Error 16 on Launch of both CS6 and Arcobat XI

Getting Error 16 on Launch of both CS6 and Arcobat XI. I have checked and corrected permissions on both "SLStore" and "Adobe PCD" and still getting Error 16 on Launch.

Systerm info? Other details? Have you simply tried to reinstall?

You can with Lightroom, but not (as far as I know) with Photoshop. You ought to get in touch with Adobe's customer service people and see if you can "sidegrade" to Mac for a relatively small fee.

It has been indicated that both of those cameras will be supported in the final release of Camera Raw 8.7. But there is no announced release date. There never is. I assume it will be before December 31. But that is only my guess based on the fact that the release candidate expires then.

Loaded both CS6 and CS6 (64-bit) extended version...

I just loaded both CS6 and CS6 (64-bit) from disk (no download) onto my Windows 8 HP Envy computer.   I noticed both boxes were automatically checked by Adobe during the set-up. I left as-is to not cause problems thinking just one would load.   Both programs take 3.3 GB but that's not a problem for me.   I was surprised to see that I had a choice of TWO PS programs now on my computer.   I searched all over Adobe and can't find a similar problem.
Also, two versions of Bridge loaded; the regular and the 64-bit.
My question is this (applies to both CS6 and Bridge):   Do I need to remove one?   Why did both load?   If I should leave both, which one should I use?   Why does this happen?
My computer specs:
Windows 8
Memory:     10GB DDR3
System:     64 bit
Hard Drive:     1.5TB
Processor:     AMD Six-Core FX-6200

you should probably leave the 32 bit program.
there are certain plugins, printers, scanners and i-don't-know-what-else that won't work with the 64 bit program and will work with the 32bit program. unless you're certain you won't care about that, leave the 32 bit alone.

Error 16 for both CS6 and CC Mac

Running OSX 10.8.4 mid 2009 Macbook 6 GB ram 256 GB SSD
CS6 for some odd reason fails to open with an error 16. I uninstall it and AAM does not list it so I can't reinstall
Download Bridge CC which does work, but Photoshop CC gives the same error and the same uninstall/reinstall error.
How do fix this and how do I get CS6 cloud version back?
And why does bridge CC tell me I don't have sufficient permissions when I use Help > Update?
I'd be glad to nuke and pave,but I need to know how.

It's been a busy night trying and retrying your advice. I took a long break and I just got back off the phone with tech support.
Long story short: I tried the CS Cleaner tool, Installed and reinstalled numerous times. I even went into OSX's recovery mode and used time machine to restore the hard drive before the CC release. Then I called Adobe tech perhaps thinking they had some workaround.
My problems seem to have started with the AAM. It updated, and my Photoshop CS6 cloud went Error 16, and all further attempts at uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop CC have given me nothing but error 16
A call to tech support did not fix it. I deleted the OSX hosts file, gone to Library/Application Support/Adobe,
renamed OODB folder to OODBold as per the tech's instructions and set permissions for Adobe PCD and SLStore folders. Error 16 back to square one despite carefully following instructions. The case has been elevated, I am awaiting Adobe Tech support's response.

Update both CS6 and CS6 64-bit apps?

Adobe Application Manager is showing updates for both regular CS6 and CS6 64-bit versions of Creative Suites apps like Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver. These were both automatically installed on my system when I downloaded from the cloud. Do i need to update both? Do I even need to have both on my system?

The Cloud installer installs both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of some apps on 64 bit systems because we're in a transition between 32 bit and 64 bit computing.
Soon 64 bit will be everywhere. Until then some people with 64 bit systems still need occasional access to 32 bit plugins (TWAIN for scanning comes to mind http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/twain-plug-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html) which have not yet been upgraded to 64 bit by the plugin vendor. So they open 32 bit Photoshop, run their filter then close it and launch 64 bit Photoshop.

Updating numbered Cross references crashes InDesign in both CS6 and CS4

I have a large medical journal that has over a hundered references, which I cross-referenced with the thinking that the client may well insert or amend the refernces. I was correct and now the customer has several references to go in I have updated the first in its numbered list at the end and gone to "update cross-refernce" and InDesign crashes. I have tried this in CS6 and CS4 but both crash.

This happens often, particularly with cross-references across documents that are managed with an InDesign book file. One common suggestion, in addition to updating the installed software with the latest patches, is to open all the files in the book before updating; this may or may not always succeed. Search this forum for cross-reference crash to see other suggested solutions.
Some of those posters may mention the commercial third-party Cross-References Plug-in for InDesign, from dtptools.com, and the poster's experience with it. It is reputed to be much more reliable than InDesign's built-in cross-references. It includes an option to convert the ID cross-references to its own, and that's reversible. There's a free trial. There's also a free reader plug-in for users who will need to open and edit documents that contain the plug-in's cross-references. The reader plug-in permits users to edit content in the documents without affecting the cross-references. HOWEVER, to edit or creatge new cross-references, users need the full plug-in.

