Error 1611 Ipod Touch 2 Gen
I have Error 1611 on my Ipod Touch 2 Gen.
I am also stuck on Restore screen on my ipod.
Please help!

When i try to restore the ipod touch, it fails to restore and gives me an error 1611. It shows the apple logo and nothing happens. After about 1 minute, i see the connect to itunes. I tried different pc and macs and nothing. I keep getting error 1611.
i was given the ipod touch 2gen that was bought on the apple store. I checked the serial number for the ipod and it still has warranty. Would i need a receipt to get it repaired? Any help would be appreciated.Error 1611

HT201210 Problem Unknown Error 1611 IPOD Touch.
I just updated ITunes. When I plugged in my Touch, ITunes informed me I had to update its software. That failed. I now have a dead Touch. Everything I plug it in to Itunes, I get the device needs to complete a restore. I click restore, and I get a non-progressing progress bar and eventually unknown error 1611. I have tried everything I can find on the Apple Support site and everything else. Nothing. Please help.

My iPod touch 4th gen. Keeps giving me the error message "cannot connect to the app store when I sign in. I can open the app store and browse it but I can't download anything. I have full signal strength with my wi-fi and safari is working perfect. I turned it off and restarted it 3 times now. I have an iPad 2 and the app store works flawlessly with it. What is going on?
Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

I have a Windows 7 laptop, and recently the hardrive broke. I got it repaired and ever since, my ipod touch 4th gen does not connect to itunes and an unknown error (0xE8000012) appears. What do I do?
try to restore in itunes bye putting in recovey mode turn the ipod off press the home button and plug in the ipod into the computer. an itunes shuld see it in recovery mode and click restore. and that should do the trick.

I downloaded a recommended update and since then my ipod touch (3rd gen) is frozen and will not turn on. I try restoring factory settings but the process terminates with a 1604 error. I have researched this problem on the net and think i have tried everything, but still no joy. I have tried removing all apple and itunes software and reinstalling, updating the apple drivers - nothing has worked. I am using itunes 10.3 on my pc, windows xp.
If anyone can help me i would be extremely grateful - I am off on holiday on thursday and would love to have my ipod with me!

Craig.Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I purchased an ipod touch 5th gen today and have had no luck getting my music onto it from itunes. Everytime I attempt to sync it either reads "internal device error" or "could not sync with this ipod as it was unable to be read from". I have tried restoring it twice with no luck. B-rock, thanks for posting the above. I actually have the same issue, running Windows XP and I don't have that backup location, \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\. When I go to Documents and Settings\(username)\ there's a AppData folder followed by:\LocalLow\DataMngr\ .
I have the latest update, 5.0.1 and I have the iPod Touch 3rd gen.
I have tried removing itunes and all that is associated with it then reinstalling and keep getting the same message. I've reset my ipod thinking that would help but still, no backup.
In iTunes, Edit, Preference, Device there are no backups.
What am I doing wrong, can you help?
