Error 1714 the older version of Nokia...

Hi, I have a N80 and the last PcSuite, the PcSuite work fine under bluetooth connection but don't work by USB, after erasing and reinstaling some times and running pcsuit cleaner, i try to install the Nokia Connectivity Cable driver and give me this error: Error 1714. The older version of Nokia Connectivity Driver cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. Help me please, i need usb connectivity for the NokiaSoftwareUpdater, without the usb i can't upgrade my phone. Thanks. Dani2k from Argentina.

If very uninstall fails, then the best thing to do is to download the Windows Clean up Utility
and remove the software completely. I am attaching the installer file, please rename to exe and then run the set up.
After that please install the windows installer

This should work for you.

  • Error 1714.The older version of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.5 64-bit cannot be removed

I can't upgrade lightroom, without this error, anyone experienced this?

I deleted everything to do with lightroom (except my cat files) and then deleted everything I could find in the registry regedit that referred to lightroom. Then I ran a microsofts fixit program (you can get it from their website) and then tired the install of lightroom 5.5 and it worked. HUGE PAIN IN THE ***!

  • The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable Driv...

Trying to install the actual version (even Beta 3.1) of Ovi Suite fails with the error message "The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable driver cannot be removed" (Error 1714)!
Im running a Win 7(64bit) Pro system and used to have PC Suite 7 installed.
PC Suite 7 was uninstalled before I attempted to install the new Ovi Suite. As it failed with the error message above, I called the Nokia hotline, deinstalled all existing Nokia software and tried to run PC-Suite Cleaner 7.1.1. Regretfully, PC Suite cleaner hangs up immediately.
Scanning my computer for Nokia entries on advise from the hotline, all Nokia files were deleted and the registry was scanned and cleaned from Nokia entries as well.
Obviously some remains of the cable driver are hidden in the system somewhere.
Could anybody please help ? I need to synchronize my X6 on a regular basis.
    Thanks !

Can't you see 'Nokia Connectivity Cable drivers' in the Windows Control Panel ?

When trying to update my version of iTunes on my PC with Windows 7,  I receive the error message "The older version of iTunes cannot be romoved".  How do I correct this problem without losing all the music that I have in iTunes on my PC?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Trying to update iTunes, get error message "The older version of Bonjour cannot be removed" How do I remove it?

Trying to update iTunes on Windows XP, get error message "The older version of Bonjour cannot be removed." I have removed several copies of the file Bonjour in a couple of different folders but the error message persists. What am I missing??

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. • Error 1714: The Older Verison of Palm Desktop by ACCESS Cannot be Removed

    Hi Folks:
Does anybody know what specific registry keys, files or directories must be cleaned up for this error to go away when installing Palm Desktop 6.2?
Note that I had a previous version 4.1.4 that got damaged.   I've run Windows Install Clean-up as well as CCleaner, but neither seems to fix this problem.  I've also search through the registry trying to find any lingering "palm" key, and nuke those.
    Thanks,
    Drew

    Hi Aeisha:
Oddly no, although I uninstalled PD 4.1.4 because several weeks ago I started getting a spurious error message that the PD was unable to read my configuration, etc.  I don't recall if I have saved the error.
I will read the KB article and respond here.
Interestingly, I did install the PD 4.0.1 for Hypervisor.  I gather it uses a different installer than those used by 4.1.4 and/or 6.2.

I have beeing trying to upgrade my old version of Quicktime 7.6.2 to the newer one.
Unfortunatly, at the end of the downloading process, I got an error message: The Older Version of Bonjour can not be removed. Please contact your technical support. I have no idea what is Bonjour??? Except it is French for good morning. I tried to delete the program with the add/remove programs, but I got a new error message who says: Another installation is already in progress, complete that installation before. It is crazy because I can not complete the installation until I delete the Bonjour program. And when I stopped the installation of Quicktime to try to delete or repair the program, I got a message: The feature you are trying to use is on a Network resource who is unavalaible????? I am ready to give up. HELP!!

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
You have an Intel Mac so you can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but using the  information from the Get Information step above check the system requirements first:
    Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
You can buy Snow Leopard at:
Snow Leopard disc source - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After installing run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

  • The old version of NOKIA Connectivity Cable Driver...

Hi can anybody help me with this??? I had 2 years ago older Nokia phone, and older version of PC Suite installed on my PC. I sold the phone and "probably" not correctly uninstalled the PC Suite software. I bought NOKIA 6300 now. But when I am installing Nokia PC Suite 6.85.14...it is saying = "The older version of Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" cannot be removed", and it stops installation.
WHAT SHOULD I DO? There is nothing in Add/Remove software, I cannot find anything in registers....
    PLEASE HELP ME.
    THANK YOU A LOT.

    Hi jasrad
You perhaps need to go to microsoft.com and download Windows Installer Cleanip Utility "msicuu2.exe"
Go to Start > Programs > Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
When you run this it looks a bit like the add/remove program window. Now select "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and "PC Connectivity Solution" programs.
Now go back to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and try and remove "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver" and the "PC Connectivity Solution" programs. They should now uninstall.
    Reboot your PC.

  • Error 1714. The older version of QuickTime cannot be removed. - Fix

I ran into this problem when I was installing the latest version of i-Tunes. Because i-Tunes requires QuickTime I researched for hours. I couldn't un-install QuickTime, it wasn't showing up in a software list to uninstall. I used Regedit to remove all of the "QuickTime" entries in the registry. Restarted my computer, still no luck.
One thing that I did I ran the Quickertime installer from a DOS prompt and added /le file.txt
This creates a log file with all the error during the installation.
This gave me the follow error in the file:
    === Logging started: 12/30/2006 17:29:18 ===
Error 1714. The older version of QuickTime cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1610.
    === Logging stopped: 12/30/2006 17:29:31 ===
Again this is what I to searched for the errors with on luck.
I ran the Quicktime installer again, this time I used the /l* file2.txt. This logs everything during the installation.
I searched this file for where the errors were and found this:
    RemoveExistingProducts: Application: {50D8FFDD-90CD-4859-841F-AA1961C7767A}, Command line: UPGRADINGPRODUCTCODE={F07B861C-72B9-40A4-8B1A-AAED4C06A7E8} REMOVE=ALL
MSI (s) (88:78) [18:39:06:390]: Unexpected or missing value (name: 'PackageName', value: '') in key 'HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer\Products\DDFF8D05DC09958448F1AA91167C67A7\Sour ceList'

Then in the registry removed the entry 50D8FFDD-90CD-4859-841F-AA1961C7767A in the HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer\Products directory.
!!!!Make a backup of your registry if you are unfamiliar with regedit.

Thank you so much for this solution! I spent hours trying to figure it out myself and by following your steps I got it working! My numbers were different but I was able to figure out which one I needed to delete. Thank you once again!
