Error 1305. installation issue
Hi All
I have been trying to download acrobat reader from past 2 weeks, i have no idea what happened to my old one which was installed already on my computer. it is running on vista. I can download through direct link but when i try to install it says error 1305, file cannot be found, or something similar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Anand
So what was wrong actually, was it a permission issue after all?
It could be any one of a million things (literally).
Here's a handy tool I have for curing this permanently.
Download this zip file (take_ownership.zip)
Unzip it and double click the .reg file it contains.
Click "Yes" and "OK" when it runs.
It will modify your registry so YOU can take "root level" administrator control over ANY file or folder on your system with a simple right click, and a choice of "Take Ownership".
You should use it for the ProgramData folder and I recommend the Program Files as well as WIndows folders too.

Regarding to the blue screen, I sugegst you keep Windows up-to-date, install latest drivers, if this doesn't help, please upload the latest dump files to a public location like OneDrive, then paste the downlaod link here for further analysis. (default location:
%SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP or minidump)

AnyConnect installation issues - Network Adapter is not created - cannot find any error?
I am a contractor with a Federal Agency that just swithed to using Cisco AnyConnect for VPN access. I am about the only person with this installation issue, that I know of. When installing the AnyConnect client on a Windows 7 machine running a 3.X msi install - the expected Cisco NewWork Adapter is not created in Network connections as I would expect. I have turned off Firewall services, I've turned off SQL services, Citrix, etc. But nothing I have tried allows this to install correctly.
When I attempt to use the AnyConnect VPN client and login the the remote service - I receive the
The VPN client driver has encountered an problem. Please restart your computer or device, then try again.
I have attempted the driver database fix suggested online - BUT it didn't correct the problem because I think my problem is in the initial setup, although I cannot find and error in the Windows/inf/setupapi.app.log and setupapi.dev.log that would suggest there is an driver problem.
The DART logs are a bit cryptic, but nothing stands out that would give me any idea as to what might be blocking the creating of the Network adapter the VPN Client would use to connect to the remote network.
Can anyone here point me in the right direction - I am not receiving help from configuration management - their solution is to format my entire computer and rebuild it which will cost me weeks of time and I have a deadline looming in Feburary.
Thank you!

Installation Errors (1305, 1603)
I read up on the first error listed in the topic subject (1305), but the only thread I really found that was relevant didn't really help me...
I was prompted when I started up Itunes to upgrade to the latest version, so I pressed the button and downloaded it. The file was fine (and I've tried downloading multiple times, and then in safe mode as well), but it gets hung up when it tries to locate the "c://program files/iTunes/iTunes.exe" file.
Error 1305: verify that files exists and you can access it
It then prompted for a "retry" option, which I followed multiple times until the loading bar said it was completed (but, it never finished the install). So, I tried it multiple times in multiple suggestions areas that are listed within some of your other suggestion threads, and I was gifted with this error twice-
Error 1603: fatal error during installation.
Consult windows installer help (msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.
Any ideas as to what this is? I tried disconnecting my Ipod during the install, and that had no effect on it either. I seem to have either exhausted my efforts, or this problem is more than merely something I'm doing. I've read through most of the knowledge bases you have here, and tried (knew most of it, too) the simplistic suggestions as to how to solve this problem. My computer is updated with the latest version of Win XP, service pack 2, and I've run all available spyware and temp cleaning agents I have.
If you want more information, or more specs, then please feel free to ask. I just really want to get Itunes running again... :/
Thanks for any help. It's greatly appreciated.Firstly, thanks for trying to help.
Secondly, I've (1) already seen the links and tried everything within them, (2) had iTunes on this computer before (so I assume that it's a software problem, and not a hardware problem). Also, for mention, I have a 40 gig Ipod, not a shuffle.
Again, thanks for the information, but I've already tried it before you mentioned it. I thought I had clearly pointed out that I had done that beforehand in my first post.
Would anyone have any other suggestions that are more specific to this problem? I guess I'll downgrade onto an older version of Itunes until you guys get the bugs out of this version... Disappointing, in the least, I must say... :/ -
Error 1305 when installing LabVIEW 7.1 app built with app builder
I have built an executable with installer from LabVIEW 7.1 app builder. The app installs/works fine, however 1 user reported 'Error 1305' when installing the app from a DOS subset on a WinXP machine. For example, a virtual drive is created using the DOS 'subst' command (see http://www.easydos.com/subst.html for more info), e.g. 'subst z: c:\temp'. Now when running z:\setup.exe, the error 1305 is encountered. If the same app is run from c:, e.g. 'c:\temp\setup.exe', it works fine. Is this a bug in the installer, or in the OS...?
Greetings,
This is an architectural issue with the Microsoft Windows Installer and Windows, and will occur with any MSI (not just those from the app builder). Under XP, a MSI cannot install from OR install to a location created by the "subst" command. My understanding of why is that installSequence runs in the context of the MSI engine, which is running as "system" user. But the subst command is a per-user setting (local to your account) so the MSI engine doesn't see it.
The only workaround is to run the MSI from a non-subst drive, or instead use network file shares (you can simulate what "subst" does by mounting an exported file share from the same machine).

