and set to only purely C:/ fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\ ?
Solution 2: Disable antispyware and antivirus software or remove adware or spyware from your computer and then install Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
Disable the following applications or types of applications, following any instructions provided by such software:
Disable Lavasoft Ad-Watch, Ad-Aware, or similar detection software before installation.
Disable WebRoot Spy Sweeper.
Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.
None of these program in my computer. (Norton disabled)

A certain type of adware running on the system can cause 1935 errors.
Start the Task Manager.
. Look at the Processes tab. Look for a process named wtoolsa.exe.

Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.
None of these program in my computer.

Getting error 1603 during install

I'm getting the following error during install of Acrobat Pro from the cloud:

Please use the Acrobat Cleaner tool (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs)
to remove the current and the older version of the software completely and then reinstall and check.

Error occurred during install of assembly policy 8.0.microsoft.vc80.CRT

I've been trying to upgrade to itunes 9 on windows vista system. During the install, it says "error occurred during installation of assembly policy 8.0.microsoft.vc80.CRT, version 8.0.50727.403 type win 32 policy public key token=1fc8b3b901e18e3bprocess architecture=x86 Quicktime installs OK, but Itunes install is interruped -- Apple Support install portion is rolled back after this error pops up. I went thru suggested Apple troubleshooting options, got same error. Ran install as administrator from desktop, also did not work. Tried installing both thru apple software updater and directly from Apple website -- still get error. I asked about this on Microsoft site, they sent me back here. thanks for any solutions.

flabud, here are the next steps that I would suggest.
1) If you haven't done so already, reenable McAfee. I'm guessing that you've already done that though.
2) Create a manual restore point. You can also do this after each of the following steps if they are successful but you don't have to necessarily do it each time. One restore point at the beginning should suffice.
3) Disable Windows Defender so that it no longer has possible conflicts with McAfee. McAfee put out this notice earlier this year because the combination of those two programs were causing problems and that notice describes how to disable WD. You should also uncheck Windows Defender using MSConfig (Startup tab) after disabling it as described in the notice. One of my systems had the exact error message described in the notice and since disabling WD it has encountered no further problems.
4) Check Programs and Features in Control Panel for the following programs and install using the associated links if they do not show up. Restart after each installation and then check to make sure the install was successful in Control Panel.
a) Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)
b) Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (if MS .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 already exists then do not install this)
{I added this because I had problems with this install at the time of the McAfee/WD conflict}
5) Run Windows Update and install any Important or Recommended updates. The installation of the programs in step 4 should allow the others to complete successfully but if any still fail make a note of them as you did before.
6) If everything completes successfully to this point then reattempt the installation of iTunes using the file that you have in the Downloads folder.
I've written the steps in the order that they should be done so if you run into a snag in any step let us know before proceeding to the next step.

NOKIA N8 bug: CRITICAL ERROR OCCURED DURING INSTAL...

i purchased my nokia N8 2 weeks ago, I found some annoyin bug on it. The Error message is this: "CRITICAL ERROR OCCURED DURING INSTALLATION. WIDGET REMOVED" Then all my customized homescreen has gone & it changes to the default home screen. It seems like if you have a lot of widgets & some of them are are connected online, the noka n8 is feeling exhausted It crushes when it cannot cope the memory exhaustion or somehow, i don't know. Any one knows about his? It happens to me many times, specially when i scroll sideways to different homescreen. It really makes me sick. I don't know if i have to leave the way the default screen is to get rid of that crush, coz i have done many times of changing. I have been a Nokia fan but this kind of bug is really fraustating.

It may be you have a faulty handset ? You can take it to a Nokia Care Point to have it checked out under the warranty. You could also try doing a reset and re-installing the software using Ovi suite before taking to a Care point.
Try backing up your contacts, calendar and note ONLY, dial *#7370# followed by 12345 and the phone will reset to 'out of the box'. Then use Ovi suite to re-install the latest firmware and then set up your phone and re-install any apps you want. Error 1603 when installing Acrobat XI Pro - no luck with any suggestions

Hi all - I have been trying to download Acrobat XI Pro via the Creative Cloud installer, but I'm getting the following message:
ERROR: Install MSI payload failed with error: 1603 - Fatal error during installation.
MSI Error message:
ERROR: Third party payload installer AcroPro.msi failed with exit code: 1603
I have successfully installed Photoshop and InDesign in the same way. I have tried the following suggestions from the Community:
Empty Temp folder
Re-register msiexec
Uninstall/Cleanup Tool/Reinstall
It gets to about 42% and fails every time. Any ideas?

Thanks Ned. I had already tried those suggestions. Our IT Ops Manager finally sorted this out by running the installer manually, rather than through the Creative Cloud installer. It was 'Adobe PDF Creation Add-On 11.0.01', which was not removed via the Cleaner Tool.
