Error 1904 when installing Crystal Reports 2010 Redistributable

Hi,
I'm having trouble installing the CR 2010 Redistributable on a few machines. We've installed all the windows updates and have reinstalled all the C++ 2005 redistributables including the newer ATL update. On install, a bunch of dll's can't register including commonobjmodel.dll
Using dependencywalker we see that it's missing the reference to MSVCR80.dll.
Is there a way the the Restributable can include the C++ redistributable instead of being dependent on it?
Thanks

Hi Ludek,
Thanks for the direction. I looked at 2 servers that we have both Server 2003. One installed the redist OK, the other failed.
Looking at the processMonior - one thing that popped out, it was was doing a bunch of open/reads on
c:\program files\CA\Shared Components\Etpki\lib\cryptocme2.dll
That is coming from an ArcServe Backup utility, that is installed on a bunch of machines. When we uninstalled it, we could installt he Redist without issues.
Is there anything on your internal database that would point to a workaround for this? Why would it reference arcserve and not the cryptocme2.dll in the SAP folder?
Thanks!

    Hi there,
Try the following silent install command via the DOS command prompt:
    setup.exe ADDLOCAL=ALL CLIENTLANGUAGE=EN REBOOT=ReallySuppress PIDKEY=B1234-1234567-1234567-1234 INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11.5" /qn /l* C:\temp\CRXIr2Trace.txt
    Notes and explanations:
In the above example, it assumes that you copied the installation media to the C:.  You will also have to change directory to the wherever the win32 directory is.  The setup.exe is located in the win32 folder of the installation media.
If you had put the win32 directory in say, C:\CRXIr2\win32, then you will have to navigate to this point first before typing the string above.  You will also need to change the product key from B1234-1234567-1234567-1234 to match your own.
The ADDLOCAL switch specifies a list of features to install.  ADDLOCAL=ALL then installs all the features.
The REBOOT=ReallySuppress prevents Crystal Reports from prompting the user to reboot the machine
The /qn switch performs the installation silently without prompting the user .
Finally, the string above also logs the installation to a text file in C:\temp\CRXIr2Trace.txt.
You can find a full explanation of the switches and silent install string from xir2_cr_install_en.pdf in the installation media.

    Hello Dorohidea,
Do you mean that when you install crystal report in virtual studio 2010, you receive the error message about error 1310?
Please take a look at the following KB.

  • Getting an error trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on a 64 bit Windows

reformatted my computer and now I'm trying to install Crystal Reports 2008 on 64 bit windows 7 box.  When the "Registering modules" portion of the install comes up, I get a message that a dll has failed to register.  I saw something about not having the Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable pack (x86) installed but that was not it either.
The cd label say Crystal Reports to Crystal Reports 2008 Upgrade, but it does not seem like I have to have the older version of Crystal insatlled.
Any ideas how to fix this ?

    Hello together,
i've had the same problem. Tried to install CR SP 2 "cr2008win_sp2.exe" onto an existing CR 2008 SP1 installation, and got the above error. After extracting the cr2008win_sp2.exe to an folder using Winzip (or just start Installation, the source would be extracted to "c:\temp" ), navigate to the subfolder "\package" and execute the CrystalReports.msp (in my case: c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp). This start's the Installation of SP 2. If you get an version mismatch, use parameter SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1 by typing command in an dos prompt "c:\temp\package\CrystalReports.msp SKIP_PATCH_VERSION_CHECK=1" but remember, you need to have an SP1 installed (somebody said, SP's are incremental).
Reboot and apply then the  CR 2008 SP2 FixPack 7 "cr2008fp27.exe". Use this Link to Download CR and Xcelsius Stuff:
I would suggest you not to use IE for downloading, use an alternative browser. I got only bad downloads (IE8 on Win7).
This is the way i did and this works pretty good.
    Good Luck

