I have a new PC,windows 7.I wanted to syns my iPod shuffle 4,but it failed.I tried to restore but it failed,too. Every time when I connect iPod to PC, itunes automatically starts restoring iPod,but detects error at once:"An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try againю An unknown error occurred(2005)".I tried to disconnect all usb,delete antivirus and to re-intall itunes,but it doesn't work(((help

Any idea what unknown error 2005 is?

My iphone is bricked after trying to update to 2.01 and I'm getting the same error on my attempts to restore that I was getting on my Touch update.
I tried to update and there was a failure, when I try to restore, it extracts the software and starts the preparing iphone for restore when I get the unknown error 2005.
My usb cable is plugged into one of the 3 ports on the back of my Mac Pro, so it's not a powered USB issue. I removed and reinstalled itunes with no luck.
I eventually got my touch updated by using another computer, but this is not a long term solution to this problem so it'd be great if anyone else has seen this error and knows how to fix it.

I always use the original usb cable, plugged either into the front or the rear of the mac pro.
I've created a new account and tried that, no joy.
I've reinstalled itunes with no luck
my only other thought is that it might network related. My mac is connected to a switch, then to my router. I'm upgrading everything to gigabit next month and trying to get rid of the switch, so maybe that will take care of the problem.
It's just annoying to have a code assigned to an 'unknown' error!

How to solve Error 2005?

I've been trying to restore my iPod Touch 5th generation (which is in DFU mode), but every time it finishes extracting the software error 2005 pops up. I've done the hosts method, istalled and uninstalled like 10 times and updated the drivers but still no progress. I updated my iPhone 4 and didn't have a problem with that one.

Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.

Error 2005 when restoring a broken iphone

My brothers girlfriend threw her iphone 5s at her car window (dont ask). But anyways, she wanted me to restore it so she could sell it at this atm machine. It will give her three hundred dollars for it because their is no cracks on it at all, just slightly bent and the screen is completely ruined, all black, but lit up when turned on. It connects to itunes and i tried to restore it in dfu mode, I cant do it the regular way because find my iphone is on and i have no way of turning it off. but when it is done extracting software it gives me error 2005. I tried using different ports.

Anyone else getting error 2005?

I'm having the same kind of problems that everyone else seems to be having installing the new upgrade, but most people seem to be getting an error of 6.
Anybody else getting an error 2005?
I plug in my touch and try to upgrade, it extracts the software OK, goes through the "preparing ipod for restore" box and then stops with an unknown error (2005).
If I try to restore to factory settings, it just does the same thing. However, I can get it back to the old version on my Windows XP machine with iTunes. I would try to upgrade there, but it seems like it wants me to purchase the upgrade again!

Since you purchased the 2.0 upgrade on your Mac, you can move the file to your PC and try the upgrade there.
The upgrade file is named iPod1,12.0_5A347Restore.ipsw and on your Mac is stored in
<your home directory>/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates
You'll want to move this to your PC and place it in:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
(you may have to create the iPod Software Updates folder)
After you copy the file, plug in your iPod touch to your PC, and iTunes will offer to Install 2.0 without charge.

IPhone gives an error 2005 ?

when i try to restore my iphone 3GS to iOS 5, it gives an error 2005 in itunes, i even can`t turn on the phone, it is in DFU mode and when i exit DFU, it goes to recovery mode !
i tried many articles given on google website, but none of it worked
My iPhone is not Jailbroken !!!

I think i got the answer my self !
Things you will need:
iReb (Software)
TinyUmbrella (Software)
iPhone
Steps :
1. Switch your iphone to DFU (Device Firmware Update Mode)
2. Then open iReb
3. Then Select the iPhone Model
4. iReb will exploit your iphone with limera1n
5. close all the windows
6. Open TinyUmbrella then press TSS Server
7. when the TSS server starts open iTunes
8. Then navigate to the iphone summmary then click Shift+Restore button then a dialog box appears
9. Select the iOS version you want to install
10. iTunes will extract and do the rest for you
-> thats all its easy i installed my ios 4.3.5.

Can't Restore Iphone 5 (Error 2005)

I tried to restore my iphone back to factory settings so i could give it to my mom. But midway through the process, it gave me an error 2005 (saying something is wrong with the USB, which is perfectly fine). Now it's stuck in recovery mode. I've tried it from recovery and dfu mode. I've been through a bunch of pages that are supposed to help, but nothing has helped. Are there any apps besides iTunes that I could use to manually install ios 6.1.4? Thank you