Running both CS6 and CS5 bridge

I'm running CS5 bridge but using CS6 tools from the cloud tools. I keep CS5 on board because CS6 Bridge is really useless for getting any work done. I face major pauses when I try to use any of the menu buttons or try to right click on anything. Usually at least 5 seconds.
So I just use CS5 which is very quick to respond to those kind of clicks.
I'm seeing one problem that is apparently related to having both versions:
In CS6 Bridge:
When I set Edit/Camera Raw preferences/ Camera Raw Cache/ Select location
It also sets the same place for CS5 Bridge. And Vise versa if I set it from CS5 it changes CS6 as well.
Somewhere they must be using the same configuration file. Just at a guess I'd say that is not supposed to happen.
Can someone who knows more about the internal workings give me some advice about keeping the different versions from sharing settings?

Yup, its way to aggravating and time wasting to try to use CS6. In my case, running CS5, the one draw back is that I don't have access to the PS CS6 batch processor, so if I have need of that, I have to put up with CS6 long enough to get that done. Forutnately I don't use it all that often.. at least the recent projects I've undertaken have not necessitated it more than a few times.
Are you able to access the PS CS6 image processor from Bridge CS5? (Tools/photoshop/ And here you see several batching sort of tools including the Image Processor). For me; when running CS5 the Tools menu does not have a "photoshop" entry at all.
I'm sort of jumping to a new topic here and hope you don't mind. I wondered if you might have developed a numbered list of things one should try when having the stalling problem some users are seeing with CS6 bridge. I would like to take one more systematic stab at getting a usable installation of CS6 bridge before resorting to the long and usually painful process of getting help from adobe.
It would really be handy if someone with your grasp of this tool could codify and distill down a step by step list of things to try to get CS6 bridge working better.
Your respones to me and to at least one other poster I've noticed (I'm sure there have been more) contain lots of different things to try but with my shortage of experience with this kind of troubleshooting I'm not sure what order to attempt things in.

Will I have both CS6 and CC when installing

I am just done installing CS6 and uninstalling CS5 on my computers, just in time for the CC to be released. Do I have to go through install/uninstall ones again if I do not want to versions?
I was sort of expecting to be able to update, but this is not the case now I guess...? Will it be like this for every future updates also, meaning that it is not possible to replace the old versions?
I read in a different post that "many features is no longer supported". where can I find what has been left out of CC compared to CS6?

Error opening .indd files with CS6 AND CC - deadline looming, what is the fix?

I just got a new Macbook Pro and upgraded to CS6 two weeks ago. I was having problems opening files:
So I asked IT to upgrade me to CC.
Guess what? Still get the error message. I was editing this file yesterday without issue.
My deadline is now. WTH is going on???

Well, he's not working in the file now so there's no .idlk file for anything in the folder.

I get an exception error when launching NI Measurement and Automation Explorer

The CniDMFuiProvider::Initialize plug-in caused an exception in the CmxExecutionThreadPool:oWorkNonUI function in the MAX process. What is mean. I cannot access NI MAX after I ignore this message, I will have to kill the process.

This type of NI-MAX exception is associated with a corruption in some files of the NI-MAX and has been solved in the past by either removing a MAX database corruption or repairing the installation of NI-MAX. Have you tried going to Control Panel>>Programs and Features>>NI Software and repairing NI Measurement & Automation Explorer? Please let us know if any of those steps solve the problem. Can I install both CC and CS6 apps with my Creative Cloud membership?

Yes, you can download CS6 apps from the Download Center on creative.adobe.com. Click any app icon. From the product download page, for instance Illustrator, look for the heading "In this version" and click the version pop-up menu beneath it to select CC or CS6. The big blue Download button at the top of the page changes to "Download CS6".
Note: It is fine to have both CS6 and CC apps on your computer. Some users require mutliple versions for different clients, etc. Its a personal preference, but in no way is a requirement to uninstall your CS6 apps in order to install CC apps.
Tip: From the Creative Cloud destop app, click the "More Information" link under any app to be taken directly to the product download page.

Go into your CC Desktop app: Find new apps, change "All" to "Previous Version".
Click on Install next to Photoshop and CS6 will be an option.

Newest Video Cards for use with both Premiere Pro CS6 and CS4

Hi, I am currently using PPCS4 and just upgraded to PPCS6. On one system I'm running a GTX 285 and on the other Quadro 2000. Can you tell me which new graphics card in each catagory will be able to run both CS6 and CS4 as I have many programs still setup in CS4? I tried tech sipport with no answer from them. I looked over GTX 570 or 580 for one system and Quadro 4000 for the other but I still have reservations if there will be a problem or not with CS4. Can you help me. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, both systems are running Intel core i7's, one with 24gb ram and the other with 16gb ram. Thanks

CS4 does not really use any advanced features of any card... so a relatively inexpensive AMD/ATI card will do anything a more expensive card will do... for CS4
Starting with CS5 (a complete rewrite of the source code, to go from 32bit to 64bit, plus a LOT of other changes) an nVidia card helps with some actions