I can't get Ipod updated to load properly. I keep getting error 1305 and when I go to I-tunes, I don't get the options menu which allows me to control my Ipod.
How can I fix this problem.The 1305 error is probably caused by a bad intallation CD, rather than an InstallShield error as some other discussons have suggested. At least this was the case I experienced yesterday when helping a friend resolve the 1305 error. After encountering the 1305 error, we attempted to copy the entire CD to a temporary directory on the C: drive, but the copying operation terminated with a CRC (Cyclical Redundancy Check) error message -- this indicates a problem either with the CD itself or with the computer hardware. Physically cleaning the CD surface did not resolve the issue and the DVD/CD drive had not had problems with any other DVDs/CDs.
The solution was to download iTunes and the iPod Updater from the Apple site and discard the installation CD. -
Installation issue on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Hello,
Machine info : 2 GB RAM 80+160 GB PATA Hard disk P4 32 bit architecture
OS : Fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Oracle: 11gR2
With above details i am installaing Oracle 11gR2 on this machine. I have completed all the pre-installation task and i ignored all when it prompts for required packages :
make-3.80
binutils-2.15.92.0.2
gcc-3.4.6
libaio-0.3.105
glibc-2.3.4-2.41
compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3
elfutils-libelf-devel-0.97

libstdc++-devel-3.4.6
sysstat-5.0.5
unixODBC-2.2.11
unixODBC-devel-2.2.11
pdksh-5.2.14
I ignored all these required packages, because when i check in system; ubuntu has installed its higher numberred versions. Installation worked upto 69% and now it is showing :

INFO: /app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/lib//libagtsh.so: undefined reference to `nnfyboot'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit statusThis error could be due to using newer versions of software. Backwards compatibility is not always guaranteed.
The libagtsh.so refers to an external procedure/function call nfyboot - this should be resolved by the dynamic link loader. It should load the shared object (.so or DLL in Windows-speak) that contains the implementation of that proc. Only, this fails and it cannot resolve the external call made by libagtsh.so to this proc.
To troubleshoot this you can use the ldd command to see what the external references of a .so is and whether these can be resolved. E.g. Oracle XE on Ubuntu.
oracle:/usr/lib/oracle/xe> ldd $ORACLE_HOME/lib/libagtsh.so
linux-gate.so.1 => (0xb7ff2000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libdl.so.2 (0xb7c71000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libm.so.6 (0xb7c4b000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7c31000)
libnsl.so.1 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libnsl.so.1 (0xb7c18000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7ab5000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7ff3000)There could be a missing .so - it could use a newer .so that no longer implements that proc call. This could require installing using backwards compatibility packages via apt-get.
So it will require some troubleshooting on your part.
Just keep in mind though that this is (as yet) an uncertified distro - only XE installs out-of-the-box on it. Canonical wants to change this and become a certified o/s for Oracle I believe... which would be great as it is one of the better Debian distros IMO. -
Lightroom 4.2 Installation Issue
Leaving this around in case anyone else has the same problem -- Solution found -- Windows installer issues / registry issues -- used the Microsoft Fix it tool (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651#reso3) to correct. 4.2 install ran fine.
I've read through the posts in the Lightroom forum regarding LR 4.2 install issues. I will list here the things I've done to try to get the install to work:
1) Downloaded the installation software twice.
2) Ran the setup program in admin user mode.
3) Ran the install in admin user mode.
4) Get the following error in a Windows Installer window:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi' in the box below.
Use source:
c:\Users\RMJF\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}
What I have found (after displaying hidden AppData folder):
The location where the .msi file resides is different from the one defaulting in the above window.
I select this alternate path, but still cannot complete the installation.
Furthermore, when I cancel the install, I get this error:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 64-bit Installer Info
Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 4.2 64-bit cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group
I have been running LR since the beginning of time and most recently LR 4.1, so there is no 4.2 installed.
Also, I tried to fix the install of 4.1 via the programs in Control Panel. I cannot repair it and get this error:
The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.
All versions (except the 1.0 version) were downloaded and installed from the Adobe LR site.
So, looking for suggestions.
Seems like there are some missing files from the 4.1 version that are hindering the install of 4.2???
All quite frustrating. Hope you can get me to a speedy solution.
(System info: Windows Vista 64-bit Home, SP 2, 20 GB of disk space to spare! Also, I have set the install program to be allowed by the anti-virus program. I have run a registry clean-up, as well. No other apps are running during the install.)
Message was edited by: marzo19untill now, 3 phones later, and mayby 10 attemps later to install it: notting. the errors that i am gething are the same as above, but nothing helps for me.
even the microsoft fixid diden't help.

