Error 13 on AppStore Lion 10.7.4

Hi.
I have an error on the appstore on lion 10.7.4 [error 13] that says that I can't download or update apps... How can I fix it?
I found an answer on the internet that says to delete a file named: com.apple.appstore.split that is in Cookies...
~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.split
I CANT FIND THE COOKIES FOLDER ANYWHERE!!!
I'm new on mac and I really need help.
Thanks!
Bar.

hi baraben0u i have ad the same problem as well. i talked to apple and we tried everything. first thing u need to do is get rid of any antivirus which you hacve got of the app store like iantivirus. the next thing u need to do is shut down the mac and switch is back on but hold thr r button and cmd button till the mac has swithced on. you the need to renstall the mac. click the second option. you must have wifi or use a lan cable. an cable is faster. dont worry all of your work or apps will stay on the mac. now agree with apple and renstall the soft ware. after about 17 hours if you use wifi it should have restarted and just login your mac open the app store and try to download somthing if it does not work the first time try it again and it should be fine. hope it works for u.

  • Time machine fails backing up with a "backup disk not found" error after upgrade to Lion 10.7.2

Time machine fails backing up with a "backup disk not found" error after upgrade to Lion 10.7.2. I've erased and reformatted the drive; reconnected Time Machine(it saw it) and began a new backup. The backup starts again but fails before completing with backup drive not found error. I used the 10.7.2 combo update. Any help on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
After waiting since October for a fix, I have now upgraded the firmware on the Time Capsule and installed the new Airport Utility, released yesterday, and the situation is even worse.
Up until now, the Airport Utility had an option to disconnect all drives manually and the Time Capsule would then work until the next reboot – a temporary (?) work-around.
Now that option does not exist in the new-look Airport Utility. And the Airport Utility installation can’t be rolled back and the old utility won’t restore.
The sparesbundle is still not accessible. Anyone worked out a work-around in the new environment yet?
I have another Time Machine backup working fine to a trusty old Lacie Drive so erased the one on my Time Capsule to see if that works. I have renamed the Capsule and the Time Capsule Drive.  But to build another full backup will take at least two days and I shall be away from tomorrow and am reluctant to leave the Capsule and computer up and running for a week. And I’ll bet the sparsbundle will still be nowhere to be found.
How can Apple screw up so badly when they are to become the richest company in the entire world and – soon – will have more cash in the bank than the entire United States? Can’t they afford someone who really can sort this out? Especially when a Firewire connected hard drive – my trusty and simple LaCie – works fine.
    Words, almost, fail me.

  • Itunes error -54 after mountain lion upgrade

Has anyone else suffered this error since upgrading from lion to mountain lion?

Sorry this is for another problem of MAMP not starting. I misunderstood your original query. Added another reply
Are your MAMP sites running on port 80? I had the same problem. Turns out it is due to default Apache running on port 80.

Try downloading it in safe mode. Hold the Shift key while your Mac is starting to start into safe mode, and then, open App Store > Purchases, and download Mountain Lion.

Reply to John Walker: My Error, I am running Lion

It would help if you could use the "Reply" button in your previous topic rather than start a new topic for a response to a previous post. I saw topic #2 where you were apparently replying to Klaus about your system version in topic #1, then this new topic #3 here where you are replying to John Walker's post in topic #2.

  • Appstore Lion Download Getting: 500 Internal server error!!

Really Really Sad now :'( I just want to install my LION and I keep getting this 500 internal server error, doesn't matter how many times I try...

I have installed Lion on my Macbook Pro with no problems (yesterday) and am currently installing on my Macbook Air (as I write this), yet the install on my Macmini keeps getting the 500 Internal Server Error message.
This is only my guess but I think the App Store server is overloaded at the moment and will clear you (and me) for download as it's able. The error message has nothing to do with your Macs.
    Patience will prevail I suspect.

Had the same problem with the new update. I finally got back to my previous version by using system restore. After the restore I had to go to the "All Programs" list and click on Quicktime and iTunes individually to allow them to re-configure, then had to restart the computer again. After that all's well. My lbrary was intact.
I tried everything to get the newest version to work, including completely uninstalling my current versions of QT and iTunes, then downloading the latest directly from the Apple website, but, after 3 attempts, nothing worked. Guess I'll have to wait for the next update and try again.
By the way, your library is not actually stored in iTunes--it is stored in your Music folder, so you should not lose anything by uninstalling iTunes if you need to.

