When trying to download itunes I get this error message. An errr occurred during installation of assemby " Microsoft VC80CRT type=wind32" vversion "8.9.50727.4054, public key token=1fc8b9a1e3b"processor Architecture="AMD64" Please advise
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.) -
I can't install iTunes on Windows 7. "An error occurred during installation of assembly"
I recently purchased an iPhone 4s. This product requires me to insall iTunes on my pc, which runs Windows 7 64bit. However, when installing iTunes I keep recieving the same error message-- An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version='8.0.50727.4053',publicKey Token="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b". ProcessorArchitecture="amd64" HRESULT: 0x800736B3
I've already looked over many previous forum posts and haven't been able to find a suitable solution to this yet. I had iTunes on my computer previously but deleted it after I had freezing trouble. I have ensured that all old files have been removed. Bonjour gave me some trouble but I think I have dealt with that now. Also, I have been experiencing some failures with windows update-- service pack 1 for windows seven and some security updates mostly-- which I am yet to solve. I really have no idea what to do as I would like to run my iPhone on the latest iOS. If anybody could help me I would be forever grateful.
Thanks, heattr.I've been having the same issues for the past year and a half. I've spent 6-8months trying to figure it out. Went to various Itunes stores with pictures on my Iphone per each step so I could relay all information that I'd come across and the personnel were less than helpful, after conversations that would sometimes last an hour between myself, employees and managers they always came back to "simply uninstall then reinstall" when I told them for the thousanth time that I've done that multiple times and my errors are happening while trying to reinstall it they act stumped and say "well then I'm not sure, I'll give you a call if I figure it out" and disappear. I've been very disatisfied at the lack of support from Apple and if Android to piece together a reletively reliable phone I'd switch to them in a heartbeat. I'll follow this question incase someone can answer this, but I don't have much faith.
BTW, wifey has Windows 7 running on the laptop and my phone syncs just fine to that and no trouble with itunes, just mine (desktop). -
I have a picture of the entire error message, but it won't let me attach it. Also, if anyone knows a way of contacting apple support without being charged $20 that would be nice as well...

Can someone help me?
OK. You may have to reinstall everything from scratch but follow following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -

Error occurred during install of assembly policy 8.0.microsoft.vc80.CRT
I've been trying to upgrade to itunes 9 on windows vista system. During the install, it says "error occurred during installation of assembly policy 8.0.microsoft.vc80.CRT, version 8.0.50727.403 type win 32 policy public key token=1fc8b3b901e18e3bprocess architecture=x86 Quicktime installs OK, but Itunes install is interruped -- Apple Support install portion is rolled back after this error pops up. I went thru suggested Apple troubleshooting options, got same error. Ran install as administrator from desktop, also did not work. Tried installing both thru apple software updater and directly from Apple website -- still get error. I asked about this on Microsoft site, they sent me back here. thanks for any solutions.
flabud, here are the next steps that I would suggest.
1) If you haven't done so already, reenable McAfee. I'm guessing that you've already done that though.
2) Create a manual restore point. You can also do this after each of the following steps if they are successful but you don't have to necessarily do it each time. One restore point at the beginning should suffice.
3) Disable Windows Defender so that it no longer has possible conflicts with McAfee. McAfee put out this notice earlier this year because the combination of those two programs were causing problems and that notice describes how to disable WD. You should also uncheck Windows Defender using MSConfig (Startup tab) after disabling it as described in the notice. One of my systems had the exact error message described in the notice and since disabling WD it has encountered no further problems.
4) Check Programs and Features in Control Panel for the following programs and install using the associated links if they do not show up. Restart after each installation and then check to make sure the install was successful in Control Panel.
a) Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)
b) Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (if MS .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 already exists then do not install this)
{I added this because I had problems with this install at the time of the McAfee/WD conflict}
5) Run Windows Update and install any Important or Recommended updates. The installation of the programs in step 4 should allow the others to complete successfully but if any still fail make a note of them as you did before.
6) If everything completes successfully to this point then reattempt the installation of iTunes using the file that you have in the Downloads folder.
I've written the steps in the order that they should be done so if you run into a snag in any step let us know before proceeding to the next step. -
ITunes won't install on my system: error during installation of assembly
Hey everyone. I've been living a nightmare for the past month. I tried to upgrade my system to Windows7 x64 and had major CPU problems. After nearly a month of trying to fix it, I decided to go back to Vista x64. That solved my CPU problem, but now I can't get iTunes to load!
Here the error message I get during installation:
An error occurred during installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32"version="8.0. 50727.762",processArchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070424
Any ideas??Doublechecking something, paradox. Head into your Windows Update and have a look at your Update History. Have updates also been failing for you? If so, what error code shows up for the failed updates?
(Doubleclick the failed updates to see a small window with more information, including the error codes.) -
NOT RESOLVED
It seems to be a problem with my windows installation. I will re-install at a later date since installing PDF viewing programs the only issue.
Problem:
While installing Adobe Reader XI using the install_reader11_en_mssd_aaa_aih.exe from Adobe Reader Install for all versions and AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi from a forum post on here. Error 1935 occurs using both installers and causes the setup to fail and initiate rollback.
Additional information:
In Programs & Features list there is no adobe reader as you can see:
This is pretty much a clean install of windows on which I have installed: Adobe Flash Player (16), Steam + some games, Chrome, Skype and some Visual C++ Redistributables, .NET Framwork, Drivers for GPU, CPU, Motherboard and USB devices.

