I am always getting this error after I install PSE 12, and then try to run it. I reinstalled 3x--no change. I looked at the log files--I can not see any issue or error

Reinstallation of Photoshop Elements 12

I had to reinstall PSE 12 but only the editor appears. Photoshop Elements Organizer is missing. There exits no file and no related path. I use Windows 7. I have deleted all registry entries but even after several time of installing and uninstalling I can not see any improvement. Do I have to wait for Version 13?

Is Elements Organizer folder not present inside program files? Are you encountering any errors while installing PSE12? If so, please post a snapshot of the error.
If not, uninstall PSE once more and make sure that it is removed completely from the system (there are no residual folders inside program files). Reboot system , turn off your anti virus for sometime and then install PSE12 with right clicking setup as 'Run as admin'. Please let me know if your issue is not resolved.

Error "could not complete your request because of a program error" when editor is launched after PSE12 update.

Installed PSE12 in July, Installed and operated without issue. Received a message on the iMac 21.5 running OS X 10.9.4 about an update for PSE 12 being available. I downloaded and installed the update. Now when the Editor of the app is launched, I get a message that says "could not complete your request because of a program error". If I click "OK", the editor will usually continue and operate without problem but sometimes it will launch to a full gray screen and with just the border and will not close, can not quit, and prevents the MAC from shutting down. I have the force quit the app to continue to use the MAC. I have tried safe mode and user admin with same error. I can't find any posting specific to this issue. I thought there was a method to reinstall PSE without uninstalling it but I can't find it. Should I just simply uninstall PSE 12 anad start over???

It is a mute point now. PSE12 finally failed to the point it locked up the MAC. I had to restore the MAC OS from backup to a point before the PSE12 update.
The MAC now operates correctly and so does PSE12. I don't think I'll be updating PSE any time soon.

and activate with your serial number.
if you have a download problem (eg, you see an error page or you are offered an incorrect version), you probably didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that (a restrictive browser setting) is another potential source of problems.

I cannot open PSE12: Error 16.

I cannot open PSE12. The pc (Windows 7 Ultimate) doesn't open the program when I click on the icon, even I operate as Administrator.
Moreover, when I try to open Elements 12 Organyzer (I have a separate icon for this) , the system indicates: Error 16. If I try to dowload again the program from Adobe site, I cannot find any dowload for the whole program PSE 12, but only dowload regarding Chinese or japanese adds. What can I do? And I don't know how to remove the installed program. Thank you for your help.

When I try to uninstall PSE12, starting from Setup.exe, InstallShieldWizard starts to work, but, at some time, a message appears: "specified pathis empty" : the uninstall process is not complete and I must close the UnInstallShielWizard with no result.
Moreover, the link "Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12,11, 10 “ opens a page for PSE12 where there is no possibility to download Italian version: there is download only for japanese.
So no result was obtained…

PSE12 Error 16 when launching program

I have installed PSE12 - installation reported successful completion. I am running under Windows XP Home SP3. On 1st launch of the program, the Welcome screen appeared, but on selecting Editor it returned Error 16. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but it won't even launch the Welcome screen now - it just returns Error 16 all the time. Initially I was installing on an external drive, but I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling on my C: drive, but get the same result.
I've tried the advice given at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/configuration-error- cs5.html but:-
Step 2 - I do not see the 'Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended)' option - so I've not been able to deselect it.
Step 2 - The 'Show hidden files folders and drives' option actually appears as 'Show hidden files and folders' on my system - but I've selected this option.
Step 3 - Under Properties for the SLStore folder, Read Only is ticked but greyed out. I can untick it, but after Apply/OK, if I view the Properties again it still shows a greyed out tick.
Step 4 - For both Adobe PCD and SLStore folders, I am not seeing any Security tab, so am unable to set the permissions. It makes no difference whether I sign in to the Administrator account or the sole User Account (which I believe has administrative privileges anyway).
I would be grateful for any help in resolving this issue. [NB - I also have Lightroom installed].