  • Download error os x Mountain lion from app store

I am not able to upgrade to OS mountain i already have upgraded to the latest version of Lion and meet all the pre requestes for downloading OS X mountain. I incurred error " An error occurred" and i am stuck. Please someone guide me how can i download OS X mountain from app store

The error refers to your RAM, not your hard drive storage space (which is not called "memory.") Mountain Lion requires a minimum of 2 GBs of RAM. Most likely you have only 1 GB installed.

  • Why do I get error 1004 when reinstalling Lion?

I need to reinstall the OS on my iMac after corrupting the OS by changing my user folder name. Apple tech support asked me to partition the hard drive to a single partition and reinstall the OS.
So I rebooted holding down the command+option+r and accressed the recovery OS for Lion off the Internet. This took awhile. I then selected Disk Utility to create a single partion and then clicked on reinstall. It then asked for my Apple ID which I gave it and got the "Error 1004, retry again" message. But I keep getting the same error after going through this at least three times. Three senior Apple tech support people were not able to help get past the 1004 error and suggested I take the computer in to a retail location. bviously, I am trying to avoid doing this.
Is the 1004 error potentially caused by busy Apple servers?
I ran the hardware test and it came up with no problems. And there is no firewall or uitility inhibiting the Internet connection since I was able to download the installer under restore. And I just partitioned the internal HD that negates any software interference.
How do I solve this problem in the absence of an install USB drive or DVD installer>
    Thanks,
    Ted

Problem solved. I traced the problem to a flawed firmware update that was done by fios (Verizon) on their router automatically. It made the Internet connection unstable. So they reapplied the update from their remote computer and the Apple servers finally recognized my Apple ID. So the 1004 error reflected the problem. The Internet connection was stable enough to dowload the installer but not stable enough to approve the Apple ID.
This ressmebles hard to diagnose RAM issues.

  • Win7 Offline Files sync error after upgrade to Lion Server 10.7.2

Symptom: client is a Win7 laptop, the server is Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion Server with SMB and AFP shares. Win7 Offline Files stopped working after I upgraded Snow Leopard (non-server version) to Lion Server 10.7.2. After updating to 10.7.3, the problem persists. When syncing, it gives thounsands of error like this: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. WinXP clients are fine with the Offline Files function though.
I Googled and studied online for several days now and it might be related to the "Oppurtunistic Locking", or "Oplocks" for short, in the SMB protocol. Since Apple has re-written Samba, there's no "smb.conf" anymore to change the Oplocks setting. Maybe it's possible to change the setting in "com.apple.smb.server.plist"?
    From the Internet:
    1. Oplocks should be DISABLED on the server if there is any other file sharing protocol (AFP, etc.) other than SMB.
    2. Offline Files will NOT work properly if Oplocks is disabled on the server side.
    3. It was possible to config oplocks setting in smb.conf in Mac OS X versions prior to Lion but now there's no such config file.
    My Question:
    1. Does anyone else have similar problems?
    2. Is it related to the Oppurtunistic Locking thing?
    3. Is Oppurtunistic Locking enabled or disabled in Lion Server by default?
    4. If it's related to Oplocks, how can I change the setting on the server?
    5. I've noticed that the authentication from Windows PCs to the SMB share on the Lion Server is much slower then in SL. Could this somehow be related to my problem?
    Thanks for your time! :-D

Any luck getting the info on SMBX parameters like OPLOCKS ? This is apparently causing an issue with Autodesk Revit. I am resorting to installing SMBUP.
There is an article that describes this method for altering the Lion smbd configuration parameters for honoring ACLs:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.smb.server AclsEnabled -bool NO
    from this article
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4149

  • Anyone getting this pop up error message after installing Lion?

After installing Lion I now get random pop up error messages that say...There was a problem connecting to the server. URL's with the type "file" are not supported. I have to keep closing them. Any ideas what to do?

Actually, In my case, turning off Time Machine didn't help. I had the same problem. We definitely traced it to Time Machine. The "Fix" was this: plugged in and designated different external HD as Backup volume. Then unplugged it and plugged in the original disc (after testing in in a different machine) and now the computer recognized it and error message stopped popping up. The Apple tech was as puzzled as I as to why this worked, but perhaps, forcing the machine to re-recognize it (or maybe even gettting it recognized by a different machine first) somehow worked some magic.

Since upgrading to Lion on my iMac, I keep getting the following Pop up image error message.  Translated in English it reads:  The connexion to the server has failed.  URL type files are not recognised.
Curiously enough, I upgraded my iBook with Lion also ... and I don't get this problem at all !  It does not cause any trouble, everything is working, BUT it is a Royal pain, as I have to click on OK twice to shut it down and it comes back up again every 10-15 minutes !!  Can someone help ?  Thank you.
