Error 13019 when trying to sync my Ipod Touch 3rd generation

For the past two days, I have not been able to sync music unto my Ipod. It started when I tried to sync two new albums onto my Ipod, but one album would not sync (the other album did). Every time I tried to sync it, an "unknown error 13019" popped up. I am aware of the steps Apple has on fixing this error, and have tried all of them to no avail. When I removed all of my music from my IPod, then tried to sync all of it back onto it, NONE of my music would go back on! My apps sync fine, my actual IPod seems to be working fine...it just does not have any music on it. After around 8 or 9 times of attempting to sync it, reinstalling Itunes, etc., I am ready to throw both my IPod and my laptop across the room. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks in advance!

I'm with ya. I'm having the same problems and have tried the same solutions. Now I'm using the itouch as a paper weight. Works so-so kinda like what I have been dealing with the past month or so with this error issue. What I have learned to do in the past is to noit update to the new software because with the older ipods, itouches it does not seem to support the new updates very well. I'm sure this doesn't help but I share your frustrations in this matter. At least my iphone works. Oh, I better go check it just in case that crashed on me as well. Not in a good mood right now. Someone on this site has the answer and I'm sure I'm missing something really simple. Just shedding a little ray of hope.

If the file was not originally from iTunes, you'll need to redownload it from it's original source or rerip it from the CD.  Files can sometimes go bad and become corrupted.  As to how or why that happens, there are a number of ways.

  • I receive the follwing error message when trying to open my ipod touch/itunes "the itunes libary.itlfile is lockedon  a lockdisk or you do not have write permission on this file. How do I resolve this problem?

I receive the follwing error message when trying to open my ipod touch/itunes "the itunes libary.itlfile is lockedon  a lockdisk or you do not have write permission on this file. How do I resolve this problem?

    Repair iTunes Security Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Securitytab and click Advanced. Use the Change Permissions... button grant to your account (or the Users group) and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to Replace permissions entries... which will repair permissions throughout the library. When complete switch to the General tab, click in the Read-only check box to clear it, then click Apply.
If you don't have the option to change the permissions then use the Owner tab and Edit... button to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges. Tick the option to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.
Repeat with the media folder if it isn't stored inside the main iTunes folder.
If you've brought over the library from another computer you may also want to remove any "mystery" identities (S<string of dashes & digts>) that have come over from the old computer...
The images above are from Windows 7. Hopefully the system isn't too different in Windows 8.

  • I'm getting the apparently "deadly" error 3149 when trying to restore my Ipod Touch 4g

A few days ago I tried to update my Ipod Touch (4th Generation) to the newest software. I pressed update and the apple logo with a loading bar underneath it appeared then the bar got about halfway and all of the sudden went into recovery mode. I followed some steps online to get it out of recovery mode, didn't work. So then I decided to just restore it. I tried restoring directly from Itunes but Itunes never finished the download (tried 3 times). Each time it gave me a different error. So I downloaded the 0.6.1 firmware online (*though it was a 840mb download and the file only says it's 839mb, weird)and tried using the Shift + Restore method. It extracted it then said "Verifying" then gave me the error 3149. I went online, yet again and followed some steps dealing with the "Hosts" file. No luck. I've also tried putting it in DFU mode, no luck.
I should also mentioned that my Ipod is Jailbroken. It was given to me like that when I got it for my B-Day. I never use anything with Cidia or whatever so I think Jailbreaking is pretty useless but I think this is worth mentioning because it could be what's causing the problem, but I don't know if it has anything to with it for sure. I've been told that restoring it will get rid of the stupid Jailbreak but I can't restore it now can I?
Please give me some advice, any advice that I haven't tried already would be helpful. I just want to actually use my Ipod! Why's it so hard to do things?!?
Also, no idea what operating system it was before the craziness happened. I can't check right now either. :/

    Did you mean 3194

  • Error 13019 when trying to sync music on iPod nano

I've had my iPod nano for over a year, and just a few days ago, it has started to show me this error message
whenever I try to add or remove music from my iPod.. Althought I've looked and it seems to be a somewhat common problem among Apple users, the instructions many have posted and the instructions in the Apple support section are not help to me. According to Apple support, to fix this problem you must:
Select the device name  in iTunes under Devices.
Click the Music tab and under the Sync music option, choose Selected playlists.
    Deselect the Voice Memos playlist.
Click Apply and then click Sync.
However, I do not have the "sync music" option checked,
and I control my music manually. By checking this box and re-syncing my iPod, I would lose a lot of  the music on my iPod already. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong section?
Does any one have another option or any ideas?

Some have been able to resolve it by removing podcasts and/or rebuilding their iTunes library.

  • Error 13019 when trying to sync after upgrading to 4.0

I just upgraded my 32gb iPod Touch to the 4.0 OS, and now every time I try to sync it says my iPod "cannot be synced. An unknown error has occurred (13019)." I tried restarting it and resetting it from a backup. What do I do now?

Hi! I just had the same problem with my 2nd gen iPod touch. It is actaully really easy to fix this problem.
    - When the iPod is connected to iTunes click on iPod icon to see its settings
    - choose the tab music and than choose to unsync music and confirm this setting in the right bottom of the screen.
    - The next step is to unconnect the iPod, than you reconnect it to iTunes and choose to sync music in the iPod setting.
The music should now sync and the problem is hopefully solved.
    good luck

  • HT201210 am getting an ''unknown error (1)'' when trying to restore my iPod touch, what is the solution

I restored my ipod touch (old version, silver back cover) but after erasing all the memory in it, Itunes showed me an error message ......The Ipod ''Ipod'' could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1)....What is the problem or how can I resolve this error?? please assist!!

This usually indicates a hardware problem.
    Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
