Error 1602 when i try to update to 1.1.4

ok when i try to update to 1.1.4 when it says preparing ipod for update an error code comes up (1602). ive read other discussions and sent emails but they all suggest deleting itunes off my computer completely and i dont want to do this... i dont have the time to rearrange all my music after i put it back on. so if i restore my ipod and then try to update it will it work? or is there any other suggestions on updating it?

i am about to tell you how to force your ipod touch into recovery mode so it has to restore. (definatley works on 1.1.3 but not sure on other firmwares)also, read through the whole guide before you do anything.
1) download the file from this website http://rapidshare.com/files/84859979/AutoDown.zip.html
(for the next step you will need an extractor program if you dont have one or have no idea what the **** that is, use winrar: http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Compressionand_Zip_File_Utilities/WinRARDownload.html)
2) make a new folder on the desktop and name it ipod restore (or whatever) and extract all the files into that folder.
3) connect your ipod to your computer and close itunes. go to task manager (ctl-alt-del) and click on processes. then end all processes that have to do with itunes (itunes.exe, ipodhelper, ipodservice, etc) but DO NOT END applemobiledevices.
4) now go to the folder you extracted the files to. open the folder autodown and then open the file down.
5) there should be a black box that opens. just follow the directions it gives you and the ipod should have an itunes logo and a connector. that means its in recovery mode.
6) now just close the window and close everything. open up itunes and it should say it detected ipod in recovery mode. then you should click on restore and it will download 1.1.4 and install it onto your ipod.
7) If you have any questions just email me at [email protected] and i should get back to you within 12hours cuz thats how much i check my mail.

Yes, I had found a similar solution also.  I'm running XP Pro, SP3.  I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair.  Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess.  Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes.  Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing.  I haven't begun to work on that.

  • Error Message when I try to update my iPod and Nano

HELP! I am suddenly getting an error message when I try to update both my iPod and Nano that states "...certain songs could not be added because I am not authorized to play them on this computer..."
    Any thoughts???

do you know which songs are being missed? (they will be itunes Music Store purchases.)
do they play in your itunes at the moment?
were they purchased through your iTunes Music Store account, or were they purchased by someone else (and your PC has been authorised to play songs from that account?)

    error:
there was a problem downloading the software for the ipod of (my name) . the network connection has timeout

    Hi,
If any of you are getting the error: "There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod. The network connection timed out."
    Here's the solution:
TO ANY OF YOU WHO ARE HAVING PROBLEMS UPDATING THEIR IPOD TOUCH TO SOFTWARE V4.1:
    1) Disable your antivirus
    2) Disable your firewall
    3) Click update in iTunes and when it says 20 seconds remaining for the download to complete, slide the unlock bar on your iPod Touch ("slide to unlock"). (Your iPod Touch must be unlocked to update)
I searched for months and this was the only update method that worked. I hope it helps.

  • Error A12E1 when I try to update the Creative Cloud desktop

I get an Error code: A12E1 when I try to update the Creative Cloud desktop on my Mac, OS 10.7.5. I tried creating a different user account but that made no difference. I uninstalled the Creative Cloud desktop app and downloaded a new one from the CC website. Same problem with an Error code: A12E6.
So how do we fix this?

