Error 1719
I think somehow many of the .sys files have been corrupted (a rootkit was somehow installed). Windows boots to the password screen then goes to the command prompt. By trial and error I am able to get to the desktop (only in safe mode and no network access) and some of the programs work. Many don't. I tried using the system file checker but it is nonfunctional so I downloaded the HP support assistant, and I get the message: Error 1719 Windows installer service could not be accessed. I tried system recovery, and that too failed. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I have no disk to reinstall windows 8 the laptop came with it preinstalled.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Notebook with Error 1719, Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
Try this:
1. Click Start type Services.msc
2. Double-click Windows Installer
3. Set the Startup type of Windows Installer to Automatic
4. Click Start to start the service.
5. Click "OK".
Restart the Notebook. If you have Virus protection temporarily disable to install any updates.
You could run the system recovery manager in Windows that will help you restore the system to factory condition. Performing an HP system recovery will remove the errors, and you can do this in safe mode.

Error 1719 during Office 2010 Silent installation

I have created a logoff vbs script enforced through GPO for a silent installation of office 2010 SP. The main part of the script run the following command:
SetupCommand = ShareDir & "\x86\setup.exe /config " & ShareDir & "\x86\ProPlus.WW\config.xml"
ReturnValue = oShell.run(SetupCommand, 1, True)
installation files are located on a network share (permissions: full control for everyone)
The installation seems to work correctly until installation of updates when I get error 1719 Windows Installer service could not be accessed preceded by a warning event 1530:

I've tried the script on 5 different hosts and I always get the same error. I've tried once to use the same script at logon and it worked.

Based on your description, I understand that you had configure logoff script via Group Policy to install office
2010. Meanwhile, you had confirmed that logon script will work fine if use same script. So, I guess the script should be correct, there seems to have some issues in Group Policy settings. Please refer to following articles and check relevant log files if find

Error 1719 can't install I-tunes
Got an Ipod nano,2cd gen. and I have I-tunes ver 6 on my Win's pc. Tried to download Ver.7, and it says Can't install due to inability to find Windows Installer. Error 1719. I went to control Panel and tried to delete the old version, and got the same message. I've rebooted the pc, I've gone to MS's webpage and downloaded a "patch' something about needing a virtual thingy, and that didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas? And why is this happening? Thanks
H.P Windows XPOk, I've called Microsoft, and installed a new installer, ver. 3.1, Microsoft will not help me, due to having an OEM machine, and I have to pay $79 to talk to them.
I've called the Manufacturers of Ipod, and they tried to setup a new "profile" for me , but it kept coming up w/ can't install , can't un-install. The guy told me to call Microsoft and if that didn't work call back. I haven't called back yet because I've spent 3 days since I've gotten this "present" working on getting one silly jukebox. Sorry, I'm frustrated. Can I take the darn thing back? Or is there something else I can do? I tried the Win's Cleanup Utility, installed the VBscribt, and like I said installed the Ver.3.1 installer and nothing will allow me to install this Version of I-tunes. What else is there to do???? Thanks for your help, I do appreciate it, just verrry frustrated.

There doesn't seem to be a simple fix other than the complicated manual registry changes I have seen.

Yes, this is where I saw the article detailing the MS "fixit" link...that didn't do it (other than removing Reader for me. The rest of the fixes I see involved either modifying the registry in some way all the way up to completely re-installing the system software (which is kind of tough as I bought the HP computer with Windows 8 already installed).
I am not keen to try modifying the registry...
I agree, it has nothing to do with Reader but thought this has probably affected many others which is why I posted here.

Windows 2008 r2 windows installer issue error 1719 when install Backup exec 12.5
Hi all
After a epic weekend of rebuilding our exchange server I have tried to reinstall Backup exec 12.5 64bit, this was installed with no issues during the last build, however at the end of this build I went to reinstall Backup Exec 12.5 and it is failing with
error 1719 Windows installer issue.
I have looked on many sites and tried many things non of them have worked, has anyone managed to resolve this issue.

Error 1719 Installing Office 2010
I'm trying to install Office 2010 (32 bit) on a Windows 7 (64 bit) laptop.
It gets about half way through and gives the following error:
"Error 1719: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed."
I've checked the Windows Installer and it is set to Automatic. I've also tried unregistering and re-registering it as well. Haven't found any answers on the web so far.

