Error 1311 when downloading new iTunes

Everytime I tried to download a new song, or even transfer songs from one computer to another, the computer said I had to update my iTunes. So I tried to, and everytime I do, it gets pretty far then says :Error 1311 File not found ( see the picture below) The bad thing is, it has deleted my old version, it got that far into the process. How can I fix this??

  • Error occur when download new version of Air application

    Hi All,
Error occur when download new version of Air application.
    the error is given below
"There was an error downloading the update. Error# 16824"
    Please help me
    Regards,
    Abhilash S

If on windows, take a look at the following file to see what's going on:
    c:\Document and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\logs\Install.log
    Common issues:
The version number specified in the application.xml file of the download is not the same as the value specified in the update.xml file.
The application ID of the new file is not the same as that in the old file.
At any rate, the probable in most probably due to an invalid value in the application descriptor file.

  • Problems with Quicktime when downloading new iTunes

I was trying to burn an audio CD from an iTunes playlist, and kept getting error message. So I went to the Apple site to download the newest version of iTunes, to see if that would help. I got the file (iTunes75Setup) downloaded. When I opened it to install iTunes, however, it proceeded into the installing of Quicktime, and partway through it gave me an error message (error # 2738) saying the installation of Quicktime failed, and Quicktime is needed for iTunes functions, so I should try installation again later. I tried a few times and got the same error.
The thing that confuses me, I already HAVE Quicktime installed on my computer separately, and working just fine. (Version 7.1.5) So why do I need to re-install it with iTunes? (Particularly since it seems to be the part of the process that is causing problems.)
Does anyone know how to fix this error, or if there is a way to upgrade to the new iTunes without requiring a re-installation of Quicktime? Thanks!

I am having this same type of problem. When I try to open the new iTunes it says there is a Quicktime error (it cannot initialize). I've tried uninstalling both iTunes and Quicktime and reinstalled them without any luck. Does anyone know how to fix this??

  • Error message when downloading newest itunes

I am getting this message at the end of download of iTunes "*Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\etc\zoneinfo\America\Rankin_inlet"*
If I go to that library I try to make it so it isn't read only but it remains that way way when I look back in the file. Can remove my files to a different destination and then remove itunes and start over? Anyone with the best possible solution. As I hit the retry message when this error comes up, but then it still has the error. So I hit cancel and it rolls back the installation. Help please!!!

I'm getting an error message "error writing to file, verify that you have access to that directory"
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Error -3150 when downloading from iTunes Store

For the past several days since upgrading to iT8, when I've tried to download files from iTunes, it has errored out at some point of the download with error -3150. I got this error when downloading a 9MB podcast file, and also a 1.64GB HD tv show.
When I got it on the podcast, it reset all of the file's progress and started over. Thankfully, it did not do it with the TV show (which was 999MB through) or I would have been considerably more upset, but it did waste all the time I was using to download it. ADSL is terrible in the country I'm currently staying in, but it's all that's available to me.
In any case, I have not seen any mention of this error anywhere, and would appreciate knowing what it means, and more importantly, what Apple is doing about it.

Well, I guess that will have to do. Thanks for the heads up. It is a DSL connection, and there's not much that I can do about intermittent connections because cable/satellite is literally nonexistant in this country. However, Apple might want to consider revamping their file transfer protocols if this is going to be a standard problem - this would be in their best interest especially since they're going to be releasing the iPhone all over the world, and very few places have Internet speeds like USA and East Asia.

  • Continuing to get error message when downloading new OS

Trying to download the iTunes update 10.0.5 and an error message continues to pop up. The error message reads, "An error has occured while downloading the updates. (102)." How can I fix this and successfully download the update?

It appears Apple’s download servers are ‘overwhelmed’ today.  I couldn’t download the newest iTunes update or IOS 7 and there are a lot of discussions today about not being able to download. One poster said they had chatted with App Store support who confirmed the problem. This link worked for me.

