Error 2 when downloading itunes

Tried downloading itunes 11 for the first time on my computer.
No luck keep getting error 2.
Tried extracting the files and no luck still.
Is there any other ways I can get it on my computer?
Thanks in advance!

  • TS3212 Error Message when Downloading iTunes 10

When attempting to download itunes for windows (Windows XP), I get the following error message, "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation," so I am unable to complete the installation.  Any suggestions?

    many thanks.
Okay ... something may just have gone screwy with the permissions for your usual Windows user account. Unfortunately, that's a bit trickier to deal with on an XP system than on a Vista or 7 system.
Let's first try installing from inside a different Windows user account.
Create a new Windows user account with full administrative rights.
Log out of your usual user account, and log into the new user account. (Don't use fast user switching to move between the accounts.)
Try installing iTunes from inside the new user account.
If it installs, log out of the new account and log into the usual account.
Does your iTunes launch in there?

  • What is error =8400 when downloading itunes Extra for movie ?

    Help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Pete,
Thank you for responding.  I still get the same 8971 error message after downloading the latest Quick Time.  Earlier I had tried installing and reinstalling the whole Lightroom until I heard from you and that didn't work either.  The slideshow plays great in Lightroom.  It is just when I got to export video and it saves it--it looks as though it saves it okay--it just won't play it. But it sounds as though this is the area to focus on.   Jean

  • Invalid Drive: H:\ error message when downloading iTunes 8.0.2

For some time now, I've been trying to upgrade to the 8.0.2 version of iTunes. I get almost to the end, when I get an error message that says "Invalid Drive: H:\" and then I can't download it. I've tried to figure out the problem, but I have no idea what to do. I'm afraid to remove iTunes altogether and then try downloading it because I don't know if I'll be able to download it then, and if I can't then I won't have the program at all. Any suggestions?

If you are having problems, it is best not to use "Upgrade" in iTunes. DOwnload the installer from the APple site:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
SAve the installer onto your desktop rather than running it from your browser.
Then you can upgrade manually using the installer you saved.
That won't solve your problem, but it simplifies things.
You can often get round the invalid drive message by providing iTunes with the drive while you are installing. DO you know what comes up as drive H:, maybe a camera or external drive?
If you don't have something that comes up as H:, maybe you could plug in a memory stick and allocate drive H: to it.
This article about something else contains instructions for allocating a drive letter.

  • Error 8003 when downloading ITunes

Please HELP. I clicked on a story to download, and when it tries to download to me I get an "error 8003" and won't let me downlaod any more music. I don't know how to delete that one story.
    Christine

I have just received an e-mail from Apple iTunes Support and they have issued me with a FULL refund of the purchase price of Avatar and the ( seemingly ) unobtainable iTunes Extras!
I seemed to be getting nowhere after Apples iTunes Support put me through the ringer making me re-try the download ( twice! ); delete my downloads folder and re-try the download AGAIN; and finally having to re-setup my old HP DV7 laptop ( I'm currently using a 17" MacBook Pro Retina ) and retry the download yet AGAIN!
Needless to say the outcome in each case was exactly the same! Avatar the movie downloads perfectly and The Extras file fails at zero% with TWO error 8003s!
Through all this I did everything, no matter how seemingly stupid it seemed that was asked of me and CONTINUED to insist that the fault was on their side and NOT mine!
iTunes support have finally advised me that they don't know when or even IF the file will be checked/repaired and in view of that and that I am a valued customer ( I'd want to be after buying 1.5TB of Music, Movies and TV Shows ) that they would refund me the FULL price I paid for the Movie and Extras!!
So, I would urge ALL of those who have written to this forum to write again to iTunes Support and DEMAND full refund for a faulty product ( the Movie PLUS Extras ), citing MY SUCCESS as precedent for that refund.
I'm saddened that it seems impossible to make Apple fix this file, but at the very least we should be re-imbursed for our trouble ( and our ability to put up with sh*t <sigh> )
So, good luck and start demending your right to a FULL refund!
