Error 13014 cannot open itunes
I recently updated my iTunes to iTunes 10.2 for Windows (64-bit). Everytime I try to open iTunes I get an error message saying: "The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (13014)."
I looked in previous threads and they said delete the genius folder, I did but, it still doesn't open.
Any ideas on how to fix this because it is frustrating as I can't update my iPod.
I understand your frustration, Ive had this problem for weeks. Finally found something that solved my problem.
I have Immunet installed and the following site forum had the answer:
http://forum.immunet.com/index.php?/topic/718-itunes-ver-10-64-bit/
I have Windows 7 64bit, following all previous recommedations to delete the genius files, reinstalling itunes and rebooting the pc never solved my problem.
Peace.

Still unable to download itunes to my pc. Tried with IE, Mozilla and Google Chrome. Keep getting an error message :"Windows cannot open itunes.exe the file is corrupt contact support."previous itunes files were wipped out by "disk cleaner." Any help??
Please!
Thanks! If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem. -
i bought an eBook from iTunes. I can view/read it perfectly on my iPhone but when I try to open the eBook file on my iPad, I get the error message, "Cannot open book. This book is protected by an incompatible technology." Any ideas for me? thx
Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have seen previous versions mentioned in a pop up message before on iCloud.com, but I'm not really sure at all how it would help, as I couldn't get it to do anything.
The best advice I have at this time is to back up your work on your iOS device by regularly saving it to iTunes, if anything goes wrong you can then either load it into the numbers app again on the device or recover it via iTunes on your computer.
My syncs are immediate, I never get chance to see if it works in the background, sorry. -
I downloaded the latest version of iTunes on my PC. Now I cannot open iTunes. I receive the following error message: "The procedure entry point AVCFAssetCreateWithByteStreamAndOptions could not be located in the dynamic link library AVfoundationCF.dll" After pressing the "OK" button I receive a second error message: 'iTunes not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)". I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled to no avail. I've also eliminated the temp files (per suggestions on the trouble-shooting page) and no luck. I also tried system restore and that did not fix the problem. Any thougths on a repair?
Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

The reason why I ask, is because I have another laptop which I then installed iTunes on (this was to overcome the issue of the error message and reduce the risk of losing my music etc. on my first laptop). I cannot see any of my music on the second laptop, even when I attach my iPod. I authorised the second laptop to link but as I cannot open iTunes on my first laptop, I cannot access my music. I'm assuming iTunes accounts are only stored on individual laptops/PCs and cannot be accessed remotely?? Or am I doing something wrong? I'm not sure what I can do.
Your iTunes library, media, playlists, and iOS device backups are safe. Please visitTroubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details. The steps in the second box should get iTunes back on track.
I don't make any use of the homesharing feature so I can't really comment on it, but if you want to change which computer you use to manage your devices see this migrate iTunes library post.

Error: Cannot open itunes multiple users
I tried to open itunes and got the error message "Cannot open the application "iTunes" because another user has it open." However, there is only 1 itunes user on my computer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes and it worked once, but now it won't even let me install itunes. It's telling me that itunes is already being used on my computer, which it's not because it's not even installed! Someone please please help!
I had to open the iTunes .exe file in compatability mode with the windows 08/ windows ME option. I'm almost sure it's a software problem with the new version of itunes (~10.5)

I cannot open itunes on my computer i have re installed and get msvcr80.dill error
i cannot open itunes iget a error msvcr 80.dill after reinstalling itunes and cannot sync i phone or i pad
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I have removed all spyware, anti virus software and removed all iTunes programs - as suggested by Apple. I still cannot open iTunes on my PC because of the message "you do not have permission to open this file, folder"
I have changed and checked all permissions to allow this but still get the same message.