Based on the current situation, we need to repair the Windows system.
Method 1: System file checker
============
1.
Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
2.
Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
sfc
/scannow
The sfc
/scannow command scans all system files and will recover the corrupted ones.
3. If the command is successful, please restart the computer and check the results again.
Note: You can also run the sfc command in safe mode to repair the corrupted files.
If the problem persists, try Method 2.
Method 2: In-place Upgrade
==============
We need to focus on system files and repair them with Windows 7
DVD first. If the Vista DVD is available, please perform the following steps:
Turn off Windows features
1. Click the Start Button, click Control Panel.
2. Click Classic View on the left pane, and double click Program and Features.
3. Click "Turn Windows features on or off" on the left pane.
4. In the Windows Features dialog box, uncheck all of the check boxes, and then click OK.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Now, let's perform the following steps to repair the corrupted files:
NOTE: In-Place upgrade will not remove any installed programs or files on the computer. It just repairs the system. However, it will remove all of the
installed updates, we need to run Windows Update to reinstall them after repairing. In addition, I suggest we back up useful files to avoid data lose.
In-Place upgrade (Repair install)
1. Start the computer by using the current Operating System.
2. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in the computer's DVD drive.
3. Use one of the following procedures, as appropriate:
If Windows automatically detects the DVD, the Install now screen appears. Click Install now.
If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, follow these steps:
a. Click the Start Button, type Drive:\setup.exe in the start search box and then click OK.
Note: Drive is the drive letter of the computer's DVD drive.
b. Click Install now.
4. When you reach the "Which type of installation do you want?" screen, click Upgrade to upgrade the current operating system to Windows 7. Please make
sure the edition of Windows 7 is selected correctly.

I have Windows Vista and have uninstalled all of itunes and all applications including Quick Time. I have gone to itunes.com to re-install itunes but it will not allow me to do that. Each time that I do I get the error message, "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and asks if I want to shut it down. I have shut it down, which didn't help, and I have just closed the dialog box which takes me to a window thanking me for loading itunes, but there is no itunes to be found on my computer. I also was told my popup filter was too high and medium was recommended, in checking that out it was already set on medium. Anyone know how to solve this?

Error while installing SMD agent
Hi ,
1) Can any one please justify/brief the need of installing SMD agent on ABAP stack?
2) When I tried to install the SMD 711 agent on ABAP stack I could see the below error when i click sapinst.exe.

I tried with Changing the environment variable of Temp and tmp to C:\usr\sap\<sid>\tmp and also tried with directory c:\temp but in vain .

Desktop freezes and hard drives failure
Hey i faced a recent problem with my Computer, when i log in it freezes/crash i got told its due to my sound drive failuring, i tryed to download HP assistant to upgrade my sound drive but it cames up saying " Error 1719. windows installer service could not be accessed" I went to the HP software website to see if theres any sound drive but there arnt. I cant do a system restore because an error pops up. I tryed everything, nothing seems not to work .

Unable to install Power2Go & Trend Micro antivirus after upgrade to windows 7
Hi. Recently I received my free windows 7 Upgrade Kit from Lenovo. (fulfillment)
Installed it and inserted the driver dvd to install the drivers from the dvd automatically.
Everything went fine but the power2go software wasn't installed.
Downloaded this file from Lenovo's Software & driver website, and during installation it popped up a window saying This product can only be installed on a lenovo desktop. I would dearly like to use this software. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also, I called tech support, and was advised to go to the same place where I downloaded the file, to file a feedback. However, after entering the 4 paragraph from above along with my contact details, and submit, it gave me a pop-up window saying submit error..
btw, I am using Lenovo Ideacentre A600, and also no idea where to post this question as there isnt a dedicated place to post for A series Ideacentre.OK, I downloaded winRAR and did as suggested above, and it still did not work. This time it seems to recognize my PC as a Lenovo, but I get error 1719 (unable to find installer) at the end.
I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with tech support, and I still don't have this issue resolved! although the man was very pleasant and had a lot of suggestions, which we tried unsuccessfully. I would love to know if anyone has solved these issues in any way other than re-purchasing the software, which I do not want to do, although it is the obvious solution.