  • Error 1406 1402 when downloading new iTunes

Each time I attempt to download the new version of iTunes, it says I have an error 1406 or 1402. I have received instructions previously for this problem because this has happened before, but now they are failing to work. These are the directions I have:
    For install error code 1406 & 1402:
    Try the following:
Start menu -> Run. Type in "regedit" (this takes you to the Registry Editor)
Find the heading HKEYLOCALMACHINE. Click on it.
Find the heading SOFTWARE inside it. Click on it.
    Find the heading Classes. Click
    Find the heading .cdda. Click
    Find the heading OpenWithList. Click
Right-click on "OpenWithList" folder. Select Permissions. Select Add button. Select the Advanced button. Select "Find Now" button.
The "Find Now" button should list all of the users, Select the "Everyone" user. Hit OK. This closes this dialog. Hit OK in the dialog box now on top. This closes this dialog.
On the Permissions for OpenWithList box now on top, select "allow" checkbox in the "full control" row & hit OK.
Do the exact same thing for the OpenWithProgids folder. Close regedit and try the install again.
Are there any suggestions besides these directions that could possibly help me successfully download iTunes?

  • Error 50 when downloading from itunes and cant get purchases downloaded but i am charged for them

I used a redeem code and it downloaded the extras but the movie portion that appears to be a separate app states error-50 and will not download. I cannot delete the error file nor can I use the redeem code (one time use) to try downloading again.

Temporary fix:  I am having the same problem, have been for months.  I get sporadic results, sometimes I can download, sometimes not.  You need to delete the download from the Downloads section in iTunes, then find your Downloads folder under Users folder (a few folders deep) and delete the folder for the item that failed.  Then go back to iTunes and check for new downloads, which causes the download to start over.
Permanent fix: What I've come to understand is that iTunes does not like NTFS formatted hard drives.  I am downloading to a FAT32 formatted thumb drive and it is working flawlessly.  The way iTunes downloads a file is archaic to say the least.  It creates a file container the size of the file being downloaded, then downloads it in one long stream to the hard drive.  When the incompatibility arises with NTFS, the download fails and the files have to be deleted to start over.  In a day and age when we have p2p technology and Apple can't fix a simple download compatibility issue.  It's sad.  My advice... get an external hard drive, format it for FAT32 and redirect your downloads to that (under Edit, Preferences, Advanced).  You should be fine.

  • TS3694 error -39 leads to error -50 when downloading from itunes store and the download will not resume

I download a TV Show from itunes and usually as soon as it begins, it tells me that my TV Show is ready to watch and I can choose to "Play TV Show Now" or "Watch Later." I choose Play TV Show Now. Then after about 20 seconds of watching, and error message comes up with the error code -39. The download stopped and when I resume, it will download for 5 more seconds but then I get another error message with the code -50. I click the Resume button and it won't resume no matter how many times I click it. So I have to go to Music, iTunes, iTunes Media, Downloads, and delete the folder with the name of the TV Show that wouldn't work. Then i open iTunes again and Check for Downloads and it starts over downloading.
The errors only occur when I start playing the TV Show while its downloading. Its fine if I let it download.
How do I fix the errors?

That's not the issue (waiting for the download to complete).  The issue is that the download never ever completes.  The Computer says "Hey, you can watch your show," but then just a few moments have downloaded, and you get a "-50" error.
The published solution for the -50 error is to navigate to the wack place that itunes has decided to store your download (if you can find it) and delete the partial file and try again.
I have "tried again" 5 times now.  It's not working.

  • Error 400 when downloading from iTunes U

This is my first time to post a discussion topic in this forum.  I used to be able to subscribe to iTunes U, but for the past few weeks, I could not have access to any iTunes U files at all (even for new subscriptions).  For some, the error says: "An internal server error occurred.  Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again." The other ones would say, "An unknown error occurred (400).  Please check that the URL is correct and the connection to the network is active and try again."
I could subscribe to other podcasts with no problem.  The problem is only with iTunes U.  It's very frustrating because I could not see this problem when I search for it online.  If someone knows what's wrong with it why it's giving me these error messages, I would really appreciate your response.
    Thank you very much!