Restarting the computer and trying to install Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
2. Restarting the computer, disabling Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and installing Adobe Reader 11 results in the same error.
3. Chrome has "allow all sites to run JavaScript" checked.

Edit:
I have attempted to install an earlier version (10.1.4) of Adobe Reader - Same error occurs.
Edit 2:
I'm going to look for some alternatives for the mean time
Edit 2.1:
These alternative programs are failing to install as well. Multiple errors, I now assume the issue is with my windows installation.Hi Kanker ,

I have tried many things to try to install it and I have been unsucessful. Please help I have windows 8 64bit.This did not resolve my issue, it actually made things worse. I did what
you had told me to do below, and it did not work. Tried to access the
internet to respond back to you and my computer was not able to reach the
internet. Tried reaching adobe support and not was able to, even tried
calling was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one answered. I was not able
to re install windows. Contacted Asus from another computer and they were
not able to help me reinstall windows They had asked me to ship my computer
back to them, due to them not being able to resolve the issue and help me
reinstall windows. I luckily had a backup on my external hard drive and was
able to reinstall windows 8. Spent over an hour and half trying to fix
that. Here I am still not able to install adobe reader. I was very unhappy
with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
· Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
for the elevation prompt
· In the command prompt, type the command below:
fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
appropriately.
· Restart the system.
· Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again. -

Seems like there are thousands of entries when you google this error but not too many solutions.
The only microsoft support KB entry that deals with this error only is for Windows 7, so the Fix It tool can't be run:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970652Hi All
I have the Same_D_n_Problem.... However, I WAS able to download and install the VC++ 2005 Redist x_64 after removing the one that was there.... Didn't help :(
Tried removing, then installing using a CleanBoot - no luck
REinstalled VC++2005 Redist. No problem but cannot install SQL 2008 R2
Soooo... have traced the SQL Installer log file - and one can get to the entry by searching for 1935 - then looked back for what I think is the begining of the problem - I have marked this with ********************* here is the LogFile excerpt:

Error 1935: An error occured during the installation of assemble component. Acrobat XI
I currently have Acrobat Professional 9.5.4 loaded and attempted to load Acrobat Professionl XI on a Windows 7 box. When I do, I receive the below error:
Error 1935: An error occured during the installation of assemble component. {76C3F0F6-9B9D-35DA-81C6-CA8A88CC93CA}
I've tried a few things to resolve the issued with no success. I've tried:
1) setting the RegistrySizeLimit to 4294967295
2) Installed .net Framework 4.5 (upgraded from 4.0)
3) Clearing the transaction log via command prompt (admin level)
I have over 20 users that need the program and performing a new OS load is not an option.
Heeeeelp!!!!!If you had to activate AA 9, deactivate it before proceeding, then uninstall it (though the install should also do that). Then run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to clean up the registry for Acrobat. Also, remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder. Reboot and do an install. Be sure to log in as the administrator and disable anti-virus. Maybe these steps will help. Let us know what else you run into. After the install (if successful), you will need to install the updates. Best to use the Help>Updates if possible.