  • Error 1305 while installing Crystal Reports 2008, JavaSDK

While installing Crystal Reports from the original media on a new Lenovo Thinkpad running Windows XP Pro SP3 I get the following error while installing:
Error 1305: Error reading from File: c:\program files\Business Objects\javasdk\jre\audio\soundbank.gm. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
I have the option to retry or cancel, obviously cancel exits the installer. Retry just fails again. I have tried to access the file (which does exist) and I cannot because it is in use. I used Sysinternals process explorer to find out what has the file in use and it is msiexec.exe which is the Microsoft Installer service which is running in order to install CR2008.
I have tried restarting, setting permissions on the file and folder, uninstalling and reinstalling Java VM from Sun. I even tried killing msiexec (which killed the install). I even tried taking out all reference to java in a custom install.
I am at a loss on what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

No. It just means that you should have the same patch level for all your BOBJ/CR components:
    ie.
    BOE XI 3.1 + CR Designer 2008 V1 + int.Kit XI 3.1
    or
    BO XI 3.1 SP2 + CR Designer 2008 SP2 + int.Kit XI 3.1 SP2

  • Deadlocked error message when running crystal report

    Hi All,
I need a bit of guidance as to the following problem.
Seems there is a lock being created in SQL when running some crystal reports.
When trying to run a report the following message is displayed:
Database connection Error L 'ADO Error Code: 0x
    Source: Microsoft SQL Native Client
Description: Transaction (Process ID 302) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.
    SQL State: 40001
Native Error: [Database Vendor Code: 1205 ]'
The error is happening intermittently when refreshing the report. It does not seem to happen when no users are using the system.
Is there any way to stop this from happening? Or is this some kind of limitation with crystal and how it accesses the database?
    Many Thanks,
    Matt

    Hi Matt
I have had this problem with long running queries as well.  I ended up doing the main part of the query in a view using WITH (NOLOCK) for each table and then reporting on the view.
This had extra benefits of making the report much simpler and often making the query more efficient and easier to test as well.

  • Error 1904 when installing flash player

I'm having an issue getting flash player installed on a
Citrix server running Windows Server 2003. I get the dreaded
"Error: 1904." From what I've read, it sounds like the issue is
with permissions on registry keys. I've gone through these
    instructions:
    "STEPS:
In the registry find the following keys (if they exist). Then
    right
click and grant read/full control to Administrator.
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash
    ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.1
    (There is NO ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.2)
    ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.3
    ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.4
    ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.5
    ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.6
    ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.7
    ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.8
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.spl
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.swf
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mfp
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.sol

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content
    Type\application/x-shockwave-flash
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content
    Type\application/futuresplash"
The strange thing is that none of the
ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.X keys exist. Everything else is
    there with proper permissions.
    The full error message is:
    "error 1904. module
    c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flash8.ocx
failed to register. HRESULT - 2147220473. contact your
    support personnel."
I'm wondering if I can just create the missing registry keys
by hand and mirror the values found on a working machine. I'd
rather not just try without seeing if it is possible first as this
is on a production Citrix server.
    Thanks!

Getting the exact same error...no posted fixes have worked to
    resolve to date.

    Hi Ludek,
    Thank you for your response.
I checked the web.config file, all http handlers are there. I think the handlers are required to render the images on crystal report viewer but in my case the report viewer is not being rendered.
    I have to questions:
    1. What exact folders should be under aspnet_client\system_web?
In my case I have structure like this
    aspnet_client\system_web\2_0_50727\crystalreportviewers13
    aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319\crystalreportviewers13
Should I have folders something like this
    aspnet_client\system_web\2_0_50727\crystalreportviewers13_1
    aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319\crystalreportviewers13_1
    after I installed Crystal Reports 2010 SP1
Also, in C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET 4.0\Common\Crystal Reports 2011\ there is no folder named as crystalreportviewers13 but instead crystalreportviewers
    a.     Should I copy all files from this folder to aspnet_client\system_web\2_0_50727\crystalreportviewers13, or
    b.     Should I copy all files from this folder to aspnet_client\system_web\2_0_50727\crystalreportviewers13 and rename this folder to
    crystalreportviewers
    2. Can you explain how to get a data report?
This is the quote from your previous answer
I'd be interested to see this simplified to a saved data report - no DB logon code - as a test...
    Thank you Serghei
