You can let Microsoft know. It's important that they know about problems like this so they can fix them.

  • Cannot open pfd files error 1606 could not access network location %APPDATA%/

Error 1606 could not access network location %APPDATA%/
I have adobe reader 8.1.3 installed and cannot uninstall it as i get the same error message as when i try to open files or download the new version. When I type %appdata% into run nothing comes up. I have been through lots of other threads and cannot find a solution so ive made my own please help!

You can download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/ - run the downloaded installer, then start the
program from Start | Programs | Windows Install Clean Up.  Select Adobe Reader, then click 'Remove'.
N.B. I've heard that this program can cause problems if Office 2007 is installed; don't use it if you have Office 2007!
The above tool helps you to uninstall Adobe Reader, but it will not fix the basic problem with the corrupt %APPDATA% environment variable.  You can try to fix it with http://fixitcenter.support.microsoft.com/
P.S. this software is still beta; I strongly recommend to make a System Restore Point before proceeding.  Let us know if you need any help with this (and please state your Windows version if you do).

  • ACS 5.3 - 11033 Selected Service type is not Network Access

I have some older devices on the network that only support RADIUS (not TACACS) for authentication and would like to have them use SecureACS 5.3
I understand that by default, ACS only supports TACACS for device administration.  So I'll get this error when trying RADIUS:
11033 Selected Service type is not Network Access
    Description:
RADIUS requests can only be processed by Access Services that are of type Network Access
    Resolution Text:
Verify that the Service Selection Policy rules are correct
However, even after adjusting the Service Selection rules and seeing hits, I still see the same message in the logs, as if it has no affect.  Any Ideas?

If you use the protocol as radius you can not use a device admin service. You can only use network access. That will allow you for authentication to the devices.

    Hello again:
I don't mean to step on any toes here but it seems that the root of the problem is being ignored. I offered before that the problems you are experiencing are due to inconsistencies in the Windows registry. While I could speculate on the various methods of how this came to be, I don't have that kind of time nor is there a need. More than likely it is some type of malware that has infected the system but that should be explored on more suited forums such as MajorGeeks.com or BleepingComputer.com. The way I see it, you have a few paths you can take, all of which will lead you to the same place: no more error 1606 and a functional Reader:
Option 1: Run the Windows Live OneCare free safety scanner to resolve any broken registry links it can find.
Option 2: Manually fix the "broken" registry entries in the Windows registry. While I understand Pat's hesitation to do so, the truth of the matter is it will resolve the immediate issue. Once the APPDATA path is corrected, you should then be able to install Reader.
Option 3: Restore Windows to a previous date using System Restore located in Help & Support of the Start menu.
Option 4: [SLEDGE HAMMER] Reinstall Windows over the top of the current installation (NO FORMAT). Use this option only if you have no other recourse. The potential to lose all personal data and settings is high if this option is not performed correctly. If this option is chosen, be certain to use a "setup" profile (username) different than your current username. If you only have a manufacturer's system restore disk rather than a Windows CD/DVD, you may not have the option NOT to format which WILL result in the loss of personal data. This option should only be performed by someone who has previous knowledge of such or is willing to learn even at the expense of data loss/time/effort.
I HIGHLY recommend that any and all personal data is backed up to an external location such as a USB key, CD/DVD, or external hard drive prior to performing option 2 or 4 above. If you would like any of the options explained in greater detail, feel free to ask and I will oblige.
    Best of success!
         Michael

  • QT install error 1606: Could not access network location 1\lib\ext\

This all began when trying to update to latest version of iTunes 9.0.3. I first tried running the update via iTunes, and saw this message. Next, I downloaded the update file (iTunes + QT) and ran from my desktop as admin. Still the same result.
I have removed both QT and iTunes from my computer. I have deleted the temp folder (C:\users\owner\AppData\Local\Temp), restarted computer. Ran QT installer only and still same message.
I did download the Windows Install Cleanup utility, but couldn't use it directly on QT or iTunes as they were already deleted. I did use it to remove the other Apple programs resident on the computer.

    Excellent news!
What's happening with this one ... as far as I can work out, the \lib\ext\ being mentioned in the error message refers to Java program directories. The QuickTime installer tries to put a file into those locations ... for example, on my Lenovo, the file in question is:
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext\QTJava.zip
So, if there's some sort of issue with Java on the PC, sometimes the install of that file doesn't go through, and we get the network location error messages. Whatever the precise nature of the problem with the Java location is, updating or installing Java seems to help get people past it.

    Hello,
I am not an expert in MSDTC but as we know,SQL Azure Database does not support
distributed transactions. This means that SQL Azure doesn’t allow Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) to delegate distributed transaction handling.
One common cause of MSDTC getting involved in Entity Framework applications is the fact that we close and reopen the same connection as needed (i.e. for each query that is executed). To avoid the stack from opening and closing the connection multiple times,
you can simply open the connection explicitly and run the queries in the same connectio.
The following thread is about a similar issue, please refer to:
    http://answers.flyppdevportal.com/categories/azure/sqlazure.aspx?ID=d705a8cf-cba4-494c-96f6-96a136bd29e3
What's more, you can also try the workaround that involves setting the Enlist option of the SQL Azure connection to false. For the detail explanation, please refer to:Entity

The SQL query of my report (see details below) contains lots of INNER JOIN and 2 LEFT OUTER JOIN. If I replace those 2 LEFT OUTER JOIN by 2 INNER JOIN, the reports displays (but is wrong).
    Somebody knows this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Stephane.
    The SQL query below :
    SELECT    TblDataCurrentValue.`ValDtaId`, TblDataCurrentValue.`ValIdShape`, TblDataCurrentValue.`ValOk`, TblDataCurrentValue.`ValMain`, TblDataCurrentValue.`ValIndex`, TblDataCurrentValue.`ValValue`, TblDataCurrentValue.`ValValueId`,    TblDataLinks.`LnkDtaIdPrimary`,    TblDataValues.`ItmValue`, TblDataValues.`ItmColor`,    TblData.`DtaLabel`,    tblGraphs.`GId`, tblGraphs.`GName`, tblGraphs.`GRef`,    TblShapesGraph.`ShTextShape`FROM    ((((`TblDataCurrentValue` TblDataCurrentValue LEFT OUTER JOIN `TblDataValues` TblDataValues ON        TblDataCurrentValue.`ValValueId` = TblDataValues.`ItmId` AND    TblDataCurrentValue.`ValDtaId` = TblDataValues.`ItmDtaId`)     INNER JOIN `TblData` TblData ON        TblDataCurrentValue.`ValDtaId` = TblData.`DtaId`)     INNER JOIN `tblGraphs` tblGraphs ON        TblDataCurrentValue.`ValIdGraph` = tblGraphs.`GId`)     INNER JOIN `TblShapesGraph` TblShapesGraph ON        TblDataCurrentValue.`ValIdShape` = TblShapesGraph.`ShIdShape`)     LEFT OUTER JOIN `TblDataLinks` TblDataLinks ON        TblDataCurrentValue.`ValDtaId` = TblDataLinks.`LnkDtaId`WHERE    TblDataCurrentValue.`ValOk` <> 0ORDER BY    tblGraphs.`GId` ASC,    TblDataCurrentValue.`ValIdShape` ASC

Moving back to the 10_2 instant client works. Not certain why there is an issue with the 11_2 client.