    Dear Mr. Wright,
I’ve encountered this A12E1 error EVERY time an update to CC Desktop has been required — that’s (5) times since August 2013. I  contacted TS chat the first (4) times and each time I listened to them tell me that this was the LAST TIME I’d encounter this error. Each time, they put me through exactly the same process, delete exactly the same processes and folders, uninstall the CC application and reinstall it. This time, I skipped the tech support chat and did it myself:  who needs to be lied to over and over again?
If you’re not going to eliminate this A12E1 error, at least put something together to automate the process, please?
The instructions for #3, reinstalling the CC desktop application (post #23 above) are inaccurate, at least for OS 10.7.5. Tip: the Mac has more than one OS in use, as does Windows.
P.S. I deeply resent being ignominiously FORCED to use CC apps with the worst GUIs ever (are your code gurus completely ignorant of the concepts of CLARITY and LEGIBILITY?), being FORCED to reconfigure (6) or (8) “upgraded” applications every few months because Adobe won’t support the previous version(s) for more than five minutes, being FORCED to sift through hundreds of forum posts and dozens of INACCURATE  or non-existent so-called “support” pages (e.g., the link cited above) and being FORCED to watch hours of useless TV tutorials in order to find the one piece of information I need — EVERY TIME I need support — because Adobe is too lazy to write application- and version-specific manuals. You’ve backed us  into that infamous circle of hell between a rock and a hard place instead of providing us with the stable, seamless suite of creative tools we were promised.
The bling and the glitz and the self-promotional “look at our wonderful new toys” videos just don’t fill the void, Adobe.
Unless you work for a company big enough to afford one of your outrageously expensive tech support plans, you’re out here fending for yourself on forums that never seem to get looked at by an Adobe employee. I spend more time solving Adobe-related problems than I do producing billable work.  I’ve been a loyal, dues-paying, license-respecting Adobe customer since 1991; every year I paid the upgrade fees and was content to do so until Creative Suite offered the same upgrade deal to people with (1) outdated version of Photoshop that they offered to someone who’d paid the upgrades on (5) to (8) Adobe applications for (15) years. So much for loyalty and playing by the rules.
If you really want to help me, please find out why the Typekit support people haven’t answered the e-mail I sent them (2) days ago. And if Typekit won’t work with Dreamweaver CS6, then they ought to come out and say that instead of sending you to help pages that tell you how to use it with Dreamweaver CC. Thanks.

  • Why am I getting an error 306 when I try to update my ipod touch on itunes?

When I try to update my 3rd gen iPod Touch 32gb on my newly updated itunes, it tries to update it then gives me an error code 306 cannot update ipod because computer is not connected to the internet... My computer is fully connected to the internet and i can browse on firefox with no problems. Ran diagonstic tests through itunes and they said failure to connect to network. What should I do?

Try disabling the computer's firewall and antivirus duriong th download and update.
Are you sure it iserror 306? That is not listed as a error message in Apple's troubleshooting.

  • Weird error message when I try to update to 4.2

When I try to update to version 4.2 of the iPhone software, I get a message telling me "This version of iTunes (9.2.1) is the current version." That's a strange response to get considering that it's not iTunes I was trying to update!
Edited to add: I remember this happening with a previous iOS update, and eventually it stopped happening, so I thought they'd fixed it . . .
Message was edited by: D. B.

Does apple Read these? I want to upgrade to 4.2 on my 3G and cannot because I don't have itunes 10, and i'm only running 10.4.11, so Itunes 10 won't run on my pc, I'm not ready to upgrade yet to a new computer yet. I guess Apple does not care about it's older users of older equipment..not to allow us to fix our phones with the lastest updates????

  • Why do I get an error message when I try to update to iCloud 4 on my PC?

Why do I get a "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package .... " when I try to update to iCloud 4?

There is a very long way which is removing anything related to Apple including stuff in the registry.
The short way is as follows. It worked for me. I got rid of ICloud 3.1 and installed version 4.0 on the first try.
I have seen that in the forum EXCEPT the registry trick which is missing and does the difference.
    1. Remove the Apple account from Outlook.  In my case a me.com account.
    2. Disconnect the connection to ICloud in the control panel of version 3.1.
REBOOT and open Outlook to see that all traces of the email account and of ICloud are gone.
    3. Uninstall ICloud 3.1. I used REVO Uninstaller in Safe way mode. It removed some stuff in the registry from what I see; but not sure.
    4. Delete as much stuff as possible in the C \Program Files (x86) \Common Files \ Apple
and C\Program Files\Common Files \Apple.  My computer is 64 bits.
    5. Go to the registry by typing regedit.exe or simply type regedit in the Start Box. Search for ICloud.  I deleted TWO entries related to ICloud. Otherwise, you will still see the ICloud control panel despite the fact that you removed 3.1.
    6. then I was able to install ICloud 4 immediately.  Upon restarting it asked me my email and password and added itseft to Outlook like it was before. Be aware that you address book in Outlook could be deleted, so do an export before.
