Error 1316 message when attempting to install Lightroom 1.1

When attempting to install the Lightroom 1.1 upgrade, I get the following message: "Error 1316.A network error installed while attempting to read from the file (file path)Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.msi."
I am trying to install the upgrade on an HP machine with 1 gig RAM running Windows XP Media Center Edition.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
TIA.

If you google "Error 1316.A network", you'll get a whole list of entries indicating that LR 1.0 was installed from a network drives and you're now installing it from a local drive. Probably the best path to take is to uninstall LR 1.0, then rerun the LR 1.1 install.

    Yolanda,
Thank you very much for your concern and your assistance!
Unless you instructor otherwise, I will implement the following steps:
    1. Download the System Update Readiness Tool from http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/what-is-the-system-update-readiness-tool and run.
    2. Shutdown PC.
    3. Start PC.
    4. Disable Avast Free A/V SW.
    5. Install Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2931356).
    6. Post outcome here.
    7. If install fails, upload the cbs file (windows\logs\cbs) and windows update log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) here for further analysis.
Thank you, again, for helping me.
    Sincerely,
    Jim Kochanski
I followed all of the steps above.
When I went to install the update, seven were available and all seven failed (see below).
The log files were too large to cut and paste therefore you can find them at:

    Hello Sophia10,
    Welcome to the Forums!
I noticed your post about the Runtime Error you are getting when you try to install your printer. I have a few suggestions to hopefully get it installed and working for you.
First of all, I would suggest performing a clean boot:
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    Next, try reinstalling the printer:
HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver Download
If the installation still does not work, try this:
Running Microsoft's Fix it tool, which will fix corrupted registry keys, etc:
Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled
Try to reinstall the printer again.
Please let me know how this goes! Good luck

  • Error message when attempting to install update

I am having trouble updating iTunes on my PC.
The software downloads then an erroe message pops up stating that the file .....iTunes64.msi cannot be found. A manual search for the file is also fruitless.

Very, very carefully throw your computer on the ground and burn your house down.  No more error message.

  • Error 1714 and error code 3 when attempting to install

I'm trying to install iTunes 6 with Quicktime 7.3, and the iTunes installation seems to go through fine, but when it gets to Quicktime, I always get those errors. It says that I do not have the file quicktime.msi in some temporary folder, and I can't find that file manually either. I currently have Quicktime 6.5 installed, but it seems to have stopped working since I started trying to install this new version. Also, when I try to uninstall Quicktime through the add/remove programs interface, when I click "uninstall/change". nothing happens. What should I do?

OK!!! did you figure it out?
I tried to manually do EVERYTHING since last night till now. But this deffinetly worked for me! http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
download the windows install cleaner, then find quicktime to remove, and then redownload the standalone version of quicktime.
    Hope this helps!