Bottom lines:
a. Render the Elements Organizer slideshow on the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline if you want the best possible preview and move on in the project.
b. Try to disable the Smart Fix or ignore it and say No, it is a red herring in this matter of rendering the Timeline content.
c. Create a .wmv version of the Elements Organizer slideshow and import that into a new Premiere Elements project manually set for a project preset that matches the properties of your .wmv.
Please read on for the long detailed version:
Whatever descriptive adjective you give or do not give Smart Fix, for you it is a nusiance that you have not been able to disable by the usual means that I have described back in post 4. I suspect that you perceive an association between the appearance of the message and the existance of the orange render indicator over the Elements Organizer slideshow when it is automatically placed on the Premiere Elements Timeline with the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor command "Edit with Premiere Elements Editor".
This morning I did some first hand homework on this with in Premiere Elements 12 and 10.
Premiere Elements 12 Elements Organizer 12
1. The orange render indicator is unaffected by Smart Fix message appearance/disablement and whether you say Yes or No to Smart Fix message if it appears. So, it is a "red herring" if your quest is to get rid of the "need for rendering" that is indicated by the program's orange line over your Elements Organizer slideshow (.psess) when the file is on the Premiere Elements workspace Timeline.
2. Whether or not you set the Premiere Elements project preset before you use the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor Output command "Edit with Premiere Elements Editor", that non wmv (.psess) version of the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor's slideshow will arrive on the Premiere Elements Timeline with the orange rendering indicator above it, implying the need to render that content to get the best possible preview of what you have there. I have found no way to escape this type of thing in version 12 or 10 which I used for comparison.
3. In all this and in the past, I have never been able to trigger the appearance of the Smart Fix message when the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor slideshow (.psess) first arrives on the Premiere Elements Timeline. So, I am not clear what in your .psess is triggering that. But, Smart Fix is an aside here and not the issue if the issue is the orange rendering indicator.
4. The program typically throws off the need to render message when it cannot match the properties of the media with one of its project presets. I am still trying to figure out which parameter is not being matched when I know that I have a 720 x 480 @ 29.97 slideshow going into a pre-set DV Standard Premiere Elements project which includes 720 x 480 @ 29.97. One guess might be that the Pixel Aspect Ratio of the .psess is missing or not available (PAR = 0.9091) as it is in the project preset in this specific example.
5. Under these exact same conditions, if I select the Elements Organizer Slideshow Output option of Burn To Disc instead of Edit with Premiere Elements Editor, the wmv version of the slideshow produced and saved in that process can be imported into Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace and be dragged to the Timeline with no orange rendering indicator (in fact, no colored line).
Please review and then let me know if I need clarification.

Purchased PSE12 for Windows in error. How to switch to Mac version? [was: How can I get to SPEAK to someone in Adobe????]

I have recently purchased Photoshop Elements - but accidentally chose the PC version rather than Mac (I had changed to Mac the week before). I spent over 3 hours using the online support to get the activation code changed from a PC to a Mac version but the conversation kept disconnecting, meaning that I had to go over everything 3 times. I just want to speak to someone!!!! Can anyone guide me on how I can rectify this?

My PSE12 will not upload the last 3month's of photo's to Adobe Revel. error says "There was an error contacting the server check your internet connection and try again.

Recently we had to change our wireless modem, could this be the problem? Do I have to enter the new modem ID number somewhere? If so where?

First, regarding the virus issue, although I cannot promote any specific 3rd party software, there are plenty of FREE and very good anti-virus apps out there. You can Google 'free antivirus" and a good list will come up. You may want to look at a few reviews before you try. I don't know if you use Mac or Windows so you may have to do a little research on which is best for your computer platform. You can run the software and it will help clean off your system if there's a virus.
Second, regarding your Elements sync to Revel, you may need to disable and then re-enable the Revel sync agent from within Elements, which you find in Preferences. In addition you may try signing out and then back into Revel via Elements.
Let me know how that goes. If the disable/re-enable doesn't help, I'll get an Elements team member to see if they can help.

I have updated my PSE9 and still can not open the RAW files from my new camera, I get an error?

I bought a new camera (Canon T5i) and took photos in RAW, tried to open them in PSE9 and they wouldn't open. I got the following error...

I have been to the link & downloaded what update it had. I have also done the available updates on my PSE9 and I am still getting this error messge. When I called Canon regarding this they said I needed to contact Adobe.

The T5 is supported by Camera RAW 8.4 which needs PSE12. You can use the Canon software to convert RAW to TIF or the Adobe DNG Converter. The converter will convert the CR2 files to Adobes RAW DNG format that will open in PSE9's RAW processor. http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html#downloads.

Error message for contact sheet II command - program error

I am trying to create a contact sheet in photoshop elements editor (I have done this before so I know how to do it), but when I go ahead and click on the button an error message pops up: " the operation could not be completed. the file or directory could not be found. then I click on OK and another error message: could not complete the contact sheet II command because of a program error. HELP. this command was working fine 2 weeks ago

Which operating system and version of photoshop elements are you using?
The cause is usually because the folder that had been specified in the contact sheet ii dialog has been moved, deleted or renamed.
If your on a mac os go to
(user) Library\Preferences\Adobe\Plugins\Adobe Contact Sheet II PSE12\Elements
and delete the
Adobe Contact Sheet PSE12 Prefs
hopefully you should be able to use the Contact Sheet II plugin again.
To see your user Library, in the Finder Go menu press the Option key and then you should see Library listed on the Go menu.
