ERROR 12004

I have read the other articles regarding this subject but none seem to work.
My short clips (5 mins max) are made in prem pro 2.0 using DV footage in a PAL 4:3 aspect project with just a dip to black at the start and end of the clips. Exported & encoded using the default preset but with 2 pass VBR & bitrate down from 7 to 6.5. (6.5 used after reading other posts about dvd player compatability).
I import them as assets and file them onto a timeline in encore with various chapter points, the overall timeline length is 1h 45m, there is one main menu and 3 scene menus (although i have had the same problem with a smaller project (6 clips in a timeline 1 main menu & 1 scene menu). There is no additional music or looping of any kind although i am using poster frames on all chapters.
last night i assembled all 17 clips onto one timeline in prem pro with dvd chapters, and exported with the same settings so that i can import as a single timeline to try and overcome encore getting upset about the amount of clips used. Will try this later today.
Does anybody have any ideas??

I turned off my firewall completely and everything started working immediately.... ?
At first I had tried as we all have, with various issues causing it, mine was doing the same thing without a reason I could figure out. After switching this and that, the firewall being the last one I turned off, and may or may not have anything to do with it. But then I logged into Apple to check the groups discussions, then tried homesharing and it started working. I have no idea why, but it started working..... still connected to Apple.
Hope someone else has the same success.

Getting error 12004 when trying to copy downloads to my iPod

This is totally weird. Last night I rented a movie and then I save it to my iPod and play it on the TV. Done this for a long time.
Now tonight, I rented two movies, when I tried to save them to my iPod I'd get a window that said something to the effect "unknown error (12004).
Anyone have any clues?
I'm thinking there's somekind of seasonal flu that the iTunes store has. Hope it will be fixed. But I'm just guessing.

don't know if this'll help but you can try deleting the iPod.plist and iPod.pkg files (move copies to a flash drive for safekeeping first).
restart iTunes, recreate your settings and try again.

Home Sharing error 12004

I am trying to set up home sharing from my Mac Pro Laptop to my 2nd generation Apple TV and I keep getting the error that itunes cannot sent up Home Office Sharing error 12004. Help Please

Upgraded Itunes and ATV2 and when trying to create Home Share connection in Itunes was initially getting incorrect password (which it was wasn't) and now the 12004 error.

Searching older posts, I found that this seems to be an issue on the Apple Server (globally) that was corrected within a day...maybe too many people with new Christmas presents?

Release Management error "The system cannot find the file specified"

We are getting the above error when deploying to a set of 4 servers (all belong to a tag). The deployment succeeds for 3/4 servers. For the server that fails, there is no tool or command output log to look at. We are able to log on to the
server in question and run the command manually (i.e. .\msiexec <filename.msi>) and that succeeds.
What can we do to troubleshoot this further?

Got an unknown error...need help

I received the "unknown error: -12004" when I build a DVD Folder and preview. Any help is appreciated.

This error could be caused by a corrupted AC3 file. Did you encode audio to AC3 outside of Encore? If so, try re-encoding it.
Try the same if you transcoded audio entirely in Encore (select the audio asset, then choose 'Revert to Original').

FrameMaker 12 won't startup

Hello,
I'm running FrameMaker 12 on Windows 7.
When I startup the program, I must select one of the follow three.(in 'Choose Interface' window.)
- FrameMaker
- Structured FrameMaker
- FrameMaker XML Author
Unfortunately, after clicking 'Structured FrameMaker' or 'FrameMaker XML Author', error is occurred.
Error message is follows.
- Internal Error 12004, 23459156, 23459450, 26389685. FrameMaker has detected a serious problem and must quit.
Please, I hope that I receive a good solution.

1. There was not admin privilege during installaiton process.
But, I can execute the FrameMaker.exe file as 'admin privilege'
- Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker12\FrameMaker.exe
2. I updated 12.0.2 version.
Despite the above two method. similar errror messge occurred.

Failed Build - Copy of Transcodes

I have a project that keeps giving me errors when trying to build. I have transcoded the files in that project already and I am wondering if I create a new project, can I bring over the transcodes from the failed project? Will it work? Do I only need the transcodes folder or are there other important files to copy over so Encore will recognized the files are transcoded? Thank you.