Error 1305 while installing Crystal Reports 2008, JavaSDK
While installing Crystal Reports from the original media on a new Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows XP Pro SP3 I get the following error while installing:
Error 1305: Error reading from File: c:\program files\Business Objects\javasdk\jre\audio\soundbank.gm. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
I have the option to retry or cancel, obviously cancel exits the installer. Retry just fails again. I have tried to access the file (which does exist) and I cannot because it is in use. I used Sysinternals process explorer to find out what has the file in use and it is msiexec.exe which is the Microsoft Installer service which is running in order to install CR2008.
I have tried restarting, setting permissions on the file and folder, uninstalling and reinstalling Java VM from Sun. I even tried killing msiexec (which killed the install). I even tried taking out all reference to java in a custom install.
I am at a loss on what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.
-MichaelI found that if I installed it from a copied local directory instead of the CD Rom that it worked

Installation issue on opensuse 11
Hey All,<br /><br />Im a Windows guy still struggling with Linux set-upsso take it easy on me! :) and Im having a hard time getting blaze installed and running.<br /><br />This is what Ive done so far. I've successfully set-up the latest copy of openSuse11 64 bit version with: <br /> Tomcat 6.0.16 (Tested and running)<br /> ANT 1.7<br /> JAVA SDK & JDK 6<br /> Junit (ant-junit, junit, junit-javadoc, junit-manual, libcppunit-1_12-0)<br /> Downloaded both blazeds.war and blazeds_src_3-0-0-544.zip<br /> From Tomcat Manager I uploaded the blazeds.war file successfully.<br /> I unzipped the zip file into root/blazeds and from a command prompt ran ant. These are the errors Im getting:<br /> * [taskdef] Could no load definitions from resource net/sf/antcontrib/antcontrib.properties. It could not be found. (Repeats about a dozen times)<br /> * BUILD FAILED<br /> * /root/blazeds/build.xml:445: The following error occurred while executing this line:<br /> * /root/blazeds/resources/fds-ajax-bridge/build.xml:52 Problem: failed to create task or type if Cause: The name is undefined.<br /> * Action: Check the spelling<br /> * Action: Check that any custom tasks/types have been declared<br /> * Action: Check that any <presetdef>/<mac rodef> declarations have taken place.<br /><br />Variables:<br />env | grep _HOME<br /><br />ANT_HOME = /usr/share/ant<br />JRE_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre<br />JAVA_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre<br />SDK_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre<br />JDK_HOME =/usr/lib64/jvm/java/jre<br /><br />Any ideas?<br />Brad
Hi Alex,
Sorry I've been away and just got back. Presently I'm working from jrun4 and would like to use blazeds instead. Once my projects get going I would need the ability to use my customers already made linux/tomcat boxes and just plug in blaze.
I look forward to your answer.

Are you just trying to install and run BlazeDS? Why do you need to build from source?

Adobe cs5 Production premium installation issues on Windows 7
Hello
New Hardisk.
New Bios,
New windows 7 Ulitimate
Up to date windows 7 updates
Installing cs5 as administrator
Installation stops on Disk 2 exactly at 76% . Tried twice and the same case.
CPU goes up to 100% Memory 29%
Tested the Hard disk fine. New 300gb 10krpm Velociraptor.
What is the issue? No errors just installation hangs and freezes the whole system. I had to do a reset the system.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks,
HariI tried installing on my laptop which had Adobe CS4 on Windows 7 64 bit.
The dvds are good. It installed without a glitch. I didn't have to disable services or cleanup anything.
Now i can scrub thru my RED footage so fat it feels like knife on a butter.
But my desktop is still having issues. I cleaned up using CS5 cleanup script. and ran as administrator.
Now i am going to cleanup again and disable all the services and try once more. If it doesn't work, i am calling the support tomorrow.
Thank you Bob and Matt for the suggestions. -
Forms 10g Installation issue on windows 7 Professional service pack 1
hi
I am trying to install oracle forms 10g 64 bit windows 7 Professional service pack 1 ..
Below are 2 files that i am using ..
ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1.zip (626,122,752 bytes)
ds_windows_x86_101202_disk2.zip (236,880,881 bytes)
But it failed but the error is ..
Checking operating system version: must be 4.0, 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2. Actual 6.1 Failed <<<<
just wondering if there are any workaround ..Christian is right - Forms 10g R2 (version 10.1.2.0.2) is not certified for installation on Windows 7. You must apply a Forms 10g R2 patch to bring the version to 10.1.2.3.0 for it to be certified. You must have a My Oracle Support account to obtain the patch.
Now, to your question - is there a workaround; the answer is yes. There are known issues with this installer. I'll list them and their workaround.
1. The Oracle installer checks for a specific set of Windows versions rather than check for a minimum Windows version.
Workaround: Right-click the Installer and select Properties. Click the Compatibility tab and click the checkbox: Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP SP3).
2. The Oracle Installer can't detect Windows Managed Virtual Memory (VM).
Workaround: You must temporarily change the Virtual Memory settings and specify specific Initial and Maximum sizes. See this Microsoft article for more information on changing VM settings. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory
This change will require you to restart your computer. After you have successfully installed Oracle Forms 10g, you can restore the original VM settings.
3. The Oracle installer MUST be installed as an "Administrator".
Workaround: Windows 7 uses "Least privileged user" so you must right-click the Installer and select the Compatibility tab. Click the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox.
4. Not a Oracle installer issue, but you will have to install the 32-bit version of the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (1.6.0 - not 1.7.0) because Oracle Forms is a 32-bit application so it will not be able to use the 64-bit JRE.
Run the Oracle installer and it should now install succesfully.