ICloud a train wreck so far?

I've had a MobileMe account forever, including an @me.com email address that I've always used for business. Today, I did the Move to iCloud thing and wound up with so many problems I don't even know where to begin listing them.
On icloud.com, the Mail icon demands that I set up a NEW @me.com email address. This, after specifically being assured that I would still have access to my MobileMe mail. So after updating and upgrading everything today, I do not have access to my MobileMe email account!
After installing iTunes 10.5 and the latest Apple TV firmware on two Apple TVs, Home Sharing is totally broken. It fails to connect to the iTunes Store's server from any device: Apple TV or Mac. Apple TV complains that the server is unavailable. iTunes on Mac hangs and then an hour later reports error 12004.
Somehow I wound up with two competing Apple IDs during the migration. One of them prompted me to combine the primary email address with the Apple ID itself, assuring me that "it would be easier to manage and make my life easier." LOL! But because they shared a common alternate email address, somehow they both broke. I spent hours today waiting for Apple Support to tell me that my issues needed to be escalated and that would take at least 48 hours to get back to me.
My Apple ID forever was just "Scenario", a nice, single word. Now that's suddenly unsupported. Depending on the app, I am now constantly forced to choose between entering [email protected] or [email protected], not knowing which one Apple prefers to display. I can sign in using me.com but Apple will display mac.com or vice versa depending on the service or product. I hate this! I think they are supposed to be interchangeable but the gal on Apple Support seemed to say mac.com is the official one even though only one of my devices is a Mac.
The appleid.apple.com site appears to be getting hammered today, since it often takes a dozen refreshes for a page to load. I wonder if millions of Apple customers are having the same sorts of issues today?
The iCloud System Preferences pane couldn't be any more confusing. If you Sign Out of your "iCloud" account, you get trapped in a series of scary and totally misleading alerts. Like, if you Sign Out, you're going to lose the data that was actually on your Mac from the very start. And I would like Apple to explain how, if you only get 5 GB of storage on iCloud for starters, you could lose all 32 GB of Documents "data" on your Mac if you merely sign out from an account that you haven't pushed any Documents up to?
Another gotcha for me is that I had already paid for an extra 20 GB of storage on MobileMe. But now that I have a new iCloud account, I only get 5 GB on the account iCloud wants me to use because those two Apple IDs can't be combined into a single one. If that were possible, Apple could avoid all of these nightmare scenarios. And I assume most of my troubles are because I have two Apple IDs and they got totally confused in the migration process.

I had exactly the same problem, but have resolved it. I am/was a mobileme user with 20gb storage until Jan 2012, extended to June 2012. When I went through the transfer process I believed I was forced to create a new email account once again (@me.com). I got the 5gb standard allowance. After setting everything up, it didn't seem right. I then followed the transfer process which didn't intially show up (possibly due to all the traffic on release day) This transferred everything over to my original mobileme @me.com account. This then showed that I had 20GB & 5GB storage. I merely deleted the new unused account and everything is working fine. I have a couple of unrelated issues though 1. Everything on itunes is set up on another email account (before I had a mobileme account) so I cannot photo stream to apple TV. Apple won't let you merge accounts. 2. iPhoto doesn't seem to like the new set up and crashes all the time. 3. Battery on iPhone 3gs is draining very quickly. 4. My 32GB iPad 2 and iPhone 16GB have already used 15gb of the allocated storage, therefore I will be paying for additional storage every year, albeit cheaper than mobileme. 5. I can still access iDisk and Gallery etc, but I have already taken down all my websites from iWeb to ensure I don't lose them when mobileme goes in June 2012.

HT4527 Getting error code 12004 when trying to setup home share on a new laptop. Can't find what it means.

My daughter received a new macbook pro for Christmas and is trying to turn on home sharing in itunes and it is giving her an error code 12004 but we cannot find what that means. Does anyone know where to find error codes and their definitions?

TS1424 Error Code 12004

I started to download two different TV shows and both of them stopped halfway and itunes gave me an Error code of 12004. Does anyone know how to get around this or start over?
